Глава 31

1 «Всё забрал Иаков у отца нашего, за его счет нажил себе всё это богатство», — так говорили о нем сыновья Лавана, и это стало известно Иакову.

2 Да и по лицу Лавана он не мог не заметить, что тот уже не так относился к нему, как прежде.

3 Тогда ГОСПОДЬ сказал Иакову: «Возвратись в землю отцов своих, к родственникам своим. Я буду с тобой!»

4 Иаков послал за Рахилью и Лией, чтобы они пришли в поле, где паслись его стада.

5 Там он сказал им: «Я вижу, что отец ваш относится ко мне уже не так, как прежде, но Бог отцов моих со мною.

6 Вы сами знаете, что я с большим усердием работал на отца вашего,

7 а он нечестно поступил со мной, унизил меня, да и плату за труд мой менял десять раз. Только Бог не дал меня в обиду:

8 если Лаван говорил: „Скот крапчатый будет твоей платой“, крапчатым весь скот и рождался. Когда же он говорил: „Пестрый скот будет твоей платой“, весь скот рождался таким.

9 Так отнял Бог скот у отца вашего и передал его мне.

10 Как-то в пору спаривания скота увидел я во сне, что все козлы и бараны, которые покрывали коз и овец, были пестрыми, крапчатыми или пятнистыми, хотя всех таких животных Лаван забрал из моих стад.

11 Во сне ангел Божий позвал меня: „Иаков!“ „Да!“ — ответил я.

12 И он сказал: „Посмотри на баранов и козлов, что покрывают овец и коз. Заметь, все они пестрые, или крапчатые, или пятнистые. Всё это потому, что Я видел, как Лаван поступал с тобой.

13 Я — Бог, открывшийся тебе в Бет-Эле, где ты дал Мне обет, возлив елей на камень. Поспеши уйти из этой страны и возвратись в родную землю“».

14 В ответ Рахиль и Лия сказали ему: «Разве есть у нас еще какая-то доля наследства в родительском доме?

15 Не обошелся ли он с нами, как с чужими? Ведь он не только продал нас, но и давно уже прожил то, что получил в уплату за нас.

16 Всё богатство, которое отнял Бог у отца нашего, по праву принадлежит нам и детям нашим. Как велит тебе Бог, так и поступай».

17 Спешно собрался Иаков, посадил своих детей и жен на верблюдов,

18 вывел весь свой скот, взял всё свое имущество, которое он приобрел в Паддан-Араме, и отправился в землю ханаанскую, к отцу своему Исааку.

19 Лавана не было дома — он ушел на стрижку овец, а Рахиль тем временем похитила домашних божков отца своего.

20 Да и Иаков настолько усыпил бдительность Лавана-арамея, что тот не сразу узнал о побеге.

21 Так Иаков ушел со всем, что у него было. Поспешно переправился он через реку Евфрат и пошел к Гиладским горам.

22 О тайном уходе Иакова Лавану донесли только на третий день.

23 Вместе с родственниками своими он семь дней шел по следам Иакова, пока не настиг его в Гиладских горах.

24 Тогда же ночью, во сне, Бог явился Лавану-арамею и сказал ему: «Смотри, если не можешь одобрить поступок Иакова, то и не упрекай его!»

25 Лаван настиг Иакова — тот раскинул шатры на одной из гор Гилада; и Лаван со своими родственниками расположился недалеко от него.

26 Лаван сказал Иакову: «Что ты сделал? Ты обманул меня! Дочерей моих угнал, будто пленниц, захваченных в набеге!

27 Зачем, не простившись, ушел тайком и обманул меня? Почему не сказал мне ни слова? Я бы проводил тебя с торжеством, с песнями, под звуки бубна и цитры.

28 А ты даже не дал мне поцеловать моих дочерей и внуков на прощанье. Безрассудно ты поступил!

29 За всё это я мог бы с тобой расплатиться, как следует, но Бог отцов твоих сказал мне прошлой ночью: „Смотри, если не можешь одобрить поступок Иакова, то и не упрекай его!“

30 Положим, ты ушел от меня, сильно истосковавшись по дому отца своего, но зачем было красть моих богов?»

