2 Ich habe zwar ein Haus1004 gebauet dir zur Wohnung2073 und1129 einen Sitz4349, da du ewiglich5769 wohnest3427.

3 Und5975 der König4428 wandte5437 sein Antlitz6440 und segnete1288 die ganze Gemeine Israel3478; denn die ganze Gemeine Israel3478 stund.

4 Und559 er sprach559: Gelobet sei1288 der HErr3068, der GOtt430 Israels3478, der durch seinen Mund6310 meinem Vater1 David1732 geredet und mit seiner Hand3027 erfüllet hat4390, da er sagte1696:

5 Seit der Zeit3117 ich mein Volk5971 aus3318 Ägyptenland776 geführet habe977, habe977 ich keine Stadt5892 erwählet in allen Stämmen7626 Israels3478, ein Haus1004 zu bauen1129, daß mein Name8034 daselbst wäre, und habe auch keinen Mann376 erwählet, daß er Fürst5057 wäre über mein Volk5971 Israel3478;

6 aber Jerusalem3389 habe977 ich erwählet, daß mein Name8034 daselbst sei, und David1732 habe977 ich erwählet, daß er über mein Volk5971 Israel3478 sei.

7 Und da es mein Vater1 David1732 im Sinn3824 hatte, ein Haus1004 zu bauen1129 dem Namen8034 des HErrn3068, des Gottes430 Israels3478,

8 sprach559 der HErr3068 zu meinem Vater1 David1732: Du hast wohl2895 getan, daß du im Sinn3824 hast, meinem Namen8034 ein Haus1004 zu bauen1129.

9 Doch7535 du sollst das Haus1004 nicht bauen1129, sondern dein Sohn1121, der aus deinen Lenden2504 kommen3318 wird, soll meinem Namen8034 das Haus1004 bauen1129.

10 So hat1696 nun der HErr3068 sein Wort1697 bestätiget, das er1129 geredet hat1696; denn ich bin aufkommen an meines Vaters1 David1732 Statt und sitze3427 auf6965 dem Stuhl3678 Israels3478, wie der HErr3068 geredet hat, und habe6965 ein Haus1004 gebauet dem Namen8034 des HErrn3068, des Gottes430 Israels3478,

11 und habe7760 drein getan die Lade727, darinnen der Bund1285 des HErrn3068 ist, den er mit den Kindern1121 Israel3478 gemacht3772 hat.

12 Und er trat5975 vor6440 den Altar4196 des HErrn3068 vor der ganzen Gemeine Israel3478 und breitete6566 seine Hände3709 aus.

13 Denn Salomo8010 hatte6213 eine eherne5178 Kanzel3595 gemacht und gesetzt5414 mitten8432 in die Schranken, fünf2568 Ellen520 lang753 und breit7341 und drei7969 Ellen520 hoch6967; auf5975 dieselbe trat er und fiel nieder1288 auf seine Kniee1290 vor der ganzen Gemeine Israel3478; und breitete6566 seine Hände3709 aus gen Himmel8064

14 und sprach559: HErr3068, GOtt430 Israels3478, es ist kein GOtt430 dir gleich, weder im Himmel8064 noch auf6440 Erden776; der du hältst8104 den Bund1285 und Barmherzigkeit2617 deinen Knechten5650, die vor dir wandeln1980 aus ganzem Herzen3820.

15 Du hast1696 gehalten8104 deinem Knechte5650 David1732, meinem Vater1, was du ihm geredet hast1696; mit deinem Munde6310 hast4390 du es geredet und mit deiner Hand3027 hast du es erfüllet, wie es heutigestages3117 stehet.

16 Nun, HErr3068, GOtt430 Israels3478, halte8104 deinem Knechte5650 David1732, meinem Vater1, was du ihm geredet hast1980 und7535 gesagt1696: Es soll3772 dir nicht gebrechen an einem Manne376 vor mir6440, der auf6440 dem Stuhl3678 Israels3478 sitze3427, doch sofern deine Kinder1121 ihren Weg1870 bewahren8104, daß sie559 wandeln3212 in meinem Gesetz8451, wie du vor mir gewandelt hast.

