Глава 3

1 На все есть время, и всякой вещи под небом своя пора.

2 Назначено время, когда родиться, и время, когда умереть; время, когда садить, и время, когда вырывать посаженное;

3 Время, когда убивать, и время, когда врачевать; время, когда разрушать, и время, когда строить.

4 Время, когда плакать, и время, когда смеяться; время, когда сетовать, и время, когда плясать;

5 Время, когда бросать каменья, и время, когда собирать каменья; время, когда обнимать, и время, когда удаляться от объятий;

6 Время, когда находить, и время когда терять; время, когда сберегать, и время, когда бросать;

7 Время, когда раздирать, и время, когда сшивать; время, когда молчать, и время, когда говорить;

8 Время, когда любить, и время, когда ненавидеть; время брани и время мира.

9 Какую выгоду действующий имеет в том, над чем он трудится?

10 Видел я эту муку, какую дал Бог сынам человеческим, чтоб они смирились в ней.

11 Он сделал все прекрасным в свое время; и притом вложил вечность в сердце их; хотя человек не постигает дела, которое делает Бог, от начала до конца.

12 Я узнал, что для них нет ничего лучше, как радоваться и делать добро в жизни своей,

13 И что притом, если какой человек ест и пьет и наслаждается благом во всяком труде своем, то это дар Божий.

14 Я узнал, что все, что Бог делает, вечно пребывает тем же: к тому прибавить нечего, и отнять от того нечего; и Бог делает это, чтобы благоговели пред Ним.

15 Что уже было, то и теперь есть; и чему быть, то уже было; и Бог опять воззывает протекшее.

16 Еще я видел вот что под этим солнцем: место суда, а там беззаконие: место правды, а там неправда.

17 Я сказал в сердце своем: праведного и нечестивого Бог будет судить, ибо время всякой вещи и всякому делу там,

18 Касательно сынов человеческих, я сказал в сердце своем: на то есть Бог, чтобы разделить их, и чтобы видели, что они - скот в себе самих.

19 Ибо участь сынов человеческих и участь скотов, одна и та же участь их; как умирают эти, так умирают те, - и дух один у всех, и нет человеку преимущества перед скотами.

20 Все это в одно место идет, все это произошло из персти, и все это возвратится в персть.

21 Кто знает дух сынов человеческих, который к горе восходит, и дух скота, который вниз, в землю идет?

22 Итак видел я, что нет ничего лучше, как веселиться человеку в делах своих: ибо это его участок; да и кто приведет его посмотреть на то, что будет после него?

Chapter 3

1 TO everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under the sun:

2 A time to be born and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

3 A time to kill and a time to heal; a time to tear down and a time to build up;

4 A time to weep and a time to laugh; a time to mourn and a time to dance;

5 A time to cast away stones and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing;

6 A time to lose and a time to seek; a time to tie up and a time to untie;

7 A time to rend and a time to sew; a time to keep silent and a time to speak;

8 A time to love and a time to hate; a time for war and a time for peace.

9 What profit has the worker in his labor?

10 I have seen the toil which the LORD has given to the sons of men to be engaged therewith.

11 He has made everything beautiful in its time; also he has made the world dear to man's heart, so that no man can find out the works which the LORD has done from the beginning to the end.

12 I know that there is no good in worldly things, but for men to rejoice and to do good in their lives.

13 And also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor; it is the gift of the LORD.

14 I know that whatsoever the LORD does, it shall be for ever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it; and the LORD has so made it that men should reverence him.

15 That which is now, already has been; and that which is to be, has already been; and God will avenge him who has been persecuted.

16 And moreover, I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and in the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.

17 I said in my heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked; for there is a time for every purpose and for every work.

18 I meditated in my heart concerning the estate of the sons of men whom God had created, and saw that they are like beasts.

19 For the same misfortune which befalls the sons of men befalls beasts; even one misfortune befalls them: as the one dies, so dies the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that man has no preeminence over the beast; for all is vanity.

20 All go to one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

21 Who knows whether the spirit of men goes upward and the spirit of the beasts goes downward under the earth?

22 Wherefore I saw that there is nothing better in them but that man should rejoice in his works; for that is his portion; for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

9 Какую выгоду действующий имеет в том, над чем он трудится?

9 What profit has the worker in his labor?

10 Видел я эту муку, какую дал Бог сынам человеческим, чтоб они смирились в ней.

12 I know that there is no good in worldly things, but for men to rejoice and to do good in their lives.

13 И что притом, если какой человек ест и пьет и наслаждается благом во всяком труде своем, то это дар Божий.

13 And also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor; it is the gift of the LORD.

14 Я узнал, что все, что Бог делает, вечно пребывает тем же: к тому прибавить нечего, и отнять от того нечего; и Бог делает это, чтобы благоговели пред Ним.

14 I know that whatsoever the LORD does, it shall be for ever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it; and the LORD has so made it that men should reverence him.

15 Что уже было, то и теперь есть; и чему быть, то уже было; и Бог опять воззывает протекшее.

15 That which is now, already has been; and that which is to be, has already been; and God will avenge him who has been persecuted.

16 Еще я видел вот что под этим солнцем: место суда, а там беззаконие: место правды, а там неправда.

17 Я сказал в сердце своем: праведного и нечестивого Бог будет судить, ибо время всякой вещи и всякому делу там,

18 Касательно сынов человеческих, я сказал в сердце своем: на то есть Бог, чтобы разделить их, и чтобы видели, что они - скот в себе самих.

19 Ибо участь сынов человеческих и участь скотов, одна и та же участь их; как умирают эти, так умирают те, - и дух один у всех, и нет человеку преимущества перед скотами.
