1 And it came1961 to pass after310 this,3651 that Absalom53 the son1121 of David1732 had a fair3303 sister,269 whose name8034 was Tamar;8559 and Amnon550 the son1121 of David1732 loved157 her.

2 Und Amnon550 stellete sich5869 krank2470 um Thamars8559, seiner Schwester269, willen. Denn sie war eine Jungfrau1330, und deuchte Amnon550 schwer sein6381, daß er ihr etwas3972 sollte tun6213.

2 And Amnon550 was so vexed,3334 that he fell sick2470 for his sister269 Tamar;8559 for she was a virgin;1330 and Amnon550 thought5869 it hard6381 for him to do6213 anything3972 to her.

3 Amnon550 aber hatte einen Freund7453, der hieß8034 Jonadab3122, ein Sohn1121 Simeas8093, Davids1732 Bruders251; und derselbe Jonadab3122 war ein sehr3966 weiser2450 Mann376.

3 But Amnon550 had a friend,7453 whose name8034 was Jonadab,3122 the son1121 of Shimeah8093 David's1732 brother:251 and Jonadab3122 was a very3966 subtle2450 man.376

4 Der sprach559 zu ihm: Warum wirst du so mager1800, du Königssohn4428, von Tage zu Tage? Magst du mir‘s nicht ansagen5046? Da sprach559 Amnon550 zu ihm: Ich habe Thamar8559, meines Bruders251 Absalom53 Schwester269, lieb157 gewonnen.

4 And he said559 to him, Why4069 are you, being the king's4428 son,1121 lean1800 from day1242 to day?1242 will you not tell5046 me? And Amnon550 said559 to him, I love157 Tamar,8559 my brother251 Absalom's53 sister.269

5 Jonadab3082 sprach559 zu ihm: Lege dich7901 auf dein Bett4904 und mache6213 dich krank2470. Wenn dann dein Vater1 kommt935, dich zu besehen, so sprich zu ihm: Lieber, laß7200 meine Schwester269 Thamar8559 kommen935, daß sie559 mich ätze und mache vor5869 mir ein Essen3899, daß ich7200 zusehe und von ihrer Hand3027 esse1262.

6 Also legte sich7901 Amnon550 und machte sich7200 krank2470. Da nun der König4428 kam935, ihn zu besehen, sprach559 Amnon550 zum Könige4428: Lieber, laß meine Schwester269 Thamar8559 kommen935, daß sie vor5869 mir ein Gemüse oder zwei8147 mache3823, und ich von ihrer Hand3027 esse1262.

6 So Amnon550 lay7901 down,7901 and made himself sick:2470 and when the king4428 was come935 to see7200 him, Amnon550 said559 to the king,4428 I pray4994 you, let Tamar8559 my sister269 come,935 and make3823 me a couple8147 of cakes3834 in my sight,5869 that I may eat1262 at her hand.3027

8 Thamar8559 ging hin3212 ins Haus1004 ihres Bruders251 Amnon550; er aber lag7901 zu Bette. Und sie nahm3947 einen Teig1217 und knetete3888 und sott es3823 vor seinen Augen5869 und kochte1310 ihm ein Gemüse.

8 So Tamar8559 went3212 to her brother251 Amnon's550 house;1004 and he was laid7901 down.7901 And she took3947 flour,1217 and kneaded3888 it, and made3835 cakes3823 in his sight,5869 and did bake1310 the cakes.3834

9 Und376 sie nahm3947 das Gericht und schüttete3332 es vor ihm aus3318; aber er376 weigerte sich3985 zu essen398. Und Amnon550 sprach559: Laßt jedermann von3318 mir6440 hinausgehen! Und es ging jedermann von ihm hinaus.

9 And she took3947 a pan,4958 and poured3332 them out before6440 him; but he refused3985 to eat.398 And Amnon550 said,559 Have3318 out all3605 men376 from me. And they went3318 out every man376 from him.

10 Da sprach559 Amnon550 zu Thamar8559: Bringe935 das Essen1279 in die Kammer2315, daß ich von deiner Hand3027 esse1262. Da nahm3947 Thamar8559 das Gemüse, das sie gemacht hatte6213, und brachte935 es zu Amnon550, ihrem Bruder251, in die Kammer2315.