17 Nun, HErr3068, GOtt430 Israels3478, laß dein Wort1697 wahr werden539, das du deinem Knechte5650 David1732 geredet hast1696.

18 Denn meinest du auch, daß GOtt430 bei den Menschen120 auf Erden776 wohne3427? Siehe, der Himmel8064 und1129 aller Himmel8064 Himmel8064 kann dich nicht versorgen3557; wie sollte es denn das Haus1004 tun, das ich gebauet habe?

19 Wende6437 dich aber, HErr3068, mein GOtt430, zu8085 dem Gebet8605 deines Knechts und5650 zu seinem Flehen8467, daß du erhörest das Bitten7440 und Beten6419, das dein Knecht5650 vor6440 dir tut,

20 daß deine Augen5869 offen6605 seien über dies Haus1004 Tag3119 und Nacht3915, über die Stätte4725, dahin du559 deinen Namen8034 zu stellen geredet hast8085, daß du hörest das Gebet8605, das dein Knecht5650 an dieser Stätte4725 tun7760 wird6419.

21 So höre8085 nun das Flehen8469 deines Knechts und5650 deines Volks5971 Israel3478, das sie bitten6419 werden an dieser Stätte4725; höre8085 es aber von der Stätte4725 deiner Wohnung3427 vom Himmel8064, und wenn du8085 es hörest, wollest du gnädig sein5545.

22 Wenn jemand wider seinen7453 Nächsten sündigen2398 wird, und wird ihm ein376 Eid423 aufgeleget, den er schwören soll422, und der Eid423 kommt935 vor6440 deinen Altar4196 in diesem Hause1004,

23 so wollest du7725 hören8085 vom Himmel8064 und6213 deinem Knechte5650 Recht8199 verschaffen, daß du dem GOttlosen7563 vergeltest und5414 gebest seinen Weg1870 auf seinem Kopf7218 und5414 rechtfertigest den Gerechten6663 und gebest ihm nach seiner Gerechtigkeit6666.

24 Wenn dein Volk5971 Israel3478 vor6440 seinen Feinden341 geschlagen5062 wird2603, weil sie an dir gesündiget haben, und bekehren7725 sich2398 und bekennen3034 deinen Namen8034, bitten6419 und flehen vor6440 dir in diesem Hause1004,

25 so wollest du hören vom Himmel8064 und gnädig sein5545 der Sünde2403 deines Volks5971 Israel3478 und sie wieder7725 in das Land127 bringen; das du ihnen und ihren Vätern1 gegeben5414 hast8085.

26 Wenn der Himmel8064 zugeschlossen wird6113, daß nicht3034 regnet4306, weil sie an dir gesündiget haben, und bitten6419 an dieser Stätte4725 und bekennen deinen Namen8034 und bekehren7725 sich2398 von ihren Sünden2403, weil du sie gedemütiget hast6031,

27 so wollest du hören im Himmel8064 und gnädig sein5545 der Sünde2403 deiner Knechte5650 und deines Volks5971 Israel3478, daß du sie5414 den guten2896 Weg1870 lehrest3384, darinnen sie wandeln3212 sollen, und regnen4306 lassest auf dein Land776, das du deinem Volk5971 gegeben5414 hast8085 zu besitzen5159.

28 Wenn eine Teurung im Lande776 wird oder Pestilenz1698 oder Dürre3420, Brand7711, Heuschrecken697, Raupen2625; oder wenn sein Feind341 im Lande776 seine Tore8179 belagert6887, oder irgend eine Plage5061 oder Krankheit4245:

29 wer dann bittet8605 oder flehet unter allerlei Menschen120 und376 unter all deinem Volk5971 Israel3478, so jemand seine Plage5061 und Schmerzen4341 fühlet und seine Hände3709 ausbreitet6566 zu diesem Hause1004,

30 so wollest du hören8085 vom Himmel8064, vom Sitz4349 deiner Wohnung3427, und376 gnädig sein5545 und jedermann geben5414 nach all seinem Wege1870, nach dem du sein Herz3824 erkennest3045 (denn du allein erkennest3045 das Herz3824 der120 Menschenkinder1121),

31 auf6440 daß sie dich fürchten3372 und wandeln3212 in deinen Wegen1870 alle Tage3117, solange sie leben auf dem Lande127, das du unsern Vätern1 gegeben5414 hast.

