Chapter 8

1 MOREOVER the LORD said to me, Take a large scroll and write on it plainly, To hasten the captivity, and to record the spoil.

2 And I took to me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest and Zechariah the son of Berechiah.

3 Then I went to the prophetess; and she conceived and bore a son. Then the LORD said to me, Call his name Mesarhib-shabey-otakib-baz, Hasten to take away captives; speed to take away the spoil.

4 For before the child shall know how to cry, My father and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.

5 The LORD spoke to me again, saying,

6 Forsasmuch as this people have refused the waters of Shiloah, that flow softly, and rejoice in Rezin and the son of Romaliah;

7 Now therefore, behold, the LORD brings up against them the waters of the river (Euphrates), many and strong, even the king of Assyria and all his glory; and he shall come up over all their brooks, and walk over all their fortified walls;

8 And he shall pass through Judah and shall sweep on and go over; he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of your land, O Immanuel.

9 Tremble, O you people, and you shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all you of far countries; gird yourselves, and you shall be defeated.

10 Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand; for God is with us.

11 For the LORD spoke thus to me, as he held me and led me aside that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,

12 Do not say, A conspiracy, as this people has said conspiracy, neither shall you worship their idols nor be afraid of them.

13 Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; he is your God and he is your helper.

14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; and for a stone of offense and for a rock of stumbling to both the houses of Israel, for a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

15 And many of them shall stumble by them; they shall fall and be broken and be snared and be taken.

16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law,

17 And in my teaching I will wait for the LORD, who has turned away his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

18 Behold, I and the children whom the LORD has given me are for a sign and for a wonder in Israel from the LORD of hosts, who dwells on mount Zion.

19 And when they shall say to you, Inquire of men who have familiar spirits and of wise men who chirp and mutter, these men are not God's people, who inquire of the dead concerning the living.

20 As for the law and the testimony, if they do not speak according to this word, it is because they do not receive a bribe for it.

21 And they shall pass through the land sorely beset and hungry; and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall be angry and will curse their king, and their God, and be haughty.

22 And they shall look to the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, tribulation and dimness shall scatter them; but he shall not afflict him who is in distress as in the former time.

1 Господь сказал: «Возьми большой свиток и напиши обыкновенным пером: „Магер-шелал-хаш-баз ”».

2 Я созвал людей, которые достойны быть свидетелями: священника Урию и Захарию, сына Варахии. Они видели, когда я писал всё это.

3 Затем я пошёл к своей жене, пророчице, и был с ней, и она родила сына. Тогда Господь сказал мне: «Назови сына Магер-Шелал-Хаш-Баз».

4 Потому что, прежде чем мальчик научится говорить «мама и папа», Бог заберёт все богатства Дамаска и Самарии и отдаст их ассирийскому царю.

5 Господь продолжал говорить со мной:

6 «Эти люди отказались от медленных вод Шилоаха. Они счастливы с Рецином и сыном Ремалии,

7 но Я, Господь, приведу царя Ассирии и всю его силу против тебя, придут они как наводнение, когда Евфрат поднимается выше своих берегов.

8 Эти воды потекут по всей Иудее, дойдут ей до горла и почти затопят её. Но Господь закроет всю страну своими крыльями, Эммануил».

9 Приготовьтесь к войне, народы, но вы будете побеждены. Слушайте, все дальние страны, и к битве готовьтесь, но вы будете побеждены.

10 Стройте планы сражений, но вашим замыслам не суждено сбыться. Отдавайте приказы своим войскам, но будут они бессильны, так как с нами Бог!

11 Господь во всём Своём могуществе говорил со мной, предупредив меня не поступать как все. Он сказал:

12 «Каждый считает, что другие замышляют зло против него, — не верь этому и не бойся того, чего страшатся другие!»

13 Ты должен бояться Господа Всемогущего, Его ты должен почитать и перед Ним трепетать.

14 Если будешь чтить Господа, Он станет твоим убежищем, но ты Его не почитаешь, и потому Господь будет камнем преткновения, через который вы споткнётесь. Он — камень, о который спотыкаются два рода Израиля. Он станет ловушкой для жителей Иерусалима.

15 (Многие упадут, споткнувшись через этот камень, и многие попадут в эти силки).

16 И сказал Бог Исаии: «Составь соглашение и запечатай его так, чтобы никто не смог исправить написанного, а затем отдай его Моим последователям. Пусть они сохранят его для будущих поколений.

17 Вот этот завет: Господь отвернулся от семьи Иакова, но я не перестану ждать Его. Я верю, что Он придёт и нас спасёт.

