Chapter 1

2 To whom834 the word1697 of the LORD3068 came1961 in the days3117 of Josiah2977 the son1121 of Amon526 king4428 of Judah,3063 in the thirteenth7969 6240 year8141 of his reign.4427

3 It came1961 also in the days3117 of Jehoiakim3079 the son1121 of Josiah2977 king4428 of Judah,3063 unto5704 the end8552 of the eleventh6249 6240 year8141 of Zedekiah6667 the son1121 of Josiah2977 king4428 of Judah,3063 unto5704 the carrying away1540 of Jerusalem3389 captive in the fifth2549 month.2320

4 Then the word1697 of the LORD3068 came1961 unto413 me, saying,559

5 Before2962 I formed3335 thee in the belly990 I knew3045 thee; and before2962 thou camest forth3318 out of the womb4480 7358 I sanctified6942 thee, and I ordained5414 thee a prophet5030 unto the nations.1471

6 Then said559 I, Ah,162 Lord136 GOD!3069 behold,2009 I cannot3808 3045 speak:1696 for3588 I595 am a child.5288

7 But the LORD3068 said559 unto413 me, Say559 not,408 I595 am a child:5288 for3588 thou shalt go1980 to5921 all3605 that834 I shall send7971 thee, and whatsoever3605 834 I command6680 thee thou shalt speak.1696

8 Be not408 afraid3372 of their faces:4480 6440 for3588 I589 am with854 thee to deliver5337 thee, saith5002 the LORD.3068

9 Then the LORD3068 put forth7971 853 his hand,3027 and touched5060 5921 my mouth.6310 And the LORD3068 said559 unto413 me, Behold,2009 I have put5414 my words1697 in thy mouth.6310

10 See,7200 I have this2088 day3117 set6485 thee over5921 the nations1471 and over5921 the kingdoms,4467 to root out,5428 and to pull down,5422 and to destroy,6 and to throw down,2040 to build,1129 and to plant.5193

11 Moreover the word1697 of the LORD3068 came1961 unto413 me, saying,559 Jeremiah,3414 what4100 seest7200 thou?859 And I said,559 I589 see7200 a rod4731 of an almond tree.8247

12 Then said559 the LORD3068 unto413 me, Thou hast well3190 seen:7200 for3588 I589 will hasten8245 5921 my word1697 to perform6213 it.

13 And the word1697 of the LORD3068 came1961 unto413 me the second time,8145 saying,559 What4100 seest7200 thou?859 And I said,559 I589 see7200 a seething5301 pot;5518 and the face6440 thereof is toward4480 6440 the north.6828

14 Then the LORD3068 said559 unto413 me, Out of the north4480 6828 an evil7451 shall break forth6605 upon5921 all3605 the inhabitants3427 of the land.776

15 For,3588 lo,2009 I will call7121 all3605 the families4940 of the kingdoms4467 of the north,6828 saith5002 the LORD;3068 and they shall come,935 and they shall set5414 every one376 his throne3678 at the entering6607 of the gates8179 of Jerusalem,3389 and against5921 all3605 the walls2346 thereof round about,5439 and against5921 all3605 the cities5892 of Judah.3063

16 And I will utter1696 my judgments4941 against them touching5921 all3605 their wickedness,7451 who834 have forsaken5800 me, and have burned incense6999 unto other312 gods,430 and worshiped7812 the works4639 of their own hands.3027

17 Thou859 therefore gird up247 thy loins,4975 and arise,6965 and speak1696 unto413 them853 all3605 that834 I595 command6680 thee: be not408 dismayed2865 at their faces,4480 6440 lest6435 I confound2865 thee before6440 them.

18 For,589 behold,2009 I have made5414 thee this day3117 a defensed4013 city,5892 and an iron1270 pillar,5982 and brazen5178 walls2346 against5921 the whole3605 land,776 against the kings4428 of Judah,3063 against the princes8269 thereof, against the priests3548 thereof, and against the people5971 of the land.776

19 And they shall fight3898 against413 thee; but they shall not3808 prevail3201 against thee; for3588 I589 am with854 thee, saith5002 the LORD,3068 to deliver5337 thee.

