2 But neither3808 he,1931 nor his servants,5650 nor the people5971 of the land,776 did hearken8085 unto413 the words1697 of the LORD,3068 which834 he spoke1696 by3027 the prophet5030 Jeremiah.3414

2 Aber er und seine Knechte5650 und das776 Volk5971 im Lande gehorchten8085 nicht des HErrn3068 Worten1697, die er durch3027 den Propheten5030 Jeremia3414 redete1696.

4 Now Jeremiah3414 came in935 and went out3318 among8432 the people:5971 for they had not3808 put5414 him into prison.1004 3628

4 Denn Jeremia3414 ging935 nun unter8432 dem Volk5971 aus3318 und ein, und legte5414 ihn niemand ins Gefängnis.

5 Then Pharaoh's6547 army2428 was come forth3318 out of Egypt:4480 4714 and when the Chaldeans3778 that besieged6696 5921 Jerusalem3389 heard8085 853 tidings8088 of them, they departed5927 from4480 5921 Jerusalem.3389

5 So war das Heer2428 Pharaos6547 aus3318 Ägypten4714 gezogen, und die Chaldäer3778, so vor Jerusalem3389 gelegen, da sie6696 solch Gerücht8088 gehört8085 hatten, waren5927 von Jerusalem3389 abgezogen.

6 Then came1961 the word1697 of the LORD3068 unto413 the prophet5030 Jeremiah,3414 saying,559

7 Thus3541 saith559 the LORD,3068 the God430 of Israel;3478 Thus3541 shall ye say559 to413 the king4428 of Judah,3063 that sent7971 you unto413 me to inquire1875 of me; Behold,2009 Pharaoh's6547 army,2428 which is come forth3318 to help5833 you, shall return7725 to Egypt4714 into their own land.776

7 So spricht559 der HErr3068, der GOtt430 Israels3478: So saget dem Könige4428 Judas, der euch zu mir gesandt7971 hat559, mich zu fragen1875: Siehe, das776 Heer2428 Pharaos6547, das euch zu Hilfe5833 ist ausgezogen3318, wird wiederum7725 heim nach Ägypten4714 ziehen,

8 And the Chaldeans3778 shall come again,7725 and fight3898 against5921 this2063 city,5892 and take3920 it, and burn8313 it with fire.784

8 und die Chaldäer3778 werden wieder7725 kommen und wider diese Stadt5892 streiten3898 und sie3920 gewinnen und mit Feuer784 verbrennen8313.

9 Thus3541 saith559 the LORD;3068 Deceive5377 not408 yourselves,5315 saying,559 The Chaldeans3778 shall surely depart1980 1980 from4480 5921 us: for3588 they shall not3808 depart.1980

9 Darum spricht559 der HErr3068 also: Betrüget eure Seelen5315 nicht3212, daß ihr denket, die Chaldäer3778 werden1980 von uns abziehen. Sie559 werden3212 nicht abziehen.

10 For3588 though518 ye had smitten5221 the whole3605 army2428 of the Chaldeans3778 that fight3898 against854 you, and there remained7604 but wounded1856 men376 among them, yet should they rise6965 every man376 in his tent,168 and burn8313 853 this2063 city5892 with fire.784

10 Und wenn ihr schon schlüget5221 das ganze Heer2428 der Chaldäer3778, so wider euch streiten3898, und blieben7604 ihrer etliche582 verwundet1856 über, so würden sie doch ein376 jeglicher in seinem Gezelt168 sich aufmachen6965 und diese Stadt5892 mit Feuer784 verbrennen8313.

11 And it came to pass,1961 that when the army2428 of the Chaldeans3778 was broken up5927 from4480 5921 Jerusalem3389 for fear4480 6440 of Pharaoh's6547 army,2428

11 Als nun der Chaldäer3778 Heer2428 von6440 Jerusalem3389 war abgezogen5927 um des Heers willen Pharaos6547,

12 Then Jeremiah3414 went forth3318 out of Jerusalem4480 3389 to go1980 into the land776 of Benjamin,1144 to separate himself2505 thence4480 8033 in the midst8432 of the people.5971

13 And when he1931 was1961 in the gate8179 of Benjamin,1144 a captain1167 of the ward6488 was there,8033 whose name8034 was Irijah,3376 the son1121 of Shelemiah,8018 the son1121 of Hananiah;2608 and he took8610 853 Jeremiah3414 the prophet,5030 saying,559 Thou859 fallest away5307 to413 the Chaldeans.3778

13 Und da er unter das Tor8179 Benjamin1144 kam, da war1121 einer bestellet zum Torhüter1167 mit Namen8034 Jeria3376, der Sohn1121 Selemjas8018, des Sohns Hananjas2608; derselbige griff8610 den Propheten5030 Jeremia3414 und sprach559: Du willst zu den Chaldäern3778 fallen5307.

