1 Moreover3254 Job347 continued5375 his parable,4912 and said,559

2 Oh that4310 I were5414 as in months3391 past,6924 as in the days3117 when God433 preserved8104 me;

3 When his candle5216 shined1984 upon5921 my head,7218 and when by his light216 I walked1980 through darkness;2822

4 As834 I was1961 in the days3117 of my youth,2779 when the secret5475 of God433 was upon5921 my tabernacle;168

5 When the Almighty7706 was yet5750 with5978 me, when my children5288 were about5439 me;

6 When I washed7364 my steps1978 with butter,2529 and the rock6697 poured me out6694 5978 rivers6388 of oil;8081

7 When I went out3318 to the gate8179 through5921 the city,7176 when I prepared3559 my seat4186 in the street!7339

8 The young men5288 saw7200 me, and hid themselves:2244 and the aged3453 arose,6965 and stood up.5975

9 The princes8269 refrained6113 talking,4405 and laid7760 their hand3709 on their mouth.6310

12 Because3588 I delivered4422 the poor6041 that cried,7768 and the fatherless,3490 and him that had none3808 to help5826 him.

13 The blessing1293 of him that was ready to perish6 came935 upon5921 me: and I caused the widow's490 heart3820 to sing for joy.7442

14 I put on3847 righteousness,6664 and it clothed3847 me: my judgment4941 was as a robe4598 and a diadem.6797

15 I was1961 eyes5869 to the blind,5787 and feet7272 was I589 to the lame.6455

1 И продолжил Иов свое слово и сказал:

2 «О если б мне стать таким, как прежде, как в те дни, когда Бог хранил меня,

3 когда горел светильник Его над моей головой и я при свете его шел сквозь тьму.

4 Таким, каким я был в дни юности моей, когда был близок Бог к моему шатру,

5 пока был еще со мною Всесильный, а вокруг меня — мои дети;

6 когда мне под ноги лились сливки, а скалы источали потоки масла.

7 Когда выходил я к городским воротам, чтобы занять свое место на площади,

8 юноши, завидев меня, сторонились, старцы, поднявшись, стояли.

9 Знатные умолкали на полуслове, рот рукой прикрывали.

10 Вожди говорить не смели, язык у них прилипал к нёбу.

11 Всякий, кто слышал меня, восхвалял, всякий, кто видел меня, прославлял,

12 потому что я спасал бедняка, звавшего на помощь, сироту, которого некому защитить.

13 Спасенный от гибели благословлял меня, сердцу вдовы я приносил радость.

14 В праведность я облачался, как в одеянье, и справедливость была мне плащом и тюрбаном.

15 Слепому я был глазами, хромому — ногами.

16 Нищему я был вместо отца, в чужую тяжбу вникал.

17 Челюсти я сокрушал нечестивцу, из его зубов вырывал добычу.

18 Думал я: „В своем родовом гнезде скончаюсь, дней моих будет так много, как песка.

19 Достигают воды мои корни, роса ночует на ветвях моих,

20 слава моя не увядает, лук в руке моей всегда как новый“.

21 Внимали мне люди и ждали в молчании моего совета.

22 После слов моих добавить им было нечего, речь моя утоляла их жажду.

23 Как дождя, меня они ждали, ртом ловили слова мои, как весенний ливень.

24 Когда улыбался я, они не смели верить и не отвергали благосклонности моей.

25 Я избирал для них путь и был главою, восседал, словно царь среди войска, утешавший плачущих.
