Глава 50

1 Иосиф очень горевал, когда Израиль умер. Обняв отца, он плакал над ним и целовал его.

2 Он приказал своим слугам-врачам подготовить тело отца, и те, согласно обычаю египтян, по-особому набальзамировали тело Иакова для погребения.

3 Подготавливая тело по-особому, египтяне выжидали сорок дней до погребения, а потом семьдесят дней скорбели об Иакове.

4 Когда же время скорби прошло, Иосиф обратился к придворным фараона и сказал: «Прошу вас, передайте фараону:

5 „Когда мой отец был при смерти, я дал ему обещание, что похороню его в Ханаанской земле, в той пещере, которую он приготовил для себя. Так позволь же мне пойти похоронить моего отца, а после этого я возвращусь к тебе”».

6 «Сдержи своё обещание, — ответил фараон, — иди и похорони своего отца».

7 Тогда Иосиф пошёл хоронить отца, а с ним пошли все придворные фараона, все старейшины дома фараона и все старейшины Египта.

8 С Иосифом пошла вся его семья, его братья и все члены семьи его отца, только дети, овцы и скот остались в земле Гесем.

9 Народа было очень много, там были даже воины на колесницах и всадники.

10 Они дошли до Горен-Гаатада к востоку от реки Иордан и там совершили по Израилю долгую погребальную службу, продолжавшуюся семь дней.

11 Увидев погребальную службу в Горен-Гаатаде, жители Ханаанской земли сказали: «До чего же печальная служба у этих египтян!» Потому и называется то место Авел-Мизраим.

12 Так сыновья Израиля исполнили то, что он им завещал.

13 Они отнесли его тело в Ханаан и похоронили в пещере у Махпелы, неподалеку от Мамре, на поле, купленном Авраамом у Ефрона хеттеянина. Авраам купил эту пещеру, чтобы иметь место для погребения.

14 Иосиф похоронил отца и вместе со всеми, кто был с ним, возвратился в Египет.

15 После смерти Иакова братья Иосифа стали опасаться, что Иосиф всё ещё разгневан на них за то, что они совершили много лет назад. «Может быть, Иосиф всё ещё ненавидит нас за то, что мы сделали», — говорили братья.

16 Они послали сказать ему: «Отец перед смертью велел нам что-то передать тебе.

17 „Скажите Иосифу, — сказал он, — что я прошу его простить братьям зло, которое они ему причинили”. И вот теперь мы просим тебя, Иосиф: прости нас, слуг Бога твоего отца, за то зло, что мы тебе причинили». Иосиф был очень опечален этим посланием и заплакал.

18 Братья пришли и низко поклонились ему, сказав: «Мы — твои слуги».

19 Иосиф же ответил: «Не бойтесь меня, я не Бог!

20 Правда, что вы замыслили против меня зло, но Бог назначил мне доброе, по промыслу Его я послужил к сохранению жизни множества людей, как и случилось до сего дня!

21 Так не бойтесь же, я позабочусь о вас и о ваших детях». И он успокоил их, говоря добрые слова.

22 Иосиф жил в Египте с семьёй своего отца и прожил всего 110 лет.

23 При жизни Иосифа у Ефрема родились дети и внуки, и у его сына Манассии родился сын по имени Махир. И дожил Иосиф до того времени, когда увидел детей Махира.

24 Когда Иосиф был близок к смерти, он сказал своим братьям: «Близок час моей смерти, но я знаю, что Бог позаботится о вас и выведет вас из этой страны. Бог приведёт вас в ту землю, которую обещал дать Аврааму, Исааку и Иакову».

25 Затем Иосиф попросил членов своей семьи, чтобы они дали ему обещание. «Обещайте мне, — сказал Иосиф, — что возьмёте с собой мои кости, когда Бог поведёт вас из Египта в новую землю».

26 Иосиф умер в Египте, когда ему было 110 лет, его тело набальзамировали к погребению и положили в гроб в Египетской земле.

