1 Горе тем, кто идёт в Египет за помощью, кто полагается на коней,кто верит во множество колесниц и великую силу всадников,а на святого Бога Исраила не смотрит и не ищет помощи у Вечного!
2 Но и Он мудр: Он наведёт бедствие, и слов Своих назад не возьмёт.Он поднимется на дом нечестивых, на тех, кто злодеям помощник.
3 Египтяне – люди, а не Бог; кони их – плоть, а не дух.Когда Вечный протянет руку, помогающий споткнётся,принимающий помощь рухнет, и оба погибнут.
4 Так говорит мне Вечный: – Когда лев рычит, огромный лев над своей добычей,пусть даже созовут на него множество пастухов,он их криков не испугается и не встревожится из-за их шума.Так же Вечный, Повелитель Сил, сойдёт, чтобы сражаться на горе Сион и на его высотах.
5 Словно парящая птица, Вечный, Повелитель Сил, прикроет Иерусалим;Он прикроет и защитит его, пощадит и избавит.
6 Вернитесь к Тому, от Кого вы так далеко отступили, о исраильтяне!
7 Ведь в тот день каждый из вас отвергнет идолов из серебра и золота, которых сделали ваши грешные руки.
8 – Ассирийцы падут от меча, но не человеческого; меч пожрёт их, но не меч смертных.Они побегут от меча, и юноши их будут подневольными рабочими.
9 Их твердыня падёт из-за страха; их военачальники будут в ужасе, увидев иудейское боевое знамя, –возвещает Вечный, Чей огонь на Сионе, Чей очаг в Иерусалиме.

1 Woe1945 to them that go down3381 to Egypt4714 for help;5833 and stay8172 on5921 horses,5483 and trust982 in5921 chariots,7393 because3588they are many;7227 and in5921 horsemen,6571 because3588 they are very strong;61053966 but they look8159 not3808 unto5921 the Holy One6918 of Israel,3478 neither3808 seek1875 the LORD!3068
2 Yet he1931 also1571is wise,2450 and will bring935 evil,7451 and will not3808 call back5493 his words:1697 but will arise6965 against5921 the house1004 of the evildoers,7489 and against5921 the help5833 of them that work6466 iniquity.205
3 Now the Egyptians4714are men,120 and not3808 God;410 and their horses5483 flesh,1320 and not3808 spirit.7307 When the LORD3068 shall stretch out5186 his hand,3027 both he that helpeth5826 shall fall,3782 and he that is helped5826 shall fall down,5307 and they all3605 shall fail3615 together.3162
4 For3588 thus3541 hath the LORD3068 spoken559 unto413 me, Like as834 the lion738 and the young lion3715 roaring1897 on5921 his prey,2964 when834 a multitude4393 of shepherds7462 is called forth7121 against5921 him, he will not3808 be afraid2865 of their voice,44806963 nor3808 abase6031 himself for the noise44801995 of them: so3651 shall the LORD3068 of hosts6635 come down3381 to fight6633 for5921 mount2022 Zion,6726 and for5921 the hill1389 thereof.
5 As birds6833 flying,5774 so3651 will the LORD3068 of hosts6635 defend15985921 Jerusalem;3389 defending1598 also he will deliver5337it; and passing over6452 he will preserve4422 it.
6 Turn7725 ye unto him from whom834 the children1121 of Israel3478 have deeply6009 revolted.5627
7 For3588 in that1931 day3117 every man376 shall cast away3988 his idols457 of silver,3701 and his idols457 of gold,2091 which834 your own hands3027 have made6213 unto you for a sin.2399
8 Then shall the Assyrian804 fall5307 with the sword,2719 not3808 of a mighty man;376 and the sword,2719 not3808 of a mean man,120 shall devour398 him: but he shall flee5127 from44806440 the sword,2719 and his young men970 shall be1961 discomfited.4522
9 And he shall pass over5674 to his stronghold5553 for fear,44804032 and his princes8269 shall be afraid2865 of the ensign,44805251 saith5002 the LORD,3068 whose834 fire217is in Zion,6726 and his furnace8574 in Jerusalem.3389
