Chapter 42

1 Behold2005 my servant,5650 whom I uphold;8551 mine elect,972 in whom my soul5315 delighteth;7521 I have put5414 my spirit7307 upon5921 him: he shall bring forth3318 judgment4941 to the Gentiles.1471

2 He shall not3808 cry,6817 nor3808 lift up,5375 nor3808 cause his voice6963 to be heard8085 in the street.2351

3 A bruised7533 reed7070 shall he not3808 break,7665 and the smoking3544 flax6594 shall he not3808 quench:3518 he shall bring forth3318 judgment4941 unto truth.571

4 He shall not3808 fail3543 nor3808 be discouraged,7533 till5704 he have set7760 judgment4941 in the earth:776 and the isles339 shall wait3176 for his law.8451

5 Thus3541 saith559 God410 the LORD,3068 he that created1254 the heavens,8064 and stretched them out;5186 he that spread forth7554 the earth,776 and that which cometh out6631 of it; he that giveth5414 breath5397 unto the people5971 upon5921 it, and spirit7307 to them that walk1980 therein:

6 I589 the LORD3068 have called7121 thee in righteousness,6664 and will hold2388 thine hand,3027 and will keep5341 thee, and give5414 thee for a covenant1285 of the people,5971 for a light216 of the Gentiles;1471

7 To open6491 the blind5787 eyes,5869 to bring out3318 the prisoners616 from the prison,4480 4525 and them that sit3427 in darkness2822 out of the prison3608 house.4480 1004

8 I589 am the LORD:3068 that1931 is my name:8034 and my glory3519 will I not3808 give5414 to another,312 neither my praise8416 to graven images.6456

9 Behold,2009 the former things7223 are come to pass,935 and new things2319 do I589 declare:5046 before2962 they spring forth6779 I tell8085 you of them.

10 Sing7891 unto the LORD3068 a new2319 song,7892 and his praise8416 from the end4480 7097 of the earth,776 ye that go down3381 to the sea,3220 and all that is therein;4393 the isles,339 and the inhabitants3427 thereof.

11 Let the wilderness4057 and the cities5892 thereof lift up5375 their voice, the villages2691 that Kedar6938 doth inhabit:3427 let the inhabitants3427 of the rock5553 sing,7442 let them shout6681 from the top4480 7218 of the mountains.2022

12 Let them give7760 glory3519 unto the LORD,3068 and declare5046 his praise8416 in the islands.339

13 The LORD3068 shall go forth3318 as a mighty man,1368 he shall stir up5782 jealousy7068 like a man376 of war:4421 he shall cry,7321 yea,637 roar;6873 he shall prevail1396 against5921 his enemies.341

14 I have long time4480 5769 holden my peace;2814 I have been still,2790 and refrained myself:662 now will I cry6463 like a travailing woman;3205 I will destroy5395 and devour7602 at once.3162

15 I will make waste2717 mountains2022 and hills,1389 and dry up3001 all3605 their herbs;6212 and I will make7760 the rivers5104 islands,339 and I will dry up3001 the pools.98

16 And I will bring1980 the blind5787 by a way1870 that they knew3045 not;3808 I will lead them1869 in paths5410 that they have not3808 known:3045 I will make7760 darkness4285 light216 before6440 them, and crooked things4625 straight.4334 These428 things1697 will I do6213 unto them, and not3808 forsake5800 them.

17 They shall be turned5472 back,268 they shall be greatly ashamed,954 1322 that trust982 in graven images,6459 that say559 to the molten images,4541 Ye859 are our gods.430

18 Hear,8085 ye deaf;2795 and look,5027 ye blind,5787 that ye may see.7200

19 Who4310 is blind,5787 but3588 518 my servant?5650 or deaf,2795 as my messenger4397 that I sent?7971 who4310 is blind5787 as he that is perfect,7999 and blind5787 as the LORD's3068 servant?5650

20 Seeing7200 many things,7227 but thou observest8104 not;3808 opening6491 the ears,241 but he heareth8085 not.3808

21 The LORD3068 is well pleased2654 for his righteousness' sake;4616 6664 he will magnify1431 the law,8451 and make it honorable.142

22 But this1931 is a people5971 robbed962 and spoiled;8154 they are all3605 of them snared6351 in holes,2352 and they are hid2244 in prison3608 houses:1004 they are1961 for a prey,957 and none369 delivereth;5337 for a spoil,4933 and none369 saith,559 Restore.7725

23 Who4310 among you will give ear238 to this?2063 who will hearken7181 and hear8085 for the time to come?268

24 Who4310 gave5414 Jacob3290 for a spoil,4933 and Israel3478 to the robbers?962 did not3808 the LORD,3068 he against whom2098 we have sinned?2398 for they would14 not3808 walk1980 in his ways,1870 neither3808 were they obedient8085 unto his law.8451

25 Therefore he hath poured8210 upon5921 him the fury2534 of his anger,639 and the strength5807 of battle:4421 and it hath set him on fire3857 round about,4480 5439 yet he knew3045 not;3808 and it burned1197 him, yet he laid7760 it not3808 to5921 heart.3820

1 看哪，我的僕人─我所扶持的［whom I uphold］；是我所揀選─心裏所喜悅的［in whom my soul delighteth］；我已將我的靈賜給他。他必將公理傳給外邦人［Gentiles］。

