Chapter 25

1 If3588 there be1961 a controversy7379 between996 men,376 and they come5066 unto413 judgment,4941 that the judges may judge8199 them; then they shall justify6663 853 the righteous,6662 and condemn7561 853 the wicked.7563

2 And it shall be,1961 if518 the wicked7563 man be worthy to be beaten,1121 5221 that the judge8199 shall cause him to lie down,5307 and to be beaten5221 before his face,6440 according to1767 his fault,7564 by a certain number.4557

3 Forty705 stripes he may give5221 him, and not3808 exceed:3254 lest,6435 if he should exceed,3254 and beat5221 him above5921 these428 with many7227 stripes,4347 then thy brother251 should seem vile7034 unto5869 thee.

4 Thou shalt not3808 muzzle2629 the ox7794 when he treadeth out1758 the corn.

5 If3588 brethren251 dwell3427 together,3162 and one259 of4480 them die,4191 and have no369 child,1121 the wife802 of the dead4191 shall not3808 marry1961 without2351 unto a stranger:376 2114 her husband's brother2993 shall go in935 unto5921 her, and take3947 her to him to wife,802 and perform the duty of a husband's brother2992 unto her.

6 And it shall be,1961 that the firstborn1060 which834 she beareth3205 shall succeed6965 in5921 the name8034 of his brother251 which is dead,4191 that his name8034 be not3808 put out4229 of Israel.4480 3478

7 And if518 the man376 like2654 not3808 to take3947 853 his brother's wife,2994 then let his brother's wife2994 go up5927 to the gate8179 unto413 the elders,2205 and say,559 My husband's brother2993 refuseth3985 to raise up6965 unto his brother251 a name8034 in Israel,3478 he will14 not3808 perform the duty of my husband's brother.2992

8 Then the elders2205 of his city5892 shall call7121 him, and speak1696 unto413 him: and if he stand5975 to it, and say,559 I like2654 not3808 to take3947 her;

9 Then shall his brother's wife2994 come5066 unto413 him in the presence5869 of the elders,2205 and loose2502 his shoe5275 from off4480 5921 his foot,7272 and spit3417 in his face,6440 and shall answer6030 and say,559 So3602 shall it be done6213 unto that man376 that834 will not3808 build up1129 853 his brother's251 house.1004

10 And his name8034 shall be called7121 in Israel,3478 The house1004 of him that hath his shoe5275 loosed.2502

11 When3588 men376 strive5327 together3162 one376 with another,251 and the wife802 of the one259 draweth near7126 for to deliver5337 853 her husband376 out of the hand4480 3027 of him that smiteth5221 him, and putteth forth7971 her hand,3027 and taketh2388 him by the secrets: 4016

12 Then thou shalt cut off7112 853 her hand,3709 thine eye5869 shall not3808 pity2347 her.

13 Thou shalt not3808 have1961 in thy bag3599 divers weights,68 68 a great1419 and a small.6996

14 Thou shalt not3808 have1961 in thine house1004 divers measures,374 374 a great1419 and a small.6996

15 But thou shalt have1961 a perfect8003 and just6664 weight,68 a perfect8003 and just6664 measure374 shalt thou have:1961 that4616 thy days3117 may be lengthened748 in5921 the land127 which834 the LORD3068 thy God430 giveth5414 thee.

16 For3588 all3605 that do6213 such things,428 and all3605 that do6213 unrighteously,5766 are an abomination8441 unto the LORD3068 thy God.430

17 Remember2142 853 what834 Amalek6002 did6213 unto thee by the way,1870 when ye were come forth3318 out of Egypt;4480 4714

18 How834 he met7136 thee by the way,1870 and smote the hindmost2179 of thee, even all3605 that were feeble2826 behind310 thee, when thou859 wast faint5889 and weary;3023 and he feared3372 not3808 God.430

19 Therefore it shall be,1961 when the LORD3068 thy God430 hath given thee rest5117 from all4480 3605 thine enemies341 round about,4480 5439 in the land776 which834 the LORD3068 thy God430 giveth5414 thee for an inheritance5159 to possess3423 it, that thou shalt blot out4229 853 the remembrance2143 of Amalek6002 from under4480 8478 heaven;8064 thou shalt not3808 forget7911 it.

1 Положим, два человека обращаются в суд со своей тяжбой, и одного из них там признают правым, а другого виновным.

2 Если виновный подлежит телесному наказанию, его по распоряжению судьи и на глазах у того кладут вниз лицом и дают ему столько ударов, сколько заслуживает его преступление.

3 До сорока ударов ему могут присудить, но не более, чтобы из-за большего числа ударов, нанесенных твоему брату, израильтянину, он не оказался унижен пред всеми.