耶利米書

第1章

1 便雅憫地亞拿突城的祭司中，希勒家的兒子耶利米的話記在下面。

2 猶大王亞們的兒子約西亞在位十三年，耶和華的話臨到耶利米。

3 從猶大王約西亞的兒子約雅敬在位的時候，直到猶大王約西亞的兒子西底家在位的末年，以至［unto］十一年五月間耶路撒冷人被擄的時候，耶和華的話也常臨到耶利米。

4 耶利米說，那時［Then］，耶和華的話臨到我說：

5 我未將你造在腹中，我已曉得你；你未出母胎，我已分別你為聖；我已立［ordained］你作列國的先知。

6 我就說：主耶和華啊，求你觀看［behold］。我不知怎樣說，因為我是年幼的。

7 耶和華對我說：你不要說我是年幼的，因為我差遣你到誰那裏去，你都要去；我吩咐你說甚麼話，你都要說。

8 不要懼怕他們的臉色［Be not afraid of their faces］：因為我與你同在，要拯救你。這是耶和華說的。

9 於是耶和華伸手按我的口，耶和華［LORD］對我說：看哪［Behold］，我已將我的話放在你口中［put my words in thy mouth］。

10 看哪，我今日立你在列邦列國之上，為要施行拔出、拆毀、毀壞、傾覆，又要建立、栽植。

11 耶和華的話又臨到我說：「耶利米，你看見甚麼？」我說：「我看見一根杏樹枝。」

12 耶和華對我說：「你看得不錯；因為我要急速施行［will hasten］我的話，使得成就。」

13 耶和華的話第二次臨到我說：「你看見甚麼？」我說：「我看見一個燒開的鍋，朝［toward］北而傾。」

14 耶和華對我說：「必有一災［an evil］從北方發出，臨到這地的一切居民。」

15 耶和華說：「看哪，我要召北方列國的眾族；他們要來，各安座位在耶路撒冷的城門入口［entering］，周圍攻擊城牆，又要攻擊猶大的一切城邑。

16 至於這民的一切惡，就是離棄了［forsaken］我、向別神燒香、敬拜［worshipped］自己手所造的，我要發出我的判語，攻擊他們。

17 所以你當束腰，起來將我所吩咐你的一切話告訴他們；不要因他們的臉色［faces］驚惶，免得我使你在他們面前羞愧［confound］。

18 看哪，我今日使你成為堅城、鐵柱、銅牆，與全地和猶大的君王、首領、祭司，並地上的眾民反對。

19 他們要攻擊你，卻不能勝你；因為我與你同在，要拯救你。這是耶和華說的。」

2 猶大王亞們的兒子約西亞在位十三年，耶和華的話臨到耶利米。

4 耶利米說，那時［Then］，耶和華的話臨到我說：

6 我就說：主耶和華啊，求你觀看［behold］。我不知怎樣說，因為我是年幼的。

7 But the LORD3068 said559 unto413 me, Say559 not,408 I595 am a child:5288 for3588 thou shalt go1980 to5921 all3605 that834 I shall send7971 thee, and whatsoever3605 834 I command6680 thee thou shalt speak.1696

7 耶和華對我說：你不要說我是年幼的，因為我差遣你到誰那裏去，你都要去；我吩咐你說甚麼話，你都要說。

8 Be not408 afraid3372 of their faces:4480 6440 for3588 I589 am with854 thee to deliver5337 thee, saith5002 the LORD.3068

8 不要懼怕他們的臉色［Be not afraid of their faces］：因為我與你同在，要拯救你。這是耶和華說的。

9 Then the LORD3068 put forth7971 853 his hand,3027 and touched5060 5921 my mouth.6310 And the LORD3068 said559 unto413 me, Behold,2009 I have put5414 my words1697 in thy mouth.6310

9 於是耶和華伸手按我的口，耶和華［LORD］對我說：看哪［Behold］，我已將我的話放在你口中［put my words in thy mouth］。

10 See,7200 I have this2088 day3117 set6485 thee over5921 the nations1471 and over5921 the kingdoms,4467 to root out,5428 and to pull down,5422 and to destroy,6 and to throw down,2040 to build,1129 and to plant.5193

11 耶和華的話又臨到我說：「耶利米，你看見甚麼？」我說：「我看見一根杏樹枝。」

12 耶和華對我說：「你看得不錯；因為我要急速施行［will hasten］我的話，使得成就。」

13 And the word1697 of the LORD3068 came1961 unto413 me the second time,8145 saying,559 What4100 seest7200 thou?859 And I said,559 I589 see7200 a seething5301 pot;5518 and the face6440 thereof is toward4480 6440 the north.6828

13 耶和華的話第二次臨到我說：「你看見甚麼？」我說：「我看見一個燒開的鍋，朝［toward］北而傾。」

14 Then the LORD3068 said559 unto413 me, Out of the north4480 6828 an evil7451 shall break forth6605 upon5921 all3605 the inhabitants3427 of the land.776

14 耶和華對我說：「必有一災［an evil］從北方發出，臨到這地的一切居民。」

15 For,3588 lo,2009 I will call7121 all3605 the families4940 of the kingdoms4467 of the north,6828 saith5002 the LORD;3068 and they shall come,935 and they shall set5414 every one376 his throne3678 at the entering6607 of the gates8179 of Jerusalem,3389 and against5921 all3605 the walls2346 thereof round about,5439 and against5921 all3605 the cities5892 of Judah.3063

15 耶和華說：「看哪，我要召北方列國的眾族；他們要來，各安座位在耶路撒冷的城門入口［entering］，周圍攻擊城牆，又要攻擊猶大的一切城邑。

16 And I will utter1696 my judgments4941 against them touching5921 all3605 their wickedness,7451 who834 have forsaken5800 me, and have burned incense6999 unto other312 gods,430 and worshiped7812 the works4639 of their own hands.3027

16 至於這民的一切惡，就是離棄了［forsaken］我、向別神燒香、敬拜［worshipped］自己手所造的，我要發出我的判語，攻擊他們。

17 Thou859 therefore gird up247 thy loins,4975 and arise,6965 and speak1696 unto413 them853 all3605 that834 I595 command6680 thee: be not408 dismayed2865 at their faces,4480 6440 lest6435 I confound2865 thee before6440 them.

17 所以你當束腰，起來將我所吩咐你的一切話告訴他們；不要因他們的臉色［faces］驚惶，免得我使你在他們面前羞愧［confound］。

18 For,589 behold,2009 I have made5414 thee this day3117 a defensed4013 city,5892 and an iron1270 pillar,5982 and brazen5178 walls2346 against5921 the whole3605 land,776 against the kings4428 of Judah,3063 against the princes8269 thereof, against the priests3548 thereof, and against the people5971 of the land.776

18 看哪，我今日使你成為堅城、鐵柱、銅牆，與全地和猶大的君王、首領、祭司，並地上的眾民反對。

19 And they shall fight3898 against413 thee; but they shall not3808 prevail3201 against thee; for3588 I589 am with854 thee, saith5002 the LORD,3068 to deliver5337 thee.

19 他們要攻擊你，卻不能勝你；因為我與你同在，要拯救你。這是耶和華說的。」
