3 Und der Engel4397 des HErrn3068 erschien7200 dem Weibe802 und sprach559 zu ihr: Siehe, du bist unfruchtbar6135 und gebierest nichts; aber du wirst schwanger2029 werden3205 und einen Sohn1121 gebären3205.

4 So hüte dich8104 nun, daß du8354 nicht Wein3196 noch stark Getränke trinkest und nichts Unreines2931 essest398.

5 Denn du wirst schwanger werden2030 und einen Sohn1121 gebären3205, dem kein Schermesser4177 soll aufs Haupt7218 kommen5927. Denn der Knabe5288 wird ein Verlobter Gottes430 sein von Mutterleibe990; und er wird anfahen, Israel3478 zu erlösen3467 aus der Philister6430 Hand3027.

6 Da kam935 das Weib802 und sagte559 es ihrem Manne376 an und sprach559: Es kam935 ein Mann376 Gottes430 zu3966 mir, und seine Gestalt4758 war anzusehen4758 wie ein Engel4397 Gottes430, fast erschrecklich3372, daß ich ihn8034 nicht fragte7592, woher oder wohin; und er sagte5046 mir nicht, wie er hieße.

7 Er sprach559 aber zu mir: Siehe, du8354 wirst schwanger werden2030 und einen Sohn1121 gebären3205. So trinke nun keinen Wein7941 noch3117 stark Getränke und iß398 nichts Unreines2932; denn der Knabe5288 soll ein Verlobter Gottes430 sein von Mutterleibe990 an bis in seinen Tod4194.

8 Da bat6279 Manoah4495 den HErrn136 und sprach559: Ach994, HErr3068, laß4994 den Mann376 Gottes430 wieder zu6213 uns kommen, den du gesandt7971 hast, daß er3384 uns lehre, was wir mit dem Knaben5288 tun935 sollen, der geboren soll werden3205.

9 Und GOtt430 erhörete die Stimme6963 Manoahs4495; und der Engel4397 Gottes430 kam8085 wieder zum Weibe802. Sie saß3427 aber auf dem Felde7704, und ihr Mann376 Manoah4495 war935 nicht bei ihr.

10 Da lief7323 sie802 eilend4116 und sagte5046 es ihrem Manne376 an7200 und sprach559 zu ihm: Siehe, der Mann376 ist mir erschienen, der heute3117 zu mir kam935.

11 Manoah4495 machte sich auf6965 und ging3212 seinem Weibe802 nach310; und kam935 zu dem Manne376 und sprach559 zu ihm: Bist du der Mann376, der mit dem Weibe802 geredet hat1696? Er sprach559: Ja.

12 Und Manoah4495 sprach559: Wenn nun kommen935 wird, das1697 du geredet hast, welches soll des Knaben5288 Weise4941 und Werk4639 sein?

13 Der Engel4397 des HErrn3068 sprach559 zu Manoah4495: Er soll sich hüten8104 vor allem, das ich dem Weibe802 gesagt559 habe.

14 Er soll nicht essen398, das aus3318 dem Weinstock1612 kommt, und soll keinen Wein3196 noch stark Getränke trinken8354 und nichts Unreines2932 essen398; alles, was ich ihr geboten6680 habe, soll er halten8104.

15 Manoah4495 sprach559 zum Engel4397 des HErrn3068: Lieber, laß dich halten6113, wir wollen dir6440 ein Ziegenböcklein zurichten6213.

16 Aber der Engel4397 des HErrn3068 antwortete559 Manoah4495: Wenn518 du gleich mich hie hältst6113, esse398 ich doch deiner Speise3899 nicht5927. Willst du aber dem HErrn3068 ein Brandopfer tun6213, so magst du es5930 opfern. Denn Manoah4495 wußte3045 nicht, daß es ein Engel4397 des HErrn3068 war.

17 Und Manoah4495 sprach559 zum Engel4397 des HErrn3068: Wie heißest du8034? daß wir dich preisen3513, wenn nun kommt935, was du geredet hast1697.

18 Aber der Engel4397 des HErrn3068 sprach559 zu ihm: Warum fragest du7592 nach meinem Namen8034, der doch wundersam6383 ist?

19 Da nahm3947 Manoah4495 ein Ziegenböcklein und Speisopfer4503 und opferte es auf5927 einem Fels6697 dem HErrn3068. Und er machte6213 es wunderbarlich. Manoah4495 aber und sein6381 Weib802 sahen7200 zu.

20 Und da die Lohe3851 auffuhr vom Altar4196 gen Himmel8064, fuhr der Engel4397 des HErrn3068 in6440 der Lohe3851 des Altars4196 hinauf5927. Da das Manoah4495 und sein Weib802 sahen7200, fielen5307 sie zur Erde776 auf5927 ihr Angesicht.