31 «Боялся я, потому и ушел тайно, — отвечал Иаков Лавану. — Я думал, как бы ты не отнял у меня дочерей своих.

32 А богов своих ищи — у кого бы ты их ни нашел, тот не останется в живых! Взяв наших родственников в свидетели, ступай, теперь же проверь всё, что есть у меня, и свое забери». (Иаков не знал того, что Рахиль украла Лавановых божков.)

33 Лаван осмотрел шатры Иакова, Лии и двух служанок, но ничего не нашел. Из шатра Лии он вошел в шатер Рахили.

34 Она же заблаговременно взяла похищенных ею идолов отца, засунула их в подушку верблюжьего седла и села сверху. Лаван обыскал весь шатер и ничего не нашел.

35 Рахиль сказала отцу: «Не сердись на меня, господин мой, что не могу встать перед тобой: мне нездоровится, как это обычно бывает у женщин». Как ни искал Лаван, он так и не нашел своих божков.

36 Вспылил тогда Иаков. «Какое совершил я преступление? — с горьким упреком спросил он Лавана. — В чем провинился, что ты бросился в погоню за мной

37 и перерыл все мои вещи? Нашел ли ты у меня хоть одну свою вещь? Положи ее здесь, перед родственниками нашими, пусть они нас рассудят!

38 Все эти двадцать лет, что я у тебя провел, у овец твоих и коз не было выкидышей, баранов из твоего стада я не ел.

39 Растерзанных дикими зверями не приносил я тебе, а сам возмещал потерю. С меня ты взыскивал за животное, украденное из стада, когда бы то ни случилось, днем или ночью.

40 Ты знаешь, каково мне приходилось: днем томил меня зной, а ночью — холод; глаз сомкнуть я не мог.

41 Вот как прошли для меня двадцать лет в твоем доме: четырнадцать лет я служил тебе за двух дочерей твоих и шесть лет — за скот, и ты десять раз менял плату, мне назначенную.

42 Если бы Бога отца моего — Бога Авраама, Страха Исаака — не было со мной, тогда уж точно с пустыми руками ты отпустил бы меня. Но видел Бог лишения мои и труд мой тяжкий, и этой ночью Он укорил тебя».

43 И сказал Лаван Иакову: «Да это же мои дочери, мои внуки, мои стада и всё, что ты видишь, — мое. И зачем стал бы я обижать дочерей моих и детей, которых они родили?

44 Давай теперь заключим договор, ты и я, и пусть он свидетельствует о мире между нами».

45 Иаков взял камень и поставил его как памятник.

46 Велел он и всем домочадцам своим собирать камни; те собрали такое множество камней, что образовался немалый холм, на котором все вместе принялись за трапезу.

47 Этот холм Лаван назвал Егар-Сахадута, а Иаков — Галь-Эд.

48 «Холм сей, — сказал Лаван, — сегодня стал свидетелем договора между мной и тобой». Потому и назвали его Галь-Эд.

49 Иное его название — Мицпа, ибо Лаван сказал: «ГОСПОДЬ да не сводит с нас глаз, когда мы расстанемся друг с другом!

50 Если ты будешь плохо обращаться с моими дочерьми или возьмешь других жен кроме них, помни, что не человек, а Сам Бог — наш свидетель!»

51 «Видишь этот холм из камней и этот памятник, что поставил я между нами? — Лаван указал на них Иакову. —

52 Они свидетели нашей клятвы в том, что я не перейду за этот холм на твою сторону, чтобы причинить тебе зло, и ты не должен со злым умыслом переходить за него и за памятник сей на мою сторону.

53 Пусть Бог Авраама и Бог Нахора, Бог их отца, будет судьей между нами». И поклялся в этом Иаков Лавану, поклялся Страхом Исаака.

54 После того принес Иаков на горе жертву и позвал на трапезу всех домашних своих. Завершив трапезу, они заночевали на горе.

55 Лаван встал рано утром, поцеловал своих внуков и дочерей, благословил их и после этого отправился домой.

