Chapter 5

1 THE LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

2 Command the children of Israel that they put out of the camp every leper and every one who has a discharge and whosoever has defiled himself;

3 Both male and female shall you put outside the camp, that they may not defile your camps, for I dwell among you.

4 And the children of Israel did so, and put them outside the camp; as the LORD had said to Moses, so did the children of Israel.

5 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

6 Say to the children of Israel, When a man or a woman shall commit any sin that men commit, to do wrong in the sight of the LORD, and that person shall be guilty,

7 Then he shall confess his sins which he has committed; and his guilt shall return upon his own head; and he shall add a fifth part thereof, and give it to him whom he had wronged.

8 And if the person has no kinsman to whom to recompense the trespass, let the trespass offering which they bring on his behalf before the LORD be given to the priest in addition to the ram of the atonement with which an atonement is made for him.

9 And every offering of all the holy things of the children of Israel which they bring to the priest shall be his.

10 And every man's hallowed things shall be his; and whatever any man gives to the priest, shall be his.

11 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

12 Speak to the children of Israel and say to them, If any man's wife does wrong, and commits a trespass against him,

13 And a man lies with her carnally and it is hidden from the eyes of her husband and the act is kept secret and she is defiled and there is no witness against her, neither is she caught in the act,

14 And the temper of jealousy comes upon him and he be jealous of his wife and she is defiled; or if the temper of jealousy comes upon him and he becomes jealous of his wife and she is not defiled,

15 Then the man shall bring his wife to the priest, and he shall bring as his offering a tenth part of an ephah of barley flour; and he shall pour no oil upon it, nor put frankincense upon it; for it is a meal offering of jealousy, a meal offering for a memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance.

16 And the priest shall bring her near, and she shall stand before the LORD;

17 And the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel; and some of the dust that is in the base of the altar of the tabernacle the priest shall take and put it into the water;

18 And the priest shall set the woman before the LORD and shave the woman's head and put the offering of memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering; and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water of testing;

19 And the priest shall charge the woman by an oath, and say to her, If no man has lain with you besides your husband, and if you have not done wrong and become unclean, be absolved from these charges by this bitter water of testing;

20 But if you have done wrong by having lain with another man besides your husband, and if you have defiled yourself, and some other man has lain with you besides your husband;

21 Then the priest shall adjure the woman with the oaths of cursing, and the priest shall say to the woman, The LORD make you a curse and an oath among your people, when the LORD makes your thigh to rot and your belly to swell;

22 And this water of testing shall go into your belly and make your belly to swell and your thighs to rot; and the woman shall say, Amen, amen.

23 And the priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall blot out the writing in the water of testing;

24 And he shall make the woman drink the bitter water of testing; and the water of testing shall enter into her, to try her.

25 Then the priest shall take the jealousy meal offering out of the woman's hand, and shall wave the meal offering before the LORD, and offer it upon the altar;

26 And the priest shall take some of the meal offering as the memorial thereof, and burn it upon the altar, and afterward shall make the woman drink the water.

27 And when he has made her drink the water, if she has defiled herself and has committed iniquity against her husband, the water of testing shall enter into her, and shall try her, and if her belly shall swell and her thighs shall rot, then that woman shall be a curse among her people.

28 But if the woman has not defiled herself, but is pure, then she shall be absolved, and shall bear a male child.

29 This is the law of jealousy when a woman does wrong by having lain with another man besides her husband and defiles herself,

30 Or when the temper of jealousy comes upon a man and he is jealous over his wife and shall set the woman before the LORD, and the priest shall execute upon her all this law;

31 Then the man shall be blameless from guilt, but the woman shall bear her iniquity.

1 И говорил Господь Моисею, и сказал:

2 Вели сынам Израилевым выслать из стана всех прокаженных и всех имеющих истечение, и всех осквернившихся от мертвого,

3 И мужчин и женщин вышлите, за стан вышлите их, чтобы не оскверняли они станов своих, среди коих Я живу.

