第59篇

1 （掃羅打發人窺探大衛的房屋，要殺他。那時，大衛作這金詩，交與伶長。用休要毀壞調。）我的神啊，求你救我脫離仇敵，保護我［defend me］，得脫那些起來攻擊我的人。

2 求你救我脫離作孽的人和喜愛流人血的人。

3 看哪［lo］，因為他們埋伏要害我的命；有能力的人聚集來攻擊我。耶和華啊，這不是為我的過犯，也不是為我的罪愆。

4 我雖然無過，他們預備整齊，跑來攻擊我。求你醒來幫助，鑒察我［awake to help me, and behold］。

5 大軍之神耶和華─以色列的神啊，求你醒起［awake］，懲治一切異教的民［all the heathen］。不要憐憫行惡犯罪的人［wicked transgressors］。細拉。

6 他們晚上轉回，叫號如狗，圍城繞行。

7 看哪［Behold］，他們口中噴吐惡言，嘴裏有刀；他們說：有誰聽見？

8 但你─耶和華啊［O］，你必笑話他們；你要嗤笑一切異教之民［all the heathen］。

9 因他［Because of his］的力量，我必仰望你，因為神是我的保障［defence］。

10 我的神要以慈愛迎接我；神要叫我看見我仇敵遭報。

11 不要殺他們，恐怕我的民忘記。主啊，你是我們的盾牌；求你用你的能力使他們四散，且降為卑。

12 因他們口中的罪和嘴裏的言語，並咒罵虛謊的話，願他們在驕傲之中被纏住了。

13 求你在怒中消滅、消滅他們［Consume them in wrath, consume them］，使他們［that they］歸於無有，叫他們知道神在雅各中間掌權，直到地極。細拉。

14 到了晚上，任憑他們轉回；任憑他們叫號如狗，圍城繞行。

15 他們必上去下來［wander up and down］，尋找食物，若不得飽就懷怨抱恨［grudge］。

16 但我要歌頌你的力量，早晨要高唱你的慈愛；因為你作過我的保障［defence］，在我急難的日子作過我的避難所。

17 我的力量啊，我要歌頌你；因為神是我的保障［defence］，是賜恩與我的神。

Psalm 59

1 DELIVER me from mine enemies, O God; defend me from them that rise up against me.

2 Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.

3 For, 1o, they lie in wait for my soul; evil have they multiplied against me; not because I have transgressed or because I have sinned, O LORD.

4 They run and prepare themselves against me without considering whether I have been at fault;

5 Awake to help me, and behold, O thou LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the nations, and spare not any wicked transgressors.

6 They return at evening; they make a noise like dogs, and go round about the city.

7 Behold, they belch out with their mouths; swords are in their lips; for who, say they, does care?

8 But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the nations in derision.

9 To thee shall I give praise, O God, for thou art my defense.

10 O God, thy lovingkindness has preceded me; God has let me live to see my enemies avenged.

11 Spare them for a living example, lest my people forget; but scatter them by thy power, and bring them down, O LORD my hope.

12 For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips. let them even be taken in their pride; for it is cursing and lying that they speak.

13 Consume them in thy wrath, consume them, that they be no more, that they may know that God rules over Jacob and over the ends of the earth.

14 And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like dogs, and go round about the city.

15 Let them be hungry and not be filled, neither let them find a lodging place.

16 But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning; for thou hast been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble.

17 Unto thee, O God, will I sing; for thou art God of my refuge and the God of my mercy.