10 And Amnon550 said559 to Tamar,8559 Bring935 the meat1279 into the chamber,2315 that I may eat1262 of your hand.3027 And Tamar8559 took3947 the cakes3834 which834 she had made,6213 and brought935 them into the chamber2315 to Amnon550 her brother.251

11 Und da sie2388 es zu ihm brachte935, daß er äße398, ergriff er sie und sprach559 zu ihr7901: Komm her5066, meine Schwester269, schlaf bei mir!
|
11 And when she had brought5066 them to him to eat,398 he took hold2388 of her, and said559 to her, Come935 lie7901 with me, my sister.269
|
|
12 Sie aber sprach559 zu6213 ihm: Nicht, mein Bruder251, schwäche6031 mich nicht, denn so3651 tut man6213 nicht in Israel3478; tu nicht eine solche Torheit5039!
|
12 And she answered559 him, No,408 my brother,251 do6213 not force6031 me; for no3808 such3651 thing3651 ought to be done6213 in Israel:3478 do not you this2063 folly.5039

13 Wo will ich mit meiner Schande2781 hin3212? Und du wirst sein wie die Toren5036 in Israel3478. Rede aber mit dem259 Könige4428, der wird1696 mich dir nicht versagen4513.
|
13 And I, where575 shall I cause my shame2781 to go?3212 and as for you, you shall be as one259 of the fools5036 in Israel.3478 Now6258 therefore, I pray4994 you, speak1696 to the king;4428 for he will not withhold4513 me from you.

14 Aber er wollte14 ihr8085 nicht gehorchen und überwältigte sie2388 und schwächte6031 sie und schlief7901 bei ihr6963.
|
14 However, he would14 not listen8085 to her voice:6963 but, being stronger2388 than she, forced6031 her, and lay7901 with her.
|
|
15 Und Amnon550 ward ihr überaus gram, daß der Haß8135 größer1419 war8130, denn vorhin die Liebe160 war8130. Und Amnon550 sprach559 zu ihr: Mache dich3212 auf6965 und hebe dich!
|
15 Then Amnon550 hated8130 her exceedingly;1419 3966 so that the hatred8135 with which834 he hated8130 her was greater1419 than the love160 with which834 he had loved157 her. And Amnon550 said559 to her, Arise,6965 be gone.3212

|
16 Sie aber sprach559 zu ihm: Das Übel ist größer1419 denn das andere312, das du an mir14 getan6213 hast, daß du mich7971 ausstößest. Aber er gehorchte8085 ihrer Stimme nicht7451,

16 And she said559 to him, There is no408 cause: this2063 evil7451 in sending7971 me away is greater1419 than the other312 that you did6213 to me. But he would14 not listen8085 to her.

17 sondern rief7121 seinem Knaben5288, der sein Diener8334 war5274, und7971 sprach559: Treib diese von mir hinaus2351 und schleuß die Tür1817 hinter310 ihr zu.
|
17 Then he called7121 his servant5288 that ministered8334 to him, and said,559 Put7971 now4994 this2063 woman out from me, and bolt5274 the door1817 after310 her.
|
|
18 Und sie3847 hatte5274 einen bunten6446 Rock3801 an; denn solche Röcke trugen des Königs4428 Töchter1323, weil sie Jungfrauen1330 waren3318. Und da310 sie sein4598 Diener8334 hinausgetrieben2351 und die Tür1817 hinter ihr zugeschlossen hatte,

18 And she had a garment3801 of divers6446 colors6446 on her: for with such3651 robes4598 were the king's4428 daughters1323 that were virgins1330 appareled.3847 Then his servant8334 brought3318 her out, and bolted5274 the door1817 after310 her.

19 warf Thamar8559 Asche665 auf3947 ihr Haupt7218 und1980 zerriß7167 den bunten6446 Rock3801, den sie anhatte, und legte7760 ihre Hand3027 auf das Haupt7218 und ging3212 daher und schrie2199.

19 And Tamar8559 put3947 ashes665 on5921 her head,7218 and rent7167 her garment3801 of divers6446 colors6446 that was on5921 her, and laid7760 her hand3027 on5921 her head,7218 and went3212 on crying.2201

20 Und53 ihr Bruder251 Absalom53 sprach559 zu ihr: Ist8074 dein Bruder251 Amnon550 bei dir gewesen? Nun, meine Schwester269, schweig stille, es ist dein Bruder251, und nimm7896 die Sache1697 nicht2790 so zu Herzen3820. Also blieb3427 Thamar8559 ledig in Absaloms, ihres Bruders251, Hause1004.

