Chapter 48

1 HEAR these things, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel and are come forth from the loins of Judah, who swear by the name of the LORD and make mention of the God of Israel, but not in truth nor in righteousness.

2 For they are called out of the holy city and they rely upon the God of Israel; the LORD of hosts is his name.

3 I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I showed them to you; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass.

4 Because I knew that you are obstinate and your neck is an iron sinew and your brow brass;

5 I have made them known to you from of old; before they came to pass I declared them to you, lest you should say, My idols did them; and my graven images and my molten images have saved me.

6 I have heard and seen all these things; and will you not declare them? I have proclaimed to you new things from this time, even hidden things, and you did not know them.

7 They are created now, and not of old; even before the day when you did not hear of them, lest you should say, Behold, I knew them.

8 Yea, you have neither heard nor known of them; nor were your ears opened of old; for I knew that you surely would lie and that you were called a wicked one from the womb.

9 For my name's sake will I defer my anger, and for my praise will I keep you, and I will not destroy you.

10 Behold, I have refined you, but not with silver; I have purified you in the furnace of affliction.

11 For my own sake, will I do it, that my name may not be polluted and that I may not give my glory to another.

12 Hearken to me, O Jacob and Israel, whom I called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.

13 My hand has laid the foundations of the earth, and my right hand has stretched out the heavens; when I call to them, they stand up together.

14 Assemble, all of you, and listen; who is there among you who can declare these things? The LORD has loved him, that he may do his will on Babylon and on the land of the Chaldeans.

15 I, even I, have spoken; yea, I have also called him; I have brought him and I have made his way prosperous.

16 Come near to me, listen to this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the creation, there am I; and now the LORD God, and his Spirit, has sent me.

17 Thus says the LORD, your Saviour, the Holy One of Israel: I am the LORD your God who teaches you not to do wrong, who leads you by the way that you should go.

18 O that you had hearkened to my commandments! Then your peace would have been as a river, and your righteousness as the waves of the sea;

19 Your descendants also would have been as the sand, and the offspring of your loins like the gravel thereof; their name would not perish nor be destroyed from before me.

20 Go forth from Babylon, flee from the Chaldeans; with a voice of singing declare this, proclaim it, and publish it even to the ends of the earth; say, The LORD has saved his servant Jacob.

21 They thirsted not when he led them through the deserts; he caused the waters to flow out of the rock for them; he bored through the rock, and the waters gushed out.

22 There is no peace to the wicked, says the LORD.

1 Выслушайте сие, дом Иакова, именующиеся именем Израиля, и от источника Иудина происшедшие, клянущиеся именем Иеговы и Бога Израилева исповедающие, хотя не в истине и не в правде.

2 Ибо они от града святого заимствуют имя свое, и на Бога Израилева опираются, Коего имя: Иегова воинств.

3 Прежнее Я задолго предсказывал; все то исходило из уст Моих, и Я предвещал и тотчас делал, и все сбывалось.

4 Поелику Я знал, что ты упорен, и что в шее твоей жилы железные, и чело твое медное;

5 То и предсказывал тебе задолго, прежде нежели приходили события, предъявлял тебе, чтобы ты не сказал: `идол мой сделал это, и истукан мой, и изваянный мой повелел сему быть`. -

6 Ты слышал, обозри все сие; и тогда вы не признаетесь ли сами? А ныне Я возвещаю тебе новое и сокрытое, и то, чего вы не знали.

7 Оно творится ныне, а не в старину происходило, и прежде нежели ты слышал о сем, чтобы ты не сказал: `вот! это я сам знал`.

8 Ты и не слышал, и не знал сего, и не отверзалось с давнего времени ухо твое: ибо Я знаю, что ты до крайности неверен, и от самого чрева матернего называешься непокорным.

9 Для имени Моего удерживаю гнев Мой против тебя, и для славы Моей укрощаю, чтобы не истребить тебя.

10 Се! расплавлю тебя, но не так как серебро; изберу тебя в горниле страдания.

11 Для Себя, для Себя Самого действую: ибо какое было бы нарекание! и не дам другому славы Моей. -

12 Послушай Меня, Иаков, и Израиль, призванный Мною: Я тот же; Я первый, и Я последний.

13 И Моя рука основала землю, и Моя десница небеса распростерла; Я воззвал к ним, все вкупе предстали.

14 Соберитесь все, и выслушайте: кто у них предсказал сие? Любимый Иеговою совершает волю Его над Вавилоном, и являет мышцу Его над Халдеею.

15 Я, Я сказал, и призвал его; Я привел его, и путь его благоуспешен.

16 Приступите ко Мне, выслушайте сие; Я и с начала не тайно говорил; прежде того времени, как сие будет осуществляться, там Я; и ныне послал Меня Господь Иегова и Дух Его.

17 Так говорит Иегова, Искупитель твой, Святый Израилев: Я Иегова, Бог твой, научающий тебя к твоей пользе, наставляющий тебя на ту стезю, которою должно тебе идти.

18 О, если бы ты был внимателен к заповедям Моим! тогда был бы как река мир твой, и праведность твоя как волны моря.