14 Then said559 Jeremiah,3414 It is false;8267 I fall5307 not369 away to5921 the Chaldeans.3778 But he hearkened8085 not3808 to413 him: so Irijah3376 took8610 Jeremiah,3414 and brought935 him to413 the princes.8269

14 Jeremia3414 sprach559: Das ist nicht wahr8267, ich8610 will nicht zu8085 den Chaldäern3778 fallen5307. Aber Jeria3376 wollte ihn nicht hören, sondern griff Jeremia3414 und brachte935 ihn zu den Fürsten8269.

15 Wherefore the princes8269 were wroth7107 with5921 Jeremiah,3414 and smote5221 him, and put5414 him in prison1004 612 in the house1004 of Jonathan3083 the scribe:5608 for3588 they had made6213 that the prison.1004 3608

15 Und6213 die Fürsten8269 wurden zornig7107 über Jeremia3414 und ließen ihn schlagen5221 und warfen ihn ins Gefängnis612 im Hause1004 Jonathans3083, des Schreibers5608; denselbigen setzten sie5414 zum Kerkermeister3608.

16 When3588 Jeremiah3414 was entered935 into413 the dungeon,1004 953 and into413 the cabins,2588 and Jeremiah3414 had remained3427 there8033 many7227 days;3117

16 Also ging935 Jeremia3414 in die Grube953 und Kerker2588 und lag3427 lange7227 Zeit3117 daselbst.

17 Then Zedekiah6667 the king4428 sent,7971 and took3947 him out: and the king4428 asked7592 him secretly5643 in his house,1004 and said,559 Is there3426 any word1697 from4480 854 the LORD?3068 And Jeremiah3414 said,559 There is:3426 for, said559 he, thou shalt be delivered5414 into the hand3027 of the king4428 of Babylon.894

18 Moreover Jeremiah3414 said559 unto413 king4428 Zedekiah,6667 What4100 have I offended2398 against thee, or against thy servants,5650 or against this2088 people,5971 that3588 ye have put5414 me in413 prison?1004 3608

18 Und Jeremia3414 sprach559 zum Könige4428 Zedekia6667: Was habe5414 ich wider dich, wider deine Knechte5650 und wider dies Volk5971 gesündiget, daß sie mich in den Kerker3608 geworfen haben2398?

19 Where346 are now your prophets5030 which834 prophesied5012 unto you, saying,559 The king4428 of Babylon894 shall not3808 come935 against5921 you, nor against5921 this2063 land?776

19 Wo346 sind935 nun eure Propheten5030, die euch weissagten5012 und sprachen559: Der König4428 zu Babel894 wird nicht über euch noch über dies Land776 kommen?

20 Therefore hear8085 now,6258 I pray thee,4994 O my lord113 the king:4428 let my supplication,8467 I pray thee,4994 be accepted5307 before6440 thee; that thou cause me not408 to return7725 to the house1004 of Jonathan3083 the scribe,5608 lest3808 I die4191 there.8033

20 Und nun, mein HErr113 König4428, höre8085 mich6440 und laß meine Bitte8467 vor dir gelten und laß mich nicht wieder7725 in Jonathans3083, des Schreibers5608, Haus1004 bringen, daß5307 ich nicht sterbe4191 daselbst.

21 Then Zedekiah6667 the king4428 commanded6680 that they should commit6485 853 Jeremiah3414 into the court2691 of the prison,4307 and that they should give5414 him daily3117 a piece3603 of bread3899 out of the bakers'644 street,4480 2351 until5704 all3605 the bread3899 in4480 the city5892 were spent.8552 Thus Jeremiah3414 remained3427 in the court2691 of the prison.4307

21 Da befahl6680 der König4428 Zedekia6667, daß man Jeremia3414 im Vorhofe2691 des Gefängnisses4307 behalten6485 sollte, und ließ ihm des Tages3117 ein Laiblein Brot3603 geben5414 aus2351 der Bäckergasse644, bis daß alles Brot3899 in der Stadt5892 auf war8552. Also blieb3427 Jeremia3414 im Vorhofe2691 des Gefängnisses4307.