20 And Absalom53 her brother251 said559 to her, Has Amnon550 your brother251 been1961 with you? but hold2790 now6258 your peace,2790 my sister:269 he is your brother;251 regard3820 not this2063 thing.1697 So Tamar8559 remained3427 desolate8076 in her brother251 Absalom's53 house.1004

21 Und da der König4428 David1732 solches8085 alles1697 hörete, ward2734 er sehr3966 zornig. Aber Absalom redete nicht mit Amnon, weder Böses noch Gutes.
|
21 But when king4428 David1732 heard8085 of all3605 these428 things,1697 he was very3966 wroth.2734
|
|
22 Aber Absalom53 ward6031 Amnon550 gram8130, darum1697 daß er seine Schwester269 Thamar8559 geschwächt hatte1696.
|
22 And Absalom53 spoke1696 to his brother Amnon550 neither3808 good2896 nor bad:7451 for Absalom53 hated8130 Amnon,550 because5921 he had forced6031 his sister269 Tamar.8559
|
|
23 Über zwei Jahre8141 aber hatte Absalom53 Schafscherer1494 zu Baal-Hazor1178, die unter Ephraim669 liegt; und Absalom53 lud7121 alle3117 Kinder1121 des Königs4428.
|
23 And it came1961 to pass after two full3117 years,8141 that Absalom53 had sheep shearers1494 in Baalhazor,1178 which834 is beside5973 Ephraim:669 and Absalom53 invited7121 all3605 the king's4428 sons.1121
|
|
24 Und53 kam zum Könige4428 und sprach559: Siehe, dein Knecht5650 hat Schafscherer1494; der König4428 wolle samt seinen Knechten5650 mit seinem Knechte5650 gehen935.
|
24 And Absalom53 came935 to the king,4428 and said,559 Behold2009 now,4994 your servant5650 has sheep shearers;1494 let the king,4428 I beseech4994 you, and his servants5650 go3212 with your servant.5650
|
|
25 Der König4428 aber sprach559 zu Absalom53: Nicht, mein Sohn1121, laß uns nicht alle gehen3212, daß wir dich nicht beschweren3513. Und da er ihn6555 nötigte, wollte14 er doch nicht gehen3212, sondern segnete1288 ihn.
|
25 And the king4428 said559 to Absalom,53 No,408 my son,1121 let us not all3605 now4994 go,3212 lest3808 we be chargeable3513 to you. And he pressed6555 him: however, he would14 not go,3212 but blessed1288 him.

|
26 Absalom53 sprach559: Soll denn nicht mein Bruder251 Amnon550 mit uns gehen3212? Der König4428 sprach559 zu ihm: Warum soll er mit dir gehen3212?
|
26 Then said559 Absalom,53 If3808 not, I pray4994 you, let my brother251 Amnon550 go3212 with us. And the king4428 said559 to him, Why4100 should he go3212 with you?
|
|
27 Da nötigte ihn6555 Absalom53, daß er mit ihm ließ7971 Amnon550 und alle Kinder1121 des Königs4428.
|
27 But Absalom53 pressed6555 him, that he let Amnon550 and all3605 the king's4428 sons1121 go7971 with him.
|
|
28 Absalom53 aber gebot6680 seinen Knaben5288 und2428 sprach559: Sehet drauf, wenn Amnon550 guter2896 Dinge wird3820 von dem Wein3196, und ich zu euch3372 spreche559: Schlaget5221 Amnon550 und tötet4191 ihn, daß ihr7200 euch nicht fürchtet, denn ich hab‘s euch geheißen; seid getrost2388 und frisch dran!

28 Now Absalom53 had commanded6680 his servants,5288 saying,559 Mark7200 you now4994 when Amnon's550 heart3820 is merry2896 with wine,3196 and when I say559 to you, Smite5221 Amnon;550 then kill4191 him, fear3372 not: have not I commanded6680 you? be courageous,2388 and be valiant.1121 2428

