8 And they dwelt3427 therein, and have built1129 thee a sanctuary4720 therein for thy name,8034 saying,559

12 O our God,430 wilt thou not3808 judge8199 them? for3588 we have no369 might3581 against6440 this2088 great7227 company1995 that cometh935 against5921 us; neither3808 know3045 we587 what4100 to do:6213 but3588 our eyes5869 are upon5921 thee.

15 And he said,559 Hearken7181 ye, all3605 Judah,3063 and ye inhabitants3427 of Jerusalem,3389 and thou king4428 Jehoshaphat,3092 Thus3541 saith559 the LORD3068 unto you, Be not afraid859 3372 408 nor408 dismayed2865 by reason of4480 6440 this2088 great7227 multitude;1995 for3588 the battle4421 is not3808 yours, but3588 God's.430

15 und3092 sprach559: Merket auf7181, ganz Juda3063, und ihr Einwohner3427 zu Jerusalem3389, und der König4428 Josaphat! So spricht559 der HErr3068 zu euch3372: Ihr sollt euch nicht2865 fürchten noch zagen vor6440 diesem großen7227 Haufen1995; denn ihr streitet4421 nicht, sondern GOtt430.

16 Tomorrow4279 go ye down3381 against5921 them: behold,2009 they come up5927 by the cliff4608 of Ziz;6732 and ye shall find4672 them at the end5490 of the brook,5158 before6440 the wilderness4057 of Jeruel.3385

16 Morgen4279 sollt ihr4672 zu ihnen hinabziehen3381; und siehe, sie ziehen an Ziz6732 herauf5927, und ihr werdet an sie treffen am Schilf im Bach5158 vor6440 der Wüste4057 Jeruel3385.

17 Ye shall not3808 need to fight3898 in this2063 battle: set yourselves,3320 stand5975 ye still, and see7200 853 the salvation3444 of the LORD3068 with5973 you, O Judah3063 and Jerusalem:3389 fear3372 not,408 nor408 be dismayed;2865 tomorrow4279 go out3318 against6440 them: for the LORD3068 will be with5973 you.

17 Denn ihr werdet nicht2865 streiten3898 in6440 dieser Sache. Tretet5975 nur hin und stehet und sehet das2063 Heil3444 des HErrn3068, der mit euch3372 ist7200, Juda3063 und Jerusalem3389! Fürchtet euch nicht und zaget nicht; morgen4279 ziehet aus3318 wider sie3320, der HErr3068 ist mit euch.

18 And Jehoshaphat3092 bowed his head6915 with his face639 to the ground:776 and all3605 Judah3063 and the inhabitants3427 of Jerusalem3389 fell5307 before6440 the LORD,3068 worshiping7812 the LORD.3068

18 Da beugte sich6915 Josaphat mit seinem Antlitz639 zur Erde776; und3092 ganz Juda3063 und die Einwohner3427 zu Jerusalem3389 fielen5307 vor6440 dem HErrn3068 und beteten den HErrn3068 an7812.

19 And the Levites,3881 of the children1121 of4480 the Kohathites,6956 and of4480 the children1121 of the Korhites,7145 stood up6965 to praise1984 the LORD3068 God430 of Israel3478 with a loud1419 voice6963 on high.4605

20 And they rose early7925 in the morning,1242 and went forth3318 into the wilderness4057 of Tekoa:8620 and as they went forth,3318 Jehoshaphat3092 stood5975 and said,559 Hear8085 me, O Judah,3063 and ye inhabitants3427 of Jerusalem;3389 Believe539 in the LORD3068 your God,430 so shall ye be established;539 believe539 his prophets,5030 so shall ye prosper.6743

20 Und3092 sie machten3318 sich7925 des Morgens1242 frühe auf5975 und zogen aus3318 zur Wüste4057 Thekoa8620. Und da sie auszogen, stund Josaphat und sprach559: Höret mir zu8085, Juda3063, und ihr Einwohner3427 zu Jerusalem3389! Glaubet539 an den HErrn3068, euren GOtt430, so werdet ihr sicher sein539; und glaubet539 seinen Propheten5030, so werdet ihr Glück haben6743.

21 And when he had consulted3289 with413 the people,5971 he appointed5975 singers7891 unto the LORD,3068 and that should praise1984 the beauty1927 of holiness,6944 as they went out3318 before6440 the army,2502 and to say,559 Praise3034 the LORD;3068 for3588 his mercy2617 endureth forever.5769

21 Und5975 er unterweisete das Volk5971 und3318 stellete die Sänger7891 dem HErrn3068, daß sie1984 lobeten in heiligem6944 Schmuck1927 und559 vor6440 den Gerüsteten2502 herzögen und sprächen: Danket3034 dem HErrn3068, denn seine Barmherzigkeit2617 währet ewiglich5769.

22 And when6256 they began2490 to sing7440 and to praise,8416 the LORD3068 set5414 ambushments693 against5921 the children1121 of Ammon,5983 Moab,4124 and mount2022 Seir,8165 which were come935 against Judah;3063 and they were smitten.5062

22 Und da6256 sie anfingen2490 mit Danken7440 und Loben8416, ließ5414 der HErr3068 den Hinterhalt693, der wider Juda3063 kommen war935, über die Kinder1121 Ammon5983, Moab4124 und die vom Gebirge2022 Seir8165 kommen; und schlugen sie.

23 For the children1121 of Ammon5983 and Moab4124 stood up5975 against5921 the inhabitants3427 of mount2022 Seir,8165 utterly to slay2763 and destroy8045 them: and when they had made an end3615 of the inhabitants3427 of Seir,8165 every one376 helped5826 to destroy4889 another.7453

23 Da stunden die Kinder1121 Ammon5983 und Moab4124 wider5975 die vom Gebirge2022 Seir8165, sie zu verbannen2763 und zu vertilgen8045. Und da sie die vom Gebirge Seir8165 hatten3427 alle aufgerieben3615, half5826 einer376 dem andern7453, daß sie sich3427 auch verderbeten.

