Psalm 139

1 O LORD, thou hast searched me and known me.

2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thoughts from above.

3 Thou knowest my way and my paths, and art acquainted with all my ways.

4 For if there is deception in my tongue, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.

5 From the beginning to the end, thou knowest me, O LORD, for thou hast formed and laid thy hand upon me.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

7 Whither shall I go from thy Spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

8 If I ascend into heaven, thou art there; if I descend into Sheol, behold, thou art there also.

9 If I lift up my wings like those of an eagle, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,

10 Even there also shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall be as light upon me; even the night shall be light before my face.

12 The darkness shall not be dark to thee; but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

13 For thou hast made my heart; thou hast accepted me from my mother's womb.

14 I will praise thee, because of the wonders which thou hast done; marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knows right well.

15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and marvellously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being imperfect; and upon thy en_lbp_books all these things were written, even before day was and man was brought into existence.

17 How precious also are thy mercies to me, O God! How great is the sum of them?

18 If I should count the best of them, they are more in number than the grains of sand; when I awake I am still with thee.

19 Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God; depart from me therefore, you bloody men.

20 For they speak against thee, and have taken thy city without cause.

21 I hate them, O LORD, who hate thee; and I am grieved with those who rise up against thee.

22 I hate them with perfect hatred; I count them mine enemies.

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my ways,

24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

1 To the chief5329 Musician,5329 A Psalm4210 of David.1732 O lord,3068 you have searched2713 me, and known3045 me.

2 You know3045 my sitting down3427 and my rising up,6965 you understand995 my thought7454 afar7350 off.

3 You compass2219 my path734 and my lying7252 down,7252 and are acquainted5532 with all3605 my ways.1870

4 For there is not a word4405 in my tongue,3956 but, see,2005 O LORD,3068 you know3045 it altogether.3605

8 If518 I ascend5927 up into heaven,8064 you are there:8033 if I make3331 my bed3331 in hell,7585 behold,2009 you are there.

9 If I take5375 the wings3671 of the morning,7837 and dwell7931 in the uttermost319 parts of the sea;3220

19 Surely518 you will slay6991 the wicked,7563 O God:433 depart5493 from me therefore, you bloody1818 men.582

20 For they speak559 against you wickedly,4209 and your enemies6145 take5375 your name in vain.7723

21 Do not I hate8130 them, O LORD,3068 that hate8130 you? and am not I grieved6962 with those that rise8618 up against you?
