Книга Иова

Глава 37

1 «Меня пугают раскаты грома, и от отблесков молнии сердце моё трепещет.

2 Слушайте, слушайте все!

3 Господь посылает молнии, чтоб осветить всё небо, и этот свет озаряет землю всю.

4 И после вспышек молний слышен грохочущий голос Господа. Когда сверкают молнии, громоподобный голос звучит Господний.

5 Прекрасен голос Господа, Он совершает великие дела, которые понять мы неспособны.

6 Господь скажет снегу: „Пади на землю”. Он велит дождю: „Пролейся”.

7 Господь поступает так, чтобы все, сотворённые Им, знали, что Он всё это может совершить.

8 Звери прячутся в логовищах и остаются в них.

9 Смерчи приходят с юга, а холодные ветры дуют с севера.

10 От дыхания Господа образуется лёд, и замораживает океаны Он.

11 Наполняет Господь водою тучи и рассылает повсюду.

12 Повелевает Он тучам плыть над землёю, и тучи делают всё, что Господь велит.

13 Господь насылает тучи, чтоб наказать людей наводнением или дать людям воду, чтобы любовь Свою им показать.

14 Иов, остановись и послушай о прекрасных делах Господних.

15 Знаешь ли ты, Иов, как Господь управляет тучами, как Он заставляет молнии сверкать?

16 Знаешь ли ты, как в небе держатся тучи? Они — лишь один пример чудес Господних, Который знает всё обо всём.

17 Но ты не знаешь этого, Иов, ты знаешь только то, что потом покрываешься и липнет на тебе одежда. Всё тихо и спокойно, когда с юга прилетают горячие ветры.

18 Иов, ты можешь Господу помочь раскинуть небеса, чтобы они сияли как ослепительные зеркала?

19 Скажи нам, Иов, что Господу необходимо нам сказать? Мы не можем придумать, так как у нас недостаточно знаний.

20 Я бы Господу не сказал, что я хочу с Ним говорить. Это то же самое, что просить о смерти.

21 Человек не может на солнце смотреть — слишком ярко оно сияет в небе, когда ветер разнёс облака.

22 Так и золотая слава Господняя со Святой горы сияет. Он окружён ослепляющим светом.

23 Мы знаем, что Всемогущий воистину велик, Он добр и справедлив.

24 Поэтому и почитают люди Бога, но Бог не любит гордецов, считающих себя мудрее всех».

2 Hear8085 attentively8085 the noise7267 of his voice,6963 and the sound1899 that goes3318 out of his mouth.6310

3 He directs3474 it under8478 the whole3605 heaven,8064 and his lightning216 to the ends3671 of the earth.776

4 After310 it a voice6963 roars:7580 he thunders7481 with the voice6963 of his excellency;1347 and he will not stay6117 them when3588 his voice6963 is heard.8085

5 God410 thunders7481 marvelously6381 with his voice;6963 great1419 things does6213 he, which we cannot408 comprehend.3045

6 For he said559 to the snow,7950 Be you on the earth;776 likewise to the small rain,1653 and to the great4306 rain1653 of his strength.5797

7 He seals2856 up the hand3027 of every3605 man;120 that all3605 men582 may know3045 his work.4639

8 Then the beasts2416 go935 into1119 dens,695 and remain7931 in their places.4585

9 Out of the south2315 comes935 the whirlwind:5492 and cold7135 out of the north.4215

10 By the breath5397 of God410 frost7140 is given:5414 and the breadth7341 of the waters4325 is straitened.4164

11 Also637 by watering7377 he wearies2959 the thick cloud:5645 he scatters6327 his bright216 cloud:6051

12 And it is turned2015 round4524 about by his counsels:8458 that they may do6467 whatever3605 834 he commands6680 them on the face6440 of the world8398 in the earth.776

13 He causes it to come,4672 whether518 for correction,7626 or for his land,776 or for mercy.2617

14 Listen238 to this,2063 O Job:347 stand5975 still,5975 and consider995 the wondrous6381 works of God.410

15 Do you know3045 when God433 disposed7760 them, and caused the light216 of his cloud6051 to shine?3313

16 Do you know3045 the balancing4657 of the clouds,5645 the wondrous4652 works of him which is perfect8549 in knowledge?1843

17 How834 your garments899 are warm,2525 when he quiets8252 the earth776 by the south1864 wind?

18 Have you with him spread7554 out the sky,7834 which is strong,2389 and as a molten3332 looking7209 glass?7209

19 Teach3045 us what4100 we shall say559 to him; for we cannot3808 order6186 our speech by reason6440 of darkness.2822

20 Shall it be told5608 him that I speak?1696 if518 a man376 speak,559 surely3588 he shall be swallowed1104 up.

21 And now6258 men see7200 not the bright925 light216 which1931 is in the clouds:7834 but the wind7307 passes,5674 and cleans2891 them.

22 Fair2091 weather2091 comes857 out of the north:6828 with God433 is terrible3372 majesty.1935

23 Touching the Almighty,7706 we cannot3808 find4672 him out: he is excellent7689 in power,3581 and in judgment,4941 and in plenty7230 of justice:6666 he will not afflict.6031

24 Men582 do therefore3651 fear3372 him: he respects7200 not any that are wise2450 of heart.3820