32 Wenn auch ein Fremder5237, der nicht von deinem Volk5971 Israel3478 ist935, kommt935 aus fernen7350 Landen776 um deines großen1419 Namens8034 und mächtiger2389 Hand3027 und ausgereckten5186 Arms2220 willen und betet6419 zu diesem Hause1004,

33 so wollest du hören8085 vom Himmel8064, vom Sitz4349 deiner Wohnung, und tun alles, warum er1129 dich3427 anrufet, auf daß alle Völker5971 auf Erden776 deinen Namen8034 erkennen3045 und dich5237 fürchten3372, wie3045 dein Volk5971 Israel3478, und inne werden, daß dies Haus1004, das ich7121 gebauet habe6213, nach deinem Namen8034 genannt7121 sei.

34 Wenn dein Volk5971 auszeucht in Streit4421 wider seine Feinde341 des Weges1870, den du sie1129 senden7971 wirst, und zu dir3318 bitten6419 gegen dem Wege1870 zu dieser Stadt5892, die du erwählet hast977, und zum Hause1004, das ich deinem Namen8034 gebauet habe,

35 so wollest du ihr Gebet8605 und6213 Flehen8467 hören vom Himmel8064 und ihnen zu8085 ihrem Recht4941 helfen.

36 Wenn sie5414 an dir sündigen2398 werden2398 (sintemal kein Mensch120 ist, der nicht sündige), und7617 du über sie erzürnest und gibst sie vor6440 ihren Feinden341, daß sie sie gefangen7617 wegführen in ein fernes7350 oder nahes7138 Land776,

37 und sie559 sich7725 in ihrem Herzen3824 bekehren im Lande776, da sie gefangen7617 innen sind, und bekehren sich7725 und flehen2603 dir im Lande776 ihres Gefängnisses7628 und sprechen: Wir haben2398 gesündiget, missetan und sind gottlos gewesen7561,

38 und sich7725 also von ganzem Herzen3820 und von ganzer See LE5315 zu dir bekehren im Lande ihres Gefängnisses, da man sie gefangen7628 hält7617, und sie beten6419 gegen dem Wege1870 zu ihrem Lande, das776 du ihren Vätern1 gegeben5414 hast977, und zur Stadt5892, die du erwählet hast1129, und zum Hause1004, das776 ich deinem Namen8034 gebauet habe,

39 so wollest du2398 ihr3427 Gebet8605 und Flehen8467 hören vom Himmel8064, vom Sitz4349 deiner Wohnung, und ihnen zu6213 ihrem Recht4941 helfen und deinem Volk5971 gnädig sein5545, das an dir gesündiget hat8085.

40 So laß nun, mein GOtt430, deine Augen5869 offen sein und deine Ohren241 aufmerken auf6605 das Gebet8605 an dieser Stätte4725.

41 So mache dich nun auf6965, HErr3068 GOtt430, zu deiner Ruhe5118, du und3548 die Lade727 deiner Macht5797! Laß deine Priester, HErr3068 GOtt430, mit Heil8668 angetan werden3847, und deine Heiligen2623 sich freuen8055 über dem Guten2896!

42 Du7725, HErr3068 GOtt430, wende nicht weg das Antlitz6440 deines Gesalbten4899; gedenke2142 an die Gnade2617, deinem Knechte5650 David1732 verheißen!

