Chapter 5

1 And they came2064 over to the other4008 side4008 of the sea,2281 into1519 the country5561 of the Gadarenes.1046

2 And when he was come1831 out of the ship,4143 immediately2112 there met528 him out of the tombs3419 a man444 with an unclean169 spirit,4151

3 Who3739 had2192 his dwelling2731 among1722 the tombs;3419 and no3762 man3762 could1410 bind1210 him, no,3777 not with chains:254

4 Because1223 that he had been often4178 bound1210 with fetters3976 and chains,254 and the chains254 had been plucked1288 asunder1288 by him, and the fetters3976 broken4937 in pieces: neither2532 3762 could2480 any3762 man tame1150 him.

5 And always,1275 night3571 and day,2250 he was in the mountains,3735 and in the tombs,3418 crying,2896 and cutting2629 himself1438 with stones.3037

6 But when he saw1492 Jesus2424 afar3113 off,575 he ran5143 and worshipped4352 him,

7 And cried2896 with a loud3173 voice,5456 and said,2036 What5101 have I to do with you, Jesus,2424 you Son5207 of the most5310 high5310 God?2316 I adjure3726 you by God,2316 that you torment928 me not.

8 For he said3004 to him, Come1831 out of the man,444 you unclean169 spirit.4151

9 And he asked1905 him, What5101 is your name?3686 And he answered,611 saying,3004 My name3686 is Legion:3003 for we are many.4183

10 And he sought3870 him much4183 that he would not send649 them away649 out of the country.5561

11 Now1161 there1563 was there near4314 to the mountains3735 a great3173 herd34 of swine5519 feeding.1006

12 And all3956 the devils1142 sought3870 him, saying,3004 Send3992 us into1519 the swine,5519 that we may enter1525 into1519 them.

13 And immediately2112 Jesus2424 gave2010 them leave.2010 And the unclean169 spirits4151 went1831 out, and entered1525 into1519 the swine:5519 and the herd34 ran3729 violently down2596 a steep2911 place into1519 the sea,2281 (they were about5613 two1367 thousand;1367) and were choked4155 in the sea.2281

14 And they that fed1006 the swine5519 fled,5343 and told312 it in the city,4172 and in the country.68 And they went1831 out to see1492 what5101 it was that was done.1096

15 And they come2064 to Jesus,2424 and see2334 him that was possessed1139 with the devil,1139 and had2192 the legion,3003 sitting,2521 and clothed,2439 and in his right4993 mind:4993 and they were afraid.5399

16 And they that saw1492 it told1334 them how4459 it befell1096 to him that was possessed1139 with the devil,1139 and also concerning4012 the swine.5519

17 And they began756 to pray3870 him to depart565 out of their coasts.3725

18 And when he was come1684 into1519 the ship,4143 he that had been possessed1139 with the devil1139 prayed3870 him that he might be with him.

19 However, Jesus2424 suffered863 him not, but said3004 to him, Go5217 home3624 to your friends,4674 and tell312 them how3745 great3745 things the Lord2962 has done4160 for you, and has had compassion1653 on you.

20 And he departed,565 and began756 to publish2784 in Decapolis1179 how3745 great3745 things Jesus2424 had done4160 for him: and all3956 men did marvel.2296

21 And when Jesus2424 was passed1276 over1276 again3825 by ship4143 to the other4008 side,4008 much4183 people3793 gathered4863 to him: and he was near3844 to the sea.2281

22 And, behold,2400 there comes2064 one1520 of the rulers752 of the synagogue,752 Jairus2383 by name;3686 and when he saw1492 him, he fell4098 at4314 his feet,4228

23 And sought3870 him greatly,4183 saying,3004 My little2365 daughter2365 lies2192 at the point2079 of death:2079 I pray you, come2064 and lay2007 your hands5495 on2007 her, that she may be healed;4982 and she shall live.2198

