5 And it was1961 so, that when834 the children1121 of Ammon5983 made war3898 against5973 Israel,3478 the elders2205 of Gilead1568 went1980 to fetch3947 853 Jephthah3316 out of the land4480 776 of Tob: 2897

5 Da nun die Kinder1121 Ammon5983 also stritten3898 mit Israel3478, gingen3212 die Ältesten2205 von Gilead1568 hin, daß sie3947 Jephthah3316 holeten aus dem Lande776 Tob2897.

6 And they said559 unto Jephthah,3316 Come,1980 and be1961 our captain,7101 that we may fight3898 with the children1121 of Ammon.5983

6 Und sprachen559 zu ihm3316: Komm3212 und sei unser Hauptmann7101, daß wir streiten3898 wider die Kinder1121 Ammon5983!

7 And Jephthah3316 said559 unto the elders2205 of Gilead,1568 Did not3808 ye859 hate8130 me, and expel1644 me out of my father's1 house?4480 1004 and why4069 are ye come935 unto413 me now6258 when834 ye are in distress?6862

7 Aber Jephthah3316 sprach559 zu den Ältesten2205 von Gilead1568: Seid6887 ihr nicht, die mich hassen8130 und aus meines Vaters1 Hause1004 gestoßen habt? Und nun kommt935 ihr zu mir, weil ihr in Trübsal seid?

8 And the elders2205 of Gilead1568 said559 unto413 Jephthah,3316 Therefore3651 we turn again7725 to413 thee now,6258 that thou mayest go1980 with5973 us, and fight3898 against the children1121 of Ammon,5983 and be1961 our head7218 over all3605 the inhabitants3427 of Gilead.1568

8 Die Ältesten2205 von Gilead1568 sprachen559 zu1980 Jephthah3316: Darum kommen wir nun wieder7725 zu dir, daß du mit uns ziehest und helfest uns streiten3898 wider die Kinder1121 Ammon und seiest unser Haupt7218 über alle, die in Gilead1568 wohnen3427.

9 Jephthah3316 sprach559 zu den Ältesten2205 von Gilead1568: So ihr mich6440 wieder7725 holet, zu streiten3898 wider die Kinder1121 Ammon5983, und der HErr3068 sie vor mir geben5414 wird, soll ich dann euer Haupt7218 sein?

10 And the elders2205 of Gilead1568 said559 unto413 Jephthah,3316 The LORD3068 be1961 witness8085 between996 us, if518 we do6213 not3808 so3651 according to thy words.1697

10 Die Ältesten2205 von Gilead1568 sprachen zu Jephthah3316: Der HErr3068 sei Zuhörer zwischen uns, wo wir nicht tun6213, wie du gesagt559 hast8085.

11 Then Jephthah3316 went1980 with5973 the elders2205 of Gilead,1568 and the people5971 made7760 him head7218 and captain7101 over5921 them: and Jephthah3316 uttered1696 853 all3605 his words1697 before6440 the LORD3068 in Mizpeh.4709

12 And Jephthah3316 sent7971 messengers4397 unto413 the king4428 of the children1121 of Ammon,5983 saying,559 What4100 hast thou to do with me, that3588 thou art come935 against413 me to fight3898 in my land?776

13 And the king4428 of the children1121 of Ammon5983 answered559 unto413 the messengers4397 of Jephthah,3316 Because3588 Israel3478 took away3947 853 my land,776 when they came up5927 out of Egypt,4480 4714 from Arnon4480 769 even unto5704 Jabbok,2999 and unto5704 Jordan:3383 now6258 therefore restore those lands again7725 853 peaceably.7965

13 Der König4428 der Kinder1121 Ammon5983 antwortete den Boten4397 Jephthahs3316: Darum daß Israel3478 mein Land776 genommen hat3947, da sie559 aus Ägypten4714 zogen, von Arnon769 an5927 bis an Jabbok2999 und bis an den Jordan3383. So gib mir‘s nun wieder7725 mit Frieden7965!

15 And said559 unto him, Thus3541 saith559 Jephthah,3316 Israel3478 took not away3947 3808 853 the land776 of Moab,4124 nor the land776 of the children1121 of Ammon: 5983

15 Die sprachen559 zu ihm: So spricht559 Jephthah3316: Israel3478 hat3947 kein Land776 genommen, weder den Moabitern4124 noch den Kindern1121 Ammon5983.