Chapter 6

1 THEN Solomon said, O LORD, thou hast declared that thou wouldst dwell in the thick darkness.

2 But I have built a house of habitation for thee, and a place for thy dwelling for ever.

3 Then the king turned his face and blessed the whole congregation of Israel; and all the congregation of Israel stood.

4 And he said, Blessed be the LORD God of Israel, who spoke with his own mouth to David my father, and with his word has fulfilled that which he had promised, saying,

5 Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt, I chose no city among all the tribes of Israel to build a house in, that my name might be there;

6 But I have chosen Jerusalem that my name might be there; and I have chosen David to be king over my people Israel.

7 Now it was in the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

8 But the LORD said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in your heart to build a house for my name, you did well in that it was in your heart;

9 Nevertheless you shall not build the house for my name, but your son who shall come forth out of your loins, he shall build the house for my name.

10 The LORD therefore has performed his word that he has spoken; for I have risen up in the place of David my father, and I sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and I have built the house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

11 And I have prepared a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD that he made with our fathers when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt.

12 And Solomon stood up before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven;

13 For Solomon had made a bronze platform, five cubits long, five cubits wide, and two cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court; and he went up and stood upon it, and knelt down upon his knees in the presence of all the people of Israel and spread forth his hands in prayer toward heaven,

14 And prayed and said, O LORD God of Israel, there is no one like thee; thou art the LORD who dwellest in heaven above, and thy will is carried out upon the earth below; who keepest covenant and showest mercy to thy servants who walk before thee uprightly with all their hearts;

15 Thou who hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him; and thou didst speak with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thy will, as it is this day.

16 Now therefore, O LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father the promise which thou hast made to him, saying, There shall not fail you a son in my sight to sit upon the throne of Israel; if only your children take heed to their way to walk in my law, as you have walked before me.

17 Now then, O LORD God of Israel, let thy words be confirmed which thou hast spoken to thy servant David.

18 For in truth the LORD has made his dwelling place with his people Israel on the earth. Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!

19 Have regard therefore to the prayer of thy servant and to his supplications, O LORD my God, to hearken to the prayer and the supplication which thy servant prayeth before thee this day;

20 That this house may remain in thy presence, that thou mayest hearken to the prayer of whosoever may come to pray before thee in this house day and night, the place of which thou hast said that thou wouldst put thy habitation there.

21 Hearken therefore to the prayer of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, which they shall pray before thee in this place; hear thou from thy dwelling place, even from heaven; and when thou hearest, forgive.

22 If a man should offend his neighbor, and it is decreed upon him that he should take an oath, and he should come and swear before thy altar in this house;

23 Then hear thou his prayer, even from heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, by requiting the wicked, by bringing his guilt upon his own head; and by justifying the righteous, by rewarding him according to his righteousness.

24 And if thy people Israel are defeated before the enemy because they have sinned against thee, and shall return to thee and confess thy great name, and pray and make supplication before thee in this house;

25 Then hear thou from the heavens and forgive the sins of thy people Israel and bring them again to the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers.

26 And when the heaven is shut up and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; yet if they pray before thee in this place, and confess thy great name and turn from their sins when thou dost afflict them;

27 Then hear thou from heaven their prayer, and forgive the sins of thy servants and of thy people Israel when thou hast taught them the good way in which they should walk; and send rain of blessing upon the land which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance.

28 If there is famine in the land, if there is pestilence or blasting or mildew or locusts or caterpillars; if their enemies besiege them in the cities of their land; whatsoever trouble or whatsoever sickness there be;

29 Then what prayer or what supplication soever shall be made of any man or of all thy people Israel, when every one shall declare his own grief, and shall come and spread forth his hands in this house;

30 Then hear thou from heaven their prayer and forgive their sins, and render to every man according to all his ways, whose heart thou knowest (for thou only knowest the hearts of all the children of men),

31 That they may revere thee, to walk before thee in thy ways so long as they live in the land which thou gavest to their fathers.

32 Moreover concerning the stranger who is not of thy people Israel, but comes from a far country for thy great name's sake and thy mighty hand and thy stretched out arm; if they come and pray before thee on that day in this house;

33 Then hear thou from thy dwelling place, even from heaven, and do according to all that the stranger prays before thee, so that all the peoples of the earth may know thy name and worship before thee, as do thy people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name.