24 And Jesus went565 with him; and much4183 people3793 followed190 him, and thronged4918 him.

25 And a certain woman,1135 which had1510 an issue4511 of blood129 twelve1427 years,2094

26 And had suffered3958 many4183 things of many4183 physicians,2395 and had spent1159 all3956 that she had,3844 and was nothing3367 bettered,5623 but rather3123 grew2064 worse,5501

27 When she had heard191 of Jesus,2424 came2064 in the press3793 behind,3693 and touched680 his garment.2440

28 For she said,3004 If2579 I may touch680 but his clothes,2440 I shall be whole.4982

29 And straightway2112 the fountain4077 of her blood129 was dried3583 up; and she felt1097 in her body4983 that she was healed2390 of that plague.3148

30 And Jesus,2424 immediately2112 knowing1921 in himself1438 that virtue1411 had gone1831 out of him, turned1994 him about1994 in the press,3793 and said,3004 Who5101 touched680 my clothes?2440

31 And his disciples3101 said3004 to him, You see991 the multitude3793 thronging4918 you, and say3004 you, Who5101 touched680 me?

32 And he looked4017 round4017 about4017 to see1492 her that had done4160 this5124 thing.

33 But the woman1135 fearing5399 and trembling,5141 knowing1492 what3739 was done1096 in her, came2064 and fell4363 down before4363 him, and told2036 him all3956 the truth.225

34 And he said2036 to her, Daughter,2364 your faith4102 has made4982 you whole;4982 go5217 in peace,1515 and be whole5199 of your plague.3148

35 While he yet2089 spoke,2980 there came2064 from the ruler752 of the synagogue's752 house certain which said,3004 Your daughter2364 is dead:599 why5101 trouble4660 you the Master1320 any2089 further?2089

36 As soon2112 as Jesus2424 heard191 the word3056 that was spoken,2980 he said3004 to the ruler752 of the synagogue,752 Be not afraid,5399 only3440 believe.4100

37 And he suffered863 no3762 man3762 to follow4870 him, save1508 Peter,4074 and James,2385 and John2491 the brother80 of James.2385

38 And he comes2064 to the house3624 of the ruler752 of the synagogue,752 and sees2334 the tumult,2351 and them that wept2799 and wailed214 greatly.4183

39 And when he was come1525 in, he said3004 to them, Why5101 make2350 you this ado,2350 and weep?2799 the damsel3813 is not dead,599 but sleeps.2518

40 And they laughed2606 him to scorn.2606 But when he had put1544 them all537 out, he takes3880 the father3962 and the mother3384 of the damsel,3813 and them that were with him, and enters1531 in where3699 the damsel3813 was lying.345

41 And he took2902 the damsel3813 by the hand,5495 and said3004 to her, Talitha5008 cumi;2891 which3739 is, being interpreted,3177 Damsel,2877 I say3004 to you, arise.1453

42 And straightway2112 the damsel2877 arose,450 and walked;4043 for she was of the age of twelve1427 years.2094 And they were astonished1839 with a great3173 astonishment.1611

43 And he charged1291 them straightly4183 that no3367 man3367 should know1097 it; and commanded2036 that something should be given1325 her to eat.5315

Kapitel 5

1 Und2532 sie kamen2064 jenseit4008 des Meers2281, in1519 die1519 Gegend5561 der Gadarener1046.

2 Und2532 als er846 aus1831 dem1537 Schiff4143 trat, lief528 ihm alsbald2112 entgegen aus1537 den Gräbern3419 ein besessener Mensch444 mit1722 einem unsaubern169 Geist4151,

3 der3739 seine846 Wohnung2731 in1722 den Gräbern3419 hatte2192. Und2532 niemand3762 konnte1410 ihn binden1210, auch nicht3777 mit Ketten254.

4 Denn1223 er846 war oft4178 mit5259 Fesseln3976 und2532 Ketten254 gebunden gewesen1210 und hatte1288 die Ketten254 abgerissen und die Fesseln3976 zerrieben4937, und niemand3762 konnte2480 ihn846 zähmen1150.