2 他不喧嚷，不揚聲，也不使街上聽見他的聲音。

3 壓傷的蘆葦他不折斷，將殘的燈火他不吹滅；他憑真實將公理傳開。

4 他不灰心，也不喪膽，直到他在地上設立公理；海島都等候他的訓誨。

5 創造諸天，鋪出［out］穹蒼、將地和地所出的一併鋪開、賜氣息給地上的眾人，又賜靈性給行在其上之人的神耶和華，他如此說：

6 我─耶和華憑公義召你，必扶持［hold］你的手，保守你，使你作眾民的約［covenant］，作外邦人的光；

7 開瞎子的眼，領被囚的出監［prison］，領坐黑暗的出監牢。

8 我是耶和華；這是我的名；我必不將我的榮耀歸給假神，也不將我的稱讚歸給雕刻的像［images］。

9 看哪，先前的事已經成就，現在我將新事說明；這些事［they］未發以先，我就說給你們聽。

10 航海的和海中所有的，海島和其上的居民，你們［ye］都當向耶和華唱新歌，從地極讚美他。

11 曠野和其中的城邑，並基達人居住的村莊都當揚聲；山崖［rock］的居民當歌唱［sing］，在山頂上吶喊。

12 他們當將榮耀歸給耶和華，在海島中傳揚他的頌讚。

13 耶和華必像勇士出去，必像戰士激動熱心。他必吶喊吼叫［he shall cry, yea, roar］；他必勝過他的［he shall prevail against his］仇敵。

14 我許久閉口不言；我［I］靜默不語。現在我要喊叫，像陣痛［travailing］的婦人；我要急行毀壞與吞滅［I will destroy and devour at once］。

15 我要使大山小岡變為荒場，使其上的花草都枯乾；我要使江河變為洲島，使水池都乾涸。

16 我要引瞎子行不認識的道；領他們走不知道的路。在他們面前使黑暗變為光明，使彎曲的［crooked things］變為平直。這些事我都要向他們［unto them］行，並不離棄他們。

17 倚靠雕刻的像［images］，對鑄造的像［images］說：你是我們的神；這等人要退後，大大［greatly］蒙羞。

18 你們這耳聾的，聽吧；你們這眼瞎的，看吧，使你們能看見。

19 誰比我的僕人眼瞎呢？誰比我差遣的使者耳聾呢？誰瞎眼像那完全［perfect］的，瞎眼像耶和華的僕人呢？

20 看著［Seeing］許多事，你［thou］卻不領會；耳朵在開通［opening］，他［he］卻不聽見。

21 耶和華因自己公義的緣故就喜悅［The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness' sake］；他要［he will］使律法［law］為大，為尊。

22 但這百姓是被搶被奪的；都牢籠在坑中，隱藏在獄裏。他們作掠物，無人拯救；作擄物，無人說「交還」。

23 你們中間誰肯側耳聽此？誰肯留心而聽，以防將來呢？

24 誰將雅各交出當作擄物，將以色列交給搶奪的呢？豈不是耶和華─我們所得罪的那位嗎［did not the LORD, he against whom we have sinned］？因［for］他們不肯遵行他的道，也不聽從他的訓誨。

25 所以，他將猛烈的怒氣和爭戰的勇力傾倒在他［him］身上。在他四圍已經［hath］如火著起，他還不知道；燒著他，他仍不放在心上［yet he laid it not to heart］。

2 He shall not3808 cry,6817 nor3808 lift up,5375 nor3808 cause his voice6963 to be heard8085 in the street.2351

2 他不喧嚷，不揚聲，也不使街上聽見他的聲音。

6 我─耶和華憑公義召你，必扶持［hold］你的手，保守你，使你作眾民的約［covenant］，作外邦人的光；

7 To open6491 the blind5787 eyes,5869 to bring out3318 the prisoners616 from the prison,4480 4525 and them that sit3427 in darkness2822 out of the prison3608 house.4480 1004

7 開瞎子的眼，領被囚的出監［prison］，領坐黑暗的出監牢。

8 I589 am the LORD:3068 that1931 is my name:8034 and my glory3519 will I not3808 give5414 to another,312 neither my praise8416 to graven images.6456

8 我是耶和華；這是我的名；我必不將我的榮耀歸給假神，也不將我的稱讚歸給雕刻的像［images］。

10 航海的和海中所有的，海島和其上的居民，你們［ye］都當向耶和華唱新歌，從地極讚美他。

13 耶和華必像勇士出去，必像戰士激動熱心。他必吶喊吼叫［he shall cry, yea, roar］；他必勝過他的［he shall prevail against his］仇敵。

14 我許久閉口不言；我［I］靜默不語。現在我要喊叫，像陣痛［travailing］的婦人；我要急行毀壞與吞滅［I will destroy and devour at once］。

15 I will make waste2717 mountains2022 and hills,1389 and dry up3001 all3605 their herbs;6212 and I will make7760 the rivers5104 islands,339 and I will dry up3001 the pools.98

15 我要使大山小岡變為荒場，使其上的花草都枯乾；我要使江河變為洲島，使水池都乾涸。

16 我要引瞎子行不認識的道；領他們走不知道的路。在他們面前使黑暗變為光明，使彎曲的［crooked things］變為平直。這些事我都要向他們［unto them］行，並不離棄他們。

17 倚靠雕刻的像［images］，對鑄造的像［images］說：你是我們的神；這等人要退後，大大［greatly］蒙羞。

19 誰比我的僕人眼瞎呢？誰比我差遣的使者耳聾呢？誰瞎眼像那完全［perfect］的，瞎眼像耶和華的僕人呢？