34 If thy people go out to war against their enemies by the way that thou shalt send them, and they pray to thee towards this land which thou hast given to their fathers, or towards this city which thou hast chosen for thyself, or towards the house which I have built for thy name;

35 Then hear thou from the heavens their prayer and their supplication, and plead their cause.

36 If they sin against thee (for there is no man who does not sin), and thou be angry with them and deliver them over to their enemies, and they carry them away captives to a land far off or near;

37 Yet if they pray before thee, and repent in the land to which they were carried captive, saying, We have sinned, we have provoked thee to anger and have dealt wickedly;

38 If they return to thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity to which they were carried captive, and pray toward their land which thou gavest to their fathers and toward the city which thou hast chosen for thyself and toward the house which I have built for thy name;

39 Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people who have sinned against thee.

40 Now, O my God, let thy eyes be open and let thy ears be attentive to the prayer that is made in this place.

41 Now therefore arise, O LORD God, into thy resting place, thou and the ark of thy strength; let thy priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation, and let thy righteous men rejoice in thy goodness.

42 O LORD God, turn not away the face of thy anointed one; remember the mercies of David thy servant.

10 The LORD therefore has performed his word that he has spoken; for I have risen up in the place of David my father, and I sit on the throne of Israel, as the LORD promised, and I have built the house for the name of the LORD God of Israel.

12 And Solomon stood up before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven;

16 Now therefore, O LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father the promise which thou hast made to him, saying, There shall not fail you a son in my sight to sit upon the throne of Israel; if only your children take heed to their way to walk in my law, as you have walked before me.

17 Now then, O LORD God of Israel, let thy words be confirmed which thou hast spoken to thy servant David.

18 Denn meinest du auch, daß GOtt430 bei den Menschen120 auf Erden776 wohne3427? Siehe, der Himmel8064 und1129 aller Himmel8064 Himmel8064 kann dich nicht versorgen3557; wie sollte es denn das Haus1004 tun, das ich gebauet habe?

18 For in truth the LORD has made his dwelling place with his people Israel on the earth. Behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!

19 Wende6437 dich aber, HErr3068, mein GOtt430, zu8085 dem Gebet8605 deines Knechts und5650 zu seinem Flehen8467, daß du erhörest das Bitten7440 und Beten6419, das dein Knecht5650 vor6440 dir tut,

19 Have regard therefore to the prayer of thy servant and to his supplications, O LORD my God, to hearken to the prayer and the supplication which thy servant prayeth before thee this day;

20 daß deine Augen5869 offen6605 seien über dies Haus1004 Tag3119 und Nacht3915, über die Stätte4725, dahin du559 deinen Namen8034 zu stellen geredet hast8085, daß du hörest das Gebet8605, das dein Knecht5650 an dieser Stätte4725 tun7760 wird6419.

20 That this house may remain in thy presence, that thou mayest hearken to the prayer of whosoever may come to pray before thee in this house day and night, the place of which thou hast said that thou wouldst put thy habitation there.

21 So höre8085 nun das Flehen8469 deines Knechts und5650 deines Volks5971 Israel3478, das sie bitten6419 werden an dieser Stätte4725; höre8085 es aber von der Stätte4725 deiner Wohnung3427 vom Himmel8064, und wenn du8085 es hörest, wollest du gnädig sein5545.

21 Hearken therefore to the prayer of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, which they shall pray before thee in this place; hear thou from thy dwelling place, even from heaven; and when thou hearest, forgive.

22 Wenn jemand wider seinen7453 Nächsten sündigen2398 wird, und wird ihm ein376 Eid423 aufgeleget, den er schwören soll422, und der Eid423 kommt935 vor6440 deinen Altar4196 in diesem Hause1004,

22 If a man should offend his neighbor, and it is decreed upon him that he should take an oath, and he should come and swear before thy altar in this house;

23 so wollest du7725 hören8085 vom Himmel8064 und6213 deinem Knechte5650 Recht8199 verschaffen, daß du dem GOttlosen7563 vergeltest und5414 gebest seinen Weg1870 auf seinem Kopf7218 und5414 rechtfertigest den Gerechten6663 und gebest ihm nach seiner Gerechtigkeit6666.