5 Und2532 er war2258 allezeit1275, Tag2250 und2532 Nacht3571, auf den Bergen3735 und2532 in1722 den Gräbern3418, schrie2896 und2532 schlug2629 sich1438 mit1722 Steinen3037.

6 Da er846 aber1161 JEsus2424 sah1492 von ferne3113, lief5143 er zu und2532 fiel vor ihm nieder, schrie laut und4352 sprach:

7 Was5101 hab‘ ich1698 mit2532 dir4571 zu tun, o JEsu2424, du3361 Sohn Gottes2316, des Allerhöchsten5310,? Ich beschwöre3726 dich4671 bei GOtt2316, daß du mich3165 nicht2532 quälest928!

8 Er846 aber1063 sprach3004 zu ihm: Fahre aus1831, du unsauberer169 Geist4151, von1537 dem Menschen444!

9 Und2532 er846 fragte1905 ihn: Wie heißest3004 du4671? Und2532 er antwortete611 und sprach5101: Legion3003 heiße3686 ich3427; denn3754 unser ist viel4183.

10 Und2532 er846 bat3870 ihn sehr4183, daß3363 er649 sie846 nicht3363 aus1854 derselben Gegend5561 triebe649.

11 Und1161 es war2258 daselbst1563 an4314 den Bergen3735 eine große3173 Herde34 Säue5519 auf der Weide1006.

12 Und2532 die1519 Teufel1142 baten3870 ihn846 alle3956 und sprachen3004: Laß3992 uns2248 in1519 die846 Säue5519 fahren1525!

13 Und2532 alsbald2112 erlaubete ihnen846 JEsus2424. Da fuhren1831 die unsaubern169 Geister4151 aus und2532 fuhren1525 in1519 die Säue5519 und2532 die Herde34 stürzte sich3729 mit1722 einem Sturm ins1519 Meer2281 (ihrer war2258 aber bei5613 zweitausend1367) und2532 ersoffen4155 im2596 Meer.

14 Und1161 die Sauhirten5519 flohen5343 und2532 verkündigten312 das in1519 der Stadt4172 und2532 auf1519 dem Lande68. Und2532 sie gingen hinaus1831, zu sehen1492, was5101 da geschehen1096 war2076.

15 Und2532 kamen2064 zu4314 JEsu2424 und2532 sahen2334 den, so von den Teufeln besessen1139 war2192, daß er5399 saß2521 und2532 war bekleidet2439 und2532 vernünftig4993, und2532 fürchteten sich.

16 Und2532 die es gesehen1492 hatten, sagten1334 ihnen846, was4459 dem Besessenen1139 widerfahren war1096, und2532 von4012 den Säuen5519.

17 Und2532 sie846 fingen an756 und baten3870 ihn, daß er846 aus565 ihrer575 Gegend3725 zöge.

18 Und2532 da er846 in1519 das Schiff4143 trat1684, bat3870 ihn der Besessene1139, daß2443 er möchte5600 bei3326 ihm sein.

19 Aber1161 JEsus2424 ließ es ihm846 nicht3756 zu4314, sondern235 sprach3004 zu ihm846: Gehe5217 hin in dein4675 Haus und2532 zu den Deinen4674 und2532 verkündige312 ihnen846, wie große3745 Wohltat dir4671 der HErr2962 getan4160 und sich863 deiner4571 erbarmet1653 hat.

20 Und2532 er846 ging565 hin und2532 fing756 an auszurufen2784 in1722 den zehn Städten1179, wie große3745 Wohltat ihm JEsus2424 getan4160 hatte. Und2532 jedermann3956 verwunderte2296 sich.

21 Und2532 da JEsus2424 wieder3825 herüberfuhr1276 im1909 Schiff4143, versammelte4863 sich viel4183 Volks3793 zu1722 ihm846 und2532 war2258 an1519 dem Meer2281.

