10 The field7704 is wasted,7703 the land127 mourns;56 for the corn1715 is wasted:7703 the new8492 wine8492 is dried3001 up, the oil3323 languishes.535

11 Be you ashamed,954 O you farmers;406 howl,3213 O you vinedressers,3755 for the wheat2406 and for the barley;8184 because3588 the harvest7105 of the field7704 is perished.6

14 Sanctify6942 you a fast,6685 call7121 a solemn6116 assembly,6116 gather622 the elders2205 and all3605 the inhabitants3427 of the land776 into the house1004 of the LORD3068 your God,430 and cry2199 to the LORD,3068

15 Alas162 for the day!3117 for the day3117 of the LORD3068 is at7138 hand,7138 and as a destruction7701 from the Almighty7706 shall it come.935

2 Слушайте, старцы, внимайте, все жители этой страны! Случалось ли что-либо, подобное этому, в ваши дни или в дни ваших отцов?

3 Расскажите об этом вашим детям, они же пусть перескажут это своим, а их дети пусть передадут следующему поколению.

4 То, что осталось от подбирающей саранчи, ела грызущая саранча, то, что осталось от грызущей саранчи, ела поедающая саранча, а то, что осталось от поедающей саранчи, доела пожирающая саранча.

5 Пробудитесь, пьяницы, и плачьте, причитайте, пьющие вино, оплакивайте молодое вино, потому что оно отнято от уст ваших!

6 На мою землю вступил народ, сильный и бесчисленный. Его зубы — зубы льва, а клыки — как у львицы.

7 Он разорил мою виноградную лозу, обломал мой инжир. Обнажил, ободрав его кору, и бросил; белыми стали его ветви.

8 Плачьте, как девушка, что облачилась в рубище и оплакивает своего возлюбленного.

9 Прекратились хлебные приношения и возлияния в доме Господнем. Скорбят священники, служители Господа.

10 Опустошено поле и плачет земля; уничтожено зерно, засох молодой виноград и увяла олива.

11 Сокрушайтесь, земледельцы, о пшенице и ячмене, потому что погиб урожай на полях. Рыдайте, виноградари,

12 потому что засохла виноградная лоза и завял инжир; гранат, пальма и яблоня — все деревья на поле засохли; потому и прекратилось веселье у сынов человеческих.

13 Облекитесь в рубище, священники, и плачьте, рыдайте, служащие перед жертвенником. Придите, служители моего Бога, и проведите ночь в рубищах, потому что хлебные приношения и возлияния прекратились в доме вашего Бога.

14 Объявите священный пост, созовите собрание, пригласите старцев и всех жителей страны в дом Господа, вашего Бога, и взывайте к Господу.

15 О, этот день! Близок день Господень, придет он подобно разрушению от Всемогущего.

16 Не на наших ли глазах отнимается пища, а радость и веселье уходят из дома нашего Бога?

17 Истлели зерна под глыбами земли, разрушены кладовые, опустели амбары, потому что нет больше зерна.

18 О, как стонет скот! Уныло бродят стада, потому что нет для них пищи; даже отары овец несут наказание.

19 Я взываю к Тебе, Господи, потому что огонь спалил степные пастбища и пламя пожрало все деревья в поле.

20 Даже дикие животные взывают к Тебе, потому что высохли источники воды и огонь спалил степные пастбища.

14 Объявите священный пост, созовите собрание, пригласите старцев и всех жителей страны в дом Господа, вашего Бога, и взывайте к Господу.