Genesis

Chapter 31

1 AND Jacob heard the words of Laban's sons, saying, Jacob has taken away all that was our father's; and of that which was our father's has he acquired all of this wealth.

2 And Jacob saw that Laban's countenance toward him was not as it had been yesterday and the day before.

3 And the LORD said to Jacob, Return to the land of your fathers, and to your kindred; and I will be with you.

4 So Jacob sent and called Rachel and Leah to the field to his flock,

5 And said to them, I see that your father's countenance toward me is not as it has been yesterday and the day before; but the God of my father has been with me.

6 And you know that I have worked for your father with all my strength.

7 And yet your father has deceived me, and changed my wages ten times; but God has not permitted him to hurt me.

8 If he said thus, The speckled shall be your wages, then all the flock bore speckled; and if he said thus, The spotted shall be your wages; then all the flock bore spotted.

9 Thus God has selected some of your father's cattle, and given them to me.

10 And it came to pass at the time when the sheep conceive, I lifted up my eyes and saw in a dream, and, behold, the rams that leaped upon the sheep were speckled, spotted, and striped.

11 And the angel of God said to me in a dream, Jacob; and I said, Here am I.

12 Then he said, Lift up now your eyes, and see; all the rams that leap upon the sheep are speckled, spotted, and ringstreaked; for I have seen all that Laban has done to you.

13 I am the God of Beth-el, the place where you anointed a pillar to me, and where you vowed a vow to me; now arise, get out from this land, and return to the land of your kindred.

14 And Rachel and Leah answered and said to him, We have no portion or inheritance in our father's house.

15 Behold, we are counted by him as strangers, for he has sold us, and has squandered also our money.

16 For all the riches which God has selected from our father belong to us and our children; now then, whatever God has said to you, do it.

17 Then Jacob rose up and set his sons and his wives on camels;

18 And he carried away all his cattle and all his wealth which he had gained in Padan-aram, to go to Isaac his father in the land of Canaan.

19 Now Laban went to shear his sheep; and Rachel stole the images that belonged to her father.

20 And Jacob deceived Laban, the Aramean, in that he did not tell him that he was going.

21 So he fled with all that he had; and he rose up, and crossed the river, and set his face toward mount Gilead.

22 And it was told Laban on the third day that Jacob had fled.

23 And he took his brethren with him, and pursued after him seven days journey; and they overtook him on mount Gilead.

24 And God came to Laban, the Aramean, in a dream by night, and said to him, Take heed that you speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

25 Then Laban overtook Jacob. Now Jacob had pitched his tent on the mount; and Laban with his brethren encamped on mount Gilead.

26 And Laban said to Jacob, What have I clone to you, that you have deceived me and carried away my daughters as though they were captives taken with the sword?

27 Why did you flee secretly, and deceive me; and did not tell me, for I would have sent you away with joy and songs, and with harp and tambourine?

28 And you did not permit me to give a farewell kiss to my sons and my daughters? Now you have done foolishly in so doing.

29 I could have done you harm, but the God of your fathers said to me last evening, Take heed that you speak not to Jacob either good or bad.

30 And now you are on your way, because you longed for your father's house; yet why did you steal my gods?

31 And Jacob answered and said to Laban. Because I was afraid; for I said, Perhaps you would take your daughters from me by force.

32 With whomsoever you find your gods, he shall not live; moreover, in the presence of our brethren point out whatever I have that belongs to you, and take it for yourself. For Jacob did not know that Rachel had stolen them.

33 And Laban went into Jacob's tent and into Leah's tent and into the tent of the two maidservants; but he did not find the gods. So he went out of Leah's tent into Rachel's tent.

34 Now Rachel had taken the images, and put them in the camel's saddle bag, and sat upon them. And Laban had searched all the tent, but did not find them.

35 And Rachel said to her father, Let it not displease my lord that I cannot rise up before you; for I am with child. Nevertheless he searched, but did not find the images.

36 And Jacob was displeased, and argued with Laban; and Jacob answered and said to Laban, What is my trespass? and what is my fault, that you have hotly pursued after me?

