Глава 7

1 Еруббаал (он же Гедеон) и все его люди встали рано утром и расположились лагерем у источника Харод. Лагерь мадианитян находился к северу от них, в долине, рядом с холмом Море.

2 Господь сказал Гедеону: — Воинов с тобой слишком много. Я не стану отдавать мадианитян в их руки. Чтобы Израиль не мог гордиться предо Мной, будто его спасла его собственная сила,

3 объяви воинам: «Всякий, кто боится и трепещет, пусть уходит домой и оставит гору Галаад». Двадцать две тысячи человек ушло, а десять тысяч осталось.

4 Господь сказал Гедеону: — Воинов все еще слишком много. Отведи их к воде, и там Я испытаю их для тебя. О ком Я скажу тебе: «Этот пойдет с тобой», тот пойдет; а о ком скажу: «Этот с тобой не пойдет», тот не пойдет.

5 Гедеон отвел воинов к воде. Там Господь сказал ему: — Отдели тех, кто лакает воду языком, как собака, от тех, кто встал на колени, чтобы пить.

6 Триста воинов лакали воду языком, поднося воду ко рту руками, а все остальные, чтобы напиться, встали на колени.

7 Господь сказал Гедеону: — Тремя сотнями воинов, которые лакали, Я спасу вас и отдам мадианитян в ваши руки. Все остальные пусть идут домой.

8 Гедеон отпустил всех остальных израильтян по шатрам, но оставил триста воинов, которым достались запасы пищи и боевые рога ушедших. А лагерь мадианитян находился внизу, в долине.

9 В ту же ночь Господь сказал Гедеону: — Встань, напади на лагерь, потому что Я отдам его в твои руки.

10 Если ты боишься напасть, спустись к лагерю вместе со своим слугою Фурой

11 и послушай, что они говорят. Это придаст тебе смелости. Тогда он и его слуга Фура спустились к сторожевым заставам лагеря.

12 Мадианитяне, амаликитяне и другие восточные народы наводнили долину, словно саранча. Их верблюдов было так много, как песчинок на морском берегу.

13 Когда Гедеон пришел, один человек рассказывал другу свой сон: — Мне снился, — говорил он, — круглый ячменный хлеб, который катился в мадианский лагерь. Прикатившись к шатру, он ударил в него так, что шатер опрокинулся и рухнул.

14 Его друг ответил: — Это не что иное, как меч израильтянина Гедеона, сына Иоаша. Бог отдал мадианитян и весь лагерь в его руки.

15 Когда Гедеон услышал сон и его толкование, он поклонился Богу. Он возвратился в израильский лагерь и сказал: — Вставайте! Господь отдал в наши руки лагерь мадианитян.

17 — Смотрите на меня, — сказал он им, — и делайте, как я. Когда я доберусь до края лагеря, делайте то же, что и я.

18 Когда я и все, кто со мною, затрубим в наши рога, тогда и вы со всех сторон лагеря трубите в свои и кричите: «За Господа и за Гедеона!».

19 Гедеон и с ним сто воинов добрались до края лагеря в начале средней стражи, сразу же после того, как сменили часовых. Они затрубили в рога и разбили кувшины, которые были у них в руках.

20 Тогда все три отряда затрубили в рога и разбили кувшины. Держа в левой руке факелы, а в правой рога, в которые они трубили, они закричали: — Меч за Господа и за Гедеона!

21 Каждый человек стоял на своем месте вокруг лагеря, а все мадианитяне метались, крича на бегу.

22 Когда затрубили триста рогов, Господь сделал так, что все, кто был в лагере, обратили свои мечи друг на друга. Войско бежало до самой Бет-Шитты к Церере, до самой границы Авел-Мехолы близ Таббата.

23 Израильтяне из родов Неффалима, Асира и из всего рода Манассии погнались за мадианитянами.

24 Гедеон послал вестников по всем нагорьям Ефрема: — Спускайтесь с гор навстречу мадианитянам и захватите прежде них переправы через реки до самой Бет-Вары, а также через Иордан. Все ефремиты собрались и захватили переправы через Иордан и через реки до самой Бет-Вары.

25 Еще они пленили двух мадианских вождей, Орива и Зива. Они убили Орива у скалы Орива, а Зива в давильне Зива, когда преследовали мадианитян. Головы Орива и Зива они принесли Гедеону, который находился у Иордана.