4 И сделали так сыны Израилевы, и выслали их вон из стана; как говорил Господь Моисею, так и сделали сыны Израилевы.

5 И говорил Господь Моисею, и сказал:

6 Скажи сынам Израилевым: если мужчина или женщина, как человек, сделает какой-либо грех и сделает преступление против Господа, и виновна будет душа та:

7 То пусть исповедаются во грехе своем, который они сделали, и возвратят то, в чем виновны, и прибавят к тому пятую часть и отдадут тому, против кого согрешили,

8 Если же у него нет родственника, которому бы можно было удовлетворить за грех: то отдаваемое в удовлетворение за грех, принадлежит Господу для священника, сверх овна очищения, которым он очистит его.

9 И всякое возношение из святынь сынов Израилевых, которые они приносят к священнику, ему принадлежит.

10 И посвященное кем-либо ему принадлежит. Все, что даст кто священнику, ему принадлежит.

11 И говорил Господь Моисею, и сказал:

12 Объяви сынам Израилевым, и скажи им: если оставит кого жена и согрешит против него,

13 И преспит кто с нею и излиет семя, и это будет скрыто от глаз мужа ее, и она осквернится тайно и не будет на нее свидетеля, и не будет уличена,

14 И найдет на него дух ревности и будет ревновать к жене своей, когда она осквернена, или найдет на него дух ревности, и он будет ревновать к жене своей, хотя она не осквернена:

15 Пусть приведет муж жену свою к священнику и принесет за нее в жертву десятую часть ефы ячменной муки, но не возливает на нее елея и не кладет ливана, потому что это приношение ревнования, приношение воспоминания, напоминающее о беззаконии.

16 А священник пусть приведет ее и поставит ее пред лице Господне,

17 И возьмет священник святой воды в глиняной сосуд, и возьмет священник пыли с полу скинии и положит в воду;

18 И пусть поставит священник жену пред лице Господне и обнажит голову жены и даст ей в руки приношение воспоминания, оное приношение ревнования, а в руке у священника между тем будет горькая вода заклинательная.

19 И заклянет ее священник, и скажет жене: если никто не преспал с тобою и ты не осквернилась, оставив мужа своего: то невредима будешь от сей горькой заклинательной воды;

20 Но если ты оставила мужа твоего и осквернилась, и если кто излил с тобою семя кроме мужа:

21 (Тогда священник пусть заклянет жену клятвою проклятия, и скажет священник жене: ) то да предаст тебя Господь проклятью и клятве в народе твоем, и да соделает Господь бедро твое иссохшим, и чрево твое надутым.

22 И да пройдет заклинательная вода сия во внутренность твою, чтобы надуть чрево [твое], и иссушить бедро [твое], и пусть скажет жена: аминь, аминь.

23 И напишет священник заклинания сии на записке и смоет их горькою водою;

24 И даст жене выпить горькую сию заклинательную воду, чтобы вошла в нее горькая заклинательная вода

25 И возьмет священник из рук жены хлебное приношение ревнования и принесет сие хлебное приношение, потрясая пред Господом, и отнесет сие к жертвеннику.

26 И возьмет священник горстью из хлебного приношения сего часть в память, и сожжет на жертвеннике, и после сего даст жене выпить воды.

27 И когда напоит ее водою, тогда, если она нечиста и сделала преступление против мужа своего, горькая заклинательная вода сия войдет в нее, и надуется чрево ее и иссохнет бедро ее, и будет она проклятою женою в народе своем.

28 Если же жена не осквернилась и была чиста, то останется невредима и будет оплодотворяема семенем.

29 Вот закон о ревновании, когда жена оставит мужа своего и осквернится;

30 Или когда на мужа найдет дух ревности и он будет ревновать к жене своей. Тогда пусть он поставит жену пред лицем Господа, и сделает с нею священник все, что предписано сим законом.

