Chapter 1

1 James,2385 a servant1401 of God2316 and of the Lord2962 Jesus2424 Christ,5547 to the twelve1427 tribes5443 which3739 are scattered1290 abroad,1290 greeting.5463

2 My brothers,80 count2233 it all3956 joy5479 when3752 you fall4045 into divers4164 temptations;3986

3 Knowing1097 this, that the trying1383 of your5216 faith4102 works2716 patience.5281

4 But let patience5281 have2192 her perfect5046 work,2041 that you may be perfect5046 and entire,3648 wanting3007 nothing.3367

5 If1487 any5100 of you lack3007 wisdom,4678 let him ask154 of God,2316 that gives1325 to all3956 men liberally,574 and upbraides3679 not; and it shall be given1325 him.

6 But let him ask154 in faith,4102 nothing3367 wavering.1252 For he that wavers1252 is like1503 a wave2830 of the sea2281 driven416 with the wind416 and tossed.4494

7 For let not that man444 think3633 that he shall receive2983 any5100 thing of the Lord.2962

8 A double1374 minded1374 man435 is unstable182 in all3956 his ways.3598

9 Let the brother80 of low5011 degree5011 rejoice2744 in that he is exalted:5311

10 But the rich,4145 in that he is made5014 low:5014 because3754 as the flower438 of the grass5528 he shall pass3928 away.

11 For the sun2246 is no sooner risen393 with a burning2742 heat,2742 but it wither3583 the grass,5528 and the flower438 thereof846 falls,1601 and the grace2143 of the fashion4383 of it perishes:622 so3779 also2532 shall the rich4145 man fade3133 away in his ways.4197

12 Blessed3107 is the man435 that endures5278 temptation:3986 for when he is tried,1384 he shall receive2983 the crown4735 of life,2222 which3739 the Lord2962 has promised1861 to them that love25 him.

13 Let no3367 man3367 say3004 when he is tempted,3985 I am tempted3985 of God:2316 for God2316 cannot551 be tempted551 with evil,2556 neither2582 3762 tempts3985 he any3762 man:3762

14 But every1538 man is tempted,3985 when he is drawn1828 away of his own2398 lust,1939 and enticed.1185

15 Then1534 when lust1939 has conceived,4815 it brings616 forth616 sin:266 and sin,266 when it is finished,658 brings5088 forth5088 death.2288

16 Do not err,4105 my beloved27 brothers.80

17 Every3956 good18 gift1394 and every3956 perfect5046 gift1394 is from above,509 and comes2597 down2597 from the Father3962 of lights,5457 with whom3739 is no3756 ficklenss,3883 neither2228 shadow644 of turning.5157

18 Of his own will1014 begat616 he us with the word3056 of truth,225 that we should be a kind5100 of first fruits536 of his creatures.2938

19 Why,5620 my beloved27 brothers,80 let every3956 man444 be swift5036 to hear,191 slow1021 to speak,2980 slow1021 to wrath:3709

20 For the wrath3709 of man435 works2716 not the righteousness1343 of God.2316

21 Why1352 lay659 apart659 all3956 filthiness4507 and superfluity4050 of naughtiness,2549 and receive1209 with meekness4240 the engrafted1721 word,3056 which3588 is able1410 to save4982 your5216 souls.5590

22 But be you doers4163 of the word,3056 and not hearers202 only,3440 deceiving3884 your1438 own selves.846

23 For if1487 any1536 be a hearer202 of the word,3056 and not a doer,4163 he is like1503 to a man435 beholding2657 his natural1078 face4383 in a glass:2072

24 For he beholds2657 himself,1438 and goes565 his way,1624 and straightway2112 forgets1950 what3697 manner3697 of man he was.

25 But whoever3588 looks3879 into1519 the perfect5046 law3551 of liberty,1657 and continues3887 therein, he being1096 not a forgetful1953 hearer,202 but a doer4163 of the work,2041 this3778 man shall be blessed3107 in his deed.4162

26 If1487 any1536 man among1722 you seem1380 to be religious,2357 and bridles5468 not his tongue,1100 but deceives538 his own848 heart,2588 this5127 man's religion2356 is vain.3152

27 Pure2513 religion2356 and undefiled283 before3844 God2316 and the Father3962 is this,3778 To visit1980 the fatherless3737 and widows5503 in their affliction,2347 and to keep5083 himself1438 unspotted784 from the world.2889