1 Then Jerubbaal,3378 who1931 is Gideon,1439 and all3605 the people5971 that were with him, rose7925 up early,7925 and pitched2583 beside5921 the well5878 of Harod:5878 so that the host4264 of the Midianites4080 were on the north6828 side of them, by the hill1389 of Moreh,4176 in the valley.6010

2 And the LORD3068 said559 to Gideon,1439 The people5971 that are with you are too many7227 for me to give5414 the Midianites4080 into their hands,3027 lest6435 Israel3478 vaunt6286 themselves against5921 me, saying,559 My own hand3027 has saved3467 me.

3 Now6258 therefore go4994 to, proclaim7121 in the ears241 of the people,5971 saying,559 Whoever4310 is fearful3373 and afraid,2730 let him return7725 and depart6852 early6852 from mount2022 Gilead.1568 And there returned7725 of the people5971 twenty6242 and two8147 thousand;505 and there remained7604 ten6235 thousand.505

4 And the LORD3068 said559 to Gideon,1439 The people5971 are yet5750 too many;7227 bring3318 them down3381 to the water,4325 and I will try6884 them for you there:8033 and it shall be, that of whom834 I say559 to you, This2088 shall go3212 with you, the same1931 shall go3212 with you; and of whomsoever834 I say559 to you, This2088 shall not go3212 with you, the same1931 shall not go.3212

5 So he brought3381 down3381 the people5971 to the water:4325 and the LORD3068 said559 to Gideon,1439 Every3605 one that laps3952 of the water4325 with his tongue,3956 as a dog3611 laps,3952 him shall you set3322 by himself; likewise every3605 one that bows3766 down on his knees1290 to drink.8354

6 And the number4557 of them that lapped,3952 putting their hand3027 to their mouth,6310 were three7969 hundred3967 men:376 but all3605 the rest3499 of the people5971 bowed3766 down on their knees1290 to drink8354 water.4325

7 And the LORD3068 said559 to Gideon,1439 By the three7969 hundred3967 men376 that lapped3952 will I save3467 you, and deliver5414 the Midianites4080 into your hand:3027 and let all3605 the other people5971 go3212 every man376 to his place.4725

8 So the people5971 took3947 victuals6720 in their hand,3027 and their trumpets:7782 and he sent7971 all3605 the rest of Israel3478 every man376 to his tent,168 and retained2388 those three7969 hundred3967 men:376 and the host4264 of Midian4080 was beneath8478 him in the valley.6010

9 And it came1961 to pass the same1931 night,3915 that the LORD3068 said559 to him, Arise,6965 get3381 you down3381 to the host;4264 for I have delivered5414 it into your hand.3027

10 But if518 you fear3373 to go3381 down,3381 go3381 you with Phurah6513 your servant5288 down3381 to the host:4264

11 And you shall hear8085 what4100 they say;1696 and afterward310 shall your hands3027 be strengthened2388 to go3381 down3381 to the host.4264 Then went3381 he down3381 with Phurah6513 his servant5288 to the outside7097 of the armed2571 men that were in the host.4264

12 And the Midianites4080 and the Amalekites6003 and all3605 the children1121 of the east6924 lay5307 along in the valley6010 like grasshoppers697 for multitude;7230 and their camels1581 were without369 number,4557 as the sand2344 by the sea3220 side8193 for multitude.7230

13 And when Gideon1439 was come,935 behold,2009 there was a man376 that told5608 a dream2472 to his fellow,7453 and said,559 Behold,2009 I dreamed2492 a dream,2472 and, see,2009 a cake6742 of barley8184 bread3899 tumbled2015 into the host4264 of Midian,4080 and came935 to a tent,168 and smote5221 it that it fell,5307 and overturned2015 it, that the tent168 lay5307 along.

14 And his fellow7453 answered6030 and said,559 This2063 is nothing369 else save1115 518 the sword2719 of Gideon1439 the son1121 of Joash,3101 a man376 of Israel:3478 for into his hand3027 has God430 delivered5414 Midian,4080 and all3605 the host.4264

15 And it was so, when Gideon1439 heard8085 the telling4557 of the dream,2472 and the interpretation7667 thereof, that he worshipped,7812 and returned7725 into413 the host4264 of Israel,3478 and said,559 Arise;6965 for the LORD3068 has delivered5414 into your hand3027 the host4264 of Midian.4080

16 And he divided2673 the three7969 hundred3967 men376 into three7969 companies,7218 and he put5414 a trumpet7782 in every3605 man's hand,3027 with empty7385 pitchers,3537 and lamps3940 within8432 the pitchers.3537

17 And he said559 to them, Look7200 on me, and do6213 likewise:3651 and, behold,2009 when I come935 to the outside7097 of the camp,4264 it shall be that, as I do,6213 so3651 shall you do.6213

