5 A wise2450 man will hear,8085 and will increase3254 learning;3948 and a man of understanding995 shall attain7069 to wise counsels:8458

1 以色列王所羅門、大闢之子也、所著箴言、

2 訓人以智、迪人以理、

3 得明至道、得秉公義、

4 使拙者明徹、少者通達。

5 哲者聞此而增其學,明者聞此而益其慧。

6 玩味箴言之微旨、可悟賢人之隱語。

7 其箴曰、寅畏耶和華是爲智之本、愚魯者流、藐視道學、

8 爾小子、宜聽父訓、毋棄母儀。

9 此以爲飾、如首戴花冠、如項垂金索。

10 爾小子、惡人誘爾、不可從也。

11 如彼曰、爾我偕行、我匿於歧途、見無辜者殺之。

12 彼猶生存、害之至死、如塜中尸僵、弗能動也。

13 從而獲其珍寶、貨財充棟。

14 爾與我公所有。

15 爾小子、斷勿從之、毋行此徑。

16 彼作惡、殺人流血、惟恐不速。

17 譬諸羽族、見網羅之設、猶知飛避。

18 何世之人、乃設網以自罹、設伏以取戾乎。

19 凡貪非義之利而亡身者、亦若是矣。

20 智者立於門外、呼於街衢、

21 在大會吧門城市、大放厥詞曰、

22 拙者安於拙、侮者樂於侮、愚者不志於學、將至何時。

23 我將訓迪爾、我將以我神賦爾、爾其受教。

24 余招爾、爾弗聽、余舉手、爾弗答、

25 爾棄我道、不受我教、

26 故患難旣臨、而爾畏懼、我將哂笑。

27 爾所懼之災害、迫切之患難、突如其來、如颶風之倐至。

28 斯時龥我、而我弗聽、竭力求恩、而不可得。

29 爾素不志於學、不畏耶和華、

30 不受我教、藐視我道、

31 故必自取其戾、所謀不軌、反及其身。

32 愚者背道、故就死地、蠢者逸志、故遭殺戮、

33 惟聽我者、必安然居處、無所畏懼。
