第21章

1 大闢至挪伯、見祭司亞希米勒、亞希米勒懼曰、汝奚獨至、無人與偕、

2 大闢曰、王委以事、所遣所諭者、不令人知、我之僕從、俟我於外。

3 今爾所有者何物、請以五餅給我、或以所餘、亦無不可。

4 祭司對曰、常餅未有、聖餅有之、如少者近不御婦女、則可給焉。

5 大闢曰、我儕自啟行以來、迄今三日、未近婦女、少者之身乃潔、雖啟行時少蒙不潔、至於今曰、要無不潔矣。

6 陳耶和華前者、其外無餅、故祭司以聖餅供大闢、意欲當日代新餅。

7 是日掃羅牧長、以東人多益、因有事故、留於耶和華室前。

8 大闢謂亞希米勒曰、王事孔亟、我不攜刃與器、爾有劍戟否。

9 祭司曰、汝昔在以拉谷、殺非利士人坷利亞、其刃在此、裹以布、置公服後、其外無他、爾欲取之可也。大闢曰、此刃無可比儗、請以給我。

10 大闢畏掃羅遂遁至迦特王亞吉。

11 亞吉僕曰、此非彼國之王大闢乎。我憶疇昔、婦女舞蹈、唱予和汝曰、掃羅殺人維千、大衞戮人盈萬。

12 大闢以此言藏諳心、甚懼迦特王亞吉、

13 乃於其前、更易其品、佯狂、塗抹於門、吐涎於鬚。

14 亞吉謂其臣僕曰、爾觀斯人、狂妄者流、何攜至我、

15 我焉用狂者、汝攜之至、狂行於我前曷故、豈可入我室乎。

Chapter 21

1 Then came935 David1732 to Nob5011 to413 Ahimelech288 the priest:3548 and Ahimelech288 was afraid2729 at the meeting7125 of David,1732 and said559 unto him, Why4069 art thou859 alone,905 and no369 man376 with854 thee?

2 And David1732 said559 unto Ahimelech288 the priest,3548 The king4428 hath commanded6680 me a business,1697 and hath said559 unto413 me, Let no408 man376 know3045 any thing3972 of853 the business1697 whereabout834 I595 send7971 thee, and what834 I have commanded6680 thee: and I have appointed3045 my servants5288 to413 such6423 and such492 a place.4725

3 Now6258 therefore what4100 is3426 under8478 thine hand?3027 give5414 me five2568 loaves of bread3899 in mine hand,3027 or176 what there is present.4672

4 And the priest3548 answered6030 853 David,1732 and said,559 There is no369 common2455 bread3899 under413 8478 mine hand,3027 but3588 518 there is3426 hallowed6944 bread;3899 if518 the young men5288 have kept themselves8104 at least389 from women.4480 802

5 And David1732 answered6030 853 the priest,3548 and said559 unto him, Of3588 518 a truth women802 have been kept6113 from us about these three8032 days,8543 since I came out,3318 and the vessels3627 of the young men5288 are holy,6944 and the bread is in a manner1870 common,2455 yea,637 though3588 it were sanctified6942 this day3117 in the vessel.3627

6 So the priest3548 gave5414 him hallowed6944 bread: for3588 there was1961 no3808 bread3899 there8033 but3588 518 the shewbread,3899 6440 that was taken5493 from before4480 6440 the LORD,3068 to put7760 hot2527 bread3899 in the day3117 when it was taken away.3947

7 Now a certain man376 of the servants4480 5650 of Saul7586 was there8033 that1931 day,3117 detained6113 before6440 the LORD;3068 and his name8034 was Doeg,1673 an Edomite,130 the chiefest47 of the herdsmen7462 that834 belonged to Saul.7586

8 And David1732 said559 unto Ahimelech,288 And is there3426 not371 here6311 under8478 thine hand3027 spear2595 or176 sword?2719 for3588 I have neither1571 3808 brought3947 my sword2719 nor1571 my weapons3627 with3027 me, because3588 the king's4428 business1697 required1961 haste.5169

9 And the priest3548 said,559 The sword2719 of Goliath1555 the Philistine,6430 whom834 thou slewest5221 in the valley6010 of Elah,425 behold,2009 it1931 is here wrapped3874 in a cloth8071 behind310 the ephod:646 if518 thou wilt take3947 that, take3947 it: for3588 there is no369 other312 save2108 that here.2088 And David1732 said,559 There is none369 like that; give5414 it me.

10 And David1732 arose,6965 and fled1272 that1931 day3117 for fear of4480 6440 Saul,7586 and went935 to413 Achish397 the king4428 of Gath.1661

11 And the servants5650 of Achish397 said559 unto413 him, Is not3808 this2088 David1732 the king4428 of the land?776 did they not3808 sing one to another6030 of him2088 in dances,4246 saying,559 Saul7586 hath slain5221 his thousands,505 and David1732 his ten thousands?7233

12 And David1732 laid up7760 853 these428 words1697 in his heart,3824 and was sore3966 afraid3372 of4480 6440 Achish397 the king4428 of Gath.1661

13 And he changed8138 853 his behavior2940 before5869 them, and feigned himself mad1984 in their hands,3027 and scrabbled8427 on5921 the doors1817 of the gate,8179 and let his spittle7388 fall down3381 upon413 his beard.2206

14 Then said559 Achish397 unto413 his servants,5650 Lo,2009 ye see7200 the man376 is mad:7696 wherefore4100 then have ye brought935 him to413 me?

15 Have I589 need2638 of mad men,7696 that3588 ye have brought935 853 this2088 fellow to play the mad man7696 in my presence?5921 shall this2088 fellow come935 into413 my house?1004

12 大闢以此言藏諳心、甚懼迦特王亞吉、

12 And David1732 laid up7760 853 these428 words1697 in his heart,3824 and was sore3966 afraid3372 of4480 6440 Achish397 the king4428 of Gath.1661

13 乃於其前、更易其品、佯狂、塗抹於門、吐涎於鬚。

13 And he changed8138 853 his behavior2940 before5869 them, and feigned himself mad1984 in their hands,3027 and scrabbled8427 on5921 the doors1817 of the gate,8179 and let his spittle7388 fall down3381 upon413 his beard.2206

14 亞吉謂其臣僕曰、爾觀斯人、狂妄者流、何攜至我、

14 Then said559 Achish397 unto413 his servants,5650 Lo,2009 ye see7200 the man376 is mad:7696 wherefore4100 then have ye brought935 him to413 me?

15 我焉用狂者、汝攜之至、狂行於我前曷故、豈可入我室乎。

15 Have I589 need2638 of mad men,7696 that3588 ye have brought935 853 this2088 fellow to play the mad man7696 in my presence?5921 shall this2088 fellow come935 into413 my house?1004
