7 For1063 a bishop1985 must1163 be1511 blameless,410 as5613 the steward3623 of God;2316 not3361 self-willed,829 not3361 soon angry,3711 not3361 given to wine,3943 no3361 striker,4131 not3361 given to filthy lucre;146

8 But235 a lover of hospitality,5382 a lover of good men,5358 sober,4998 just,1342 holy,3741 temperate;1468

9 Holding fast472 the3588 faithful4103 word3056 as he hath been taught,2596 1322 that2443 he may be5600 able1415 by1722 sound5198 doctrine1319 both2532 to exhort3870 and2532 to convince1651 the3588 gainsayers.483

10 For1063 there are1526 many4183 unruly2532 506 and vain talkers3151 and2532 deceivers,5423 especially3122 they3588 of1537 the circumcision: 4061

11 Whose3739 mouths must be stopped,1993 1163 who3748 subvert396 whole3650 houses,3624 teaching1321 things which3739 they ought1163 not,3361 for filthy lucre's sake.5484 150 2771

12 One5100 of1537 themselves,846 even a prophet4396 of their846 own,2398 said,2036 The Cretians2912 are always104 liars,5583 evil2556 beasts,2342 slow692 bellies.1064

13 This3778 witness3141 is2076 true.227 Wherefore1223 3739 156 rebuke1651 them846 sharply,664 that2443 they may be sound5198 in1722 the3588 faith;4102

14 Not3361 giving heed4337 to Jewish2451 fables,3454 and2532 commandments1785 of men,444 that turn from654 the3588 truth.225

15 Unto the3588 pure2513 all things3956 are3303 pure:2513 but1161 unto them3588 that are defiled3392 and2532 unbelieving571 is nothing3762 pure;2513 but235 even2532 their846 mind3563 and2532 conscience4893 is defiled.3392

Глава 1

1 Павел, раб Божий, апостол же Иисуса Христа для веры избранных Божиих и познания истины, согласной с благочестием,

2 в надежде жизни вечной, которую прежде вечных времен обещал неложный Бог,

3 явил же в положенные сроки слово Свое в проповеди, которая вверена была мне по повелению Спасителя нашего Бога, —

4 Титу, истинному сыну по общей вере, — благодать и мир от Бога Отца и Христа Иисуса, Спасителя нашего.

5 Я для того оставил тебя на Крите, чтобы ты недоконченное доделал и поставил по всем городам пресвитеров, как я тебе приказал;

6 если кто безупречен, одной жены муж, детей имеющий верных, не обвиняемых в распутстве или непокорных.

7 Ибо епископ должен быть безупречен, как Божий домоправитель, не самодоволен, не гневлив, не склонен к вину, не задорен, не искал бы постыдной наживы,

8 но был бы страннолюбив, любил бы добро, был бы целомудрен, справедлив, благочестив, обладающим собой,

9 держался бы верного слова, согласного с учением, для того, чтобы он был силен и наставлять в учении здравом и возражающих обличать.

10 Ибо есть много непокорных, пустословов и обманщиков, особенно из обрезанных,

11 которым необходимо заграждать уста, им, которые разрушают целые дома, уча, чему не должно, из постыдной корысти.

12 Сказал же некто из них, их собственный пророк: Критяне всегда лжецы, злые звери, обжоры ленивые.

13 Свидетельство это истинно. По этой причине обличай их строго, чтобы они были здравы в вере,

14 не внимая иудейским басням и заповедям людей, отвращающихся от истины.

15 Всё чисто для чистых; для осквернённых же и неверных нет ничего чистого, но осквернены и ум их и совесть.

16 Они утверждают, что знают Бога, делами же отрекаются, будучи мерзки и непокорны и ни к какому доброму делу неспособны.

15 Всё чисто для чистых; для осквернённых же и неверных нет ничего чистого, но осквернены и ум их и совесть.