Chapter 50

1 AND Joseph fell upon his father's face, and wept over him, and kissed him.

2 Then Joseph commanded his servants the physicians to embalm his father; and the physicians embalmed Israel.

3 And forty days were fulfilled for him; for so are fulfilled the days of those who are embalmed; and the Egyptians mourned for him seventy days.

4 And when the days of his mourning were past, Joseph spoke to the household of Pharaoh, saying, If now I have found mercy in your eyes, speak in the presence of Pharaoh, saying,

5 My father made me swear, saying, Behold I am dying; in my grave which I bought for myself in the land of Canaan, there you shall bury me. Now therefore let me go up and bury my father, and I will come back again,

6 And Pharaoh said, Go up and bury your father, according as he made you swear.

7 So Joseph went up to bury his father; and with him went up all the servants of Pharaoh, the elders of his household, and all the elders of the land of Egypt,

8 And all the household of Joseph, his brothers, and his father's household; only their little ones, their flocks, and their herds, they left in the land of Goshen.

9 And there went up with him both chariots and horsemen; and it was a very great company.

10 And they came to the threshing floor of Atar, which is beyond the Jordan, and there they mourned with a great and very sore lamentation; and Joseph made a mourning for his father seven days.

11 And when the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning in the threshing floor of Atar, they said, This is a grievous mourning to the Egyptians; therefore the name of it was called Abel-mizrin, which is beyond Jordan.

12 And his sons did to Jacob just as he had commanded them;

13 For they carried him into the land of Canaan, and buried him in the double cave, which is in the field, which Abraham purchased with the field for a possession for a burial ground from Ephron, the Hittite, before Mamre.

14 And Joseph returned to Egypt, he and his brothers, and all who went up with him to bury his father, after he had buried his father.

15 And when Joseph's brothers saw that their father was dead, they were afraid, saying. It may be Joseph will harm us, and perhaps he will requite us all the evil which we did to him.

16 So they came to Joseph and said to him, Your father did command before he died, saying,

17 Thus shall you say to Joseph, Forgive, we pray you now, the trespass of your brothers and their sins; for they did evil to you; and now forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of your father. And Joseph wept when they spoke to him.

18 And his brothers also went and fell down before him; and they said, Behold, we are your servants.

19 But Joseph said to them, Fear not; for I am a servant of God.

20 But as for you, you thought evil against me; but God meant it for good, to do as he has done this day, to save many lives.

21 Now therefore do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spoke kindly to them.

22 And Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and all his father's house; and Joseph lived a hundred and ten years.

23 And Joseph saw Ephraim's children of the third generation; the children also of Machir the son of Manasseh were brought up upon Joseph's knees.

24 And Joseph said to his brothers, I am dying; and God will surely remember you, and bring you up out of this land to the land which he swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

25 And Joseph took an oath of the children of Israel, saying, God will surely remember you, and you shall carry up my bones from here with you.

26 So Joseph died, being a hundred and ten years old; and they embalmed him and put him in a coffin in Egypt.

4 And when the days of his mourning were past, Joseph spoke to the household of Pharaoh, saying, If now I have found mercy in your eyes, speak in the presence of Pharaoh, saying,

5 „Когда мой отец был при смерти, я дал ему обещание, что похороню его в Ханаанской земле, в той пещере, которую он приготовил для себя. Так позволь же мне пойти похоронить моего отца, а после этого я возвращусь к тебе”».

5 My father made me swear, saying, Behold I am dying; in my grave which I bought for myself in the land of Canaan, there you shall bury me. Now therefore let me go up and bury my father, and I will come back again,

6 «Сдержи своё обещание, — ответил фараон, — иди и похорони своего отца».

6 And Pharaoh said, Go up and bury your father, according as he made you swear.

7 Тогда Иосиф пошёл хоронить отца, а с ним пошли все придворные фараона, все старейшины дома фараона и все старейшины Египта.

7 So Joseph went up to bury his father; and with him went up all the servants of Pharaoh, the elders of his household, and all the elders of the land of Egypt,

8 С Иосифом пошла вся его семья, его братья и все члены семьи его отца, только дети, овцы и скот остались в земле Гесем.

