Chapter 7

1 Thus3541 has the Lord136 GOD3069 showed7200 to me; and, behold,2009 he formed3335 grasshoppers1462 in the beginning8462 of the shooting5927 up of the latter3954 growth;3954 and, see,2009 it was the latter3954 growth3954 after310 the king's4428 mowings.1488

2 And it came1961 to pass, that when518 they had made an end3615 of eating398 the grass6212 of the land,776 then I said,559 O Lord136 GOD,3069 forgive,5545 I beseech4994 you: by whom4310 shall Jacob3290 arise?6965 for he is small.6996

3 The LORD3068 repented5162 for this:2063 It shall not be, said559 the LORD.3068

4 Thus3541 has the Lord136 GOD3069 showed7200 to me: and, behold,2009 the Lord136 GOD3069 called7121 to contend7378 by fire,784 and it devoured398 the great7227 deep,8415 and did eat398 up a part.2506

5 Then said559 I, O Lord136 GOD,3069 cease,2308 I beseech4994 you: by whom4310 shall Jacob3290 arise?6965 for he is small.6996

6 The LORD3068 repented5162 for this:2063 This1931 also shall not be, said559 the Lord136 GOD.3069

7 Thus3541 he showed7200 me: and, behold,2009 the LORD136 stood5324 on a wall2346 made by a plumb line,594 with a plumb line594 in his hand.3027

8 And the LORD3068 said559 to me, Amos,5986 what4100 see7200 you? And I said,559 A plumb line.594 Then said559 the LORD,136 Behold,2005 I will set7760 a plumb line594 in the middle7130 of my people5971 Israel:3478 I will not again3254 pass5674 by them any more:5750

9 And the high1116 places of Isaac3446 shall be desolate,8074 and the sanctuaries4720 of Israel3478 shall be laid waste;2717 and I will rise6965 against5921 the house1004 of Jeroboam3379 with the sword.2719

10 Then Amaziah558 the priest3548 of Bethel1008 sent7971 to Jeroboam3379 king4428 of Israel,3478 saying,559 Amos5986 has conspired7194 against5921 you in the middle7130 of the house1004 of Israel:3478 the land776 is not able3201 to bear3557 all3605 his words.1697

11 For thus3541 Amos5986 said,559 Jeroboam3379 shall die4191 by the sword,2719 and Israel3478 shall surely be led away captive1540 out of their own land.127

12 Also Amaziah558 said559 to Amos,5986 O you seer,2374 go,3212 flee1272 you away into413 the land776 of Judah,3063 and there8033 eat398 bread,3899 and prophesy5012 there:8033

13 But prophesy5012 not again3254 any more5750 at Bethel:1008 for it is the king's4428 chapel,4720 and it is the king's4467 court.1004

14 Then answered6030 Amos,5986 and said559 to Amaziah,558 I was no3808 prophet,5030 neither3808 was I a prophet's5030 son;1121 but I was an herdsman,951 and a gatherer1103 of sycomore8256 fruit:

15 And the LORD3068 took3947 me as I followed310 the flock,6629 and the LORD3068 said559 to me, Go,3212 prophesy5012 to my people5971 Israel.3478

16 Now6258 therefore hear8085 you the word1697 of the LORD:3068 You say,559 Prophesy5012 not against5921 Israel,3478 and drop5197 not your word against5921 the house1004 of Isaac.3446

17 Therefore3651 thus3541 said559 the LORD;3068 Your wife802 shall be an harlot2181 in the city,5892 and your sons1121 and your daughters1323 shall fall5307 by the sword,2719 and your land127 shall be divided2505 by line;2256 and you shall die4191 in a polluted2931 land:127 and Israel3478 shall surely go3212 into captivity1540 forth of his land.127

1 Господь Бог показал мне, что Он создал полчища саранчи, чтобы наслать её в то время, когда начал всходить второй урожай. Это был второй урожай после сбора царской доли от первого урожая.

2 И когда она опустошила всю землю, я воскликнул: «Господь, Бог мой, пощади! Как же выживет Иаков? Он ведь так мал!»

3 И сжалился Господь, сказав: «Этого не случится».

4 И ещё Господь Бог показал мне, что Он призвал огонь, чтобы вершить суд. Огонь пожрал великий океан и уже начал пожирать землю.

5 И тогда я воскликнул: «Господь, Бог мой, умоляю Тебя, остановись! Как же выжить Иакову? Он ведь так мал!»

6 И сжалился Господь, сказав: «И этому не быть».

7 И ещё показал мне Господь, что Он стоял у стены, отмеченной отвесом, держа в руке отвес.

8 Господь спросил меня: «Что ты видишь, Амос?» Я ответил: «Отвес». Тогда Господь объяснил мне: «Видишь, Я положу отвес среди Моего народа, Израиля. Я не позволю больше его нечестивости проходить незамеченной.

9 Будут разрушены жертвенные высоты Исаака, и святыни Израиля будут превращены в руины. Я восстану с мечом против семьи Иеровоама».

10 Амасия, священник из Вефиля, отправил такое послание царю Израиля Иеровоаму: «Амос строит заговор против тебя, а также подстрекает израильтян уничтожить тебя. Он так много говорит, что земля не выдерживает его слов.

11 Вот что Амос говорит: „Иеровоам умрёт от меча, а Израиль уведут в плен из своей земли”».

12 И сказал Амасия Амосу: «Ты, пророк, отправляйся в Иудею, там пророчествуй и зарабатывай себе на хлеб.

13 Не пророчествуй больше в Вефиле, потому что здесь находится святыня царя и храм Израиля».

14 Амос ответил Амасии: «Я не пророк и не принадлежу к семье пророков. Я был пастухом и ухаживал за сикоморовыми деревьями.

15 Но Господь призвал меня оставить овец и сказал: „Иди и пророчествуй Моему народу, Израилю”.

16 А теперь выслушай слово Божье. Ты говоришь: „Не пророчествуй против Израиля и не проповедуй против дома Исаака”.

17 Господь же так говорит: „Твоя жена станет блудницей, бродящей по городу, а твои сыновья и дочери погибнут от меча. Другие народы измерят и разделят твою землю, а сам ты умрёшь в чужой стране. Народ же Израиля будет выведен из своей земли как пленник”».

15 Но Господь призвал меня оставить овец и сказал: „Иди и пророчествуй Моему народу, Израилю”.

16 Now6258 therefore hear8085 you the word1697 of the LORD:3068 You say,559 Prophesy5012 not against5921 Israel,3478 and drop5197 not your word against5921 the house1004 of Isaac.3446

16 А теперь выслушай слово Божье. Ты говоришь: „Не пророчествуй против Израиля и не проповедуй против дома Исаака”.

17 Господь же так говорит: „Твоя жена станет блудницей, бродящей по городу, а твои сыновья и дочери погибнут от меча. Другие народы измерят и разделят твою землю, а сам ты умрёшь в чужой стране. Народ же Израиля будет выведен из своей земли как пленник”».
