Ezekiel

Chapter 14

1 THEN came certain of the elders of Israel to me to inquire of the LORD, and sat before me.

2 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

3 Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumbling block of their iniquity before their faces; I will seek vengeance from them.

4 Therefore speak to them and say to them, Thus says the LORD God: Every man of the house of Israel who sets up his idols in his heart and puts the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face and comes to the prophet, I the LORD will be a witness against him because of the multitude of his idols,

5 That I may take the house of Israel in the imagination of their own hearts, because they have departed from me through all their idols.

6 Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the LORD God: Repent, and turn away from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.

7 For every one of the house of Israel, or of the proselytes who dwell in Israel, who departs from me and sets up idols in his heart and puts the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face and comes to a prophet to inquire of him, I the LORD will be a witness against him;

8 And I will pour out my anger against that man, and I will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will destroy him from the midst of my people; and you shall know that I am the LORD.

9 And when a prophet shall err and speak a word, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand against him, and I will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.

10 And they shall both bear the punishment of their iniquity; the punishment of him who seeks to inquire shall be like the punishment of the prophet,

11 That the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither be polluted any more with all their transgressions; but that they may be my people and I may be their God, says the LORD God.

12 The word of the LORD came to me, saying,

13 Son of man, if a land should sin against me and commit iniquity before me, then I will stretch out my hand against it, and will break the staff of its wheat; and I will send famine upon it, and will destroy man and beast from it;

14 Though these three men, Noah, Daniel and Job were in the land, they would deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, says the LORD God.

15 And if I should send vicious beasts against the land, and they destroy it so that it become desolate, so that no man could pass through because of the wild beasts;

16 Though these three men were in it, as I live, says the LORD God, they would deliver neither sons nor daughters; but they alone would be delivered and the land would be made desolate.

17 Or if I should bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through that land, and I destroy man and beast from it;

18 Though these three men were in it, as I live, says the LORD God, they would deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they alone would be delivered.

19 Or if I should send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, and destroy from it man and beast;

20 Though Noah, Daniel and Job were in it, as I live, says the LORD God, they would deliver neither son nor daughter; but they would only deliver themselves by their righteousness.

21 For thus says the LORD God: How much more when I send four sore judgments upon Jerusalem: the sword and famine and vicious beasts and pestilence, to destroy from it man and beast.

22 Yet there shall be left in it those who will be delivered, who will bring forth sons and daughters; and even they shall come forth to you, and you shall see their ways and their doings; and you shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought upon it.

23 And they shall comfort you when you see their ways and their doings; and you shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, says the LORD God.

1 Некоторые из старейшин Исраила пришли ко мне и сели передо мной.

2 И было ко мне слово Вечного:

3 – Смертный, эти люди воздвигли идолов у себя в сердце и положили пред собой свой грех, как преграду, о которую спотыкаются. Следует ли Мне вообще позволять им спрашивать Меня?

4 Говори же с ними и скажи им: Так говорит Владыка Вечный: «Когда кто-либо из исраильтян воздвигает у себя в сердце идолов и кладёт перед собой свой грех, словно преграду, о которую спотыкается, и потом всё же идёт к пророку, то Я, Вечный, Сам отвечу ему так, как заслуживает его вопиющее идолопоклонство,

5 чтобы вернуть к Себе сердца исраильтян, которые оставили Меня ради идолов».

6 Поэтому скажи народу Исраила: Так говорит Владыка Вечный: «Покайтесь! Отвернитесь от идолов и оставьте свои омерзительные обычаи!

7 Если кто-либо из исраильтян или живущих в Исраиле чужеземцев отвернётся от Меня, воздвигнет у себя в сердце идолов и положит перед собой свой грех, как преграду, о которую спотыкается, но потом всё же пойдёт к пророку, чтобы спросить Меня через него, то Я, Вечный, Сам отвечу ему.

8 Я обращу лицо Моё против этого человека и сделаю его уроком и притчей на устах. Я изгоню его из Моего народа. Тогда вы узнаете, что Я – Вечный.

9 Если же пророк в заблуждении произносит пророчество, то это потому, что Я, Вечный, ввёл его в заблуждение, и Я подниму на него руку и изгоню его из Моего народа, Исраила.

10 Они понесут свою кару – кара вопрошающего и кара пророка будет равной,

11 чтобы исраильтяне впредь не уклонялись от Меня и больше не оскверняли себя своими грехами. Тогда они будут Моим народом, а Я буду их Богом», – возвещает Владыка Вечный.