24 And when Judah3063 came935 toward5921 the watch tower4707 in the wilderness,4057 they looked6437 unto413 the multitude,1995 and, behold,2009 they were dead bodies6297 fallen5307 to the earth,776 and none369 escaped.6413

24 Da aber Juda3063 gen Mizpe4708 kam935 an der Wüste4057, wandten sie sich6437 gegen den Haufen1995; und siehe, da lagen die toten Leichname6297 auf der Erde776, daß keiner entronnen6413 war5307.

25 And when Jehoshaphat3092 and his people5971 came935 to take away962 853 the spoil7998 of them, they found4672 among them in abundance7230 both riches7399 with the dead bodies,6297 and precious2530 jewels,3627 which they stripped off5337 for themselves, more than369 they could carry away:4853 and they were1961 three7969 days3117 in gathering962 853 of the spoil,7998 it1931 was so much.7227

25 Und3092 Josaphat kam935 mit seinem Volk5971, ihren Raub7998 auszuteilen962, und6297 fanden4672 unter ihnen so7227 viel7230 Güter7399 und962 Kleider und köstlich Gerät3627 und entwandten es ihnen, daß auch nicht5337 zu tragen4853 war2532; und teilten drei7969 Tage3117 den Raub7998 aus, denn es war sein viel.

26 Am vierten7243 Tage3117 aber kamen sie7121 zusammen6950 im Lobetal6010; denn daselbst lobten1288 sie den HErrn3068. Daher heißet die8034 Stätte4725 Lobetal6010 bis auf diesen Tag3117.

27 Then they returned,7725 every3605 man376 of Judah3063 and Jerusalem,3389 and Jehoshaphat3092 in the forefront7218 of them, to go again7725 to413 Jerusalem3389 with joy;8057 for3588 the LORD3068 had made them to rejoice8055 over their enemies.4480 341

27 Also kehrete jedermann von Juda3063 und376 Jerusalem3389 wieder7725 um7725, und3092 Josaphat an der Spitze7218, daß sie gen Jerusalem3389 zögen mit Freuden8057. Denn der HErr3068 hatte ihnen eine Freude gegeben8055 an ihren Feinden341.

28 And they came935 to Jerusalem3389 with psalteries5035 and harps3658 and trumpets2689 unto413 the house1004 of the LORD.3068

28 Und zogen935 gen Jerusalem3389 ein mit Psaltern5035, Harfen3658 und Trommeten zum Hause1004 des HErrn3068.

|
29 And the fear6343 of God430 was1961 on5921 all3605 the kingdoms4467 of those countries,776 when they had heard8085 that3588 the LORD3068 fought3898 against5973 the enemies341 of Israel.3478
|
29 Und die Furcht6343 Gottes430 kam8085 über alle Königreiche4467 in Landen776, da sie höreten, daß der HErr3068 wider die Feinde341 Israels3478 gestritten3898 hatte.

30 So the realm4438 of Jehoshaphat3092 was quiet:8252 for his God430 gave him rest5117 round about.4480 5439

31 And Jehoshaphat3092 reigned4427 over5921 Judah:3063 he was thirty7970 and five2568 years8141 old1121 when he began to reign,4427 and he reigned4427 twenty6242 and five2568 years8141 in Jerusalem.3389 And his mother's517 name8034 was Azubah5806 the daughter1323 of Shilhi.7977

31 Und3092 Josaphat regierete über Juda3063, und4427 war fünftunddreißig Jahre8141 alt1121, da er König4427 ward4427, und regierete fünfundzwanzig2568 Jahre8141 zu Jerusalem3389. Seine Mutter517 hieß8034 Asuba5806, eine Tochter1323 Silhis7977.

32 Und6213 er wandelte in dem5869 Wege1870 seines Vaters1 Assa und ließ nicht davon3212, daß er tat5493, was dem HErrn3068 wohlgefiel;

33 Howbeit389 the high places1116 were not3808 taken away:5493 for as yet5750 the people5971 had not3808 prepared3559 their hearts3824 unto the God430 of their fathers.1

33 ohne die Höhen1116 wurden nicht5493 abgetan; denn das Volk5971 hatte sein Herz3824 noch nicht geschickt zu3559 dem GOtt430 ihrer Väter1.

34 Now the rest3499 of the acts1697 of Jehoshaphat,3092 first7223 and last,314 behold,2009 they are written3789 in the book1697 of Jehu3058 the son1121 of Hanani,2607 who834 is mentioned5927 in5921 the book5612 of the kings4428 of Israel.3478

36 And he joined2266 himself with5973 him to make6213 ships591 to go1980 to Tarshish:8659 and they made6213 the ships591 in Ezion-geber.6100

37 Then Eliezer461 the son1121 of Dodavah1735 of Mareshah4480 4762 prophesied5012 against5921 Jehoshaphat,3092 saying,559 Because thou hast joined thyself2266 with5973 Ahaziah,274 the LORD3068 hath broken6555 853 thy works.4639 And the ships591 were broken,7665 that they were not able6113 3808 to go1980 to413 Tarshish.8659

37 Aber Elieser461, der Sohn1121 Dodavas1735, von Maresa4762, weissagte wider Josaphat und3092 sprach559: Darum daß du dich3212 mit Ahasja274 vereiniget hast2266, hat5012 der HErr3068 deine Werke4639 zerrissen6555. Und die Schiffe591 wurden zerbrochen7665 und mochten nicht aufs Meer8659 fahren.
