3 da Israel3478 des HErrn3068 eigen war6944 und seine erste7225 Frucht. Wer sie fressen398 wollte, mußte Schuld haben8393 und Unglück7451 über ihn kommen935, spricht5002 der HErr3068.

5 So spricht der HErr3068: Was haben4672 doch eure Väter1 Fehls an mir7368 gehabt, daß sie559 von mir wichen und hingen3212 an den unnützen Götzen, da310 sie doch nichts1892 erlangeten,

6 und559 dachten nie keinmal: Wo ist der120 HErr3068, der uns aus5927 Ägyptenland4714 führete und776 leitete uns in5674 der Wüste4057, im wilden6160, ungebahnten7745 Lande776, im dürren6723, und finstern6757 Lande776, im Lande776, da niemand wandelte, noch3212 kein Mensch376 wohnete?

8 Die Priester gedachten nicht3045: Wo ist8451 der HErr3068? und3548 die Gelehrten achteten mein nicht3276, und559 die Hirten7462 führeten die Leute von mir310, und1980 die Propheten5030 weissagten5012 vom Baal1168 und hingen an den unnützen Götzen.

8 The priests3548 said559 not,3808 Where346 is the LORD?3068 and they that handle8610 the law8451 knew3045 me not:3808 the pastors7462 also transgressed6586 against me, and the prophets5030 prophesied5012 by Baal,1168 and walked1980 after310 things that do not3808 profit.3276

9 Ich muß mich immer mit euch7378 und1121 mit euren Kindeskindern1121 schelten, spricht5002 der HErr3068.

9 Wherefore3651 I will yet5750 plead7378 with854 you, saith5002 the LORD,3068 and with854 your children's1121 children1121 will I plead.7378

10 Gehet5674 hin in die Inseln339 Chittim3794 und schauet7200 und sendet7971 in Kedar6938 und merket mit995 Fleiß und schauet7200, ob‘s daselbst so3966 zugehet,

11 ob die Heiden1471 ihre Götter430 ändern3235, wiewohl sie doch nicht3276 Götter430 sind? Und mein Volk5971 hat doch seine Herrlichkeit3519 verändert4171 um einen unnützen Götzen.

11 Hath a nation1471 changed4171 their gods,430 which1992 are yet no3808 gods?430 but my people5971 have changed4171 their glory3519 for that which doth not3808 profit.3276

12 Sollte sich8074 doch der Himmel8064 davor entsetzen, erschrecken8175 und sehr3966 erbeben2717, spricht5002 der HErr3068.

12 Be astonished,8074 O ye heavens,8064 at5921 this,2063 and be horribly afraid,8175 be ye very3966 desolate,2717 saith5002 the LORD.3068

13 Denn mein Volk5971 tut eine zwiefache Sünde7451: mich, die4325 lebendige2416 Quelle, verlassen5800 sie8147 und machen6213 sich3557 hie und da ausgehauene2672 Brunnen4726, die doch löcherig7665 sind und kein Wasser4325 geben.

13 For3588 my people5971 have committed6213 two8147 evils;7451 they have forsaken5800 me the fountain4726 of living2416 waters,4325 and hewed them out2672 cisterns,877 broken7665 cisterns,877 that834 can hold3557 no3808 water.4325

14 Ist denn Israel3478 ein Knecht5650 oder leibeigen3211, daß4069 er jedermanns Raub957 sein muß?

14 Is Israel3478 a servant?5650 is he1931 a homeborn1004 3211 slave? why4069 is1961 he spoiled?957

15 Denn die3427 Löwen3715 brüllen7580 über ihn und5414 schreien6963 und8047 verwüsten sein Land776 und verbrennen3341 seine Städte5892, daß niemand drinnen wohnet.

17 Solches machst du6213 dir5800 selbst, daß du den HErrn3068, deinen GOtt430, verlässest, so oft6256 er dich3212 den rechten Weg1870 leiten will.