22 Und2532 siehe2400, da kam2064 der1520 Obersten einer von der Schule752 mit Namen3686 Jairus2383. Und2532 da er846 ihn sah1492, fiel4098 er846 ihm zu4314 Füßen4228

23 und2532 bat3870 ihn sehr4183 und3704 sprach: Meine3450 Tochter2365 ist2192 in den letzten Zügen2079; du wollest kommen2064 und2532 deine Hand5495 auf sie846 legen2007, daß2443 sie846 gesund4982 werde und lebe2198.

24 Und2532 er846 ging565 hin mit ihm846. Und2532 es folgte190 ihm viel4183 Volks3793 nach3326, und2532 sie846 drängeten ihn.

25 Und2532 da1722 war ein5100 Weib1135, das5607 hatte den Blutgang4511 zwölf1427 Jahre2094 gehabt

26 und2532 viel4183 erlitten3958 von5259 vielen4183 Ärzten2395 und2532 hatte1159 all3956 ihr1438 Gut3844 darob verzehrt; und2532 half5623 ihr nichts3367, sondern235 vielmehr3123 ward2064 es5623 ärger mit ihr.

27 Da die von4012 JEsu2424 hörete, kam191 sie846 im Volk3793 von hinten3693 zu1722 und rührete sein2064 Kleid2440 an680.

28 Denn1063 sie846 sprach3004: Wenn2579 ich nur sein Kleid2440 möchte anrühren680, so2579 würde ich gesund4982.

29 Und2532 alsbald2112 vertrocknete3583 der Brunn ihres Bluts129; und2532 sie846 fühlte es am Leibe4983, daß3754 sie1097 von575 ihrer Plage3148 war gesund2390 worden.

30 Und2532 JEsus2424 fühlete alsbald an2112 ihm selbst1438 die Kraft1411, die von1537 ihm ausgegangen war1831, und wandte1994 sich848 um1722 zum Volk3793 und sprach3004: Wer5101 hat1722 meine3450 Kleider2440 angerühret?

31 Und2532 die Jünger3101 sprachen3004 zu ihm846: Du991 siehest, daß dich4571 das Volk3793 dränget, und2532 sprichst3004: Wer5101 hat680 mich3450 angerühret?

32 Und2532 er sah sich4017 um nach der, die5124 das1492 getan4160 hatte.

33 Das1492 Weib1135 aber1161 fürchtete sich5399 und2532 zitterte5141 (denn sie846 wußte, was an1909 ihr846 geschehen1096 war), kam2064 und2532 fiel vor4363 ihm846 nieder und2532 sagte2036 ihm die3739 ganze3956 Wahrheit225.

34 Er sprach2036 aber1161 zu1519 ihr846: Meine Tochter2364, dein4675 Glaube4102 hat dich4571 gesund4982 gemacht. Gehe5217 hin mit Frieden1515 und2532 sei2468 gesund4982 von575 deiner4675 Plage3148!

35 Da er846 noch2089 also redete2980, kamen2064 etliche vom575 Gesinde des Obersten der Schule752 und sprachen: Deine4675 Tochter2364 ist gestorben599, was5101 mühest du weiter2089 den Meister1320?

36 JEsus2424 aber hörete bald2112 die Rede3056, die da gesagt ward2980, und sprach3004 zu191 dem Obersten der Schule752: Fürchte5399 dich5399 nicht3361; glaube4100 nur3440!

37 Und2532 ließ863 niemand3756 ihm nachfolgen4870 denn1508 Petrus4074 und2532 Jakobus2385 und2532 Johannes2491, den Bruder80 des846 Jakobus2385.

38 Und2532 er kam2064 in1519 das Haus3624 des Obersten der Schule752 und2532 sah2334 das Getümmel2351, und2532 die da sehr4183 weineten und heuleten

39 Und2532 er ging hinein1525 und2532 sprach3004 zu ihnen: Was5101 tummelt2350 und weinet2799 ihr846? Das Kind3813 ist599 nicht3756 gestorben599, sondern235 es schläft2518. Und sie verlachten ihn.

