Chapter 8

1 And God430 remembered2142 Noah,5146 and every3605 living2416 thing, and all3605 the cattle929 that was with him in the ark:8392 and God430 made a wind7307 to pass5674 over5921 the earth,776 and the waters4325 assuaged;7918

2 The fountains4599 also of the deep8415 and the windows699 of heaven8064 were stopped,5534 and the rain1653 from heaven8064 was restrained;3607

3 And the waters4325 returned7725 from off5921 the earth776 continually:1980 7725 and after the end7097 of the hundred3967 and fifty2572 days3117 the waters4325 were abated.2637

4 And the ark8392 rested5117 in the seventh7637 month,2320 on5921 the seventeenth7651 6240 day3117 of the month,2320 on the mountains2022 of Ararat.780

5 And the waters4325 decreased2637 continually1980 until5704 the tenth6224 month:2320 in the tenth6224 month, on5921 the first259 day of the month,2320 were the tops7218 of the mountains2022 seen.7200

6 And it came1961 to pass at the end7093 of forty705 days,3117 that Noah5146 opened6605 the window2474 of the ark8392 which834 he had made:6213

7 And he sent7971 forth a raven,6158 which went3318 forth3318 to and fro,7725 until5704 the waters4325 were dried3001 up from off5921 the earth.776

8 Also he sent7971 forth a dove3123 from him, to see7200 if the waters4325 were abated7043 from off5921 the face6440 of the ground;127

9 But the dove3123 found4672 no3808 rest4494 for the sole3709 of her foot,7272 and she returned7725 to him into413 the ark,8392 for the waters4325 were on5921 the face6440 of the whole3605 earth:776 then he put7971 forth7971 his hand,3027 and took3947 her, and pulled935 her in to him into413 the ark.8392

10 And he stayed2342 yet other312 seven7651 days;3117 and again3254 he sent7971 forth the dove3123 out of the ark;8392

11 And the dove3123 came935 in to him in the evening;6153 and, see,2009 in her mouth6310 was an olive2132 leaf5929 plucked2965 off: so Noah5146 knew3045 that the waters4325 were abated7043 from off5921 the earth.776

12 And he stayed3176 yet other312 seven7651 days;3117 and sent7971 forth the dove;3123 which returned7725 not again3254 to him any5750 more.5750

13 And it came1961 to pass in the six8337 hundredth3967 and first259 year,8141 in the first259 month, the first259 day of the month,2320 the waters4325 were dried2717 up from off5921 the earth:776 and Noah5146 removed5493 the covering4372 of the ark,8392 and looked,7200 and, behold,2009 the face6440 of the ground127 was dry.2720

14 And in the second8145 month,2320 on the seven7651 and twentieth6242 day3117 of the month,2320 was the earth776 dried.3001

15 And God430 spoke1696 to Noah,5146 saying,559

16 Go3318 forth3318 of the ark,8392 you, and your wife,802 and your sons,1121 and your sons' 1121wives802 with you.

17 Bring3318 forth3318 with you every3605 living2416 thing that is with you, of all3605 flesh,1320 both of fowl,5775 and of cattle,929 and of every3605 creeping7431 thing that creeps7430 on the earth;776 that they may breed8317 abundantly8317 in the earth,776 and be fruitful,6509 and multiply7235 on the earth.776

18 And Noah5146 went3318 forth,3318 and his sons,1121 and his wife,802 and his sons' 1121wives802 with him:

19 Every3605 beast,2416 every3605 creeping7431 thing, and every3605 fowl,5775 and whatever3605 creeps7430 on the earth,776 after their kinds,4940 went3318 forth3318 out of the ark.8392

20 And Noah5146 built1129 an altar4196 to the LORD;3068 and took3947 of every3605 clean2889 beast,929 and of every3605 clean2889 fowl,5775 and offered5927 burnt5930 offerings on the altar.4196

21 And the LORD3068 smelled7306 a sweet5207 smell;7381 and the LORD3068 said559 in his heart,3820 I will not again3254 curse7043 the ground127 any5750 more5750 for man's120 sake;5668 for the imagination3336 of man's120 heart3820 is evil7451 from his youth;5271 neither3808 will I again3254 smite5221 any5750 more5750 every3605 thing living,2416 as I have done.6213

22 While5750 the earth776 remains,3117 seedtime2233 and harvest,7105 and cold7120 and heat,2527 and summer7019 and winter,2779 and day3117 and night3915 shall not cease.7673

Chapter 8

1 AND God remembered Noah and every living thing and all the animals and all the fowls that were with him in the ark; and God made a wind to blow over the earth, and the waters became calm;

2 The fountains of the deep and the windows of heaven were closed, and the rain from the sky was restrained;

3 And the waters receded from the earth gradually; and after the end of a hundred and fifty clays the waters abated.

4 And in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark rested upon the mountains of Kardo.

5 And the waters decreased gradually until the tenth month; on the first day of the tenth month, the tops of the mountains were seen.

6 And it came to pass at the end of forty days that Noah opened the window of the ark which he had made;

7 And he sent forth a raven which went to and fro, but did not return until the waters were dried up from the face of the earth.

8 Then he sent forth a dove from the ark, to see if the waters had abated from the face of the ground;

9 But the dove found no resting place for her foot, and she returned to him in the ark, for the waters were still on the face of the whole earth. Then he put forth his hand, and took her, and brought her into the ark with him.

10 And he waited yet another seven days; and again he sent forth the dove out of the ark;

11 And the dove came back to him in the evening; and, lo, in her mouth was an olive leaf plucked off; so Noah knew that the waters had subsided from off the earth.

12 And he waited yet another seven days, and sent forth the dove; but the dove did not return again to him any more.

13 And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year, in the first month, the first day of the month, the waters were dried up from off the earth; and Noah removed the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the ground was dry.

14 And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth was dry.

15 And God spoke to Noah, saying,

16 Go forth out of the ark, you and your wife and your sons and your sons' wives with you.

17 Bring forth with you every beast of every kind that is with you, both fowl and cattle and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth; that they may breed abundantly on the earth and be fruitful and multiply upon the face of the earth.

18 So Noah went forth, and his sons and his wife and his sons' wives with him;

19 Every beast, every domestic animal, and every fowl, and whatever creeps upon the earth, after their kinds, went forth out of the ark.

20 Then Noah built an altar to the LORD; and took of every clean animal and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

21 And the LORD smelled the sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the inclination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again destroy any more every living thing, as I have done.

22 From henceforth, while the earth remains, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

15 And God spoke to Noah, saying,

16 Go3318 forth3318 of the ark,8392 you, and your wife,802 and your sons,1121 and your sons' 1121wives802 with you.