16 But3588 when Israel3478 came up5927 from Egypt,4480 4714 and walked1980 through the wilderness4057 unto5704 the Red5488 sea,3220 and came935 to Kadesh;6946

16 Denn da sie aus Ägypten4714 zogen3212, wandelte Israel3478 durch die Wüste4057 bis an5927 das Schilfmeer5488 und kam935 gen Kades6946;

17 Then Israel3478 sent7971 messengers4397 unto413 the king4428 of Edom,123 saying,559 Let me, I pray thee,4994 pass5674 through thy land:776 but the king4428 of Edom123 would not3808 hearken8085 thereto. And in like manner1571 they sent7971 unto413 the king4428 of Moab:4124 but he would14 not3808 consent: and Israel3478 abode3427 in Kadesh.6946

18 Then they went along1980 through the wilderness,4057 and compassed5437 853 the land776 of Edom,123 and the land776 of Moab,4124 and came935 by the east side4480 4217 8121 of the land776 of Moab,4124 and pitched2583 on the other side5676 of Arnon,769 but came935 not3808 within the border1366 of Moab:4124 for3588 Arnon769 was the border1366 of Moab.4124

18 und wandelte in der Wüste4057; und umzogen5437 das776 Land776 der Edomiter123 und Moabiter4124 und kamen935 von der Sonnen Aufgang an der Moabiter4124 Land776 und lagerten sich3212 jenseit5676 des Arnon769; und kamen935 nicht in die Grenze1366 der Moabiter4124, denn Arnon769 ist der Moabiter4124 Grenze1366.

19 And Israel3478 sent7971 messengers4397 unto413 Sihon5511 king4428 of the Amorites,567 the king4428 of Heshbon;2809 and Israel3478 said559 unto him, Let us pass,5674 we pray thee,4994 through thy land776 into5704 my place.4725

19 Und4428 Israel3478 sandte Boten4397 zu Sihon5511, der Amoriter567 König4428 zu Hesbon2809, und ließ7971 ihm3478 sagen559: Laß uns durch5674 dein Land776 ziehen bis5704 an meinen Ort4725.

20 But Sihon5511 trusted539 not3808 853 Israel3478 to pass5674 through his coast:1366 but Sihon5511 gathered all his people together,622 853 3605 5971 and pitched2583 in Jahaz,3096 and fought3898 against5973 Israel.3478

20 Aber Sihon5511 vertrauete Israel3478 nicht, durch5674 seine Grenze1366 zu ziehen, sondern versammelte622 all sein539 Volk5971 und lagerte sich622 zu Jahza3096 und stritt3898 mit Israel3478.

|
21 And the LORD3068 God430 of Israel3478 delivered5414 853 Sihon5511 and all3605 his people5971 into the hand3027 of Israel,3478 and they smote5221 them: so Israel3478 possessed3423 853 all3605 the land776 of the Amorites,567 the inhabitants3427 of that1931 country.776

21 Der HErr3068 aber, der GOtt430 Israels3478, gab5414 den Sihon5511 mit all seinem Volk5971 in die Hände3027 Israels3478, daß sie3427 sie schlugen5221. Also nahm3423 Israel3478 ein alles Land776 der Amoriter567, die in demselben Lande776 wohneten,

22 And they possessed3423 853 all3605 the coasts1366 of the Amorites,567 from Arnon4480 769 even unto5704 Jabbok,2999 and from4480 the wilderness4057 even unto5704 Jordan.3383

22 und nahmen3423 alle Grenze1366 der Amoriter567 ein von Arnon769 an bis an Jabbok2999 und von der Wüste4057 an bis an den Jordan3383.

|
23 So now6258 the LORD3068 God430 of Israel3478 hath dispossessed3423 853 the Amorites567 from before4480 6440 his people5971 Israel,3478 and shouldest thou859 possess3423 it?
|
23 So hat nun der HErr3068, der GOtt430 Israels3478 die Amoriter567 vertrieben3423 vor6440 seinem Volk5971 Israel3478; und du willst sie einnehmen3423?
|
|
24 Wilt not3808 thou possess3423 853 that which834 Chemosh3645 thy god430 giveth thee to possess?3423 So whomsoever3605 834 the LORD3068 our God430 shall drive out3423 from before4480 6440 us, them will we possess.3423
|
24 Du solltest die einnehmen3423, die dein GOtt430 Kamos3645 vertriebe3423, und uns lassen einnehmen3423 alle, die der HErr3068, unser GOtt430, vor6440 uns vertrieben3423 hat.