4 Не завязывай рта волу, когда он молотит зерно.

5 Когда братья живут вместе на одном и том же земельном участке и один из них умирает, не оставив после себя наследника, то его вдова не может выйти замуж на стороне, за чужого человека. Брат покойного мужа ее должен пойти к ней, взять ее в жены и выполнить по отношению к ней обязанности деверя.

6 Однако первенец, которого она родит в этом браке, продолжит род умершего брата, чтобы имя его не исчезло бесследно в Израиле.

7 Если же брат покойного не захочет взять невестку в жены, пусть она пойдет к городским воротам и скажет старейшинам города: „Деверь мой отказывается продолжить род брата своего в Израиле, не хочет жениться на мне“.

8 Тогда старейшины того города должны будут позвать его и поговорить с ним. Если же он заупрямится и будет стоять на своем: не хочу, мол, брать ее,

9 пусть невестка подойдет к нему и на виду у старейшин снимет с ноги его сандалию, плюнет ему в лицо и скажет: „Вот так воздают тому, кто отказывается созидать семью брату своему“.

10 И род такого человека будет называться в Израиле „родом разутого“.

11 Если во время драки двух мужчин жена одного из них, пытаясь помочь своему мужу, схватит напавшего на него за причинное место,

12 следует отрубить ей руку — не жалейте ее.

13 Не носи в суме своей двух разных мер, гирь больших и малых.

14 Также и в доме твоем не должно быть двух разных эф, большей и малой.

15 Гиря у тебя должна быть всегда безупречно точного веса, и эфа ваша должна быть верного, точного размера; и тогда будешь наслаждаться долгою жизнью на земле, которую дарует тебе ГОСПОДЬ, Бог твой.

16 Всякий, кто это делает, кто допускает нечестность, мерзок ГОСПОДУ, Богу твоему.

17 Помните, как поступили с вами амалекитяне, когда шли вы из Египта,

18 как они напали на вас в пути, — на тех, что шли позади всех, слабых и измученных, и не побоялись они Бога!

19 Потому вы, когда ГОСПОДЬ, Бог ваш, даст вам покой, защитив со всех сторон от всех врагов ваших, в той земле, которую ГОСПОДЬ, Бог ваш, дарует вам в наследство, сделайте так, чтобы нигде под небесами и памяти об амалекитянах не осталось. Не забудьте!

1 Положим, два человека обращаются в суд со своей тяжбой, и одного из них там признают правым, а другого виновным.

2 Если виновный подлежит телесному наказанию, его по распоряжению судьи и на глазах у того кладут вниз лицом и дают ему столько ударов, сколько заслуживает его преступление.

5 Когда братья живут вместе на одном и том же земельном участке и один из них умирает, не оставив после себя наследника, то его вдова не может выйти замуж на стороне, за чужого человека. Брат покойного мужа ее должен пойти к ней, взять ее в жены и выполнить по отношению к ней обязанности деверя.

9 пусть невестка подойдет к нему и на виду у старейшин снимет с ноги его сандалию, плюнет ему в лицо и скажет: „Вот так воздают тому, кто отказывается созидать семью брату своему“.

10 И род такого человека будет называться в Израиле „родом разутого“.

12 следует отрубить ей руку — не жалейте ее.

13 Не носи в суме своей двух разных мер, гирь больших и малых.

14 Thou shalt not3808 have1961 in thine house1004 divers measures,374 374 a great1419 and a small.6996

14 Также и в доме твоем не должно быть двух разных эф, большей и малой.

15 But thou shalt have1961 a perfect8003 and just6664 weight,68 a perfect8003 and just6664 measure374 shalt thou have:1961 that4616 thy days3117 may be lengthened748 in5921 the land127 which834 the LORD3068 thy God430 giveth5414 thee.

15 Гиря у тебя должна быть всегда безупречно точного веса, и эфа ваша должна быть верного, точного размера; и тогда будешь наслаждаться долгою жизнью на земле, которую дарует тебе ГОСПОДЬ, Бог твой.

16 For3588 all3605 that do6213 such things,428 and all3605 that do6213 unrighteously,5766 are an abomination8441 unto the LORD3068 thy God.430

16 Всякий, кто это делает, кто допускает нечестность, мерзок ГОСПОДУ, Богу твоему.

17 Помните, как поступили с вами амалекитяне, когда шли вы из Египта,

19 Потому вы, когда ГОСПОДЬ, Бог ваш, даст вам покой, защитив со всех сторон от всех врагов ваших, в той земле, которую ГОСПОДЬ, Бог ваш, дарует вам в наследство, сделайте так, чтобы нигде под небесами и памяти об амалекитянах не осталось. Не забудьте!
