Глава 15

1 Самуил сказал Саулу: «Меня ГОСПОДЬ направил помазать тебя в цари над народом Его, Израилем. Так прислушайся теперь к словам ГОСПОДНИМ!

2 Вот что говорит ГОСПОДЬ Воинств: „Я припомню Амалеку то, что он сделал Израилю: встал у него на пути, когда тот шел из Египта.

3 Иди и разгроми Амалека, уничтожь, предав заклятию, всё, что у него есть. Не щади никого, предай смерти мужчин и женщин, детей и младенцев, быков и овец, верблюдов и ослов!“»

4 Саул собрал войско и выстроил в Телаиме двести тысяч пеших израильтян и десять тысяч иудеев.

5 Подойдя к городу амалекитян, Саул устроил в долине засаду.

6 Он объявил кенеям: «Уходите отсюда, покиньте амалекитян, чтобы я не истребил вас вместе с ними. Ведь вы по-доброму поступили с израильтянами, когда те шли из Египта». И кенеи оставили город, ушли от амалекитян.

7 Саул нанес Амалеку поражение на всем пути от Хавилы до Шура на границе с Египтом.

8 Царя амалекского Агага он захватил живым, а весь его народ, предав заклятию, перебил мечом.

9 Но плененного Агага Саул и его подданные пощадили, как пощадили и ягнят и лучший, откормленный скот из отар и стад. Всё ценное они истреблять не стали, а уничтожили лишь худшее, никчемное.

10 И было Самуилу слово ГОСПОДНЕ:

11 «Напрасно Я поставил царем Саула, он отступился от Меня и слов Моих не исполнил». Самуил был сильно расстроен и всю ночь взывал к ГОСПОДУ.

12 А рано утром Самуил вышел навстречу Саулу. Тем временем Самуилу рассказали: «Саул ходил в селение Кармил, чтобы поставить там себе памятник, а на обратном пути спустился в Гилгал».

13 Когда Самуил пришел к Саулу, тот сказал ему: «Да пребудет с тобой благословение ГОСПОДНЕ! Я исполнил слово ГОСПОДА».

14 «Тогда что за блеяние овец и мычание коров я слышу?» — возразил Самуил.

15 Саул ответил: «Мы забрали их у амалекитян; народ пощадил лучший скот в отарах и стадах, чтобы принести в жертву ГОСПОДУ, Богу твоему, а прочий мы перебили, предав заклятию».

16 «Погоди, — сказал ему Самуил, — я возвещу тебе, что мне сказал ГОСПОДЬ этой ночью». «Говори!» — ответил Саул.

17 И сказал Самуил: «Хотя ты и был незначителен в собственных глазах, разве не стал ты во главе колен Израилевых? Разве ГОСПОДЬ не помазал тебя в цари над Израилем?

18 ГОСПОДЬ отправил тебя в поход, повелел пойти и истребить, предав заклятию, нечестивых амалекитян, воевать с ними, пока не будут они уничтожены.

19 Отчего ты не послушался ГОСПОДА, бросился грабить и сотворил то, что было злом в глазах ГОСПОДА?»

20 Саул ответил Самуилу: «Я послушался ГОСПОДА и выступил в поход, пошел туда, куда направил меня ГОСПОДЬ. Я привел Агага, царя амалекского, а амалекитян истребил.

21 Народ же взял из добычи овец и коров, лучшее из заклятого, чтобы принести жертву ГОСПОДУ, Богу твоему, в Гилгале».

22 Самуил сказал: «Разве всесожжения и жертвы ГОСПОДУ приятнее повиновения голосу Его? Нет, послушание лучше жертвы, лучше повиноваться ГОСПОДУ, чем воскурять бараний жир!

23 Ведь непокорство — такой же грех, как ворожба, а своеволие — такое же зло, что и идолопоклонство. Ты отверг слово ГОСПОДНЕ — и ГОСПОДЬ отверг тебя, отрешил от царства».

24 Саул ответил Самуилу: «Да, я согрешил и преступил повеление ГОСПОДНЕ и твой запрет. Я устрашился народа, потому и послушался его.

25 Но теперь, прошу, прости мой грех, вернемся вместе, и я поклонюсь ГОСПОДУ».

26 Самуил сказал Саулу: «Нет, я не вернусь с тобой, потому что ты отверг слово ГОСПОДНЕ, и ГОСПОДЬ отверг тебя, отрешил от царства Израильского».

27 Самуил повернулся, чтобы идти прочь, но тот ухватил его за полу одежды и оторвал ее.

