Глава 10

1 Когда таким образом Ездра молился и исповедовался, плача и повергаясь пред домом Божиим, собралось к нему весьма большое собрание Израильтян, мужья, и жены, и дети, потому что и народ много плакал.

2 И отвечал Шехания, сын Иехиила, из сыновей Еламовых, и сказал Ездре: мы преступники пред Богом нашим, мы живем с женами иноземными, взятыми из народов земли. Но есть надежда для Израиля в сем случае.

3 Утвердим ныне завет с Богом нашим, - что, по совету господина моего и боящихся заповеди Бога нашего, мы отпустим от себя всех жен и детей, рожденных ими; и сделано будет по закону.

4 Встань, потому что на тебе лежит сие дело, и мы с тобою. Будь бодр и действуй!

5 И восстал Ездра, и пригласил главнейших из священников, левитов и из всего Израиля дать клятву, что они поступят по сему слову; и поклялись.

6 И восстал Ездра от дома Божия, и пошел в комнату Ионахана, сына Елиативова, и пришел туда. Хлеба он не ел, и воды не пил, потому что печалился о преступлении переселенцев.

7 И объявили в Иудее и в Иерусалиме всем, вышедшим из плена, чтоб они собрались в Иерусалим;

8 А кто по совету начальствующих и старейшин не придет чрез три дня, у того на все имение положено будет заклятие, и он будет отлучен от общества переселенцев.

9 И собрались все жители Иудеи и земли Вениаминовой в Иерусалим чрез три дня. Это было в девятом месяце, в двадцатый день месяца. Народ сидел на площади у дома Божия, дрожа как по этому случаю, так и от дождей.

10 И встал Ездра священник, и сказал им: вы преступники, вы берете в сожительство иноземных жен, чтоб увеличить вину Израиля.

11 Итак сознайтесь в сем пред Иеговою, Богом отцев ваших, и исполните волю Его, и отлучите себя от народов земли и от иноземных жен.

12 И отвечало все собрание и сказало громким голосом: так, на нас лежит долг сделать по твоему слову.

13 Однакож народ многочислен и время теперь дождливое, нет возможности стоять на улице. Да и это дело не одного дня и не двух, потому что мы в этом деле много погрешили.

14 Пусть наши начальствующие заступят место всего общества, и все, которые в городах наших взяли в сожительство иноземных жен, пусть приходят в назначенные времена, и с ними старейшины каждого города и судьи его, доколе не отвратится от нас пылающий гнев Бога нашего за сие дело.

15 Поэтому Ионафан, сын Асаила и Иахзия, сын Тиквы, приставлены к сему делу, и Мешуллам и Шавтай левит помогали им.

16 И сделали так вышедшие из плена. И отделены на сие Ездрою священником люди, главы поколений от каждого поколения их, и все они вызваны по именам их. И сделали они заседание в первый день десятого месяца для разыскания сего дела.

17 А кончили разысканием всех, которые взяли в сожительство иноземных жен, к первому дню первого месяца.

18 И нашлось из сыновей священнических, которые взяли в сожительство иноземных жен, из сыновей Иисуса, сына Иоцадакова и братьев его, Маасея, Елиезер, Иарив и Гедалия;

19 (Они дали руку свою во уверение, что отпустят жен своих, и за вину свою повинны принести овна);

20 Из сыновей Иммера, Хананий и Зевадия;

21 Из сыновей Харима, Маасея, Илия, Шемаия, Иехиил и Уззия;

22 Из сыновей Палихура: Елиоенай, Маасея, Измаил, Нафанаил, Иозавид и Еласа;

23 Из левитов: Иезавад, Шимей, Келаия, он же Клита, Петахия, Иуда и Елиезер;

24 Из певцов: Елиатив; из привратников: Шаллум, Телем и Урий;

25 А из Израиля, из сыновей Пароша: Ремаия, Иззия, Малхия, Миямин, Елеазар, Малхия и Венаия;

26 Из сыновей Елама: Матфания, Захария, Иехиил, Авдий, Иремоф и Илия;

27 Из сыновей Заттуя: Елиоенай, Елиатив, Матфания, Иремоф, Завад и Азиза;

28 Из сыновей Бевая: Иоханан, Ханания, Забвай, Афлай;

29 Из сыновей Вания: Мешуллам, Маллух, Адаия, Иашув, Шеал, Иерамоф;

30 Из сыновей Пахаф-Моава: Адна, Хелал, Бенаия, Маасея, Матфания, Веселиил, Биннуй и Манассия.