23 Then hear thou his prayer, even from heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, by requiting the wicked, by bringing his guilt upon his own head; and by justifying the righteous, by rewarding him according to his righteousness.

24 Wenn dein Volk5971 Israel3478 vor6440 seinen Feinden341 geschlagen5062 wird2603, weil sie an dir gesündiget haben, und bekehren7725 sich2398 und bekennen3034 deinen Namen8034, bitten6419 und flehen vor6440 dir in diesem Hause1004,

24 And if thy people Israel are defeated before the enemy because they have sinned against thee, and shall return to thee and confess thy great name, and pray and make supplication before thee in this house;

25 so wollest du hören vom Himmel8064 und gnädig sein5545 der Sünde2403 deines Volks5971 Israel3478 und sie wieder7725 in das Land127 bringen; das du ihnen und ihren Vätern1 gegeben5414 hast8085.

25 Then hear thou from the heavens and forgive the sins of thy people Israel and bring them again to the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers.

26 Wenn der Himmel8064 zugeschlossen wird6113, daß nicht3034 regnet4306, weil sie an dir gesündiget haben, und bitten6419 an dieser Stätte4725 und bekennen deinen Namen8034 und bekehren7725 sich2398 von ihren Sünden2403, weil du sie gedemütiget hast6031,

26 And when the heaven is shut up and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; yet if they pray before thee in this place, and confess thy great name and turn from their sins when thou dost afflict them;

27 so wollest du hören im Himmel8064 und gnädig sein5545 der Sünde2403 deiner Knechte5650 und deines Volks5971 Israel3478, daß du sie5414 den guten2896 Weg1870 lehrest3384, darinnen sie wandeln3212 sollen, und regnen4306 lassest auf dein Land776, das du deinem Volk5971 gegeben5414 hast8085 zu besitzen5159.

27 Then hear thou from heaven their prayer, and forgive the sins of thy servants and of thy people Israel when thou hast taught them the good way in which they should walk; and send rain of blessing upon the land which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance.

28 Wenn eine Teurung im Lande776 wird oder Pestilenz1698 oder Dürre3420, Brand7711, Heuschrecken697, Raupen2625; oder wenn sein Feind341 im Lande776 seine Tore8179 belagert6887, oder irgend eine Plage5061 oder Krankheit4245:

28 If there is famine in the land, if there is pestilence or blasting or mildew or locusts or caterpillars; if their enemies besiege them in the cities of their land; whatsoever trouble or whatsoever sickness there be;

29 wer dann bittet8605 oder flehet unter allerlei Menschen120 und376 unter all deinem Volk5971 Israel3478, so jemand seine Plage5061 und Schmerzen4341 fühlet und seine Hände3709 ausbreitet6566 zu diesem Hause1004,

29 Then what prayer or what supplication soever shall be made of any man or of all thy people Israel, when every one shall declare his own grief, and shall come and spread forth his hands in this house;

30 Then hear thou from heaven their prayer and forgive their sins, and render to every man according to all his ways, whose heart thou knowest (for thou only knowest the hearts of all the children of men),

31 auf6440 daß sie dich fürchten3372 und wandeln3212 in deinen Wegen1870 alle Tage3117, solange sie leben auf dem Lande127, das du unsern Vätern1 gegeben5414 hast.

31 That they may revere thee, to walk before thee in thy ways so long as they live in the land which thou gavest to their fathers.

32 Wenn auch ein Fremder5237, der nicht von deinem Volk5971 Israel3478 ist935, kommt935 aus fernen7350 Landen776 um deines großen1419 Namens8034 und mächtiger2389 Hand3027 und ausgereckten5186 Arms2220 willen und betet6419 zu diesem Hause1004,

32 Moreover concerning the stranger who is not of thy people Israel, but comes from a far country for thy great name's sake and thy mighty hand and thy stretched out arm; if they come and pray before thee on that day in this house;

33 so wollest du hören8085 vom Himmel8064, vom Sitz4349 deiner Wohnung, und tun alles, warum er1129 dich3427 anrufet, auf daß alle Völker5971 auf Erden776 deinen Namen8034 erkennen3045 und dich5237 fürchten3372, wie3045 dein Volk5971 Israel3478, und inne werden, daß dies Haus1004, das ich7121 gebauet habe6213, nach deinem Namen8034 genannt7121 sei.

