1 The word1697 which834 came1961 to Jeremiah3414 from the LORD,3068 when king4428 Zedekiah6667 sent7971 to him Pashur6583 the son1121 of Melchiah,4441 and Zephaniah6846 the son1121 of Maaseiah4641 the priest,3548 saying,559

2 Inquire,1875 I pray4994 you, of the LORD3068 for us; for Nebuchadrezzar5019 king4428 of Babylon894 makes war3898 against5921 us; if194 so be that the LORD3068 will deal6213 with us according to all3605 his wondrous6381 works, that he may go5927 up from us.

3 Then said559 Jeremiah3414 to them, Thus3541 shall you say559 to Zedekiah:6667

4 Thus3541 said559 the LORD3068 God430 of Israel;3478 Behold,2005 I will turn5437 back5437 the weapons3627 of war4421 that are in your hands,3027 with which834 you fight3898 against the king4428 of Babylon,894 and against the Chaldeans,3778 which besiege6696 you without2351 the walls,2346 and I will assemble622 them into413 the middle8432 of this2063 city.5892

5 And I myself589 will fight3898 against you with an outstretched5186 hand3027 and with a strong2389 arm,2220 even in anger,639 and in fury,2534 and in great1419 wrath.7110

6 And I will smite5221 the inhabitants3427 of this2063 city,5892 both man120 and beast:929 they shall die4191 of a great1419 pestilence.1698

7 And afterward,310 3651 said5002 the LORD,3068 I will deliver5414 Zedekiah6667 king4428 of Judah,3063 and his servants,5650 and the people,5971 and such as are left7604 in this2063 city5892 from the pestilence,1698 from the sword,2719 and from the famine,7458 into the hand3027 of Nebuchadrezzar5019 king4428 of Babylon,894 and into the hand3027 of their enemies,341 and into the hand3027 of those that seek1245 their life:5315 and he shall smite5221 them with the edge6310 of the sword;2719 he shall not spare2347 them, neither3808 have pity,2550 nor3808 have mercy.7355

8 And to this2088 people5971 you shall say,559 Thus3541 said559 the LORD;3068 Behold,2005 I set5414 before6440 you the way1870 of life,2416 and the way1870 of death.4194

9 He that stays3427 in this2063 city5892 shall die4191 by the sword,2719 and by the famine,7458 and by the pestilence:1698 but he that goes3318 out, and falls5307 to the Chaldeans3778 that besiege6696 you, he shall live,2421 and his life5315 shall be to him for a prey.7998

10 For I have set7760 my face6440 against this2063 city5892 for evil,7451 and not for good,2896 said5002 the LORD:3068 it shall be given5414 into the hand3027 of the king4428 of Babylon,894 and he shall burn8313 it with fire.784

11 And touching the house1004 of the king4428 of Judah,3063 say, Hear8085 you the word1697 of the LORD;3068

12 O house1004 of David,1732 thus3541 said559 the LORD;3068 Execute1777 judgment4941 in the morning,1242 and deliver5337 him that is spoiled1497 out of the hand3027 of the oppressor,6231 lest6435 my fury2534 go3318 out like fire,784 and burn1197 that none369 can quench3518 it, because6440 of the evil7455 of your doings.4611

13 Behold,2005 I am against413 you, O inhabitant3427 of the valley,6010 and rock6697 of the plain,4334 said5002 the LORD;3068 which say,559 Who4310 shall come5181 down5181 against5921 us? or who4310 shall enter935 into our habitations?4585

14 But I will punish6485 you according to the fruit6529 of your doings,4611 said5002 the LORD:3068 and I will kindle3341 a fire784 in the forest3293 thereof, and it shall devour398 all3605 things round5439 about it.

