Amos

Chapter 2

1 THUS says the LORD: For three transgressions of Moab, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment from the people thereof, because they burned the bones of the king of Edom into lime;

2 But I will send a fire upon Moab, and it shall devour the palaces of Kirioth; and Moab shall die with tumult, with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet;

3 And I will cut off the judge from its midst, and will slay all its princes with him, says the LORD.

4 Thus says the LORD: For three transgressions of Judah. and for four, I will not turn away the punishment from the people thereof because they have rejected the law of the LORD and have not kept his commandments, and the vain idols, after which their fathers have walked, have caused them to go astray.

5 But I will send a fire upon Judah, and it shall devour the palaces of Jerusalem.

6 Thus says the LORD: For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn away the punishment thereof, because they sold a righteous man for silver, and the poor for a pair of shoes, with which they tread the dust of the earth.

7 And they oppress the poor, and turn away justice from the fatherless; and a man and his father go in to the same woman, to profane my holy name.

8 And they laid themselves down in filthy clothes on the sides of every altar, and they drank old wine in the houses of their gods.

9 Yet I destroyed the Amorite before them, whose height was like the height of a cedar, and he was strong as an oak; yet I destroyed his fruit from above and his roots from beneath.

10 Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, and brought you here to possess the land of the Amorite.

11 And I raised up some of your sons for prophets, and some of your young men for Nazarites. Is it not even thus, O you children of Israel? says the LORD.

12 But you gave the Nazarites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets that they should not prophesy.

13 Behold, I am weary under your burdens, as a cart creaks that is full of sheaves.

14 Therefore the power to run shall perish from the swift, and the strong shall not possess his strength, neither shall the mighty deliver himself.

15 And he that handles the bow shall not stand; and he who is a fast runner shall not deliver himself; neither shall he who rides the horse deliver himself.

16 And he who is courageous like a mighty man shall flee away naked in that day, says the LORD.

1 Так говорит Иегова: за три преступления Моава, и за четвертое не отменю сего, за то, что он сжег кости царя Идумейского в известь.

2 И пошлю огонь на Моава, и пожрет чертоги Кериофа; и будет умирать Моав среди шума, среди тревоги, при звуке трубы.

3 И истреблю у него судью и вместе с ним поражу всех князей его, говорит Иегова.

4 Так говорит Иегова: за три преступления Иуды, и за четвертое не отменю сего, за то, что они презрели закон Иеговы, и не хранят заповедей его, и совратили их с пути лжебоги их, вслед которых ходили отцы их.

5 И пошлю огонь на Иуду, и пожрет чертоги Иерусалима.

6 Так говорит Иегова: за три преступления Израиля и за четвертое не отменю сего, за то, что они за сребро продают праведного, и нищего - за пару сандалий,

7 Пыль земную любят видеть на голове бедных, и путь кротких отводят в сторону; и сын с отцем своим ходят к одной девице, чтобы порочить святое имя Мое;

8 И на взятых в залог одеждах возлежат подле всякого жертвенника, и вино казненных пьют в доме богов своих.

9 А Я прогнал от них Аморрея, коего рост равнялся высоте кедров, и который был крепок как дубы; и Я истребил плоды его вверху, и корни его внизу.

10 И Я поднял вас из земли египетской, и водил вас пустынею сорок лет, чтобы дать в наследственное владение землю Аморрея;

11 И сынов ваших поставил в пророки, и юношей ваших в назореи. Разве этого не было, сыны Израилевы? говорит Иегова.

12 А вы назореев вином поите, и пророкам даете приказание, говоря: не пророчествуйте.

13 Вот, Я согну вас, как гнется телега, наполненная снопами.

14 И не будет спасения быстроногому; и сильный силы своей не напряжет, и храбрый не сохранит души своей;

15 И стреляющий из лука не устоит; и прыткий ногами не убежит; и сидящий на коне не сохранит души своей;

16 И отважнейший духом из храбрых воинов побежит наг в тот день, говорит Иегова.

9 А Я прогнал от них Аморрея, коего рост равнялся высоте кедров, и который был крепок как дубы; и Я истребил плоды его вверху, и корни его внизу.

10 Also I brought you up from the land of Egypt, and led you forty years through the wilderness, and brought you here to possess the land of the Amorite.

10 И Я поднял вас из земли египетской, и водил вас пустынею сорок лет, чтобы дать в наследственное владение землю Аморрея;

11 And I raised up some of your sons for prophets, and some of your young men for Nazarites. Is it not even thus, O you children of Israel? says the LORD.

11 И сынов ваших поставил в пророки, и юношей ваших в назореи. Разве этого не было, сыны Израилевы? говорит Иегова.

12 But you gave the Nazarites wine to drink; and commanded the prophets that they should not prophesy.

12 А вы назореев вином поите, и пророкам даете приказание, говоря: не пророчествуйте.

13 Behold, I am weary under your burdens, as a cart creaks that is full of sheaves.

13 Вот, Я согну вас, как гнется телега, наполненная снопами.

14 И не будет спасения быстроногому; и сильный силы своей не напряжет, и храбрый не сохранит души своей;

15 И стреляющий из лука не устоит; и прыткий ногами не убежит; и сидящий на коне не сохранит души своей;

16 And he who is courageous like a mighty man shall flee away naked in that day, says the LORD.

16 И отважнейший духом из храбрых воинов побежит наг в тот день, говорит Иегова.