21 Und der Engel4397 des HErrn3068 erschien7200 nicht3254 mehr Manoah4495 und seinem Weibe802. Da erkannte3045 Manoah4495, daß es ein Engel4397 des HErrn3068 war.

22 Und4495 sprach559 zu seinem Weibe802: Wir müssen des Todes4191 sterben4191, daß wir GOtt430 gesehen7200 haben.

23 Aber sein Weib802 antwortete559 ihm: Wenn3863 der HErr3068 Lust2654 hätte, uns8085 zu töten4191, so hätte er das2063 Brandopfer5930 und Speisopfer4503 nicht7200 genommen von unsern Händen3027; er hätte uns auch nicht solches alles erzeiget, noch uns solches hören lassen, wie jetzt6256 geschehen ist3947.

24 Und8123 das Weib802 gebar3205 einen Sohn1121 und hieß7121 ihn8034 Simson. Und der Knabe5288 wuchs1431, und der HErr3068 segnete1288 ihn.

25 Und der Geist7307 des HErrn3068 fing an2490 ihn zu treiben6470 im Lager4264 Dan1835, zwischen Zarea und Esthaol847.

1 AND the children of Israel did evil again in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD delivered them into the hand of the Philistines for forty years.

2 And there was a certain man of Zedah, of the family of the Danites, whose name was Manoah; and his wife was barren, and never had children.

3 And the angel of the LORD appeared to the woman and said to her, Behold, you are barren, and have borne no children; but now you shall conceive, and bear a son.

4 Now therefore beware, lest you drink wine or strong drink; and you shall not eat anything unclean.

5 For lo, you have conceived and will bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head; for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb; and he will begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines.

6 Then the woman came and told her husband, saying, A man of God came to me, and his countenance was like the countenance of an angel of God, and I trembled exceedingly, and I did not ask him whence he was, nor did he tell me his name;

7 But he said to me, Behold, you have conceived, and you will bear a son; and from henceforth drink no wine nor strong drink, neither eat any unclean thing; for the child shall be a Nazarite to God from the womb to the day of his death.

8 Then Manoah entreated the LORD and said, I beseech thee, O LORD, let the man of God whom thou didst send come again to us and teach us what we shall do to the child that shall be born.

9 And the LORD hearkened to the voice of Manoah; and the angel of the LORD came again to the woman as she sat in the field; but Manoah her husband was not with her.

10 And the woman made haste and ran, and told her husband and said to him, Behold, the man has appeared to me, who came to me the other day.

11 And Manoah arose and went with his wife, and came to the man and said to him, Are you the man who spoke to this woman? And he said, I am.

12 And Manoah said, Now let your words come to pass. But tell me, what is the manner by which the child is to be brought up, and what shall we do to him?

13 And the angel of the LORD said to Manoah, Of all that I said to the woman let her beware.

14 She must not eat of anything that comes of the vine, neither shall she drink wine or strong drink, nor eat any unclean thing; all that I have commanded her let her observe.

15 Then Manoah said to the angel of the LORD, Let us detain you, and make ready a kid for you.

16 And the angel of the LORD said to Manoah, Though you detain me, I will not eat of your food; and if you will offer a burnt offering, you must offer it to the LORD. For Manoah did not know that he was the angel of the LORD.

17 And Manoah said to the angel of the LORD, What is your name, that when your sayings come to pass we may invoke your name?

18 And the angel of the LORD said to him, Why do you ask my name, seeing it is Glorious?

19 So Manoah took a kid with the meal offering, and offered it upon a rock to the LORD; and the angel praised the LORD; and Manoah and his wife looked on.

20 And when a flame went up toward heaven from off the rock, the angel of the LORD ascended in the flame of the altar. And Manoah and his wife looked on it, and fell on their faces to the ground and worshipped.

21 The angel of the LORD did no more appear to Manoah and to his wife. Then Manoah and his wife knew that he was an angel of the LORD.

22 And Manoah said to his wife, We shall surely die, because we have seen God.

23 But his wife said to him, If God were pleased to kill us, he would not have received a burnt offering and a meal offering from us, neither would he have showed us all these things at this time, nor would he have told such things as these.

24 And the woman bore a son, and called his name Samson; and the child grew, and the LORD blessed him.

25 And the Spirit of the LORD began to make Samson to travel with the host of Dan between Zedah and Eshtoal.

11 And Manoah arose and went with his wife, and came to the man and said to him, Are you the man who spoke to this woman? And he said, I am.