18 When I blow8628 with a trumpet,7782 I and all3605 that are with me, then blow8628 you the trumpets7782 also1571 on every3605 side5439 of all3605 the camp,4264 and say,559 The sword of the LORD,3068 and of Gideon.1439

19 So Gideon,1439 and the hundred3967 men376 that were with him, came935 to the outside7097 of the camp4264 in the beginning7218 of the middle8484 watch;821 and they had but newly6965 set6965 the watch:8104 and they blew8628 the trumpets,7782 and broke5310 the pitchers3537 that were in their hands.3027

20 And the three7969 companies7218 blew8628 the trumpets,7782 and broke7665 the pitchers,3537 and held2388 the lamps3940 in their left8040 hands,3027 and the trumpets7782 in their right3225 hands3027 to blow8628 with: and they cried,7121 The sword2719 of the LORD,3068 and of Gideon.1439

21 And they stood5975 every man376 in his place8478 round5439 about the camp;4264 and all3605 the host4264 ran,7323 and cried,7321 and fled.5127

22 And the three7969 hundred3967 blew8628 the trumpets,7782 and the LORD3068 set7760 every man's376 sword2719 against his fellow,7453 even throughout all3605 the host:4264 and the host4264 fled5127 to Bethshittah1029 in Zererath,6888 and to the border8193 of Abelmeholah,65 to Tabbath.2888

23 And the men376 of Israel3478 gathered6817 themselves together out of Naphtali,5321 and out of Asher,836 and out of all3605 Manasseh,4519 and pursued7291 after310 the Midianites.4080

24 And Gideon1439 sent7971 messengers4397 throughout all3605 mount2022 Ephraim,669 saying,559 come3381 down3381 against7125 the Midianites,4080 and take3920 before them the waters4325 to Bethbarah1012 and Jordan.3383 Then all3605 the men376 of Ephraim669 gathered6817 themselves together, and took3920 the waters4325 to Bethbarah1012 and Jordan.3383

25 And they took3920 two8147 princes8269 of the Midianites,4080 Oreb6157 and Zeeb;2062 and they slew2026 Oreb6157 on the rock6697 Oreb,6157 and Zeeb2062 they slew2026 at the wine press3342 of Zeeb,2062 and pursued7291 Midian,4080 and brought935 the heads7218 of Oreb6157 and Zeeb2062 to Gideon1439 on the other5676 side5676 Jordan.3383

5 Гедеон отвел воинов к воде. Там Господь сказал ему: — Отдели тех, кто лакает воду языком, как собака, от тех, кто встал на колени, чтобы пить.

6 Триста воинов лакали воду языком, поднося воду ко рту руками, а все остальные, чтобы напиться, встали на колени.

7 Господь сказал Гедеону: — Тремя сотнями воинов, которые лакали, Я спасу вас и отдам мадианитян в ваши руки. Все остальные пусть идут домой.

7 And the LORD3068 said559 to Gideon,1439 By the three7969 hundred3967 men376 that lapped3952 will I save3467 you, and deliver5414 the Midianites4080 into your hand:3027 and let all3605 the other people5971 go3212 every man376 to his place.4725

8 Гедеон отпустил всех остальных израильтян по шатрам, но оставил триста воинов, которым достались запасы пищи и боевые рога ушедших. А лагерь мадианитян находился внизу, в долине.

18 Когда я и все, кто со мною, затрубим в наши рога, тогда и вы со всех сторон лагеря трубите в свои и кричите: «За Господа и за Гедеона!».

18 When I blow8628 with a trumpet,7782 I and all3605 that are with me, then blow8628 you the trumpets7782 also1571 on every3605 side5439 of all3605 the camp,4264 and say,559 The sword of the LORD,3068 and of Gideon.1439

19 Гедеон и с ним сто воинов добрались до края лагеря в начале средней стражи, сразу же после того, как сменили часовых. Они затрубили в рога и разбили кувшины, которые были у них в руках.

19 So Gideon,1439 and the hundred3967 men376 that were with him, came935 to the outside7097 of the camp4264 in the beginning7218 of the middle8484 watch;821 and they had but newly6965 set6965 the watch:8104 and they blew8628 the trumpets,7782 and broke5310 the pitchers3537 that were in their hands.3027

20 Тогда все три отряда затрубили в рога и разбили кувшины. Держа в левой руке факелы, а в правой рога, в которые они трубили, они закричали: — Меч за Господа и за Гедеона!

21 Каждый человек стоял на своем месте вокруг лагеря, а все мадианитяне метались, крича на бегу.