31 Из сыновей Харима: Елиезер, Ишшия, Малхия, Шемаия, Симеон,

32 Вениамин, Маллух, Шемария;

33 Из сыновей Хашума: Матнай, Мататта, Завад, Елифелет, Иеремай, Манассия, Шамей;

34 Из сыновей Вания: Маадий, Амрам и Уил;

35 Бенаия, Ведия, Келуги;

36 Вания, Веремоф, Елиатив;

37 Матфания, Матнай, Иасай;

38 Ваний, Биннуй, Шимей,

39 Шелемия, Нафан, Адаия,

40 Махнадбай, Шашай, Шарай,

41 Азариил, Шелемия, Шемария,

42 Шаллум, Амария, Иосиф;

43 Из сыновей Нево: Иеиил, Маттифия, Завад, Зевина, Иаддай, Иоиль, Бенаия.

44 Все сии взяли за себя жен иноземных, и были между сими женами, которые дали им сыновей.

Ezra

Chapter 10

1 NOW when Ezra had prayed, and when he had confessed, prostrating himself and weeping before the house of the LORD, there assembled to him out of Israel a very great congregation of men and women and children; for the children wept bitterly.

2 And Shechaniah the son of Nehael, one of the descendants of Elam, answered and said to Ezra the scribe, We have transgressed against our God, and have taken foreign wives of the people of the land; now is there any hope for Israel concerning this thing?

3 Therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the alien wives and those who are born of them, according to the counsel of the LORD and of those who tremble at the law of our God and his commandment; do it now and be strong.

4 For this law is decreed for you; for we are with you; be strong and do it.

5 Then Ezra the scribe arose and made the elders of the priests, the Levites, and all Israel to swear that they would do according to this command. And they swore.

6 Then Ezra the scribe rose up from before the house of God and went into the chamber of Johanan the son of Elisha; and he sat there, but he neither ate bread nor drank water; for he was sorrowful because of the transgression of the people.

7 And they made a proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem to all the exiles that they should gather themselves together to Jerusalem;

8 And that whosoever would not come within three days, it should be done to him according to the counsel of the elders and the chiefs, all his wealth could be forfeited and he himself separated from the people of Israel.

9 Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin assembled at Jerusalem within three days. It was the ninth month, on the tenth day of the month; and all the people of the LORD assembled in the street of the temple of the LORD, trembling and shuddering because of this matter.

10 Then Ezra the priest stood up and said to them, You have transgressed against God, and have taken foreign wives, and thus increased the sins of Israel.

11 Now therefore make confession to the LORD God of your fathers, and do his will; separate yourselves from the peoples of the land and from the alien wives.

12 Then all the people answered and said to Ezra with a loud voice, Your words concerning us are good, and we shall accept everything which you say concerning us, and do it truthfully.

13 But now the people are many, and it is the rainy season, and we are not able to stand in the street, neither is this a work of one day or two; for our sins are many in this matter.

14 Let now our elders and all the people stand up, and let all who are in our cities, who have taken foreign wives, come at the time of prayer, and with them the elders of the cities and their judges, till the fierce wrath of our God for this matter is turned from us.

15 Only Jonathan the son of Emmanuel and Nehaziah the son of Tikyah were opposed to this matter; and Matai the Levite supported them.

16 And the exiles did so. And Ezra the priest selected ten men, chiefs of the fathers, after the house of their fathers, and all of them were called by their names; and they sat down on the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.

17 And they finished examining all the men who had taken foreign wives by the first day of the first month.

18 And among the descendants of the priests there were found some who had taken foreign wives, namely, of the sons of Joshua the son of Jozadak and his brothers, Maasiah and Eleazer and Jonadab and Gedaliah.