28 А Самуил сказал ему: «Сегодня ГОСПОДЬ так вырвал у тебя царство Израильское, чтобы отдать ближнему твоему, тому, кто лучше тебя.

29 Не может обмануть Дарующий победу Израилю и раскаяться, ведь Он не человек, чтобы раскаиваться».

30 Саул ответил: «Я согрешил, но прошу, уважь меня перед старейшинами и всем народом Израиля, вернемся вместе, и я поклонюсь ГОСПОДУ, Богу твоему».

31 Тогда Самуил вернулся вслед за Саулом, и Саул поклонился ГОСПОДУ.

32 Самуил сказал: «Приведите мне Агага, царя амалекского!» Агаг подошел к нему на дрожащих ногах, сказав про себя: «Наверно, миновал горький час моей смерти?»

33 Но Самуил сказал: «Твой меч отбирал у женщин сынов — и у женщины, матери твоей, сына отберут!» И Самуил изрубил Агага перед ГОСПОДОМ в Гилгале.

34 Затем Самуил отправился в Раму, а Саул вернулся к себе домой, в Гиву Саулову.

35 С тех пор Самуил не виделся с Саулом до дня своей смерти, но скорбел о Сауле, а ГОСПОДЬ сожалел, что поставил Саула царем над Израилем.

Chapter 15

1 SAMUEL said to Saul, The LORD sent me to anoint you to be king over his people Israel. Now therefore hearken to the voice of the words of the LORD.

2 Thus says the LORD Of hosts, I remember what Amalek did to Israel on their journey when they were coming up out of Egypt.

3 Now go and smite the Amalekites, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both men and women, young people and infants, oxen and sheep, camels and asses.

4 And Saul summoned the people to war, and he numbered them in Telaye, two hundred thousand footmen and ten thousand men of Judah.

5 And Saul came to a city of the Amalekites, and issued a directive in the valley.

6 And Saul said to the Kenites, Turn aside, depart, get you down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them; for you showed kindness to all the children of Israel when they came up out of Egypt. So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.

7 And Saul smote the Amalekites from Havilah as far as Shur, which is over near Egypt.

8 And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.

9 But Saul and the people spared King Agag and the best of the sheep and of the oxen and of the fatlings and the stall-fed beasts and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them; but everything that was vile and despised in their sight, that they destroyed utterly.

10 Then the word of the LORD came to Samuel, saying,

11 I regret that I have made Saul king; for he has turned back from following me, and has not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he prayed before the LORD all night.

12 And when Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying, Saul has come to Carmel, and, behold, he has set up a dwelling place for himself, and has turned and passed on and gone down to Gilgal.

13 And Samuel came to Saul; and Saul said to him, Blessed be the LORD, who has performed his commandment.

14 And Samuel said, What then is this bleating of the sheep in my ears and the lowing of the oxen that I hear?

15 And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites; for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, and brought them to sacrifice to the LORD your God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed.

16 Then Samuel said to Saul, Be still, and I will tell you what the LORD has said to me this night. And Saul said to him, Say on.

17 And Samuel said to Saul, Behold, even though you were little in your own eyes; nevertheless you were made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed you king over Israel.

18 And the LORD sent you on a mission, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners, the Amalekites, and fight against them until they are consumed.

19 Why then did you not obey the voice of the LORD, but have spared the plunder, and have done evil in the sight of the LORD?

20 And Saul said to Samuel, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone on the mission on which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of the Amalekites, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.

21 But the people took some of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the best of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice to the LORD your God in Gilgal.

22 And Samuel said, The LORD is not as well pleased with burnt offerings and sacrifices as with one who obeys his voice. Behold, to obey is better than sacrifices, and to hearken, than the fat of rams.

23 For divination is a rebellion, and divination is a grievous iniquity. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has also rejected you from being king.

24 And Saul said to Samuel, I have sinned; for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.

25 Now therefore, pardon my sin, and return with me, that I may worship the LORD.

26 And Samuel said to Saul, I will not return home with you; for you have rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD has rejected you from being king over Israel.

27 And as Samuel turned about to go away, Saul laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it tore.

28 And Samuel said to him, The LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day, and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you.

29 And also his Excellency the LORD of Israel will not lie nor seek counsel; for he is not a human being, that he should seek counsel.

30 Then Saul said, I have sinned; yet honor me now before the elders of my people and before Israel, and return again with me, that I may worship the LORD your God.