18 Was hilft‘s dir1870, daß du nach Ägypten4714 ziehst und5104 willst des Wassers4325 Sihor7883 trinken8354? Und was hilft‘s dir1870, daß du gen Assyrien804 ziehst und willst des Wassers4325 Phrath trinken8354?

18 And now6258 what4100 hast thou to do in the way1870 of Egypt,4714 to drink8354 the waters4325 of Sihor?7883 or what4100 hast thou to do in the way1870 of Assyria,804 to drink8354 the waters4325 of the river?5104

19 Es ist deiner Bosheit7451 Schuld3256, daß du so gestäupet wirst, und deines Ungehorsams4878, daß du so gestraft3198 wirst: Also mußt du inne werden7200 und erfahren3045, was für Jammer und Herzeleid4751 bringet, den HErrn3069, deinen GOtt430, verlassen5800 und ihn nicht7451 fürchten6345, spricht5002 der HErr3068 HErr136 Zebaoth6635.

20 Denn du6808 hast7665 immerdar5769 dein Joch5923 zerbrochen und deine Bande4147 zerrissen5423 und gesagt559: Ich will nicht so unterworfen5674 sein, sondern auf allen hohen1364 Hügeln1389 und unter5647 allen grünen7488 Bäumen6086 liefest du der Hurerei2181 nach.

21 Ich aber hatte dich5237 gepflanzt5193 zu einem süßen Weinstock8321, einen ganz rechtschaffenen571 Samen2233. Wie bist du mir denn geraten2015 zu einem bittern, wilden Weinstock1612?

21 Yet I595 had planted5193 thee a noble vine,8321 wholly3605 a right571 seed:2233 how349 then art thou turned2015 into the degenerate5494 plant of a strange5237 vine1612 unto me?

22 Und wenn du dich3526 gleich mit Lauge5427 wüschest und nähmest viel7235 Seife1287 dazu, so gleißt3799 doch deine Untugend5771 desto mehr vor mir6440, spricht5002 der HErr136 HErr3069.

23 Wie3045 darfst du denn sagen559: Ich bin1980 nicht unrein2930, ich hänge nicht an7200 Baalim1168? Siehe an, wie1870 du es treibest im1870 Tal1516, und310 bedenke, wie du es ausgerichtet hast6213!

23 How349 canst thou say,559 I am not3808 polluted,2930 I have not3808 gone1980 after310 Baalim?1168 see7200 thy way1870 in the valley,1516 know3045 what4100 thou hast done:6213 thou art a swift7031 dromedary1072 traversing8308 her ways;1870

24 Du1245 läufst umher wie eine Kamelin in der Brunst, und wie ein Wild6501 in der Wüste4057 pflegt3928, wenn es vor großer Brunst lechzet und läuft7602, daß niemand8385 aufhalten kann. Wer5315 es wissen will7725, darf nicht7307 weit laufen3286; am Feiertage2320 sieht man4672 es wohl.

24 A wild ass6501 used3928 to the wilderness,4057 that snuffeth up7602 the wind7307 at her pleasure;185 5315 in her occasion8385 who4310 can turn her away?7725 all3605 they that seek1245 her will not3808 weary3286 themselves; in her month2320 they shall find4672 her.

25 Lieber, halte doch und7272 lauf dich4513 nicht3212 so hellig! Aber du559 sprichst: Das lasse ich; ich muß mit den Fremden2114 buhlen157 und310 ihnen nachlaufen.

26 Wie ein Dieb1590 zuschanden wird4672, wenn er ergriffen wird, also wird das Haus1004 Israel3478 zuschanden werden3001 samt ihren Königen4428, Fürsten8269, Priestern3548 und1322 Propheten5030,

26 As the thief1590 is ashamed1322 when3588 he is found,4672 so3651 is the house1004 of Israel3478 ashamed;954 they,1992 their kings,4428 their princes,8269 and their priests,3548 and their prophets,5030

27 die zum Holz6086 sagen559: Du bist mein Vater1; und6256 zum Stein68: Du hast3205 mich gezeuget. Denn sie559 kehren mir den Rücken6203 zu und nicht7451 das Angesicht6437. Aber wenn die Not hergehet, sprechen sie6965: Auf6440, und hilf3467 uns!

