2 And the captain7227 of the guard2876 took3947 Jeremiah,3414 and said559 to him, The LORD3068 your God430 has pronounced1696 this2063 evil7451 on this2088 place.4725

2 Da nun der Hauptmann7227 Jeremia3414 zu sich hatte1696 lassen holen, sprach559 er zu ihm: Der HErr3068, dein GOtt430, hat3947 dies Unglück7451 über diese Stätte4725 geredet

3 Now the LORD3068 has brought935 it, and done6213 according as he has said:1696 because3588 you have sinned2398 against the LORD,3068 and have not obeyed8085 his voice,6963 therefore this2088 thing1697 is come1961 on you.

3 und3068 hat1696 es auch kommen lassen8085 und getan6213, wie er geredet hat2398; denn ihr habt gesündiget wider den HErrn3068 und seiner Stimme6963 nicht gehorchet; darum ist935 euch solches1697 widerfahren.

4 And now,6258 behold,2009 I loose6605 you this day3117 from the chains246 which834 were on your hand.3027 If518 it seem5869 good2896 to you to come935 with me into Babylon,894 come;935 and I will look7760 well to you: but if518 it seem5869 ill7489 to you to come935 with me into Babylon,894 forbear:2308 behold,7200 all3605 the land776 is before6440 you: where413 it seems5869 good2896 and convenient3477 for you to go,3212 thither8033 go.3212

Gefällt5869 dir‘s, mit413 mir6440 gen Babel894 zu ziehen6605, so komm3212, du7489 sollst mir befohlen sein; gefällt5869 dir‘s aber nicht, mit mir gen Babel894 zu ziehen935, so laß es anstehen. Siehe, da hast du das ganze Land776 vor5869 dir; wo dich‘s gut dünkt und7760 dir gefällt5869, da zeuch hin3212.

5 Denn weiter7227 hinaus wird kein Wiederkehren7725 sein7725. Darum magst du kehren zu Gedalja1436, dem Sohn1121 Ahikams296, des Sohns Saphans8227, welchen der König4428 zu Babel894 gesetzt hat über6485 die3427 Städte5892 in Juda3063, und1121 bei demselbigen unter8432 dem Volk5971 bleiben; oder gehe3212, wohin dir‘s wohlgefällt. Und der Hauptmann gab5414 ihm Zehrung737 und Geschenke4864 und ließ7971 ihn5869 gehen3212.

7 Now when all3605 the captains8269 of the forces2428 which834 were in the fields,7704 even they and their men,582 heard8085 that the king4428 of Babylon894 had made Gedaliah1436 the son1121 of Ahikam296 governor6485 in the land,776 and had committed6485 to him men,582 and women,802 and children,2945 and of the poor1803 of the land,776 of them that were not carried1540 away captive1540 to Babylon;894

7 Da nun die Hauptleute, so auf1540 dem Felde7704 sich enthielten, samt ihren Leuten582 erfuhren, daß der König4428 zu8085 Babel894 hatte Gedalja1436, den Sohn Ahikams296, über8269 das776 Land776 gesetzt und2428 beide, über6485 Männer582 und Weiber802, Kinder1121 und die Geringen1803 im Lande, welche nicht gen Babel894 geführet waren6485,

8 Then they came935 to Gedaliah1436 to Mizpah,4708 even Ishmael3458 the son1121 of Nethaniah,5418 and Johanan3110 and Jonathan3129 the sons1121 of Kareah,7143 and Seraiah8304 the son1121 of Tanhumeth,8576 and the sons1121 of Ephai5778 the Netophathite,5200 and Jezaniah3153 the son1121 of a Maachathite,4602 they and their men.582

9 And Gedaliah1436 the son1121 of Ahikam296 the son1121 of Shaphan8227 swore7650 to them and to their men,582 saying,559 Fear3372 not to serve5647 the Chaldeans:3778 dwell3427 in the land,776 and serve5647 the king4428 of Babylon,894 and it shall be well3190 with you.

9 Und1121 Gedalja1436, der Sohn1121 Ahikams296, des Sohns Saphans8227, tat3190 ihnen und5647 ihren Männern582 einen Eid7650 und sprach559: Fürchtet euch3372 nicht, daß ihr3427 den Chaldäern3778 untertan sein5647 sollet; bleibet im Lande776 und seid dem Könige4428 zu Babel894 untertan, so wird‘s euch wohlgehen.

10 As for me, behold,2005 I will dwell3427 at Mizpah,4708 to serve5975 6440 the Chaldeans,3778 which834 will come935 to us: but you, gather622 you wine,3196 and summer7019 fruits, and oil,8081 and put7760 them in your vessels,3627 and dwell3427 in your cities5892 that you have taken.8610

10 Siehe, ich8610 wohne3427 hie zu Mizpa4709, daß ich den Chaldäern3778 diene, die zu uns kommen935. Darum so sammelt ein den Wein3196 und5975 Feigen7019 und7760 Öl8081 und leget es in6440 eure Gefäße3627 und wohnet in euren Städten5892, die ihr3427 bekommen habt622.

12 Even all3605 the Jews3064 returned7725 out of all3605 places4725 where834 8033 they were driven,5080 and came935 to the land776 of Judah,3063 to Gedaliah,1436 to Mizpah,4708 and gathered622 wine3196 and summer7019 fruits very3966 much.3966

12 kamen sie alle3064 wieder7725 von allen Orten4725, dahin sie verstoßen5080 waren935, ins Land776 Juda3063 zu Gedalja1436 gen Mizpa4708 und sammelten622 ein sehr3966 viel7235 Weins3196 und Sommerfrüchte7019.

13 Moreover Johanan3110 the son1121 of Kareah,7143 and all3605 the captains8269 of the forces2428 that were in the fields,7704 came935 to Gedaliah1436 to Mizpah,4708

13 Aber Johanan3110, der Sohn1121 Kareahs7143, samt all den Hauptleuten8269, so auf dem Felde7704 sich enthalten hatten, kamen935 zu Gedalja1436 gen Mizpa4708

14 And said559 to him, Do you certainly know3045 that Baalis1185 the king4428 of the Ammonites5984 has sent7971 Ishmael3458 the son1121 of Nethaniah5418 to slay5221 5315 you? But Gedaliah1436 the son1121 of Ahikam296 believed539 them not.

14 und sprachen559 zu ihm: Weißt3045 du auch, daß Baalis1185, der König4428 der Kinder Ammon5983, gesandt7971 hat3045 Ismael3458, den5315 Sohn Nethanjas5418, daß er5221 dich soll erschlagen? Das wollte ihnen aber Gedalja1436, der Sohn Ahikams296, nicht glauben539.

15 Da sprach559 Johanan3110, der Sohn1121 Kareahs7143, zu Gedalja1436 heimlich5643 zu Mizpa4709: Lieber, ich559 will hingehen3212 und Ismael3458, den5315 Sohn1121 Nethanjas5418, schlagen5221, daß es niemand erfahren3045 soll. Warum soll er376 dich erschlagen5221, daß alle Juden3064, so zu dir versammelt6908 sind7611, zerstreuet werden6327 und die noch aus Juda3063 überblieben sind, umkommen6?

16 Aber Gedalja1436, der Sohn1121 Ahikams296, sprach559 zu Johanan3110, dem Sohn1121 Kareahs7143: Du sollst1696 das1697 nicht tun6213; es ist nicht wahr8267, das du von Ismael3458 sagest.