第1章

1 作神和主耶穌基督僕人的雅各請散住十二個支派之人的安。

2 我的弟兄們，你們落在諸般試探［divers temptations］中，都要以為大喜樂；

3 因為知道你們的信心經過試驗，就生忍耐。

4 但忍耐也當成功，使你們成全、完備，毫無缺欠。

5 你們中間若有缺少智慧的，應當求那厚賜與眾人、也不斥責人的神，主就必賜給他。

6 只要憑著信心求，一點不疑惑；因為那疑惑的人，就像海中的波浪，被風吹動翻騰。

7 這樣的人不要想從主那裏得甚麼。

8 心懷二意的人，在他一切所行的路上都沒有定見。

9 卑微的兄弟［brother］升高，就該喜樂；

10 富足的降卑，也該如此；因為他必要過去，如同草上的花一樣。

11 太陽出來，熱風颳起，草就枯乾，花也凋謝，美容就消沒了；那富足的人，在他所行的事上也要這樣衰殘。

12 忍受試探的人是有福的，因為他經過試驗以後，必得生命的冠冕，這是主應許給那些愛他之人的。

13 人被試探，不可說：「我是被神試探。」因為神不能被惡試探，他也不試探人。

14 但各人被試探，乃是被自己的私慾牽引誘惑的。

15 私慾既懷了胎，就生出罪來；罪既長成，就生出死來。

16 我親愛的弟兄們，不要看錯了。

17 各樣美善的恩賜和各樣全備的賞賜都是從上頭來的，從眾光之父那裏降下來的；在他並沒有改變，也沒有轉動的影兒。

18 他按自己的旨意，用真理的道［word of truth］生了我們，叫我們在他的造物［creatures］中好作［should be］初熟的果子。

19 因此［Wherefore］，我親愛的弟兄們，你們各人要快快的聽，慢慢的說，慢慢的動怒。

20 因為人的怒氣並不成就神的義。

21 所以你們要脫去一切的污穢和盈餘的邪惡，存溫柔的心領受那所栽種的道，就是能救你們元魂［souls］的道。

22 只是你們要行道，不要單單聽道，自己欺哄自己。

23 因為聽道而不行道的，就像人對著鏡子看自己本來的面目，

24 看見，走後，隨即忘了他的相貌如何。

25 唯有詳細察看那全備、使人自由之律法的，並且時常如此，這人既不是聽了就忘，乃是實在行出來，就在他所行的事上必然得福。

26 你們中間［among you］若有人自以為虔誠，卻不勒住他的舌頭，反欺哄自己的心，這人的虔誠是虛的。

27 在神我們的父面前，那純潔［pure］沒有玷污的虔誠，就是看顧在患難中無父的和［fatherless and］寡婦，並且保守自己不為世俗玷污［unspotted from the world］。

3 因為知道你們的信心經過試驗，就生忍耐。

12 忍受試探的人是有福的，因為他經過試驗以後，必得生命的冠冕，這是主應許給那些愛他之人的。

13 人被試探，不可說：「我是被神試探。」因為神不能被惡試探，他也不試探人。

14 But every1538 man is tempted,3985 when he is drawn1828 away of his own2398 lust,1939 and enticed.1185

14 但各人被試探，乃是被自己的私慾牽引誘惑的。

15 Then1534 when lust1939 has conceived,4815 it brings616 forth616 sin:266 and sin,266 when it is finished,658 brings5088 forth5088 death.2288

17 各樣美善的恩賜和各樣全備的賞賜都是從上頭來的，從眾光之父那裏降下來的；在他並沒有改變，也沒有轉動的影兒。

18 Of his own will1014 begat616 he us with the word3056 of truth,225 that we should be a kind5100 of first fruits536 of his creatures.2938

18 他按自己的旨意，用真理的道［word of truth］生了我們，叫我們在他的造物［creatures］中好作［should be］初熟的果子。

19 Why,5620 my beloved27 brothers,80 let every3956 man444 be swift5036 to hear,191 slow1021 to speak,2980 slow1021 to wrath:3709

19 因此［Wherefore］，我親愛的弟兄們，你們各人要快快的聽，慢慢的說，慢慢的動怒。

20 For the wrath3709 of man435 works2716 not the righteousness1343 of God.2316

20 因為人的怒氣並不成就神的義。

21 Why1352 lay659 apart659 all3956 filthiness4507 and superfluity4050 of naughtiness,2549 and receive1209 with meekness4240 the engrafted1721 word,3056 which3588 is able1410 to save4982 your5216 souls.5590

21 所以你們要脫去一切的污穢和盈餘的邪惡，存溫柔的心領受那所栽種的道，就是能救你們元魂［souls］的道。

25 But whoever3588 looks3879 into1519 the perfect5046 law3551 of liberty,1657 and continues3887 therein, he being1096 not a forgetful1953 hearer,202 but a doer4163 of the work,2041 this3778 man shall be blessed3107 in his deed.4162

25 唯有詳細察看那全備、使人自由之律法的，並且時常如此，這人既不是聽了就忘，乃是實在行出來，就在他所行的事上必然得福。

26 If1487 any1536 man among1722 you seem1380 to be religious,2357 and bridles5468 not his tongue,1100 but deceives538 his own848 heart,2588 this5127 man's religion2356 is vain.3152

26 你們中間［among you］若有人自以為虔誠，卻不勒住他的舌頭，反欺哄自己的心，這人的虔誠是虛的。

27 Pure2513 religion2356 and undefiled283 before3844 God2316 and the Father3962 is this,3778 To visit1980 the fatherless3737 and widows5503 in their affliction,2347 and to keep5083 himself1438 unspotted784 from the world.2889

27 在神我們的父面前，那純潔［pure］沒有玷污的虔誠，就是看顧在患難中無父的和［fatherless and］寡婦，並且保守自己不為世俗玷污［unspotted from the world］。