18 Дети мои и я сам — доказательство и предзнаменование для людей Израиля. Мы были посланы Господом Всемогущим, живущим на Сионе».

19 Некоторые говорят: «Спроси предсказателей будущего и чародеев. Они всегда чирикают как птицы и бормочут себе под нос, чтобы люди поверили, будто у них есть сила». Почему живые должны просить помощи у мёртвых? Я же говорю, что народ должен просить помощи у Бога.

20 Вы должны следовать поучениям и соглашению. Слушайте клятву мою: если вы по-прежнему будете следовать за чародеями и предсказателями будущего, вас настигнет смерть.

21 Обездоленные люди будут скитаться по земле в поисках пищи. От голода они будут проклинать царя и его богов. Они обратят свой взор в небеса,

22 а затем, посмотрев на свою страну, увидят лишь беды, разочарования и мрак, от которого не спастись.

3 Затем я пошёл к своей жене, пророчице, и был с ней, и она родила сына. Тогда Господь сказал мне: «Назови сына Магер-Шелал-Хаш-Баз».

4 For before the child shall know how to cry, My father and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.

4 Потому что, прежде чем мальчик научится говорить «мама и папа», Бог заберёт все богатства Дамаска и Самарии и отдаст их ассирийскому царю.

5 The LORD spoke to me again, saying,

5 Господь продолжал говорить со мной:

6 Forsasmuch as this people have refused the waters of Shiloah, that flow softly, and rejoice in Rezin and the son of Romaliah;

6 «Эти люди отказались от медленных вод Шилоаха. Они счастливы с Рецином и сыном Ремалии,

7 Now therefore, behold, the LORD brings up against them the waters of the river (Euphrates), many and strong, even the king of Assyria and all his glory; and he shall come up over all their brooks, and walk over all their fortified walls;

7 но Я, Господь, приведу царя Ассирии и всю его силу против тебя, придут они как наводнение, когда Евфрат поднимается выше своих берегов.

8 And he shall pass through Judah and shall sweep on and go over; he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of your land, O Immanuel.

8 Эти воды потекут по всей Иудее, дойдут ей до горла и почти затопят её. Но Господь закроет всю страну своими крыльями, Эммануил».

9 Tremble, O you people, and you shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all you of far countries; gird yourselves, and you shall be defeated.

9 Приготовьтесь к войне, народы, но вы будете побеждены. Слушайте, все дальние страны, и к битве готовьтесь, но вы будете побеждены.

10 Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand; for God is with us.

15 And many of them shall stumble by them; they shall fall and be broken and be snared and be taken.

15 (Многие упадут, споткнувшись через этот камень, и многие попадут в эти силки).

16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law,

16 И сказал Бог Исаии: «Составь соглашение и запечатай его так, чтобы никто не смог исправить написанного, а затем отдай его Моим последователям. Пусть они сохранят его для будущих поколений.

17 And in my teaching I will wait for the LORD, who has turned away his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

17 Вот этот завет: Господь отвернулся от семьи Иакова, но я не перестану ждать Его. Я верю, что Он придёт и нас спасёт.

18 Behold, I and the children whom the LORD has given me are for a sign and for a wonder in Israel from the LORD of hosts, who dwells on mount Zion.

18 Дети мои и я сам — доказательство и предзнаменование для людей Израиля. Мы были посланы Господом Всемогущим, живущим на Сионе».

19 Некоторые говорят: «Спроси предсказателей будущего и чародеев. Они всегда чирикают как птицы и бормочут себе под нос, чтобы люди поверили, будто у них есть сила». Почему живые должны просить помощи у мёртвых? Я же говорю, что народ должен просить помощи у Бога.

20 As for the law and the testimony, if they do not speak according to this word, it is because they do not receive a bribe for it.

20 Вы должны следовать поучениям и соглашению. Слушайте клятву мою: если вы по-прежнему будете следовать за чародеями и предсказателями будущего, вас настигнет смерть.

21 And they shall pass through the land sorely beset and hungry; and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall be angry and will curse their king, and their God, and be haughty.

21 Обездоленные люди будут скитаться по земле в поисках пищи. От голода они будут проклинать царя и его богов. Они обратят свой взор в небеса,

22 And they shall look to the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, tribulation and dimness shall scatter them; but he shall not afflict him who is in distress as in the former time.

22 а затем, посмотрев на свою страну, увидят лишь беды, разочарования и мрак, от которого не спастись.
