Chapter 54

1 GIVE praise, O barren, you who did not bear; break forth into singing and rejoice, you who have not travailed with child; for more are the children of the barren than the children of her that is beloved by her husband, says the LORD.

2 Enlarge the place of your tents, and stretch forth the curtains of your habitations; spare not, lengthen your cords and strengthen your tent pegs;

3 For you shall expand on the right hand and on the left; and your descendants shall inherit the Gentiles and make the desolate cities to be inhabited.

4 Fear not, for you shall not be ashamed; neither shall you be rebuked, for you shall not be put to shame; you shall forget the shame of your youth and shall not remember the reproach of your widowhood any more.

5 For your LORD shall do thus to you; the LORD of hosts is his name, and your Saviour the Holy One of Israel; the God of the whole earth shall he be called.

6 For the LORD has called you as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and as a wife forsaken from her youth, says your God.

7 For in a little anger I have forsaken you; but with my great mercies I will gather you.

8 In a raging wrath I hid my face from you; but with my everlasting kindness I will have mercy on you, says the LORD, your Saviour.

9 This is like the days of Noah to me; for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth, so have I sworn that I would not be angry with you nor rebuke you.

10 For the mountains shall be brought low and the hills bent downward; but my kindness shall not depart from you, neither shall the covenant of your peace be removed, says the LORD, the Merciful One.

11 O you afflicted one, tempest-tossed and not comforted, behold, I will set your stones in beryl, and lay your foundations with sapphires.

12 And I will make your walls of jasper and your gates of crystal and your borders of precious stones.

13 And all your children shall learn of me; and great shall be the peace of your children.

14 In righteousness shall you be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from ruin, for destruction shall not come near you.

15 All those who are brought back by my hand shall enter into you; and they shall be as a place of refuge to your inhabitants.

16 Behold, I have created the smith who blows the coals in the fire and brings forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the ravager to destroy.

17 No weapon that is fashioned against you shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against you in judgment, you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, says the LORD.

1 Воспой, неплодная, не рождавшая; воспой песнь и ликуй, не мучившаяся родами: ибо у отверженной будет более сынов, нежели у замужней, говорит Иегова.

2 Распространи место кущи твоей, и да расширяют покровы жилища твоего; не держи, пусти длиннее верви твои, и колья твои утверди крепче.

3 Ибо ты распространишься направо и налево, и племя твое овладеет народами, и населят опустошенные города.

4 Не бойся, ибо не будешь посрамлена; и не стыдись, ибо не будешь поругана; но забудешь стыд бесплодной юности своей, и не будешь более вспоминать о бесславии вдовства своего.

5 Ибо супруг твой есть Творец твой; имя Его Иегова воинств, и Искупитель твой Святый Израилев, Богом всей земли называется.

6 Ибо как жену оставленную и скорбящую духом, призывает тебя Иегова, и как подругу юности, которая была отвержена, говорит Бог твой.

7 Я оставил тебя на мгновение малое, и с великим милосердием восприиму тебя.

8 В жару гнева Я сокрыл от тебя лице Мое на мгновение, и вечною милостью помилую тебя, говорит Искупитель твой, Иегова.

9 Ибо это у Меня Ноевы воды; как Я тогда клялся, что воды Ноевы не будут более ходить по земле; так и ныне клянусь не гневаться на тебя, и не клясть тебя.

10 Ибо горы сдвинутся, и холмы поколеблются; а милость Моя от тебя не отступит, и завет мира Моего не поколеблется, говорит милующий тебя Иегова.

11 Страдалица обуреваемая, безутешная! Се! Я полагаю камни твои в сурмиле, и осную тебя на сапфирах.

12 И сделаю зубцы твои из рубинов, и врата твои из камней огнистых, и всю ограду твою из драгоценных камней.

13 И все дети твои будут учениками Иеговы, и велик мир сынов твоих.

14 Праведностью будешь утверждена; будь далека от горести, ибо тебе бояться нечего, и от ужаса, ибо он не будет приближаться к тебе.

15 Се! уже не будет заходить к тебе никто из чужих для Меня: кто ни зашел бы к тебе, к тебе перейдет.

16 Се! Я творю кузнеца, который раздувает угли в огне, и производит орудия по ремеслу своему, и Я творю губителя, чтобы губить.

17 Всякое орудие, сделанное во вред тебе, будет бессильно; и всякий язык, который станет судиться с тобою, ты обличишь в несправедливости. Сие наследие рабов Иеговы, и праведность их от Меня, говорит Иегова.

5 Ибо супруг твой есть Творец твой; имя Его Иегова воинств, и Искупитель твой Святый Израилев, Богом всей земли называется.

14 Праведностью будешь утверждена; будь далека от горести, ибо тебе бояться нечего, и от ужаса, ибо он не будет приближаться к тебе.

15 Се! уже не будет заходить к тебе никто из чужих для Меня: кто ни зашел бы к тебе, к тебе перейдет.