37 Behold you have searched all my baggage, and what have you found of all your household articles? Put it here before my brethren and your brethren, that they may judge between us both.

38 Behold, I have been with you for the past twenty years; your ewes and your she goats have not cast their young, and I have not eaten of the rams of your flock.

39 That which was torn by wild beasts I never brought to you; I bore the loss of it; of my hand you did require it; likewise that which was stolen by the day or by the night.

40 Thus by day I was scorched by the heat, and at night suffered from cold; and my sleep departed from my eyes.

41 Behold, I have been twenty years in your house; I served you fourteen years for your two daughters, and six years for your flock; and you have changed my wages ten times.

42 And if it had not been for the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and your regard for Isaac, which have been on my side, surely you would have sent me away now empty. God saw my toil and the labor of my hands, and rebuked you last evening.

43 Then Laban answered and said to Jacob, These daughters are my daughters, and these children are my children, and the flocks are my flocks. and all that you see is mine; and what can I do this day for these my daughters, or for their children whom they have borne?

44 Now therefore come then, let us make a covenant, I and you; and let it be for a witness between me and you.

45 So Jacob took a stone and set it up for a pillar.

46 And Jacob said to his brethren. Gather stones; and they took stones, and made a heap; and they did eat there upon the heap.

47 And Laban called it Jegar-sahadutha (the Pillar of Witness); but Jacob called it Galead (Gilead).

48 And Laban said, This heap is a witness between me and you this day. Therefore he called its name Galead.

49 And a watchtower; for he said. Let the LORD watch between me and you, because we are parting one from another.

50 If you despise my daughters, or if you shall take other wives besides my daughters, now no man is with us; see, God only is witness between me and you.

51 And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have set between me and you;

52 This heap is a witness, and this pillar is a witness, that I will not pass over this pillar against you, and that you also shall not pass over this pillar against me or this heap for harm.

53 The God of Abraham and the God of Nahor and the God of our forefathers judge between us. And Jacob swore by the reverence of his father Isaac.

54 Then Jacob offered a sacrifice on the mountain, and invited his brethren to eat bread; and they did eat food, and spent the night on the mountain.

55 And early in the morning Laban rose up and kissed his grandsons and his daughters, and blessed them; then Laban returned and went to his country.

Когда же он говорил: „Пестрый скот будет твоей платой“, весь скот рождался таким.	8 If he said thus, The speckled shall be your wages, then all the flock bore speckled; and if he said thus, The spotted shall be your wages; then all the flock bore spotted.
9 Так отнял Бог скот у отца вашего и передал его мне.	9 Thus God has selected some of your father's cattle, and given them to me.

22 О тайном уходе Иакова Лавану донесли только на третий день.	22 And it was told Laban on the third day that Jacob had fled.
23 Вместе с родственниками своими он семь дней шел по следам Иакова, пока не настиг его в Гиладских горах.	23 And he took his brethren with him, and pursued after him seven days journey; and they overtook him on mount Gilead.

26 Лаван сказал Иакову: «Что ты сделал? Ты обманул меня! Дочерей моих угнал, будто пленниц, захваченных в набеге!	26 And Laban said to Jacob, What have I clone to you, that you have deceived me and carried away my daughters as though they were captives taken with the sword?

31 «Боялся я, потому и ушел тайно, — отвечал Иаков Лавану. — Я думал, как бы ты не отнял у меня дочерей своих.	31 And Jacob answered and said to Laban. Because I was afraid; for I said, Perhaps you would take your daughters from me by force.
32 А богов своих ищи — у кого бы ты их ни нашел, тот не останется в живых! Взяв наших родственников в свидетели, ступай, теперь же проверь всё, что есть у меня, и свое забери». (Иаков не знал того, что Рахиль украла Лавановых божков.)	32 With whomsoever you find your gods, he shall not live; moreover, in the presence of our brethren point out whatever I have that belongs to you, and take it for yourself. For Jacob did not know that Rachel had stolen them.
33 Лаван осмотрел шатры Иакова, Лии и двух служанок, но ничего не нашел. Из шатра Лии он вошел в шатер Рахили.	33 And Laban went into Jacob's tent and into Leah's tent and into the tent of the two maidservants; but he did not find the gods. So he went out of Leah's tent into Rachel's tent.

