Глава 17

1 Надломлен мой дух, кончаются мои дни, меня ждёт могила.

2 Поистине, рядом со мной насмешники, вижу, как они издеваются.

3 Заступись за меня Сам перед Собой. Кто другой за меня поручится?

4 Ты закрыл разум моих друзей от понимания, поэтому и не дашь им торжествовать.

5 У того, кто друзей оговаривает за плату, – дети ослабеют глазами.

6 Всевышний сделал меня притчей во языцех, тем, кому люди плюют в лицо.

7 Помутились от горя мои глаза, и всё тело моё стало как тень.

8 Ужаснутся этому праведные, и невинные вознегодуют на безбожников.

9 Но своего пути будет держаться праведный, и тот, чьи руки чисты, будет больше и больше утверждаться.

10 Ну, а вы – попробуйте снова! Я не найду среди вас мудреца.

11 Мои дни прошли, надежды разбиты, желания сердца мертвы,

12 а эти люди ночь превращают в день; «Свет, – говорят они, – тьме сродни».

13 Если дом мой – мир мёртвых, если я во мгле его расстелю постель

14 и скажу гробу: «Ты мне отец», а червям: «Ты мне мать, ну, а ты – сестра»,

15 то где же моя надежда? Кто надежду мою увидит?

16 Она сойдёт к воротам мира мёртвых, вместе со мной ляжет в прах.

1 My breath7307 is corrupt,2254 my days3117 are extinct,2193 the graves6913 are ready for me.

2 Are there not mockers2049 with me? and does not my eye5869 continue3885 in their provocation?4784

3 Lay7760 down now,4994 put me in a surety6148 with you; who4310 is he that will strike8628 hands3027 with me?

4 For you have hid6845 their heart3820 from understanding:7922 therefore5921 3651 shall you not exalt7311 them.

5 He that speaks5046 flattery2506 to his friends,7453 even the eyes5869 of his children1121 shall fail.3615

6 He has made3322 me also a byword4914 of the people;5971 and aforetime6440 I was as a tabret.8611

7 My eye5869 also is dim3543 by reason of sorrow,3708 and all3605 my members3338 are as a shadow.6738

8 Upright3477 men shall be astonished8074 at5921 this,2063 and the innocent5355 shall stir5782 up himself against5921 the hypocrite.2611

9 The righteous6662 also shall hold270 on his way,1870 and he that has clean2891 hands3027 shall be stronger555 and stronger.

10 But as for you all,3605 do you return,7725 and come935 now:4994 for I cannot3808 find4672 one wise2450 man among you.

11 My days3117 are past,5674 my purposes2154 are broken5423 off, even the thoughts4180 of my heart.3824

12 They change7760 the night3915 into day:3117 the light216 is short7138 because6440 of darkness.2822

13 If518 I wait,6960 the grave7585 is my house:1004 I have made7502 my bed3326 in the darkness.2822

14 I have said7121 to corruption,7845 You are my father:1 to the worm,7415 You are my mother,517 and my sister.269
