10 Denn wo viel7235 Guts ist, da sind viele7231, die es essen398; und was2896 geneußt sein, der es hat1167, ohne daß518 er‘s mit Augen5869 ansiehet?

11 When goods2896 increase,7235 they are increased7231 that eat398 them: and what4100 good3788 is there to the owners1167 thereof, saving3588 518 the beholding7200 of them with their eyes?5869

11 Wer arbeitet, dem ist der Schlaf8142 süß4966, er habe5647 wenig4592 oder viel7235 gegessen398; aber die Fülle7647 des Reichen6223 läßt ihn3240 nicht schlafen3462.

12 The sleep8142 of a laboring man5647 is sweet,4966 whether518 he eat398 little4592 or518 much:7235 but the abundance7647 of the rich6223 will not369 suffer5117 him to sleep.3462

12 Es ist3426 eine böse7451 Plage, die ich sah7200 unter der Sonne8121, Reichtum6239 behalten8104 zum Schaden7451 dem, der ihn hat2470.

13 There is3426 a sore2470 evil7451 which I have seen7200 under8478 the sun,8121 namely, riches6239 kept8104 for the owners1167 thereof to their hurt.7451

13 Denn der Reiche6239 kommt um6 mit großem Jammer7451; und so er einen Sohn1121 gezeuget hat3205, dem bleibt nichts3972 in der Hand3027.

14 But those1931 riches6239 perish6 by evil7451 travail:6045 and he begetteth3205 a son,1121 and there is nothing369 3972 in his hand.3027

14 Wie er nackend ist935 von seiner Mutter517 Leibe990 kommen3318, so fährt er wieder7725 hin3212, wie er kommen ist5375, und nimmt nichts3972 mit sich3212 von seiner Arbeit5999 in seiner Hand3027, wenn er hinfähret.

15 Das ist935 eine böse7451 Plage, da er hinfähret, wie3212 er kommen ist. Was2090 hilft‘s ihm denn, daß er in den Wind7307 gearbeitet hat2470?

16 And this2090 also1571 is a sore2470 evil,7451 that in all3605 points5980 as he came,7945 935 so3651 shall he go:1980 and what4100 profit3504 hath he that hath labored7945 5998 for the wind?7307

16 Sein Leben, lang3117 hat er im Finstern2822 gegessen398 und in großem7235 Grämen3707 und Krankheit2483 und Traurigkeit.

18 Denn welchem Menschen120 GOtt430 Reichtum6239 und430 Güter5233 und Gewalt7980 gibt5414, daß er davon isset und trinket für sein8055 Teil2506 und fröhlich ist398 in seiner Arbeit5999, das2090 ist5375 eine Gottesgabe4991.

19 Denn er2416 denkt nicht6031 viel7235 an2142 das elende Leben3117, weil GOtt430 sein Herz3820 erfreuet.