25 And now6258 art thou859 any thing better2896 2896 than Balak4480 1111 the son1121 of Zippor,6834 king4428 of Moab?4124 did he ever strive7378 7378 against5973 Israel,3478 or518 did he ever fight3898 3898 against them,

25 Meinest du, daß du besser2896 Recht habest denn Balak1111, der Sohn1121 Zipors, der Moabiter4124 König4428? Hat7378 derselbe auch je7378 gerechtet oder gestritten3898 wider3898 Israel3478,

|
26 While Israel3478 dwelt3427 in Heshbon2809 and her towns,1323 and in Aroer6177 and her towns,1323 and in all3605 the cities5892 that834 be along by5921 the coasts3027 of Arnon,769 three7969 hundred3967 years?8141 why4069 therefore did ye not3808 recover5337 them within that1931 time?6256

26 obwohl Israel3478 nun dreihundert7969 Jahre8141 gewohnet hat in Hesbon2809 und3967 ihren Töchtern1323, in Aroer6177 und ihren Töchtern1323 und allen Städten5892, die3027 am Arnon liegen? Warum errettetet ihr‘s3427 nicht5337 zu derselben Zeit6256?

27 Wherefore I595 have not3808 sinned2398 against thee, but thou859 doest6213 me wrong7451 to war3898 against me: the LORD3068 the Judge8199 be judge8199 this day3117 between996 the children1121 of Israel3478 and the children1121 of Ammon.5983

27 Ich habe2398 nichts an dir gesündiget; und853 du tust6213 so8199 übel7451 an mir, daß du wider mich streitest3898. Der HErr3068 fälle heute3117 ein Urteil zwischen Israel3478 und1121 den Kindern1121 Ammon5983.

|
28 Howbeit the king4428 of the children1121 of Ammon5983 hearkened8085 not3808 unto413 the words1697 of Jephthah3316 which834 he sent7971 413 him.
|
28 Aber der König4428 der Kinder1121 Ammon5983 erhörete die Rede1697 Jephthahs nicht, die er3316 zu8085 ihm sandte7971.
|
|
29 Then the Spirit7307 of the LORD3068 came1961 upon5921 Jephthah,3316 and he passed over5674 853 Gilead,1568 and Manasseh,4519 and passed over5674 853 Mizpeh4708 of Gilead,1568 and from Mizpeh4480 4708 of Gilead1568 he passed over5674 unto the children1121 of Ammon.5983

29 Da kam der Geist7307 des HErrn3068 auf Jephthah3316; und zog5674 durch Gilead1568 und Manasse4519 und durch Mizpe4708, das in5674 Gilead1568 liegt, und von Mizpe4708, das in5674 Gilead1568 liegt, auf die Kinder1121 Ammon.

30 And Jephthah3316 vowed5087 a vow5088 unto the LORD,3068 and said,559 If518 thou shalt without fail deliver5414 5414 853 the children1121 of Ammon5983 into mine hands,3027

30 Und5414 Jephthah3316 gelobte5087 dem HErrn3068 ein Gelübde5088 und5414 sprach559: Gibst du die Kinder1121 Ammon in meine Hand3027,

31 Then it shall be,1961 that whatsoever834 cometh forth3318 of the doors4480 1817 of my house1004 to meet7125 me, when I return7725 in peace7965 from the children4480 1121 of Ammon,5983 shall surely be1961 the LORD's,3068 and I will offer it up5927 for a burnt offering.5930

31 was zu meiner Haustür1817 heraus3318 mir entgegengehet, wenn ich mit Frieden7965 wiederkomme von3318 den Kindern1121 Ammon5983, das soll des HErrn3068 sein, und1004 will‘s7725 zum Brandopfer5930 opfern5927.

32 So Jephthah3316 passed over5674 unto413 the children1121 of Ammon5983 to fight3898 against them; and the LORD3068 delivered5414 them into his hands.3027

32 Also zog5674 Jephthah3316 auf die Kinder1121 Ammon, wider sie zu streiten3898. Und der HErr3068 gab5414 sie in seine Hände3027.
|
|
33 And he smote5221 them from Aroer,4480 6177 even till5704 thou come935 to Minnith,4511 even twenty6242 cities,5892 and unto5704 the plain58 of the vineyards,3754 with a very3966 great1419 slaughter.4347 Thus the children1121 of Ammon5983 were subdued3665 before4480 6440 the children1121 of Israel.3478

33 Und er schlug5221 sie3665 von Aroer6177 an, bis man kommt935 gen Minnit, zwanzig6242 Städte5892, und bis an den Plan der Weinberge58, eine sehr3966 große1419 Schlacht4347. Und wurden also die Kinder1121 Ammon5983 gedemütiget vor6440 den Kindern1121 Israel3478.

