Chapter 8

1 And it came1961 to pass in the sixth8345 year,8141 in the sixth8345 month, in the fifth2568 day of the month,2320 as I sat3427 in my house,1004 and the elders2205 of Judah3063 sat3427 before6440 me, that the hand3027 of the Lord136 GOD3069 fell5307 there8033 on me.

2 Then I beheld,7200 and see2009 a likeness1823 as the appearance4758 of fire:784 from the appearance4758 of his loins4975 even downward,4295 fire;784 and from his loins4975 even upward,4605 as the appearance4758 of brightness,2096 as the color5869 of amber.2830

3 And he put7971 forth7971 the form8403 of an hand,3027 and took3947 me by a lock6734 of my head;7218 and the spirit7307 lifted5375 me up between996 the earth776 and the heaven,8064 and brought935 me in the visions4759 of God430 to Jerusalem,3389 to the door6607 of the inner6442 gate8179 that looks6437 toward the north;6828 where834 8033 was the seat4186 of the image5566 of jealousy,7068 which provokes to jealousy.7069

4 And, behold,2009 the glory3519 of the God430 of Israel3478 was there,8033 according to the vision4758 that I saw7200 in the plain.1237

5 Then said559 he to me, Son1121 of man,120 lift5375 up your eyes5869 now4994 the way1870 toward the north.6828 So I lifted5375 up my eyes5869 the way1870 toward the north,6828 and behold2009 northward6828 at the gate8179 of the altar4196 this2088 image5566 of jealousy7068 in the entry.872

6 He said559 furthermore to me, Son1121 of man,120 see7200 you what4100 they do?6213 even the great1419 abominations8441 that the house1004 of Israel3478 commits6213 here,6311 that I should go7368 far7368 off from my sanctuary?4720 but turn7725 you yet5750 again,5750 and you shall see7200 greater1419 abominations.8441

7 And he brought935 me to the door6607 of the court;2691 and when I looked,7200 behold2009 a hole2356 in the wall.7023

8 Then said559 he to me, Son1121 of man,120 dig2864 now4994 in the wall:7023 and when I had dig2864 in the wall,7023 behold2009 a door.6607

9 And he said559 to me, Go935 in, and behold the wicked7451 abominations8441 that they do6213 here.6311

10 So I went935 in and saw;7200 and behold2009 every3605 form8403 of creeping7431 things, and abominable8263 beasts,929 and all3605 the idols1544 of the house1004 of Israel,3478 portrayed2707 on the wall7023 round5439 about.

11 And there stood5975 before6440 them seventy7657 men376 of the ancients2204 of the house1004 of Israel,3478 and in the middle8432 of them stood5975 Jaazaniah2970 the son1121 of Shaphan,8227 with every man376 his censer4730 in his hand;3027 and a thick6282 cloud6051 of incense7004 went5927 up.

12 Then said559 he to me, Son1121 of man,120 have you seen7200 what834 the ancients2204 of the house1004 of Israel3478 do6213 in the dark,2822 every man376 in the chambers2315 of his imagery?4906 for they say,559 the LORD3068 sees7200 us not; the LORD3068 has forsaken5800 the earth.776

13 He said559 also to me, Turn7725 you yet5750 again,5750 and you shall see7200 greater1419 abominations8441 that they do.6213

14 Then he brought935 me to the door6607 of the gate8179 of the LORD's3068 house1004 which834 was toward5921 the north;6828 and, behold,2009 there8033 sat3427 women802 weeping1058 for Tammuz.8542

15 Then said559 he to me, Have you seen7200 this, O son1121 of man?120 turn7725 you yet5750 again,5750 and you shall see7200 greater1419 abominations8441 than these.428

16 And he brought935 me into413 the inner6442 court2691 of the LORD's3068 house,1004 and, behold,2009 at the door6607 of the temple1964 of the LORD,3068 between996 the porch197 and the altar,4196 were about five2568 and twenty6242 men,376 with their backs268 toward413 the temple1964 of the LORD,3068 and their faces6440 toward the east;6924 and they worshipped7812 the sun8121 toward the east.6924

