1 元始有道、道與上帝共在、道卽上帝、

2 是道元始與上帝共在也、

3 萬物以道而造、凡受造者、無不以之而造、

4 生在道中、生也者、人之光、

5 光照於暗、暗者弗識之、○〔耶穌降生後廿六年之事〕

6 有上帝所遣者名約翰、

7 其至爲光作證、使衆以之而信、

8 約翰非光、特爲光證耳、

27 此人後我來、而先我在、卽其履帶、我不堪解、

28 此事見於約但外之伯大巴喇、約翰施洗處、〇

29 明日、約翰見耶穌就己、則曰、觀上帝之羔負世人之罪者、