19 И семя твое было бы как песок, и происшедшее из чресл твоих как песчинки; не изгладилось бы, не истребилось бы имя его предо Мною.

20 Выходите из Вавилона, бегите из Халдеи с пением радости; объявите, разгласите это, распространяйте сию весть до пределов земли; говорите: `искупил Иегова раба Своего Иакова`.

21 И не жаждут они в пустынях, где Он ведет их. Он источает им воду из камня; и расселась скала, и полились воды.

22 Беззаконным же нет мира, говорит Иегова.

2 Ибо они от града святого заимствуют имя свое, и на Бога Израилева опираются, Коего имя: Иегова воинств.

3 I have declared the former things from the beginning; and they went forth out of my mouth, and I showed them to you; I did them suddenly, and they came to pass.

3 Прежнее Я задолго предсказывал; все то исходило из уст Моих, и Я предвещал и тотчас делал, и все сбывалось.

4 Поелику Я знал, что ты упорен, и что в шее твоей жилы железные, и чело твое медное;

5 I have made them known to you from of old; before they came to pass I declared them to you, lest you should say, My idols did them; and my graven images and my molten images have saved me.

5 То и предсказывал тебе задолго, прежде нежели приходили события, предъявлял тебе, чтобы ты не сказал: `идол мой сделал это, и истукан мой, и изваянный мой повелел сему быть`. -

6 I have heard and seen all these things; and will you not declare them? I have proclaimed to you new things from this time, even hidden things, and you did not know them.

6 Ты слышал, обозри все сие; и тогда вы не признаетесь ли сами? А ныне Я возвещаю тебе новое и сокрытое, и то, чего вы не знали.

7 They are created now, and not of old; even before the day when you did not hear of them, lest you should say, Behold, I knew them.

7 Оно творится ныне, а не в старину происходило, и прежде нежели ты слышал о сем, чтобы ты не сказал: `вот! это я сам знал`.

8 Yea, you have neither heard nor known of them; nor were your ears opened of old; for I knew that you surely would lie and that you were called a wicked one from the womb.

8 Ты и не слышал, и не знал сего, и не отверзалось с давнего времени ухо твое: ибо Я знаю, что ты до крайности неверен, и от самого чрева матернего называешься непокорным.

9 For my name's sake will I defer my anger, and for my praise will I keep you, and I will not destroy you.

9 Для имени Моего удерживаю гнев Мой против тебя, и для славы Моей укрощаю, чтобы не истребить тебя.

10 Behold, I have refined you, but not with silver; I have purified you in the furnace of affliction.

10 Се! расплавлю тебя, но не так как серебро; изберу тебя в горниле страдания.

11 For my own sake, will I do it, that my name may not be polluted and that I may not give my glory to another.

11 Для Себя, для Себя Самого действую: ибо какое было бы нарекание! и не дам другому славы Моей. -

12 Hearken to me, O Jacob and Israel, whom I called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.

12 Послушай Меня, Иаков, и Израиль, призванный Мною: Я тот же; Я первый, и Я последний.

13 My hand has laid the foundations of the earth, and my right hand has stretched out the heavens; when I call to them, they stand up together.

13 И Моя рука основала землю, и Моя десница небеса распростерла; Я воззвал к ним, все вкупе предстали.

14 Assemble, all of you, and listen; who is there among you who can declare these things? The LORD has loved him, that he may do his will on Babylon and on the land of the Chaldeans.

14 Соберитесь все, и выслушайте: кто у них предсказал сие? Любимый Иеговою совершает волю Его над Вавилоном, и являет мышцу Его над Халдеею.

15 I, even I, have spoken; yea, I have also called him; I have brought him and I have made his way prosperous.

15 Я, Я сказал, и призвал его; Я привел его, и путь его благоуспешен.

16 Come near to me, listen to this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the creation, there am I; and now the LORD God, and his Spirit, has sent me.

16 Приступите ко Мне, выслушайте сие; Я и с начала не тайно говорил; прежде того времени, как сие будет осуществляться, там Я; и ныне послал Меня Господь Иегова и Дух Его.

17 Thus says the LORD, your Saviour, the Holy One of Israel: I am the LORD your God who teaches you not to do wrong, who leads you by the way that you should go.

17 Так говорит Иегова, Искупитель твой, Святый Израилев: Я Иегова, Бог твой, научающий тебя к твоей пользе, наставляющий тебя на ту стезю, которою должно тебе идти.

18 O that you had hearkened to my commandments! Then your peace would have been as a river, and your righteousness as the waves of the sea;

18 О, если бы ты был внимателен к заповедям Моим! тогда был бы как река мир твой, и праведность твоя как волны моря.

19 И семя твое было бы как песок, и происшедшее из чресл твоих как песчинки; не изгладилось бы, не истребилось бы имя его предо Мною.

20 Выходите из Вавилона, бегите из Халдеи с пением радости; объявите, разгласите это, распространяйте сию весть до пределов земли; говорите: `искупил Иегова раба Своего Иакова`.

21 И не жаждут они в пустынях, где Он ведет их. Он источает им воду из камня; и расселась скала, и полились воды.

22 There is no peace to the wicked, says the LORD.
