Глава 10

1 Это притчи Соломона: Мудрый сын осчастливит своего отца, глупый сын огорчает мать.

2 Не будет пользы от богатства, добытого нечестным путём, но, делая добро, человек спасается от смерти.

3 Господь заботится о праведных. Он даёт им необходимую пищу, не позволяя злым добиваться всего, что они пожелают.

4 Праздные руки приносят нищету, трудолюбивые руки приносят богатство.

5 Умный сын вовремя собирает урожай, а спящий во время жатвы будет опозорен.

6 Добрые люди приносят благословение праведным, а слова же злого лишь скрывают его подлые намерения.

7 Добрый человек оставляет добрую память, злой человек будет быстро забыт.

8 Мудрый человек принимает чужие советы, а болтливый глупец навлекает на себя беду.

9 Честному человеку опасность не грозит, но кто обманывает, тот будет пойман.

10 Скрывающий правду подвержен многочисленным страданиям, а говорящий открыто сотворяет мир.

11 Слова доброго человека — источник жизни, слова же злого лишь скрывают насилие его.

12 Ненависть приводит к раздору, а любовь прощает все ошибки.

13 Умные люди изрекают мудрость, а глупцы без побоев ничему не научатся.

14 Мудрые люди спокойны и учатся новому, глупцы своими речами приносят себе несчастья.

15 Богатство хранит богатого, бедность разрушает бедняка.

16 Поступки доброго приносят жизнь, а злого — грех.

17 Кто принимает наказание, тот своим примером учит других достойной жизни. Однако тот человек, который отвергает поучение, увлекает других на грешный путь.

18 Тот, кто скрывает ненависть, — лжец. Тот, кто открыто оскорбляет людей, — глупец.

19 Многословие — причина многих бед, но мудрый всегда сдержан в словах.

20 Слова доброго человека — чистое серебро, а мысли злого человека ничего не стоят.

21 Многим людям помогут слова доброго человека, но глупость приносит человеку погибель.

22 Благословение Господа является источником богатства, а упорный труд не умножит его.

23 Глупый наслаждается своими грешными делами, а мудрый счастлив мудростью своей.

24 Глупый будет побеждён тем, чего он боится, а добрый человек получит всё, о чём мечтает.

25 Когда нахлынут беды, злых постигнет смерть, а праведных ничто не потревожит.

26 Никогда не позволяй ленивому исполнять твои поручения; его просить о помощи также противно, как пробовать уксус или страдать от дыма, режущего глаза.

27 Кто Господа чтит, тот долго живёт, злобные же люди теряют годы жизни.

28 Надежды доброго приносят счастье, а надежды злобных уничтожают всё.

29 Господь хранит добрых людей и сокрушает тех, кто зло творит.

30 Добрые люди будут всегда вне опасности, покинуть землю будут вынуждены злые.

31 Добрые люди всегда говорят мудрые вещи, но тех, кто приносит несчастья, люди не будут слушать.

32 Добрые люди дают правильные советы, всё, что говорят злые, приносит лишь несчастье.

Chapter 10

1 A WISE son makes his father glad, but a foolish son brings shame to his mother.

2 Treasures of wickedness profit nothing; but righteousness delivers from death.

3 The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish; but he casts away the substance of the wicked.

4 Poverty humbles a man; but the hands of diligent men make rich.

5 He who works in summer is a wise man; but he who sleeps in harvest is a son that causes shame.

6 Blessings are upon the head of the righteous; but iniquity covers the mouth of the wicked.

7 The memory of the just is a blessing; but the heir of the wicked shall be extinct.

8 The wise in heart will receive commandments; but one whose lips are full of folly shall be caught.

9 He who walks uprightly walks in hope; but he who perverts his ways shall be known.

10 He who winks with his eyes deceitfully causes sorrow; but he who reproves openly makes peace.

11 The mouth of a righteous man is a fountain of life; but the mouth of the wicked is covered with iniquity.

12 Hatred stirs up strife; shame shall cover all the wicked.

13 He who brings forth wisdom out of his lips shall beat with a rod him that lacks understanding.

14 Wise men conceal knowledge; but a hasty mouth is near destruction.

15 The rich men's wealth is their strong cities; the destruction of the poor is their poverty.

16 The labor of the righteous tends to life; the harvest of the wicked to sin.

17 The true way of life brings discipline; but he who hates reproof is a fool.

18 The lips of the wicked are full of deceits, and he who utters a curse is a fool.

19 The wicked cannot be delivered by a multitude of words; but he who refrains his lips is wise.

20 The tongue of the righteous is like choice silver; the heart of the wicked is full of bitterness.

21 The lips of the righteous are full of mercy; but the fools die for want of wisdom.

22 The blessings of the LORD bring riches, and there shall be no sorrow in them.

23 It is sport to a fool to do mischief; but a man of understanding has wisdom.

24 The wicked shall be dragged to ruin; but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.

25 As the whirlwind passes suddenly, so wicked men shall perish and be no more; but the righteous are an everlasting foundation.

26 As unripe grapes are hurtful to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so does wickedness hurt those who indulge in it.

27 Reverence for the LORD prolongs life; but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

28 The hope of the righteous shall be gladness; but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

29 The way of the LORD is strength to the upright; but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.

30 The righteous shall never be removed; but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.

31 The mouth of the righteous brings forth wisdom; but a perverse tongue shall be silenced.

32 The lips of the righteous know what is good; but the mouth of the wicked speaks perverse things.
