3 Therefore5921 3651 are my loins4975 filled4390 with pain:2479 pangs6735 have taken270 hold270 on me, as the pangs6735 of a woman that travails:3205 I was bowed5791 down at the hearing8085 of it; I was dismayed926 at the seeing7200 of it.

4 My heart3824 panted,8582 fearfulness6427 affrighted1204 me: the night5399 of my pleasure2837 has he turned7760 into fear2731 to me.

5 Prepare6186 the table,7979 watch6822 in the watchtower,6844 eat,398 drink:8354 arise,6965 you princes,8269 and anoint4886 the shield.4043

15 For they fled5074 from the swords,2719 from the drawn5203 sword,2719 and from the bent1869 bow,7198 and from the grievousness3514 of war.4421

1 Предсказание о пустыне близ моря. Как южный вихрь налетает, так и враг приходит из пустыни, из земли страшной.

2 Явлено мне грозное видение: предает предатель, губит губитель! «Поднимайся, Элам, осаждай, Мидия! Положу Я конец стенаниям их жертв».

3 Потому боль нестерпимая охватила чрево мое, муки меня объяли, подобные родовым схваткам: скрутило меня — ничего не слышу, страшно мне — не вижу ничего.

4 Сердце трепещет, от ужаса дрожу, прежде столь желанные сумерки нагоняют страх.

5 Столы накрывают, ковры расстилают, пируют и пьют… Но вдруг клич раздается: «Вставайте же, князья, к бою щиты приготовьте!»

6 И вот что сказал мне Владыка Господь: «Поставь дозорного, пусть возвестит о том, что увидит.

7 Когда заметит конных, что скачут попарно, наездников на верблюдах и на ослах — пусть внимательно прислушается, весьма чутко!»

8 И вот прокричал дозорный: «Господин, целый день стою я на страже и всю ночь в дозоре!

9 Вижу, попарно едут на лошадях!» Затем провозгласил: «Пал, пал Вавилон! Сокрушены все идолы его и на землю повержены».

10 О народ мой, на гумне обмолоченный и обвеянный! Что услышал я от ГОСПОДА Воинств, Бога Израиля, то тебе и возвещаю.

11 Предсказание о Думе. Кричат мне с Сеира: «Стражник, скоро ли утро настанет? Стражник, скоро ли утро наступит?»

12 Отвечает стражник: «Утро близится, но следом идет ночь. Если захотите еще спросить — приходите, спрашивайте».

13 Предсказание об Аравии. В аравийском лесу ночевать вам придется, караваны деданские!

14 А вы, кто живет на земле Темы, жаждущему подайте воды, голодного хлебом встречайте —

15 ведь они от меча бежали, от меча обнаженного и лука натянутого, от жестокой битвы.

16 Так сказал мне Владыка Господь: «Пройдет ровно год, день в день, и исчезнет слава Кедара,

17 уцелеет лишь горстка из всех кедарских лучников могучих», — ГОСПОДЬ, Бог Израиля, сказал это.