40 Und2532 er846 trieb1544 sie537 alle aus1544 und1161 nahm3880 mit3326 sich den Vater3962 des846 Kindes3813 und2532 die Mutter3384 und2532 die bei ihm waren2258, und2532 ging hinein1531, da3699 das Kind3813 lag.

41 Und2532 ergriff2902 das3739 Kind3813 bei der Hand5495 und sprach3004 zu ihr846: Talitha5008, kumi2891! das ist2076 verdolmetschet: Mägdlein2877, ich sage3004 dir4671, stehe auf1453!

42 Und2532 alsbald2112 stund das Mägdlein2877 auf450 und wandelte4043; es war2258 aber zwölf1427 Jahre2094 alt. Und sie entsetzten1839 sich über3173 die Maßen1611.

43 Und2532 er846 verbot1291 ihnen hart4183, daß2443 es5124 niemand3367 wissen1097 sollte, und2532 sagte2036, sie sollten ihr846 zu essen5315 geben1325.

1 And they came2064 over to the other4008 side4008 of the sea,2281 into1519 the country5561 of the Gadarenes.1046

1 Und2532 sie kamen2064 jenseit4008 des Meers2281, in1519 die1519 Gegend5561 der Gadarener1046.

2 And when he was come1831 out of the ship,4143 immediately2112 there met528 him out of the tombs3419 a man444 with an unclean169 spirit,4151

2 Und2532 als er846 aus1831 dem1537 Schiff4143 trat, lief528 ihm alsbald2112 entgegen aus1537 den Gräbern3419 ein besessener Mensch444 mit1722 einem unsaubern169 Geist4151,

3 der3739 seine846 Wohnung2731 in1722 den Gräbern3419 hatte2192. Und2532 niemand3762 konnte1410 ihn binden1210, auch nicht3777 mit Ketten254.

5 Und2532 er war2258 allezeit1275, Tag2250 und2532 Nacht3571, auf den Bergen3735 und2532 in1722 den Gräbern3418, schrie2896 und2532 schlug2629 sich1438 mit1722 Steinen3037.

6 But when he saw1492 Jesus2424 afar3113 off,575 he ran5143 and worshipped4352 him,

6 Da er846 aber1161 JEsus2424 sah1492 von ferne3113, lief5143 er zu und2532 fiel vor ihm nieder, schrie laut und4352 sprach:

8 For he said3004 to him, Come1831 out of the man,444 you unclean169 spirit.4151

8 Er846 aber1063 sprach3004 zu ihm: Fahre aus1831, du unsauberer169 Geist4151, von1537 dem Menschen444!

9 And he asked1905 him, What5101 is your name?3686 And he answered,611 saying,3004 My name3686 is Legion:3003 for we are many.4183

9 Und2532 er846 fragte1905 ihn: Wie heißest3004 du4671? Und2532 er antwortete611 und sprach5101: Legion3003 heiße3686 ich3427; denn3754 unser ist viel4183.

10 And he sought3870 him much4183 that he would not send649 them away649 out of the country.5561

10 Und2532 er846 bat3870 ihn sehr4183, daß3363 er649 sie846 nicht3363 aus1854 derselben Gegend5561 triebe649.

11 Now1161 there1563 was there near4314 to the mountains3735 a great3173 herd34 of swine5519 feeding.1006

11 Und1161 es war2258 daselbst1563 an4314 den Bergen3735 eine große3173 Herde34 Säue5519 auf der Weide1006.

12 And all3956 the devils1142 sought3870 him, saying,3004 Send3992 us into1519 the swine,5519 that we may enter1525 into1519 them.

12 Und2532 die1519 Teufel1142 baten3870 ihn846 alle3956 und sprachen3004: Laß3992 uns2248 in1519 die846 Säue5519 fahren1525!