31 И тогда муж чист будет от греха, а жена понесет на себе грех свой.

2 Вели сынам Израилевым выслать из стана всех прокаженных и всех имеющих истечение, и всех осквернившихся от мертвого,

3 Both male and female shall you put outside the camp, that they may not defile your camps, for I dwell among you.

3 И мужчин и женщин вышлите, за стан вышлите их, чтобы не оскверняли они станов своих, среди коих Я живу.

4 And the children of Israel did so, and put them outside the camp; as the LORD had said to Moses, so did the children of Israel.

4 И сделали так сыны Израилевы, и выслали их вон из стана; как говорил Господь Моисею, так и сделали сыны Израилевы.

5 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

5 И говорил Господь Моисею, и сказал:

6 Say to the children of Israel, When a man or a woman shall commit any sin that men commit, to do wrong in the sight of the LORD, and that person shall be guilty,

6 Скажи сынам Израилевым: если мужчина или женщина, как человек, сделает какой-либо грех и сделает преступление против Господа, и виновна будет душа та:

7 Then he shall confess his sins which he has committed; and his guilt shall return upon his own head; and he shall add a fifth part thereof, and give it to him whom he had wronged.

7 То пусть исповедаются во грехе своем, который они сделали, и возвратят то, в чем виновны, и прибавят к тому пятую часть и отдадут тому, против кого согрешили,

8 Если же у него нет родственника, которому бы можно было удовлетворить за грех: то отдаваемое в удовлетворение за грех, принадлежит Господу для священника, сверх овна очищения, которым он очистит его.

9 And every offering of all the holy things of the children of Israel which they bring to the priest shall be his.

9 И всякое возношение из святынь сынов Израилевых, которые они приносят к священнику, ему принадлежит.

10 And every man's hallowed things shall be his; and whatever any man gives to the priest, shall be his.

10 И посвященное кем-либо ему принадлежит. Все, что даст кто священнику, ему принадлежит.

11 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

11 И говорил Господь Моисею, и сказал:

12 Speak to the children of Israel and say to them, If any man's wife does wrong, and commits a trespass against him,

12 Объяви сынам Израилевым, и скажи им: если оставит кого жена и согрешит против него,

13 And a man lies with her carnally and it is hidden from the eyes of her husband and the act is kept secret and she is defiled and there is no witness against her, neither is she caught in the act,

13 И преспит кто с нею и излиет семя, и это будет скрыто от глаз мужа ее, и она осквернится тайно и не будет на нее свидетеля, и не будет уличена,

14 And the temper of jealousy comes upon him and he be jealous of his wife and she is defiled; or if the temper of jealousy comes upon him and he becomes jealous of his wife and she is not defiled,

14 И найдет на него дух ревности и будет ревновать к жене своей, когда она осквернена, или найдет на него дух ревности, и он будет ревновать к жене своей, хотя она не осквернена:

15 Then the man shall bring his wife to the priest, and he shall bring as his offering a tenth part of an ephah of barley flour; and he shall pour no oil upon it, nor put frankincense upon it; for it is a meal offering of jealousy, a meal offering for a memorial, bringing iniquity to remembrance.

15 Пусть приведет муж жену свою к священнику и принесет за нее в жертву десятую часть ефы ячменной муки, но не возливает на нее елея и не кладет ливана, потому что это приношение ревнования, приношение воспоминания, напоминающее о беззаконии.

16 And the priest shall bring her near, and she shall stand before the LORD;

16 А священник пусть приведет ее и поставит ее пред лице Господне,

17 And the priest shall take holy water in an earthen vessel; and some of the dust that is in the base of the altar of the tabernacle the priest shall take and put it into the water;

17 И возьмет священник святой воды в глиняной сосуд, и возьмет священник пыли с полу скинии и положит в воду;

18 And the priest shall set the woman before the LORD and shave the woman's head and put the offering of memorial in her hands, which is the jealousy offering; and the priest shall have in his hand the bitter water of testing;

18 И пусть поставит священник жену пред лице Господне и обнажит голову жены и даст ей в руки приношение воспоминания, оное приношение ревнования, а в руке у священника между тем будет горькая вода заклинательная.

