5 Кто пренебрегает наставлениями отца своего — глуп, внимающий же обличениям — благоразумен.

6 В доме честного — великое богатство, а нечестивцу от всякого достатка — только ущерб.

7 Уста мудрых сеют знание, а сердце глупых бесплодно.

8 Жертва нечестивцев отвратительна ГОСПОДУ, а молитвы честных Ему угодны.

9 Мерзок для ГОСПОДА путь нечестивца, а тех, кто стремится к праведности, Он любит.

10 Уклоняющегося с пути постигнет суровое наказание, и кто ненавидит обличение — погибнет.

11 Если Шеол и Аваддон не сокрыты от ГОСПОДА, тем более — сердца человеческие.

12 Бесстыдный человек не любит обличений, к мудрым он не пойдет.

13 Радостью сердца лицо сияет, а скорбное сердце сокрушает дух.

14 Сердце разумное ищет знания, а уста глупцов вздором кормятся.

15 У несчастного все дни горя полны, а для радостного сердца — всякий день праздник.

16 Лучше скромный достаток, да боязнь ГОСПОДА огорчить, чем при большом состоянии не знать покоя.

17 Лучше обед из овощей, да с любовью, чем откормленный телец, да с ненавистью.

18 Вспыльчивый человек сеет вражду, а негневливый — погасит ссору.

19 Тропа ленивого сорняками и колючками поросла, а путь праведных — торная дорога.

20 Мудрый сын радует отца, а глупый и мать свою презирает.

21 Глупость забавляет человека недалекого, а здравомыслящий идет по пути прямому.

22 Без разумного совета не осуществится задуманное, а кто ищет совета у многих, у того будет успех.

23 В радость человеку удачный ответ, и уместное слово всегда кстати!

24 Путь мудрого человека вверх устремлен, дабы избегнуть глубин Шеола.

25 Дом гордеца ГОСПОДЬ разрушит, а межу вдовы защитит.

26 Мерзость для ГОСПОДА — замыслы злодеев, а добрые слова чисты и искренни.

27 Алчный до наживы погубит свой дом, а кому ненавистны взятки — будет жить.

28 Сердце праведника обдумывает ответ, а уста нечестивцев извергают зло.

29 Удаляется ГОСПОДЬ от нечестивцев, а молитвы праведников Он слышит.

30 Сияющий взгляд радует сердце, добрая весть укрепляет тело.

31 Кто внимает живительному обличению, тот окажется среди мудрецов.

32 Кто не слушает обличений — пренебрегает собственной жизнью, кто внимает наставлениям — обретет разум.

33 Благоговение пред ГОСПОДОМ — вот чему учит мудрость, а смирение предшествует славе.