17 Then he said559 to me, Have you seen7200 this, O son1121 of man?120 Is it a light7043 thing to the house1004 of Judah3063 that they commit6213 the abominations8441 which834 they commit6213 here?6311 for they have filled4390 the land776 with violence,2555 and have returned7725 to provoke me to anger:3707 and, see,2009 they put7971 the branch2156 to their nose.639

18 Therefore will I also1571 deal6213 in fury:2534 my eye5869 shall not spare,2347 neither3808 will I have pity:2550 and though they cry7121 in my ears241 with a loud1419 voice,6963 yet will I not hear8085 them.

1 І сталося за шостого року, шостого місяця, п'ятого дня місяця сидів я в своє́му домі, а Юдині старші́ сиділи передо мною, — то впала там на мене рука Господа Бога.

2 І побачив я, аж ось подо́ба, на вигляд чоловіка: від виду сте́гон його й дололу — огонь, а від сте́гон його й догори — на вигляд ся́йва, ніби палаюча мідь.

3 І витягнув Він подобу руки, і взяв мене за волосся моєї голови, а Дух підійняв мене між землею та між небом, і впровадив мене до Єрусалиму в Божих виді́ннях, до входу вну́трішньої брами, зве́рненої на пі́вніч, де місце перебува́ння і́дола, що викли́кує заздрість.

4 І ось була там слава Ізраїлевого Бога, як той вид, що я бачив у долині!

5 І сказав Він до мене: „Сину лю́дський, зведи очі свої в напрямі на пі́вніч!“ І звів я очі свої в напрямі на пі́вніч, аж ось з пі́вночі, від брами же́ртівника, був той і́дол за́здрости при вході.

6 І сказав Він до мене: „Сину лю́дський, чи ти бачиш, що́ вони ро́блять! Це великі гидо́ти, що Ізраїлів дім робить тут, щоб віддали́тися від Моєї святині! Та ти зно́ву побачиш іще більші гидо́ти“.

7 І привів мене до входу подві́р'я, і побачив я, — аж ось дірка в стіні!

8 І сказав Він мені: „Сину лю́дський, прокопа́й дірку в стіні!“ І прокопа́в я в стіні, — аж ось вхід!

9 І сказав Він до мене: „Увійди, і побач ті злі гидо́ти, які вони роблять отут!“

10 І ввійшов я й побачив, аж ось усякий вид плазуна́ та огидли́вої звірини́, і всякі божки́ Ізраїлевого дому, накре́слені на стіні навко́ло круго́м.

11 А сімдеся́т чоловіка зо старши́х Ізраїлевого дому та Яазанія, Шафанів син, що стояв посеред них, стояли перед ними, і кожен мав у своїй руці свою кади́льницю, і підіймалися па́хощі з хмари кади́ла.

12 І сказав Він до мене: „Чи бачив ти, сину лю́дський, що́ роблять Ізраїлеві старші́ в темно́ті, кожен у кімна́тах своїх ідолів? Бо говорять вони: Господь нас не бачить, Господь покинув цей край“.

13 І сказав Він до мене: „Ти зно́ву побачиш ще більші гидо́ти, які вони ро́блять“.

14 І Він запрова́див мене до входу до брами Господнього дому що на пі́вночі, — аж ось там сидять жінки́, що оплакували Таммуза.

15 І сказав Він до мене: „Чи ти бачив, сину лю́дський? Ти зно́ву побачиш гидо́ти ще більші від цих!“

16 І Він запрова́див мене до вну́трішнього подві́р'я Господнього дому. Аж ось при вході до Господнього храму, між притво́ром та між же́ртівником, було біля двадцяти́ й п'яти чоловіка: спи́ни їхні — до Господнього храму, а їхні обличчя — на схід, і вони кла́нялися до сходу, до сонця.

