1 出埃及後、二年二月朔、耶和華在西乃野會幕中、諭摩西曰、

2 以色列會眾、循其世系宗族、凡諸丁男、一一核其數、

3 自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、爾及亞倫當依其數而計之。

4 每支派中、擇最著者一人以助爾。

5 今述其名、屬流便支派、示丟耳子以利蓿。

6 屬西面支派、蘇哩沙太子示路滅。

7 屬猶大支派、亞米拿達子拿順。

8 屬以薩迦支派、蘇押子拿但業。

9 屬西布倫支派、希倫子以利押。

10 約瑟有二子、分爲支派二、屬以法蓮支派、亞米忽子以利沙馬。屬馬拿西支派、比大蓿子迦馬列。

11 屬便雅憫支派、其田尼子亞庇但。

12 屬但支派、亞米沙太子亞劦色。

13 屬亞設支派、惡蘭子帕結。

14 屬伽得支派、丟耳子以利亞撒。

15 屬納大利支派、以南子亞希喇。

16 今所言諸人、爲支派之牧伯、以色列族中之千夫長、會中素有名望者。

17 摩西亞倫召之、

18 二月朔、集會衆、自二十歲以上、凡諸丁男、一一稱名、述其譜系、考其宗族。

19 摩西在西乃野、遵耶和華命核其數、

20 以色列長子、流便子孫、循其世系宗族、自二十歲以上、凡諸丁男、能臨陳者、依其名數、

21 計四萬六千五百。

22 西面子孫、循其世系宗族、自二十歲以上、凡諸丁男、能臨陳者、依其名數、

23 計五萬九千三百。

24 伽得子孫、循其世系宗族、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、依其名數、

25 計四萬五千六百五十。

26 猶大子孫、循其世系宗族、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、依其名數、

27 計七萬四千六百。

28 以薩迦子孫、循其世系宗族、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、依其名數、

29 計五萬四千四百。

30 西布倫子孫、循其世系宗族、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、依其名數、

44 以色列十二支派之牧伯、輔翼摩西亞倫、核數其名、

45 考其宗族、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、

46 計六十萬三千五百五十人。

47 利未宗族、不列其數、

48 蓋耶和華曾諭摩西曰、

49 利未支派、勿與以色列族同核。

50 必使之負載法幕、及其器皿、供役其中、四周列營。

51 如徙會幕、利未人移之、如立會幕、利未人建之、外人近其側、必致死亡。

52 以色列衆立營各歸其所、各循其纛。

53 利未人立營、四周法幕、以為範衞、免以色列族干我震怒。

54 以色列族遵耶和華所諭摩西之命而行。

Numbers

Chapter 1

1 AND the LORD spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after the children of Israel were come out of the land of Egypt, saying,

2 Take the census of all the congregation of the children of Israel, by their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of their names, every male by their polls;

3 From twenty years old and upward, all who are able to go forth to war in Israel; you and Aaron your brother shall number them by their armies.

4 And with you there shall be a man of every tribe; every one the head of the house of his fathers.

5 And these are the names of the men who shall help you: of the tribe of Reuben, Elizur the son of Shedeur.

6 Of Simeon, Shelmuiel the son of Zurishaddai.

7 Of Judah, Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

8 Of Issachar, Nethanael the son of Zuar.

9 Of Zebulun, Eliab the son of Helon.

10 Of the sons of Joseph, of Ephraim, Elishama the son of Ammihud; of Manasseh, Gamaliel the son of Perzur.

11 Of Benjamin, Abidan the son of Gideoni.

12 Of Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.

13 Of Asher, Pagiel the son of Ocran.

14 Of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Reuel.

15 Of Naphtali, Ahida the son of Enan.

16 These were the renowned of the congregation, princes of the tribes of their fathers, heads of thousands of the army of Israel.

17 And Moses and Aaron took these men who were chosen by their names;

18 And they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month, and they were numbered after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of their names from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.