12 Было ко мне слово Вечного:

13 – Смертный, если страна согрешит против Меня отступничеством, то Я подниму на неё руку, чтобы уничтожить запасы пищи в ней, наслать на неё голод и погубить в ней людей и скот.

14 Даже если бы Нух, . Даниял и Аюб, эти трое, были в ней, то они спасли бы своей праведностью только свои жизни, – возвещает Владыка Вечный. –

15 Или если бы Я наслал на эту страну диких зверей для её опустошения, чтобы она пришла в такое запустение, что никто не смог бы пройти по ней из-за зверей,

16 то верно, как и то, что Я живу, – возвещает Владыка Вечный, – что если бы эти трое были в ней, они не смогли бы спасти ни своих сыновей, ни своих дочерей. Они спаслись бы сами, но страна была бы опустошена.

17 Или если бы Я послал на эту страну меч, сказав: «Пусть меч пройдёт по стране и погубит в ней людей и скот»,

18 то верно, как и то, что Я живу, – возвещает Владыка Вечный, – даже если бы эти трое были в ней, они не смогли бы спасти ни своих сыновей, ни своих дочерей, а спаслись бы лишь сами.

19 Или если бы Я наслал на эту страну мор и излил бы гнев на неё в кровопролитии, губя людей и скот,

20 то верно, как и то, что Я живу, – возвещает Владыка Вечный, – даже если бы Нух, Даниял и Аюб были в ней, они не смогли бы спасти ни своих сыновей, ни своих дочерей, а спаслись бы лишь сами благодаря своей праведности.

21 Так говорит Владыка Вечный: – Как же страшно будет, когда Я пошлю на Иерусалим четыре страшных казни: меч, голод, диких зверей и мор, чтобы погубить там людей и скот!

22 Но в нём останутся и уцелевшие, их сыновья и дочери, которых выведут из него. Они придут к вам, и, увидев их поступки и дела, вы утешитесь о бедствии, которое Я наслал на Иерусалим, о всяком бедствии, которое Я наслал на него.

23 Вы утешитесь, увидев их поступки и дела, потому что вы узнаете, что Я ничего не делал в нём без причины, – возвещает Владыка Вечный.

1 THEN came certain of the elders of Israel to me to inquire of the LORD, and sat before me.

2 And the word of the LORD came to me, saying,

3 Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumbling block of their iniquity before their faces; I will seek vengeance from them.

3 – Смертный, эти люди воздвигли идолов у себя в сердце и положили пред собой свой грех, как преграду, о которую спотыкаются. Следует ли Мне вообще позволять им спрашивать Меня?

4 Therefore speak to them and say to them, Thus says the LORD God: Every man of the house of Israel who sets up his idols in his heart and puts the stumbling block of his iniquity before his face and comes to the prophet, I the LORD will be a witness against him because of the multitude of his idols,

4 Говори же с ними и скажи им: Так говорит Владыка Вечный: «Когда кто-либо из исраильтян воздвигает у себя в сердце идолов и кладёт перед собой свой грех, словно преграду, о которую спотыкается, и потом всё же идёт к пророку, то Я, Вечный, Сам отвечу ему так, как заслуживает его вопиющее идолопоклонство,

5 That I may take the house of Israel in the imagination of their own hearts, because they have departed from me through all their idols.

5 чтобы вернуть к Себе сердца исраильтян, которые оставили Меня ради идолов».

6 Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the LORD God: Repent, and turn away from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.

6 Поэтому скажи народу Исраила: Так говорит Владыка Вечный: «Покайтесь! Отвернитесь от идолов и оставьте свои омерзительные обычаи!

7 Если кто-либо из исраильтян или живущих в Исраиле чужеземцев отвернётся от Меня, воздвигнет у себя в сердце идолов и положит перед собой свой грех, как преграду, о которую спотыкается, но потом всё же пойдёт к пророку, чтобы спросить Меня через него, то Я, Вечный, Сам отвечу ему.

8 And I will pour out my anger against that man, and I will make him a sign and a proverb, and I will destroy him from the midst of my people; and you shall know that I am the LORD.

8 Я обращу лицо Моё против этого человека и сделаю его уроком и притчей на устах. Я изгоню его из Моего народа. Тогда вы узнаете, что Я – Вечный.