19 And they also consented that they would put away their wives; so they offered rams of the flock for their sins.

20 And of the sons of Immer, Hanani and Zechariah.

21 And of the sons of Haram, Maasiah and Elijah and Shemaiah and Henanael and Uzziah.

22 And of the sons of Pashhur, Elian, Maasiah, Ishmael, Nathanael, Jozabar, and Elasah.

23 Of the Levites, Jozabar, Shimei, Kelnah, Kelita, Pethahiah, Judah, and Eliezer.

24 And of the ministers, Elishah; and of the porters, Shallum, Etlam, and Udi.

25 Moreover of Israel, of the sons of Parash, Jeremiah, Jezaniah, Malchiah, Benjamin, Eleazer, Malchiah, and Benaiah.

26 And of the sons of Elam, Nethniah, Zechariah, Neiael, Abdi, Jeremoth, and Eliho.

27 And of the sons of Zatiah, Elihnai, Elishah, Nethaniah, Jeremoth, Zabor, and Uzzia.

28 Of the sons of Bebai, Johanan, Hananiah, Zabbai, and Athlai.

29 Of the sons of Bachi, of Tashlom, Malluch, Uzziah, Jashub, Saul, and Jeremoth.

30 And of the sons of Shultan-moab, Gedaliah, Celal, Benaniah, Maasiah, Mattaniah, Bezaliel, and his sons, descendants of Manasseh.