19 As the LORD commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.

20 And the children of Reuben, Israel's first-born, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;

21 The number of the tribe of Reuben was forty-six thousand and five hundred.

22 Of the children of Simeon, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, those that were numbered of them, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;

23 The number of the tribe of Simeon was fifty-nine thousand and three hundred.

24 Of the children of Gad, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;

25 The number of the tribe of Gad was forty-five thousand and six hundred and fifty.

26 Of the children of Judah, by their generations, after their families, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;

27 The number of the tribe of Judah was seventy-four thousand and six hundred.

28 Of the children of Issachar, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;

29 The number of the tribe of Issachar was fifty-four thousand and four hundred.

30 Of the children of Zebulun, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;

31 The number of the tribe of Zebulun was fifty-seven thousand and four hundred.

32 Of the children of Joseph, namely, of the children of Ephraim, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;

33 The number of the tribe of Ephraim was forty thousand and five hundred.

34 Of the children of Manasseh, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;

35 The number of the tribe of Manasseh was thirty-two thousand and two hundred.

36 Of the children of Benjamin, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;

37 The number of the tribe of Benjamin was thirty-five thousand and four hundred.

38 Of the children of Dan, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;

39 The number of the tribe of Dan was sixty-two thousand and seven hundred.

40 Of the children of Asher, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;

41 The number of the tribe of Asher was forty-one thousand and five hundred.

42 Of the children of Naphtali, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;

43 The number of the tribe of Naphtali was fifty-three thousand and four hundred.

44 These are those who were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron numbered, and the princes of Israel, being twelve men; each one was from the house of his fathers.

45 So were all those that were numbered of the children of Israel, by the house of their fathers, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;

46 The total number of the children of Israel was six hundred and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.

47 ¶But the Levites and the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.

48 Because the LORD had spoken to Moses, saying,

49 You shall not number the tribe of Levi, neither take the sum of them among the children of Israel;

50 But you shall appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony and over all its vessels and over all that belongs to it; they shall carry the tabernacle and all its vessels; and they shall minister to it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle.

51 And when the tabernacle shall set forward, the Levites shall take it down; and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up; and the stranger who comes near shall be put to death.

52 And the children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp and every man by his own standard, throughout their hosts.

53 But the Levites shall pitch round about the tabernacle of the testimony, that there be no wrath against the congregation of the children of Israel; and the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of the testimony.

54 And the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.

3 自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、爾及亞倫當依其數而計之。	3 From twenty years old and upward, all who are able to go forth to war in Israel; you and Aaron your brother shall number them by their armies.
4 每支派中、擇最著者一人以助爾。	4 And with you there shall be a man of every tribe; every one the head of the house of his fathers.
5 今述其名、屬流便支派、示丟耳子以利蓿。	5 And these are the names of the men who shall help you: of the tribe of Reuben, Elizur the son of Shedeur.