17 І сказав Він до мене: „Чи ти бачив, сину лю́дський? Чи легко Юдиному дому, щоб не робити тих гидот, які вони роблять отут? Бо вони напо́внили Край наси́льством, і знову гнівають Мене, й ось вони держать зелені галу́зки при но́сі своїм.

18 Тому то й Я зроблю́ з лютістю: око Моє не змилується, і милосердя не буду Я мати. І вони будуть кли́кати сильним голосом в ву́ха Мої, та Я їх не почую!“

1 І сталося за шостого року, шостого місяця, п'ятого дня місяця сидів я в своє́му домі, а Юдині старші́ сиділи передо мною, — то впала там на мене рука Господа Бога.

2 Then I beheld,7200 and see2009 a likeness1823 as the appearance4758 of fire:784 from the appearance4758 of his loins4975 even downward,4295 fire;784 and from his loins4975 even upward,4605 as the appearance4758 of brightness,2096 as the color5869 of amber.2830

2 І побачив я, аж ось подо́ба, на вигляд чоловіка: від виду сте́гон його й дололу — огонь, а від сте́гон його й догори — на вигляд ся́йва, ніби палаюча мідь.

3 І витягнув Він подобу руки, і взяв мене за волосся моєї голови, а Дух підійняв мене між землею та між небом, і впровадив мене до Єрусалиму в Божих виді́ннях, до входу вну́трішньої брами, зве́рненої на пі́вніч, де місце перебува́ння і́дола, що викли́кує заздрість.

5 І сказав Він до мене: „Сину лю́дський, зведи очі свої в напрямі на пі́вніч!“ І звів я очі свої в напрямі на пі́вніч, аж ось з пі́вночі, від брами же́ртівника, був той і́дол за́здрости при вході.

6 І сказав Він до мене: „Сину лю́дський, чи ти бачиш, що́ вони ро́блять! Це великі гидо́ти, що Ізраїлів дім робить тут, щоб віддали́тися від Моєї святині! Та ти зно́ву побачиш іще більші гидо́ти“.

7 And he brought935 me to the door6607 of the court;2691 and when I looked,7200 behold2009 a hole2356 in the wall.7023

7 І привів мене до входу подві́р'я, і побачив я, — аж ось дірка в стіні!

8 Then said559 he to me, Son1121 of man,120 dig2864 now4994 in the wall:7023 and when I had dig2864 in the wall,7023 behold2009 a door.6607

8 І сказав Він мені: „Сину лю́дський, прокопа́й дірку в стіні!“ І прокопа́в я в стіні, — аж ось вхід!

9 And he said559 to me, Go935 in, and behold the wicked7451 abominations8441 that they do6213 here.6311

9 І сказав Він до мене: „Увійди, і побач ті злі гидо́ти, які вони роблять отут!“

10 So I went935 in and saw;7200 and behold2009 every3605 form8403 of creeping7431 things, and abominable8263 beasts,929 and all3605 the idols1544 of the house1004 of Israel,3478 portrayed2707 on the wall7023 round5439 about.

10 І ввійшов я й побачив, аж ось усякий вид плазуна́ та огидли́вої звірини́, і всякі божки́ Ізраїлевого дому, накре́слені на стіні навко́ло круго́м.

11 А сімдеся́т чоловіка зо старши́х Ізраїлевого дому та Яазанія, Шафанів син, що стояв посеред них, стояли перед ними, і кожен мав у своїй руці свою кади́льницю, і підіймалися па́хощі з хмари кади́ла.

13 І сказав Він до мене: „Ти зно́ву побачиш ще більші гидо́ти, які вони ро́блять“.

14 І Він запрова́див мене до входу до брами Господнього дому що на пі́вночі, — аж ось там сидять жінки́, що оплакували Таммуза.

15 І сказав Він до мене: „Чи ти бачив, сину лю́дський? Ти зно́ву побачиш гидо́ти ще більші від цих!“