27 Saying559 to a stock,6086 Thou859 art my father;1 and to a stone,68 Thou859 hast brought me forth:3205 for3588 they have turned6437 their back6203 unto413 me, and not3808 their face:6440 but in the time6256 of their trouble7451 they will say,559 Arise,6965 and save3467 us.

28 Wo sind aber denn deine Götter430, die4557 du dir gemacht6213 hast? Heiß sie6965 aufstehen; laß sehen, ob sie dir helfen3467 können in6256 der Not7451! Denn so manche Stadt5892, so manchen GOtt430 hast du, Juda3063.

29 Was wollt ihr7378 noch recht haben wider mich? Ihr seid alle von mir abgefallen6586, spricht5002 der HErr3068.

29 Wherefore4100 will ye plead7378 with413 me? ye all3605 have transgressed6586 against me, saith5002 the LORD.3068

30 Alle Schläge5221 sind verloren an euren Kindern1121, sie3947 lassen sich doch nicht7723 ziehen4148. Denn euer Schwert2719 frißt398 gleichwohl eure Propheten5030 wie ein wütiger7843 Löwe738.

30 In vain7723 have I smitten5221 853 your children;1121 they received3947 no3808 correction:4148 your own sword2719 hath devoured398 your prophets,5030 like a destroying7843 lion.738

31 Du7200 böse Art1755; merke auf des HErrn3068 Wort1697! Bin ich denn Israel3478 eine Wüste4057 oder ödes3991 Land776? Warum spricht559 denn mein Volk5971: Wir sind935 die Herren7300 und müssen dir nicht nachlaufen?

31 O generation,1755 see7200 ye859 the word1697 of the LORD.3068 Have I been1961 a wilderness4057 unto Israel?3478 a land776 of darkness?3991 wherefore4069 say559 my people,5971 We are lords;7300 we will come935 no3808 more5750 unto413 thee?

32 Vergisset doch eine Jungfrau1330 ihres Schmucks nicht7911 noch3117 eine Braut ihres Schleiers7196; aber3618 mein Volk5971 vergisset mein ewiglich4557.

32 Can a maid1330 forget7911 her ornaments,5716 or a bride3618 her attire?7196 yet my people5971 have forgotten7911 me days3117 without369 number.4557

33 Was schmückest du1245 viel dein Tun3190, daß ich dir1870 gnädig160 sein soll? Unter solchem Schein treibest du je mehr und mehr Bosheit7451.

34 Über das findet4672 man Blut1818 der armen34 und3671 unschuldigen5355 Seelen5315 bei dir an allen Orten, und ist4672 nicht heimlich4290, sondern offenbar an denselben Orten.

34 Also1571 in thy skirts3671 is found4672 the blood1818 of the souls5315 of the poor34 innocents:5355 I have not3808 found4672 it by secret search,4290 but3588 upon5921 all3605 these.428

35 Noch sprichst du559: Ich bin unschuldig5352; er wende seinen Zorn639 von mir! Siehe, ich will7725 mit dir rechten8199, daß du559 sprichst: Ich habe2398 nicht gesündiget.

35 Yet thou sayest,559 Because3588 I am innocent,5352 surely389 his anger639 shall turn7725 from4480 me. Behold,2009 I will plead with8199 thee, because5921 thou sayest,559 I have not3808 sinned.2398

36 Wie1870 weichst du doch so3966 gerne und fällst jetzt dahin235, jetzt hieher! Aber du wirst an Ägypten4714 zuschanden werden954, wie du an Assyrien804 zuschanden worden bist.

37 Denn du mußt von3318 dannen auch wegziehen und deine Hände3027 über dem Haupt7218 zusammenschlagen; denn der HErr3068 wird deine Hoffnung4009 fehlen lassen und wird dir bei ihnen nichts gelingen6743.