Nevertheless he searched, but did not find the images.

37 и перерыл все мои вещи? Нашел ли ты у меня хоть одну свою вещь? 42 Если бы Бога отца моего — Бога Авраама, Страха Исаака — не было со мной, тогда уж точно с пустыми руками ты отпустил бы меня. Но видел Бог лишения мои и труд мой тяжкий, и этой ночью Он укорил тебя».	42 And if it had not been for the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and your regard for Isaac, which have been on my side, surely you would have sent me away now empty. God saw my toil and the labor of my hands, and rebuked you last evening.
43 И сказал Лаван Иакову: «Да это же мои дочери, мои внуки, мои стада и всё, что ты видишь, — мое. И зачем стал бы я обижать дочерей моих и детей, которых они родили?	43 Then Laban answered and said to Jacob, These daughters are my daughters, and these children are my children, and the flocks are my flocks. and all that you see is mine; and what can I do this day for these my daughters, or for their children whom they have borne?
44 Давай теперь заключим договор, ты и я, и пусть он свидетельствует о мире между нами».	44 Now therefore come then, let us make a covenant, I and you; and let it be for a witness between me and you.
45 Иаков взял камень и поставил его как памятник.	45 So Jacob took a stone and set it up for a pillar.
46 Велел он и всем домочадцам своим собирать камни; те собрали такое множество камней, что образовался немалый холм, на котором все вместе принялись за трапезу.	46 And Jacob said to his brethren. Gather stones; and they took stones, and made a heap; and they did eat there upon the heap.
47 Этот холм Лаван назвал Егар-Сахадута, а Иаков — Галь-Эд.	47 And Laban called it Jegar-sahadutha (the Pillar of Witness); but Jacob called it Galead (Gilead).
48 «Холм сей, — сказал Лаван, — сегодня стал свидетелем договора между мной и тобой». Потому и назвали его Галь-Эд.	48 And Laban said, This heap is a witness between me and you this day. Therefore he called its name Galead.
49 Иное его название — Мицпа, ибо Лаван сказал: «ГОСПОДЬ да не сводит с нас глаз, когда мы расстанемся друг с другом!	49 And a watchtower; for he said. Let the LORD watch between me and you, because we are parting one from another.
50 Если ты будешь плохо обращаться с моими дочерьми или возьмешь других жен кроме них, помни, что не человек, а Сам Бог — наш свидетель!»	50 If you despise my daughters, or if you shall take other wives besides my daughters, now no man is with us; see, God only is witness between me and you.
51 «Видишь этот холм из камней и этот памятник, что поставил я между нами? — Лаван указал на них Иакову. —	51 And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have set between me and you;
52 Они свидетели нашей клятвы в том, что я не перейду за этот холм на твою сторону, чтобы причинить тебе зло, и ты не должен со злым умыслом переходить за него и за памятник сей на мою сторону.	52 This heap is a witness, and this pillar is a witness, that I will not pass over this pillar against you, and that you also shall not pass over this pillar against me or this heap for harm.
53 Пусть Бог Авраама и Бог Нахора, Бог их отца, будет судьей между нами». И поклялся в этом Иаков Лавану, поклялся Страхом Исаака.	53 The God of Abraham and the God of Nahor and the God of our forefathers judge between us. And Jacob swore by the reverence of his father Isaac.
54 После того принес Иаков на горе жертву и позвал на трапезу всех домашних своих. Завершив трапезу, они заночевали на горе.	54 Then Jacob offered a sacrifice on the mountain, and invited his brethren to eat bread; and they did eat food, and spent the night on the mountain.
55 Лаван встал рано утром, поцеловал своих внуков и дочерей, благословил их и после этого отправился домой.	55 And early in the morning Laban rose up and kissed his grandsons and his daughters, and blessed them; then Laban returned and went to his country.
