Chapter 5

1 THEN I turned and lifted up my eyes and looked, and beheld a flying scroll.

2 And he said to me, What do you see? And I said, I see a flying scroll; its length is twenty cubits and its width ten cubits.

3 Then he said to me, This is the curse that goes forth over the face of the whole earth; for every one who steals shall be judged according to its contents; and every one who swears shall be judged according to it.

4 I will bring it forth, says the LORD of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief and into the house of him who swears falsely by my name; and it shall remain in the midst of his house and shall consume it with the timber thereof and the stones thereof.

5 Then the angel who talked with me went forth and said to me, Lift up your eyes and see what is this that goes forth.

6 And I said, What is it? And he said to me, This is an ephah that goes forth, and in it are the transgressions of the whole earth.

7 And behold, a talent of lead was lifted up, and a woman was sitting in the midst of the ephah.

8 And he said to me, This is wickedness. And he cast her into the midst of the ephah; and he cast the talent of lead upon its mouth.

9 Then I lifted up my eyes and looked, and behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork; and they lifted up the ephah between earth and heaven.

10 Then I said to the angel who talked with me, Where are they carrying the ephah?

11 And he said to me, To build for it a house in the land of Babylon; and it shall be established and set there upon its own base.

1 И опять7725 поднял5375 я глаза5869 мои и увидел:7200 вот летит5774 свиток.4039

2 И сказал559 он мне: что видишь7200 ты? Я отвечал:559 вижу7200 летящий5774 свиток;4039 длина753 его двадцать6242 локтей,520 а ширина7341 его десять6235 локтей.520

3 Он сказал559 мне: это проклятие,423 исходящее3318 на5921 лице6440 всей земли;776 ибо всякий, кто крадет,1589 будет5352 истреблен,5352 как3644 написано на одной стороне, и всякий, клянущийся7650 ложно, истреблен5352 будет,5352 как3644 написано на другой стороне.

4 Я навел3318 его, говорит5002 Господь3068 Саваоф,6635 и оно войдет935 в дом1004 татя1590 и в дом1004 клянущегося7650 Моим именем8034 ложно,8267 и пребудет3885 в8432 доме1004 его, и истребит3615 его, и дерева6086 его, и камни68 его.

5 И вышел3318 Ангел,4397 говоривший1696 со мною, и сказал559 мне: подними5375 еще глаза5869 твои и посмотри,7200 что это выходит?3318

6 Когда же я сказал:559 что это? Он отвечал:559 это выходит3318 ефа,374 и сказал:559 это образ5869 их по всей земле.776

7 И вот, кусок3603 свинца5777 поднялся,5375 и там сидела3427 одна259 женщина802 посреди8432 ефы.374

8 И сказал559 он: эта женщина — само нечестие,7564 и бросил7993 ее в средину8432 ефы,374 а на отверстие6310 ее бросил7993 свинцовый5777 кусок.68

9 И поднял5375 я глаза5869 мои и увидел:7200 вот, появились3318 две8147 женщины,802 и ветер7307 был в крыльях3671 их, и крылья3671 у них2007 как крылья3671 аиста;2624 и подняли5375 они ефу374 и понесли ее между землею776 и небом.8064

10 И сказал559 я Ангелу,4397 говорившему1696 со мною: куда несут3212 они эту ефу?374

11 Тогда сказал559 он мне: чтобы устроить1129 для нее дом1004 в земле776 Сеннаар,8152 и когда будет3559 все приготовлено,3559 то она поставится3240 там на своей основе.4369