31 So Samuel returned again with Saul, and Saul worshipped the LORD.

32 Then said Samuel, Bring Agag the king of the Amalekites here to me. And Agag said, Surely death is bitter.

33 And Samuel said, As your sword has made women childless, so shall your mother be childless among women. And Samuel cut King Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal.

34 Then Samuel went to Ramtha; and Saul went up to his house to Ramtha of Saul.

35 And Samuel saw Saul no more until the day of his death; nevertheless, Samuel grieved for Saul; and the LORD regretted that he had made Saul king over Israel.

2 Thus says the LORD Of hosts, I remember what Amalek did to Israel on their journey when they were coming up out of Egypt.

3 Иди и разгроми Амалека, уничтожь, предав заклятию, всё, что у него есть. Не щади никого, предай смерти мужчин и женщин, детей и младенцев, быков и овец, верблюдов и ослов!“»

3 Now go and smite the Amalekites, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both men and women, young people and infants, oxen and sheep, camels and asses.

4 Саул собрал войско и выстроил в Телаиме двести тысяч пеших израильтян и десять тысяч иудеев.

4 And Saul summoned the people to war, and he numbered them in Telaye, two hundred thousand footmen and ten thousand men of Judah.

5 And Saul came to a city of the Amalekites, and issued a directive in the valley.

6 And Saul said to the Kenites, Turn aside, depart, get you down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them; for you showed kindness to all the children of Israel when they came up out of Egypt. So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.

7 Саул нанес Амалеку поражение на всем пути от Хавилы до Шура на границе с Египтом.

7 And Saul smote the Amalekites from Havilah as far as Shur, which is over near Egypt.

8 Царя амалекского Агага он захватил живым, а весь его народ, предав заклятию, перебил мечом.

8 And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.

9 Но плененного Агага Саул и его подданные пощадили, как пощадили и ягнят и лучший, откормленный скот из отар и стад. Всё ценное они истреблять не стали, а уничтожили лишь худшее, никчемное.

9 But Saul and the people spared King Agag and the best of the sheep and of the oxen and of the fatlings and the stall-fed beasts and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them; but everything that was vile and despised in their sight, that they destroyed utterly.

10 И было Самуилу слово ГОСПОДНЕ:

10 Then the word of the LORD came to Samuel, saying,

11 «Напрасно Я поставил царем Саула, он отступился от Меня и слов Моих не исполнил». Самуил был сильно расстроен и всю ночь взывал к ГОСПОДУ.

11 I regret that I have made Saul king; for he has turned back from following me, and has not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he prayed before the LORD all night.

12 А рано утром Самуил вышел навстречу Саулу. Тем временем Самуилу рассказали: «Саул ходил в селение Кармил, чтобы поставить там себе памятник, а на обратном пути спустился в Гилгал».

12 And when Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying, Saul has come to Carmel, and, behold, he has set up a dwelling place for himself, and has turned and passed on and gone down to Gilgal.

13 Когда Самуил пришел к Саулу, тот сказал ему: «Да пребудет с тобой благословение ГОСПОДНЕ! Я исполнил слово ГОСПОДА».

13 And Samuel came to Saul; and Saul said to him, Blessed be the LORD, who has performed his commandment.

14 «Тогда что за блеяние овец и мычание коров я слышу?» — возразил Самуил.

14 And Samuel said, What then is this bleating of the sheep in my ears and the lowing of the oxen that I hear?

15 Саул ответил: «Мы забрали их у амалекитян; народ пощадил лучший скот в отарах и стадах, чтобы принести в жертву ГОСПОДУ, Богу твоему, а прочий мы перебили, предав заклятию».

15 And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites; for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, and brought them to sacrifice to the LORD your God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed.

16 «Погоди, — сказал ему Самуил, — я возвещу тебе, что мне сказал ГОСПОДЬ этой ночью». «Говори!» — ответил Саул.

16 Then Samuel said to Saul, Be still, and I will tell you what the LORD has said to me this night. And Saul said to him, Say on.

17 И сказал Самуил: «Хотя ты и был незначителен в собственных глазах, разве не стал ты во главе колен Израилевых? Разве ГОСПОДЬ не помазал тебя в цари над Израилем?

17 And Samuel said to Saul, Behold, even though you were little in your own eyes; nevertheless you were made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed you king over Israel.

18 ГОСПОДЬ отправил тебя в поход, повелел пойти и истребить, предав заклятию, нечестивых амалекитян, воевать с ними, пока не будут они уничтожены.

18 And the LORD sent you on a mission, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners, the Amalekites, and fight against them until they are consumed.

