Amos

Chapter 7

1 THUS has the LORD God showed me: behold, a plague of locusts coming up in the beginning of springing up of the latter growth; and, 1o, it was the latter growth after the king's mowings.

2 And it came to pass when they had finished eating the grass of the land, then I said, O LORD God, forgive. Who shall raise up Jacob? For he is small in numbers.

3 Then the LORD averted this calamity: it shall not be.

4 Thus has the LORD God showed me: and, behold, the LORD God called the people to judge them by fire, and it devoured the great deep and did eat up a part.

5 Then I said, O LORD God, forgive. Who shall raise up Jacob? For he is small in numbers.

6 The LORD averted this calamity; this also shall not be.

7 Thus he showed me: and, behold, the LORD was standing upon a wall made of adamant, and a plumbline was in his hand.

8 And the LORD said to me, Amos, what do you see? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the LORD, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel; I will not again pass by them any more:

9 And the absurd shrines of Israel shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.

10 Then Amaziah the priest of Beth-el sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel, and the land cannot bear all his words.

11 For thus Amos is saying: Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be carried away captive out of their own land.

12 Also Amaziah said to Amos, O you seer, go, flee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there;

13 But prophesy, not again any more at Beth-el; for it is the king's sanctuary and it is the house of the kingdom.

14 Then Amos answered and said to Amaziah, I am not a prophet, neither a prophet's son; but I was a shepherd and a gatherer of wild figs;

15 And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said to me, Go, prophesy against my people Israel.

16 Now therefore hear the word of the LORD: You say, Do not prophesy against the house of Israel and do not teach against the house of Isaac.

17 Therefore thus says the LORD: Your wife shall play the harlot in your own city, and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword, and your land shall be divided by line; and you yourself shall die in a polluted land; and Israel shall surely be carried away captive from his land.

1 Вот что Владыка Господь, показал мне: Он готовил рои саранчи, когда царская доля была пожата, а поздняя трава начинала подниматься.

2 Когда они дочиста объели землю, я вскричал: — Владыка Господи, молю Тебя, прости! Как выжить Иакову? Он так мал!

3 И Господь смягчился. — Не будет этого, — сказал Господь.

4 Вот что Владыка Господь показал мне: Владыка Господь призвал огонь для суда, и тот иссушил великую пучину и пожрал землю.

5 И я вскричал: — О Владыка Господи, молю Тебя, остановись! Как выжить Иакову? Он ведь так мал!

6 И Господь смягчился. — Не будет и этого, — сказал Владыка Господь.

7 Вот что Он показал мне: Владыка стоял у стены, построенной по отвесу, со свинцовым отвесом в руке.

8 Господь спросил меня: — Что ты видишь, Амос? — Свинцовый отвес, — ответил я. Владыка сказал: — Вот, Я кладу отвес среди Моего народа, Израиля; Я больше не буду щадить их.

9 — Возвышенности Исаака будут опустошены, и святилища Израиля лягут руинами; Я поднимусь с мечом против дома Иеровоама.

10 Амасия, священник из Вефиля, послал Иеровоаму, царю Израиля, весть: «Амос замышляет против тебя заговор в самом сердце Израиля. Земля не в силах терпеть всех его слов.

11 Вот что говорит Амос: „Иеровоам умрет от меча, а Израиль непременно отправится в плен со своей земли“».

12 Амасия сказал Амосу: — Уходи, провидец! Возвращайся в иудейскую землю. Там зарабатывай на хлеб, там и пророчествуй.

13 Не пророчествуй больше в Вефиле — это капище царя и храм царства.

14 Амос ответил Амасии: — Я не пророк и не сын пророка. Я был пастухом и ухаживал за тутовыми деревьями.

15 Но Господь забрал меня от овец и сказал мне: «Иди, пророчествуй Моему народу, Израилю».

16 Итак, выслушай слово Господа. Ты говоришь: «Не пророчествуй против Израиля, перестань проповедовать против дома Исаака».

17 Поэтому вот что говорит Господь: «Городской блудницей станет твоя жена, твои сыновья и дочери падут от меча. Землю твою измерят и разделят, а сам ты умрешь в нечистой земле. Израиль же непременно пойдет в плен со своей земли».

10 Амасия, священник из Вефиля, послал Иеровоаму, царю Израиля, весть: «Амос замышляет против тебя заговор в самом сердце Израиля. Земля не в силах терпеть всех его слов.

11 For thus Amos is saying: Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be carried away captive out of their own land.

11 Вот что говорит Амос: „Иеровоам умрет от меча, а Израиль непременно отправится в плен со своей земли“».

12 Also Amaziah said to Amos, O you seer, go, flee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there;

12 Амасия сказал Амосу: — Уходи, провидец! Возвращайся в иудейскую землю. Там зарабатывай на хлеб, там и пророчествуй.

13 But prophesy, not again any more at Beth-el; for it is the king's sanctuary and it is the house of the kingdom.

13 Не пророчествуй больше в Вефиле — это капище царя и храм царства.

14 Then Amos answered and said to Amaziah, I am not a prophet, neither a prophet's son; but I was a shepherd and a gatherer of wild figs;

14 Амос ответил Амасии: — Я не пророк и не сын пророка. Я был пастухом и ухаживал за тутовыми деревьями.

15 And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said to me, Go, prophesy against my people Israel.

15 Но Господь забрал меня от овец и сказал мне: «Иди, пророчествуй Моему народу, Израилю».

16 Now therefore hear the word of the LORD: You say, Do not prophesy against the house of Israel and do not teach against the house of Isaac.

16 Итак, выслушай слово Господа. Ты говоришь: «Не пророчествуй против Израиля, перестань проповедовать против дома Исаака».