31 And of the sons of Haram, Eliezer, Malchiah, Anshua, Shemaiah, Simeon,

32 Benjamin, Malluch, and Shemaiah.

33 Of the sons of Hashum, Mahnai, Mattathah, Zachar, Eliphelet, Carmi, Manasseh, and Shimai.

34 Of the sons of Bachi, Maadai, Amram, Joel,

35 Benaiah, the son of Chelluh,

36 Nehaiel, Meremoth, Eliashib,

37 Mattaniah. Mattenai, and Aoti.

38 And of the sons of Shimei

39 And Shelemiah, Nathan, and Azariah,

40 Makizab, Shishai, Sharai,

41 Ardaei, Memariah, Shemariah, Shallum,

42 Amariah, and Joseph.

43 Of the sons of Nebo, Neboael, Matitha, Zachor, Zebina, Joel, and Benaiah.

44 All these had taken foreign wives; and some of them had wives by whom they had children.

2 И отвечал Шехания, сын Иехиила, из сыновей Еламовых, и сказал Ездре: мы преступники пред Богом нашим, мы живем с женами иноземными, взятыми из народов земли. Но есть надежда для Израиля в сем случае.	2 And Shechaniah the son of Nehael, one of the descendants of Elam, answered and said to Ezra the scribe, We have transgressed against our God, and have taken foreign wives of the people of the land; now is there any hope for Israel concerning this thing?
3 Утвердим ныне завет с Богом нашим, - что, по совету господина моего и боящихся заповеди Бога нашего, мы отпустим от себя всех жен и детей, рожденных ими; и сделано будет по закону.	3 Therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all the alien wives and those who are born of them, according to the counsel of the LORD and of those who tremble at the law of our God and his commandment; do it now and be strong.
4 Встань, потому что на тебе лежит сие дело, и мы с тобою. Будь бодр и действуй!	4 For this law is decreed for you; for we are with you; be strong and do it.
5 И восстал Ездра, и пригласил главнейших из священников, левитов и из всего Израиля дать клятву, что они поступят по сему слову; и поклялись.	5 Then Ezra the scribe arose and made the elders of the priests, the Levites, and all Israel to swear that they would do according to this command. And they swore.
6 И восстал Ездра от дома Божия, и пошел в комнату Ионахана, сына Елиативова, и пришел туда. Хлеба он не ел, и воды не пил, потому что печалился о преступлении переселенцев.	6 Then Ezra the scribe rose up from before the house of God and went into the chamber of Johanan the son of Elisha; and he sat there, but he neither ate bread nor drank water; for he was sorrowful because of the transgression of the people.
7 И объявили в Иудее и в Иерусалиме всем, вышедшим из плена, чтоб они собрались в Иерусалим;	7 And they made a proclamation throughout Judah and Jerusalem to all the exiles that they should gather themselves together to Jerusalem;
8 А кто по совету начальствующих и старейшин не придет чрез три дня, у того на все имение положено будет заклятие, и он будет отлучен от общества переселенцев.	8 And that whosoever would not come within three days, it should be done to him according to the counsel of the elders and the chiefs, all his wealth could be forfeited and he himself separated from the people of Israel.
9 И собрались все жители Иудеи и земли Вениаминовой в Иерусалим чрез три дня. Это было в девятом месяце, в двадцатый день месяца. Народ сидел на площади у дома Божия, дрожа как по этому случаю, так и от дождей.	9 Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin assembled at Jerusalem within three days. It was the ninth month, on the tenth day of the month; and all the people of the LORD assembled in the street of the temple of the LORD, trembling and shuddering because of this matter.
10 И встал Ездра священник, и сказал им: вы преступники, вы берете в сожительство иноземных жен, чтоб увеличить вину Израиля.	10 Then Ezra the priest stood up and said to them, You have transgressed against God, and have taken foreign wives, and thus increased the sins of Israel.
11 Итак сознайтесь в сем пред Иеговою, Богом отцев ваших, и исполните волю Его, и отлучите себя от народов земли и от иноземных жен.	11 Now therefore make confession to the LORD God of your fathers, and do his will; separate yourselves from the peoples of the land and from the alien wives.
12 И отвечало все собрание и сказало громким голосом: так, на нас лежит долг сделать по твоему слову.	12 Then all the people answered and said to Ezra with a loud voice, Your words concerning us are good, and we shall accept everything which you say concerning us, and do it truthfully.
13 Однакож народ многочислен и время теперь дождливое, нет возможности стоять на улице. Да и это дело не одного дня и не двух, потому что мы в этом деле много погрешили.	13 But now the people are many, and it is the rainy season, and we are not able to stand in the street, neither is this a work of one day or two; for our sins are many in this matter.
14 Пусть наши начальствующие заступят место всего общества, и все, которые в городах наших взяли в сожительство иноземных жен, пусть приходят в назначенные времена, и с ними старейшины каждого города и судьи его, доколе не отвратится от нас пылающий гнев Бога нашего за сие дело.	14 Let now our elders and all the people stand up, and let all who are in our cities, who have taken foreign wives, come at the time of prayer, and with them the elders of the cities and their judges, till the fierce wrath of our God for this matter is turned from us.
15 Поэтому Ионафан, сын Асаила и Иахзия, сын Тиквы, приставлены к сему делу, и Мешуллам и Шавтай левит помогали им.	15 Only Jonathan the son of Emmanuel and Nehaziah the son of Tikyah were opposed to this matter; and Matai the Levite supported them.
16 И сделали так вышедшие из плена. И отделены на сие Ездрою священником люди, главы поколений от каждого поколения их, и все они вызваны по именам их. И сделали они заседание в первый день десятого месяца для разыскания сего дела.	16 And the exiles did so. And Ezra the priest selected ten men, chiefs of the fathers, after the house of their fathers, and all of them were called by their names; and they sat down on the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.
17 А кончили разысканием всех, которые взяли в сожительство иноземных жен, к первому дню первого месяца.	17 And they finished examining all the men who had taken foreign wives by the first day of the first month.
18 И нашлось из сыновей священнических, которые взяли в сожительство иноземных жен, из сыновей Иисуса, сына Иоцадакова и братьев его, Маасея, Елиезер, Иарив и Гедалия;	18 And among the descendants of the priests there were found some who had taken foreign wives, namely, of the sons of Joshua the son of Jozadak and his brothers, Maasiah and Eleazer and Jonadab and Gedaliah.
19 (Они дали руку свою во уверение, что отпустят жен своих, и за вину свою повинны принести овна);	19 And they also consented that they would put away their wives; so they offered rams of the flock for their sins.
20 Из сыновей Иммера, Хананий и Зевадия;	20 And of the sons of Immer, Hanani and Zechariah.