9 And when a prophet shall err and speak a word, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand against him, and I will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.

9 Если же пророк в заблуждении произносит пророчество, то это потому, что Я, Вечный, ввёл его в заблуждение, и Я подниму на него руку и изгоню его из Моего народа, Исраила.

10 And they shall both bear the punishment of their iniquity; the punishment of him who seeks to inquire shall be like the punishment of the prophet,

10 Они понесут свою кару – кара вопрошающего и кара пророка будет равной,

11 That the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither be polluted any more with all their transgressions; but that they may be my people and I may be their God, says the LORD God.

11 чтобы исраильтяне впредь не уклонялись от Меня и больше не оскверняли себя своими грехами. Тогда они будут Моим народом, а Я буду их Богом», – возвещает Владыка Вечный.

12 The word of the LORD came to me, saying,

12 Было ко мне слово Вечного:

13 Son of man, if a land should sin against me and commit iniquity before me, then I will stretch out my hand against it, and will break the staff of its wheat; and I will send famine upon it, and will destroy man and beast from it;

13 – Смертный, если страна согрешит против Меня отступничеством, то Я подниму на неё руку, чтобы уничтожить запасы пищи в ней, наслать на неё голод и погубить в ней людей и скот.

14 Though these three men, Noah, Daniel and Job were in the land, they would deliver but their own souls by their righteousness, says the LORD God.

14 Даже если бы Нух, . Даниял и Аюб, эти трое, были в ней, то они спасли бы своей праведностью только свои жизни, – возвещает Владыка Вечный. –

15 And if I should send vicious beasts against the land, and they destroy it so that it become desolate, so that no man could pass through because of the wild beasts;

15 Или если бы Я наслал на эту страну диких зверей для её опустошения, чтобы она пришла в такое запустение, что никто не смог бы пройти по ней из-за зверей,

16 Though these three men were in it, as I live, says the LORD God, they would deliver neither sons nor daughters; but they alone would be delivered and the land would be made desolate.

16 то верно, как и то, что Я живу, – возвещает Владыка Вечный, – что если бы эти трое были в ней, они не смогли бы спасти ни своих сыновей, ни своих дочерей. Они спаслись бы сами, но страна была бы опустошена.

17 Or if I should bring a sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through that land, and I destroy man and beast from it;

17 Или если бы Я послал на эту страну меч, сказав: «Пусть меч пройдёт по стране и погубит в ней людей и скот»,

18 Though these three men were in it, as I live, says the LORD God, they would deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they alone would be delivered.

18 то верно, как и то, что Я живу, – возвещает Владыка Вечный, – даже если бы эти трое были в ней, они не смогли бы спасти ни своих сыновей, ни своих дочерей, а спаслись бы лишь сами.

19 Or if I should send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, and destroy from it man and beast;

19 Или если бы Я наслал на эту страну мор и излил бы гнев на неё в кровопролитии, губя людей и скот,

20 Though Noah, Daniel and Job were in it, as I live, says the LORD God, they would deliver neither son nor daughter; but they would only deliver themselves by their righteousness.

20 то верно, как и то, что Я живу, – возвещает Владыка Вечный, – даже если бы Нух, Даниял и Аюб были в ней, они не смогли бы спасти ни своих сыновей, ни своих дочерей, а спаслись бы лишь сами благодаря своей праведности.

21 For thus says the LORD God: How much more when I send four sore judgments upon Jerusalem: the sword and famine and vicious beasts and pestilence, to destroy from it man and beast.

21 Так говорит Владыка Вечный: – Как же страшно будет, когда Я пошлю на Иерусалим четыре страшных казни: меч, голод, диких зверей и мор, чтобы погубить там людей и скот!

22 Yet there shall be left in it those who will be delivered, who will bring forth sons and daughters; and even they shall come forth to you, and you shall see their ways and their doings; and you shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, even concerning all that I have brought upon it.

22 Но в нём останутся и уцелевшие, их сыновья и дочери, которых выведут из него. Они придут к вам, и, увидев их поступки и дела, вы утешитесь о бедствии, которое Я наслал на Иерусалим, о всяком бедствии, которое Я наслал на него.

23 And they shall comfort you when you see their ways and their doings; and you shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, says the LORD God.

23 Вы утешитесь, увидев их поступки и дела, потому что вы узнаете, что Я ничего не делал в нём без причины, – возвещает Владыка Вечный.