34 And Jephthah3316 came935 to Mizpeh4709 unto413 his house,1004 and, behold,2009 his daughter1323 came out3318 to meet7125 him with timbrels8596 and with dances:4246 and she1931 was his only child;3173 beside4480 her he had neither369 son1121 nor176 daughter.1323

34 Da nun Jephthah3316 kam935 gen Mizpa4709 zu seinem Hause1004, siehe, da gehet seine Tochter1323 heraus3318 ihm entgegen7125 mit Pauken8596 und Reigen4246; und sie war ein einiges Kind, und er hatte sonst keinen Sohn1121 noch176 Tochter1323.

35 And it came to pass,1961 when he saw7200 her, that he rent7167 853 his clothes,899 and said,559 Alas,162 my daughter!1323 thou hast brought me very low,3766 3766 and thou859 art1961 one of them that trouble5916 me: for I595 have opened6475 my mouth6310 unto413 the LORD,3068 and I cannot3808 3201 go back.7725

35 Und da er sie sah7200, zerriß7167 er seine Kleider899 und sprach559: Ach162, meine Tochter1323, wie beugest du mich5916 und betrübest mich! Denn ich habe meinen Mund6310 aufgetan6475 gegen dem HErrn3068 und kann‘s3201 nicht widerrufen7725.

36 And she said559 unto413 him, My father,1 if thou hast opened6475 853 thy mouth6310 unto413 the LORD,3068 do6213 to me according to that which834 hath proceeded out3318 of thy mouth;4480 6310 forasmuch310 834 as the LORD3068 hath taken6213 vengeance5360 for thee of thine enemies,4480 341 even of the children4480 1121 of Ammon.5983

36 Sie aber sprach559: Mein Vater1, hast du deinen Mund aufgetan6475 gegen dem HErrn3068, so tue6213 mir310, wie834 es aus3318 deinem Munde6310 gegangen ist6213, nachdem6310 der HErr3068 dich5360 gerochen hat an deinen Feinden341, den Kindern1121 Ammon5983.

37 And she said559 unto413 her father,1 Let this2088 thing1697 be done6213 for me: let me alone7503 4480 two8147 months,2320 that I may go up1980 and down3381 upon5921 the mountains,2022 and bewail1058 5921 my virginity,1331 I595 and my fellows.7464

37 Und sie8147 sprach559 zu ihrem Vater1: Du wollest mir das1697 tun6213, daß du mich lassest zween Monden2320, daß ich von hinnen7503 hinabgehe3212 auf die3381 Berge2022 und meine Jungfrauschaft1331 beweine1058 mit meinen Gespielen7464.

38 And he said,559 Go.1980 And he sent her away7971 853 for two8147 months:2320 and she1931 went1980 with her companions,7464 and bewailed1058 5921 her virginity1331 upon5921 the mountains.2022

38 Er sprach559: Gehe3212 hin! Und ließ7971 sie8147 zween Monden2320 gehen3212. Da ging sie1058 hin mit ihren Gespielen7464 und beweinete ihre Jungfrauschaft1331 auf den Bergen2022.

39 And it came to pass1961 at the end4480 7093 of two8147 months,2320 that she returned7725 unto413 her father,1 who did6213 with her according to853 his vow5088 which834 he had vowed:5087 and she1931 knew3045 no3808 man.376 And it was1961 a custom2706 in Israel,3478

39 Und nach7093 zween Monden2320 kam sie8147 wieder7725 zu ihrem Vater1. Und er376 tat5087 ihr3045, wie5088 er gelobet hatte6213; und sie war nie keines Mannes schuldig worden. Und ward eine Gewohnheit2706 in Israel3478,

40 That the daughters1323 of Israel3478 went1980 yearly4480 3117 3117 to lament8567 the daughter1323 of Jephthah3316 the Gileadite1569 four702 days3117 in a year.8141

40 daß die Töchter1323 Israel3478 jährlich8141 hingehen3212, zu klagen8567 die Tochter1323 Jephthahs3316, des Gileaditers1569, des Jahrs vier702 Tage.