33 Then hear thou from thy dwelling place, even from heaven, and do according to all that the stranger prays before thee, so that all the peoples of the earth may know thy name and worship before thee, as do thy people Israel, and that they may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name.

34 Wenn dein Volk5971 auszeucht in Streit4421 wider seine Feinde341 des Weges1870, den du sie1129 senden7971 wirst, und zu dir3318 bitten6419 gegen dem Wege1870 zu dieser Stadt5892, die du erwählet hast977, und zum Hause1004, das ich deinem Namen8034 gebauet habe,

34 If thy people go out to war against their enemies by the way that thou shalt send them, and they pray to thee towards this land which thou hast given to their fathers, or towards this city which thou hast chosen for thyself, or towards the house which I have built for thy name;

35 so wollest du ihr Gebet8605 und6213 Flehen8467 hören vom Himmel8064 und ihnen zu8085 ihrem Recht4941 helfen.

35 Then hear thou from the heavens their prayer and their supplication, and plead their cause.

36 Wenn sie5414 an dir sündigen2398 werden2398 (sintemal kein Mensch120 ist, der nicht sündige), und7617 du über sie erzürnest und gibst sie vor6440 ihren Feinden341, daß sie sie gefangen7617 wegführen in ein fernes7350 oder nahes7138 Land776,

36 If they sin against thee (for there is no man who does not sin), and thou be angry with them and deliver them over to their enemies, and they carry them away captives to a land far off or near;

37 und sie559 sich7725 in ihrem Herzen3824 bekehren im Lande776, da sie gefangen7617 innen sind, und bekehren sich7725 und flehen2603 dir im Lande776 ihres Gefängnisses7628 und sprechen: Wir haben2398 gesündiget, missetan und sind gottlos gewesen7561,

37 Yet if they pray before thee, and repent in the land to which they were carried captive, saying, We have sinned, we have provoked thee to anger and have dealt wickedly;

38 und sich7725 also von ganzem Herzen3820 und von ganzer See LE5315 zu dir bekehren im Lande ihres Gefängnisses, da man sie gefangen7628 hält7617, und sie beten6419 gegen dem Wege1870 zu ihrem Lande, das776 du ihren Vätern1 gegeben5414 hast977, und zur Stadt5892, die du erwählet hast1129, und zum Hause1004, das776 ich deinem Namen8034 gebauet habe,

38 If they return to thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity to which they were carried captive, and pray toward their land which thou gavest to their fathers and toward the city which thou hast chosen for thyself and toward the house which I have built for thy name;

39 so wollest du2398 ihr3427 Gebet8605 und Flehen8467 hören vom Himmel8064, vom Sitz4349 deiner Wohnung, und ihnen zu6213 ihrem Recht4941 helfen und deinem Volk5971 gnädig sein5545, das an dir gesündiget hat8085.

39 Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people who have sinned against thee.

40 So laß nun, mein GOtt430, deine Augen5869 offen sein und deine Ohren241 aufmerken auf6605 das Gebet8605 an dieser Stätte4725.

40 Now, O my God, let thy eyes be open and let thy ears be attentive to the prayer that is made in this place.

41 So mache dich nun auf6965, HErr3068 GOtt430, zu deiner Ruhe5118, du und3548 die Lade727 deiner Macht5797! Laß deine Priester, HErr3068 GOtt430, mit Heil8668 angetan werden3847, und deine Heiligen2623 sich freuen8055 über dem Guten2896!

41 Now therefore arise, O LORD God, into thy resting place, thou and the ark of thy strength; let thy priests, O LORD God, be clothed with salvation, and let thy righteous men rejoice in thy goodness.

42 O LORD God, turn not away the face of thy anointed one; remember the mercies of David thy servant.