19 And the priest shall charge the woman by an oath, and say to her, If no man has lain with you besides your husband, and if you have not done wrong and become unclean, be absolved from these charges by this bitter water of testing;

19 И заклянет ее священник, и скажет жене: если никто не преспал с тобою и ты не осквернилась, оставив мужа своего: то невредима будешь от сей горькой заклинательной воды;

20 But if you have done wrong by having lain with another man besides your husband, and if you have defiled yourself, and some other man has lain with you besides your husband;

20 Но если ты оставила мужа твоего и осквернилась, и если кто излил с тобою семя кроме мужа:

21 Then the priest shall adjure the woman with the oaths of cursing, and the priest shall say to the woman, The LORD make you a curse and an oath among your people, when the LORD makes your thigh to rot and your belly to swell;

21 (Тогда священник пусть заклянет жену клятвою проклятия, и скажет священник жене: ) то да предаст тебя Господь проклятью и клятве в народе твоем, и да соделает Господь бедро твое иссохшим, и чрево твое надутым.

22 And this water of testing shall go into your belly and make your belly to swell and your thighs to rot; and the woman shall say, Amen, amen.

22 И да пройдет заклинательная вода сия во внутренность твою, чтобы надуть чрево [твое], и иссушить бедро [твое], и пусть скажет жена: аминь, аминь.

23 And the priest shall write these curses in a book, and he shall blot out the writing in the water of testing;

23 И напишет священник заклинания сии на записке и смоет их горькою водою;

24 And he shall make the woman drink the bitter water of testing; and the water of testing shall enter into her, to try her.

24 И даст жене выпить горькую сию заклинательную воду, чтобы вошла в нее горькая заклинательная вода

25 Then the priest shall take the jealousy meal offering out of the woman's hand, and shall wave the meal offering before the LORD, and offer it upon the altar;

25 И возьмет священник из рук жены хлебное приношение ревнования и принесет сие хлебное приношение, потрясая пред Господом, и отнесет сие к жертвеннику.

26 And the priest shall take some of the meal offering as the memorial thereof, and burn it upon the altar, and afterward shall make the woman drink the water.

26 И возьмет священник горстью из хлебного приношения сего часть в память, и сожжет на жертвеннике, и после сего даст жене выпить воды.

27 And when he has made her drink the water, if she has defiled herself and has committed iniquity against her husband, the water of testing shall enter into her, and shall try her, and if her belly shall swell and her thighs shall rot, then that woman shall be a curse among her people.

27 И когда напоит ее водою, тогда, если она нечиста и сделала преступление против мужа своего, горькая заклинательная вода сия войдет в нее, и надуется чрево ее и иссохнет бедро ее, и будет она проклятою женою в народе своем.

28 But if the woman has not defiled herself, but is pure, then she shall be absolved, and shall bear a male child.

28 Если же жена не осквернилась и была чиста, то останется невредима и будет оплодотворяема семенем.

29 This is the law of jealousy when a woman does wrong by having lain with another man besides her husband and defiles herself,

29 Вот закон о ревновании, когда жена оставит мужа своего и осквернится;

30 Or when the temper of jealousy comes upon a man and he is jealous over his wife and shall set the woman before the LORD, and the priest shall execute upon her all this law;

30 Или когда на мужа найдет дух ревности и он будет ревновать к жене своей. Тогда пусть он поставит жену пред лицем Господа, и сделает с нею священник все, что предписано сим законом.

31 Then the man shall be blameless from guilt, but the woman shall bear her iniquity.

31 И тогда муж чист будет от греха, а жена понесет на себе грех свой.