12 屬但支派、亞米沙太子亞劦色。	12 Of Dan, Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.
13 屬亞設支派、惡蘭子帕結。	13 Of Asher, Pagiel the son of Ocran.
14 屬伽得支派、丟耳子以利亞撒。	14 Of Gad, Eliasaph the son of Reuel.
15 屬納大利支派、以南子亞希喇。	15 Of Naphtali, Ahida the son of Enan.
16 今所言諸人、爲支派之牧伯、以色列族中之千夫長、會中素有名望者。	16 These were the renowned of the congregation, princes of the tribes of their fathers, heads of thousands of the army of Israel.
17 摩西亞倫召之、	17 And Moses and Aaron took these men who were chosen by their names;
18 二月朔、集會衆、自二十歲以上、凡諸丁男、一一稱名、述其譜系、考其宗族。	18 And they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month, and they were numbered after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of their names from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.
19 摩西在西乃野、遵耶和華命核其數、	19 As the LORD commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.
20 以色列長子、流便子孫、循其世系宗族、自二十歲以上、凡諸丁男、能臨陳者、依其名數、	20 And the children of Reuben, Israel's first-born, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;
21 計四萬六千五百。	21 The number of the tribe of Reuben was forty-six thousand and five hundred.
22 西面子孫、循其世系宗族、自二十歲以上、凡諸丁男、能臨陳者、依其名數、	22 Of the children of Simeon, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, those that were numbered of them, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;
23 計五萬九千三百。	23 The number of the tribe of Simeon was fifty-nine thousand and three hundred.
24 伽得子孫、循其世系宗族、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、依其名數、	24 Of the children of Gad, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;
25 計四萬五千六百五十。	25 The number of the tribe of Gad was forty-five thousand and six hundred and fifty.
26 猶大子孫、循其世系宗族、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、依其名數、	26 Of the children of Judah, by their generations, after their families, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;
27 計七萬四千六百。	27 The number of the tribe of Judah was seventy-four thousand and six hundred.
28 以薩迦子孫、循其世系宗族、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、依其名數、	28 Of the children of Issachar, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;
29 計五萬四千四百。	29 The number of the tribe of Issachar was fifty-four thousand and four hundred.
30 西布倫子孫、循其世系宗族、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、依其名數、	30 Of the children of Zebulun, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;
31 計五萬七千四百。	31 The number of the tribe of Zebulun was fifty-seven thousand and four hundred.
32 約瑟生二子、分爲支派二、以法蓮子孫、循其世系宗族、依其名數、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、	32 Of the children of Joseph, namely, of the children of Ephraim, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;
33 計四萬有五百。	33 The number of the tribe of Ephraim was forty thousand and five hundred.
34 馬拿西子孫、循其世系宗族、依其名數、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、	34 Of the children of Manasseh, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;
35 計三萬二千二百。	35 The number of the tribe of Manasseh was thirty-two thousand and two hundred.
36 便雅憫子孫、循其世系宗族、依其名數、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、	36 Of the children of Benjamin, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;
37 計三萬五千四百。	37 The number of the tribe of Benjamin was thirty-five thousand and four hundred.
38 但之子孫、循其世系宗族、依其名數、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、	38 Of the children of Dan, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;
39 計六萬二千七百。	39 The number of the tribe of Dan was sixty-two thousand and seven hundred.
40 亞設子孫、循其世系宗族、依其名數、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、	40 Of the children of Asher, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;
41 計四萬一千五百。	41 The number of the tribe of Asher was forty-one thousand and five hundred.
42 納大利子孫、循其世系宗族、依其名數、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、	42 Of the children of Naphtali, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;
43 計五萬三千四百。	43 The number of the tribe of Naphtali was fifty-three thousand and four hundred.
44 以色列十二支派之牧伯、輔翼摩西亞倫、核數其名、	44 These are those who were numbered, whom Moses and Aaron numbered, and the princes of Israel, being twelve men; each one was from the house of his fathers.
45 考其宗族、自二十歲以上、能臨陳者、	45 So were all those that were numbered of the children of Israel, by the house of their fathers, from twenty years old and upward, all who were able to go forth to war in Israel;
46 計六十萬三千五百五十人。	46 The total number of the children of Israel was six hundred and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.
47 利未宗族、不列其數、	47 ¶But the Levites and the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.
48 蓋耶和華曾諭摩西曰、	48 Because the LORD had spoken to Moses, saying,
49 利未支派、勿與以色列族同核。	49 You shall not number the tribe of Levi, neither take the sum of them among the children of Israel;
50 必使之負載法幕、及其器皿、供役其中、四周列營。	50 But you shall appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of the testimony and over all its vessels and over all that belongs to it; they shall carry the tabernacle and all its vessels; and they shall minister to it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle.

52 以色列衆立營各歸其所、各循其纛。	52 And the children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp and every man by his own standard, throughout their hosts.
53 利未人立營、四周法幕、以為範衞、免以色列族干我震怒。	53 But the Levites shall pitch round about the tabernacle of the testimony, that there be no wrath against the congregation of the children of Israel; and the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of the testimony.
54 以色列族遵耶和華所諭摩西之命而行。	54 And the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.