29 Also taten die Knaben5288 Absaloms dem Amnon550, wie ihnen Absalom53 geboten6680 hatte6213. Da stunden alle Kinder1121 des Königs4428 auf6965, und53 ein376 jeglicher saß7392 auf sein Maul und flohen5127.
|
29 And the servants5288 of Absalom53 did6213 to Amnon550 as Absalom53 had commanded.6680 Then all3605 the king's4428 sons1121 arose,6965 and every man376 got7392 him up on his mule,6505 and fled.5127
|
|
30 Und da sie559 noch auf dem Wege1870 waren935, kam das Gerücht8052 vor David1732, daß Absalom53 hätte alle Kinder1121 des Königs4428 erschlagen5221, daß nicht einer259 von ihnen übrig3498 wäre.
|
30 And it came1961 to pass, while they were in the way,1870 that tidings8052 came935 to David,1732 saying,559 Absalom53 has slain5221 all3605 the king's4428 sons,1121 and there is not one259 of them left.3498
|
|
31 Da stund der König4428 auf6965 und5324 zerriß7167 seine Kleider899 und legte sich7901 auf die Erde776; und alle seine Knechte5650, die um ihn her stunden, zerrissen7167 ihre Kleider899.
|
31 Then the king4428 arose,6965 and tare7167 his garments,899 and lay7901 on the earth;776 and all3605 his servants5650 stood5324 by with their clothes899 rent.7167
|
|
32 Da antwortete6030 Jonadab3122, der Sohn1121 Simeas8093, des Bruders251 Davids1732, und559 sprach559: Mein Herr113 denke nicht, daß6310 alle Knaben5288, die Kinder1121 des Königs4428, tot sind4191, sondern Amnon550 ist allein tot. Denn Absalom53 hat7760 es bei sich behalten von dem Tage3117 an, da er seine Schwester269 Thamar8559 schwächte6031.

32 And Jonadab,3122 the son1121 of Shimeah8093 David's1732 brother,251 answered6030 and said,559 Let not my lord113 suppose559 that they have slain4191 all3605 the young5288 men the king's4428 sons;1121 for Amnon550 only905 is dead:4191 for by the appointment6310 of Absalom53 this has been1961 determined7760 from the day3117 that he forced6031 his sister269 Tamar.8559

33 So nehme nun mein Herr113, der König4428, solches1697 nicht zu4191 Herzen3820, daß559 alle Kinder1121 des Königs4428 tot seien4191, sondern Amnon550 ist7760 allein tot.
|
33 Now6258 therefore let not my lord113 the king4428 take7760 the thing1697 to his heart,3820 to think559 that all3605 the king's4428 sons1121 are dead:4191 for Amnon550 only905 is dead.4191
|
|
34 Absalom53 aber floh1272. Und310 der Knabe5288 auf5375 der Warte6822 hub seine Augen5869 auf und sah7200, und siehe, ein groß7227 Volk5971 kam1980 auf dem Wege1870 nacheinander an der Seite6654 des Berges2022.

34 But Absalom53 fled.1272 And the young5288 man that kept the watch6822 lifted5375 up his eyes,5869 and looked,7200 and, behold,2009 there came1980 much7227 people5971 by the way1870 of the hill2022 side6654 behind310 him.

35 Da sprach Jonadab3122 zum Könige4428: Siehe, die Kinder1121 des Königs4428 kommen; wie dein Knecht5650 gesagt559 hat1697, so ist‘s935 ergangen.
|
35 And Jonadab3122 said559 to the king,4428 Behold,2009 the king's4428 sons1121 come:935 as your servant5650 said,1697 so3651 it is.
|
|
36 Und da er hatte1696 ausgeredet, siehe, da kamen935 die Kinder1121 des Königs4428 und huben ihre Stimme6963 auf3615 und weineten. Der König4428 und alle seine Knechte5650 weineten auch fast sehr3966.
|
36 And it came1961 to pass, as soon as he had made an end3615 of speaking,1696 that, behold,2009 the king's4428 sons1121 came,935 and lifted5375 up their voice6963 and wept:1058 and the king4428 also1571 and all3605 his servants5650 wept1058 very3966 sore.1419

|
37 Absalom53 aber floh1272 und zog3212 zu Thalmai8526, dem Sohn1121 Ammihuds5991, dem Könige4428 zu Gesur. Er aber trug56 Leid über seinen Sohn1121 alle Tage3117.
|
37 But Absalom53 fled,1272 and went3212 to Talmai,8526 the son1121 of Ammihud,5989 king4428 of Geshur.1650 And David mourned56 for his son1121 every3605 day.3117
|
|
38 Da aber Absalom53 floh1272 und gen Gesur zog3212, war er daselbst drei7969 Jahre8141.
|
38 So Absalom53 fled,1272 and went3212 to Geshur,1650 and was there8033 three7969 years.8141
|
|
39 Und der König4428 David1732 hörete auf3615, auszuziehen wider Absalom53; denn er hatte sich getröstet5162 über Amnon550, daß er tot war3318.
|
39 And the soul of king4428 David1732 longed3615 to go3318 forth3318 to Absalom:53 for he was comforted5162 concerning5921 Amnon,550 seeing he was dead.4191
