2 Господи, мы ждали помощи Твоей, будь с нами добр, каждое утро дай нам сил, спаси от несчастий нас.
3 Могучий голос Твой людей пугает, и поэтому они убегают от Тебя. Твоё величие заставляет от Тебя бежать народы.
4 Всё, что вы добыли на войне, будет у вас отнято, придут другие и заберут вашу добычу, как приходит саранча и поедает весь урожай.
5 Велик Господь, обитающий на всех высотах, Он наполняет Сион Своей справедливостью и добротой.
6 Иерусалим богат мудростью и знанием Бога. Спасение — твоё сокровище, ты почитаешь Господа, дающего тебе богатства, и можешь полагаться на Него.
7 Но послушай, как кричат на улицах глашатаи, как горько рыдают посланцы мира!
8 Дороги пустынны, никто не ходит по улицам, люди нарушили соглашения свои. Они отказываются верить свидетелям, и никто никого не уважает.
9 Земля больна и умирает, умирает Ливан, и долина Сарон суха и пустынна. В Васане и Кармеле больше не растут прекрасные растения.
10 Господь говорит: «Теперь Я восстану и явлю Моё величие и силу!
11 Вы, люди, творите никчёмные дела, они словно сено и солома, которые ничего не стоят. Ваше дыхание станет огнём, который вас сожжёт.
12 Люди сгорят быстро, подобно кустам и колючкам, и будут гореть до тех пор, пока их кости не превратятся в известь.
13 Люди в далёких странах слышат о Моих делах. Вы, люди ближние, познайте силу Мою».
14 Грешники на Сионе в испуге, нечестивые дрожат от страха, говоря: «Может ли кто-нибудь из нас выжить в этом уничтожающем огне,
15 Добрые и честные люди, которые неспособны за деньги причинять боль ближнему, выживут в этом огне. Они отказываются от взяток, закрывают уши, чтобы не слышать о заговорах, несущих смерть, закрывают глаза, чтобы не видеть зла.
16 Они будут жить на высоких холмах, под защитой высоких крепостей, и у них всегда будет хлеб и вода.
17 Ваши глаза увидят Царя во всей Его красоте, вы увидите великую землю.
18 Вы будете вспоминать минувшие беды и думать: «Где люди из чужих стран, говорившие на незнакомых языках? Где переписчики и сборщики податей из других земель, где лазутчики, считавшие наши крепкие башни?» Все они исчезли!

20 Взгляни на Сион, город наших священных праздников, взгляни на Иерусалим, этот прекрасный город, дающий людям отдых. Он словно шатёр непоколебимый: столпы его никогда не рухнут, верёвки никогда не порвутся.
21 Ведь Господь Всемогущий, наш могучий Правитель, находится в том городе. В той земле широкие реки, но никогда не будет на них вражеских кораблей. Вы, матросы, плывущие на этих кораблях, не сможете закрепить верёвки, ваши мачты будут недостаточно крепки, а ваши паруса полностью не распустятся, потому что наш Судья — Господь. Он — наш Законодатель, наш Царь и Спаситель, Он богатства нам даёт, и даже хромые получат свою долю.