19 Отчего ты не послушался ГОСПОДА, бросился грабить и сотворил то, что было злом в глазах ГОСПОДА?»

19 Why then did you not obey the voice of the LORD, but have spared the plunder, and have done evil in the sight of the LORD?

20 Саул ответил Самуилу: «Я послушался ГОСПОДА и выступил в поход, пошел туда, куда направил меня ГОСПОДЬ. Я привел Агага, царя амалекского, а амалекитян истребил.

20 And Saul said to Samuel, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone on the mission on which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of the Amalekites, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.

21 Народ же взял из добычи овец и коров, лучшее из заклятого, чтобы принести жертву ГОСПОДУ, Богу твоему, в Гилгале».

21 But the people took some of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the best of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice to the LORD your God in Gilgal.

22 Самуил сказал: «Разве всесожжения и жертвы ГОСПОДУ приятнее повиновения голосу Его? Нет, послушание лучше жертвы, лучше повиноваться ГОСПОДУ, чем воскурять бараний жир!

22 And Samuel said, The LORD is not as well pleased with burnt offerings and sacrifices as with one who obeys his voice. Behold, to obey is better than sacrifices, and to hearken, than the fat of rams.

23 Ведь непокорство — такой же грех, как ворожба, а своеволие — такое же зло, что и идолопоклонство. Ты отверг слово ГОСПОДНЕ — и ГОСПОДЬ отверг тебя, отрешил от царства».

23 For divination is a rebellion, and divination is a grievous iniquity. Because you have rejected the word of the LORD, he has also rejected you from being king.

24 Саул ответил Самуилу: «Да, я согрешил и преступил повеление ГОСПОДНЕ и твой запрет. Я устрашился народа, потому и послушался его.

24 And Saul said to Samuel, I have sinned; for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD and your words, because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.

25 Но теперь, прошу, прости мой грех, вернемся вместе, и я поклонюсь ГОСПОДУ».

25 Now therefore, pardon my sin, and return with me, that I may worship the LORD.

26 Самуил сказал Саулу: «Нет, я не вернусь с тобой, потому что ты отверг слово ГОСПОДНЕ, и ГОСПОДЬ отверг тебя, отрешил от царства Израильского».

26 And Samuel said to Saul, I will not return home with you; for you have rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD has rejected you from being king over Israel.

27 Самуил повернулся, чтобы идти прочь, но тот ухватил его за полу одежды и оторвал ее.

27 And as Samuel turned about to go away, Saul laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it tore.

28 А Самуил сказал ему: «Сегодня ГОСПОДЬ так вырвал у тебя царство Израильское, чтобы отдать ближнему твоему, тому, кто лучше тебя.

28 And Samuel said to him, The LORD has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day, and has given it to a neighbor of yours, who is better than you.

29 Не может обмануть Дарующий победу Израилю и раскаяться, ведь Он не человек, чтобы раскаиваться».

29 And also his Excellency the LORD of Israel will not lie nor seek counsel; for he is not a human being, that he should seek counsel.

30 Саул ответил: «Я согрешил, но прошу, уважь меня перед старейшинами и всем народом Израиля, вернемся вместе, и я поклонюсь ГОСПОДУ, Богу твоему».

30 Then Saul said, I have sinned; yet honor me now before the elders of my people and before Israel, and return again with me, that I may worship the LORD your God.

31 Тогда Самуил вернулся вслед за Саулом, и Саул поклонился ГОСПОДУ.

31 So Samuel returned again with Saul, and Saul worshipped the LORD.

32 Самуил сказал: «Приведите мне Агага, царя амалекского!» Агаг подошел к нему на дрожащих ногах, сказав про себя: «Наверно, миновал горький час моей смерти?»

32 Then said Samuel, Bring Agag the king of the Amalekites here to me. And Agag said, Surely death is bitter.

33 Но Самуил сказал: «Твой меч отбирал у женщин сынов — и у женщины, матери твоей, сына отберут!» И Самуил изрубил Агага перед ГОСПОДОМ в Гилгале.

33 And Samuel said, As your sword has made women childless, so shall your mother be childless among women. And Samuel cut King Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal.

34 Then Samuel went to Ramtha; and Saul went up to his house to Ramtha of Saul.

35 С тех пор Самуил не виделся с Саулом до дня своей смерти, но скорбел о Сауле, а ГОСПОДЬ сожалел, что поставил Саула царем над Израилем.

35 And Samuel saw Saul no more until the day of his death; nevertheless, Samuel grieved for Saul; and the LORD regretted that he had made Saul king over Israel.