8 And all the household of Joseph, his brothers, and his father's household; only their little ones, their flocks, and their herds, they left in the land of Goshen.

9 Народа было очень много, там были даже воины на колесницах и всадники.

9 And there went up with him both chariots and horsemen; and it was a very great company.

10 Они дошли до Горен-Гаатада к востоку от реки Иордан и там совершили по Израилю долгую погребальную службу, продолжавшуюся семь дней.

10 And they came to the threshing floor of Atar, which is beyond the Jordan, and there they mourned with a great and very sore lamentation; and Joseph made a mourning for his father seven days.

11 Увидев погребальную службу в Горен-Гаатаде, жители Ханаанской земли сказали: «До чего же печальная служба у этих египтян!» Потому и называется то место Авел-Мизраим.

11 And when the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, saw the mourning in the threshing floor of Atar, they said, This is a grievous mourning to the Egyptians; therefore the name of it was called Abel-mizrin, which is beyond Jordan.

12 Так сыновья Израиля исполнили то, что он им завещал.

12 And his sons did to Jacob just as he had commanded them;

13 Они отнесли его тело в Ханаан и похоронили в пещере у Махпелы, неподалеку от Мамре, на поле, купленном Авраамом у Ефрона хеттеянина. Авраам купил эту пещеру, чтобы иметь место для погребения.

14 And Joseph returned to Egypt, he and his brothers, and all who went up with him to bury his father, after he had buried his father.

15 После смерти Иакова братья Иосифа стали опасаться, что Иосиф всё ещё разгневан на них за то, что они совершили много лет назад. «Может быть, Иосиф всё ещё ненавидит нас за то, что мы сделали», — говорили братья.

15 And when Joseph's brothers saw that their father was dead, they were afraid, saying. It may be Joseph will harm us, and perhaps he will requite us all the evil which we did to him.

16 Они послали сказать ему: «Отец перед смертью велел нам что-то передать тебе.

16 So they came to Joseph and said to him, Your father did command before he died, saying,

17 „Скажите Иосифу, — сказал он, — что я прошу его простить братьям зло, которое они ему причинили”. И вот теперь мы просим тебя, Иосиф: прости нас, слуг Бога твоего отца, за то зло, что мы тебе причинили». Иосиф был очень опечален этим посланием и заплакал.

17 Thus shall you say to Joseph, Forgive, we pray you now, the trespass of your brothers and their sins; for they did evil to you; and now forgive the trespass of the servants of the God of your father. And Joseph wept when they spoke to him.

18 Братья пришли и низко поклонились ему, сказав: «Мы — твои слуги».

18 And his brothers also went and fell down before him; and they said, Behold, we are your servants.

19 Иосиф же ответил: «Не бойтесь меня, я не Бог!

19 But Joseph said to them, Fear not; for I am a servant of God.

20 Правда, что вы замыслили против меня зло, но Бог назначил мне доброе, по промыслу Его я послужил к сохранению жизни множества людей, как и случилось до сего дня!

20 But as for you, you thought evil against me; but God meant it for good, to do as he has done this day, to save many lives.

21 Так не бойтесь же, я позабочусь о вас и о ваших детях». И он успокоил их, говоря добрые слова.

21 Now therefore do not be afraid; I will provide for you and your little ones. And he comforted them, and spoke kindly to them.

22 Иосиф жил в Египте с семьёй своего отца и прожил всего 110 лет.

22 And Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he, and all his father's house; and Joseph lived a hundred and ten years.

23 При жизни Иосифа у Ефрема родились дети и внуки, и у его сына Манассии родился сын по имени Махир. И дожил Иосиф до того времени, когда увидел детей Махира.

23 And Joseph saw Ephraim's children of the third generation; the children also of Machir the son of Manasseh were brought up upon Joseph's knees.

24 And Joseph said to his brothers, I am dying; and God will surely remember you, and bring you up out of this land to the land which he swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