1 Dies ist das Wort1697, so vorn HErrn3068 geschah zu Jeremia3414, da der König4428 Zedekia6667 zu ihm sandte Pashur6583, den Sohn1121 Malchias4441, und Zephanja6846, den Sohn1121 Maesejas, des Priesters3548, und ließ7971 ihm sagen559:

2 Frage1875 doch den HErrn3068 für1157 uns! Denn Nebukadnezar5019, der König4428 zu Babel894, streitet3898 wider uns, daß der HErr3068 doch mit uns tun6213 wolle nach allen seinen Wundern6381, damit er von uns abzöge5927.

3 Jeremia3414 sprach559 zu ihnen6667: So saget Zedekia:

4 Das spricht der HErr3068, der GOtt430 Israels3478: Siehe, ich will die Waffen3627 zurückwenden, die ihr in euren Händen3027 habt, damit ihr streitet4421 wider3898 den König4428 zu Babel894 und wider die Chaldäer3778, welche euch5437 draußen2351 an der Mauer2346 belagert6696 haben, und will sie559 zuhauf sammeln622 mitten8432 in der Stadt5892.

5 Und ich will wider euch streiten3898 mit ausgereckter5186 Hand3027, mit starkem2389 Arm2220, mit großem1419 Zorn639, Grimm2534 und Unbarmherzigkeit.

6 Und5892 will die Bürger dieser Stadt3427 schlagen5221, beide, Menschen120 und Vieh929, daß sie sterben4191 sollen durch eine große1419 Pestilenz1698.

7 Und danach, spricht5002 der HErr3068, will ich Zedekia6667, den König4428 Judas, samt seinen Knechten5650 und dem Volk5971, das in dieser Stadt5892 vor der Pestilenz1698, Schwert2719 und Hunger7458 überbleiben wird, geben5414 in die Hände3027 Nebukadnezars5019, des Königs4428 zu Babel894, und in die Hände3027 ihrer Feinde341 und in die Hände3027 derer, so ihnen nach310 dem Leben5315 stehen1245, daß er sie mit der Schärfe6310 des Schwerts2719 also schlage5221, daß kein Schonen2347 noch Gnade noch Barmherzigkeit2550 da sei.

8 Und5414 sage559 diesem Volk5971: So spricht559 der HErr3068: Siehe, ich lege euch vor6440 den Weg1870 zum Leben2416 und den Weg1870 zum Tode4194.

9 Wer in dieser Stadt5892 bleibt, der wird sterben4191 müssen durchs Schwert2719, Hunger7458 und Pestilenz1698; wer aber hinaus3318 sich3427 gibt zu2421 den Chaldäern3778, die5307 euch5315 belagern6696, der soll lebendig2421 bleiben und soll sein Leben als eine Ausbeute7998 behalten.

10 Denn ich habe7760 mein Angesicht6440 über diese Stadt5892 gerichtet zum Unglück7451 und zu keinem Guten2896, spricht5002 der HErr3068. Sie5414 soll dem Könige4428 zu Babel894 übergeben werden8313, daß er sie3027 mit Feuer784 verbrenne.

11 Und höret8085 des HErrn3068 Wort1697, ihr vom Hause1004 des Königs4428 Judas!

12 Du559 Haus1004 David1732, so spricht der HErr3068: Haltet1777 des Morgens1242 Gericht4941 und errettet den Beraubten1497 aus3318 des Frevlers6231 Hand3027, auf6440 daß mein Grimm2534 nicht5337 ausfahre wie ein Feuer784 und brenne1197 also, daß niemand löschen möge, um eures bösen7455 Wesens willen4611.

13 Siehe, spricht5002 der HErr3068, ich sage559 dir, die3427 du wohnest im Grunde6010, in dem Felsen6697 und auf der Ebene4334 und sprichst: Wer will935 uns überfallen5181 oder in unsere Feste4585 kommen?

14 Ich will euch heimsuchen6485, spricht5002 der HErr3068, nach der Frucht6529 eures Tuns4611; ich will ein Feuer784 anzünden3341 in ihrem Walde3293, das soll alles umher5439 verzehren398.
