Chapter 9

1 And2532 he entered1684 into1519 a ship,4143 and passed over,1276 and2532 came2064 into1519 his own2398 city.4172

2 And,2532 behold,2400 they brought4374 to him846 a man sick of the palsy,3885 lying906 on1909 a bed:2825 and2532 Jesus2424 seeing1492 their846 faith4102 said2036 unto the3588 sick of the palsy;3885 Son,5043 be of good cheer;2293 thy4675 sins266 be forgiven863 thee.4671

3 And,2532 behold,2400 certain5100 of the3588 scribes1122 said2036 within1722 themselves,1438 This3778 man blasphemeth.987

4 And2532 Jesus2424 knowing1492 their846 thoughts1761 said,2036 Wherefore2444 think1760 ye5210 evil4190 in1722 your5216 hearts?2588

5 For1063 whether5101 is2076 easier,2123 to say,2036 Thy sins266 be forgiven863 thee;4671 or2228 to say,2036 Arise,1453 and2532 walk?4043

6 But1161 that2443 ye may know1492 that3754 the3588 Son5207 of man444 hath2192 power1849 on1909 earth1093 to forgive863 sins,266 (then5119 saith3004 he to the3588 sick of the palsy,)3885 Arise,1453 take up142 thy4675 bed,2825 and2532 go5217 unto1519 thine4675 house.3624

7 And2532 he arose,1453 and departed565 to1519 his848 house.3624

8 But1161 when the3588 multitudes3793 saw1492 it, they marveled,2296 and2532 glorified1392 God,2316 which had given1325 such5108 power1849 unto men.444

9 And2532 as Jesus2424 passed forth3855 from thence,1564 he saw1492 a man,444 named3004 Matthew,3156 sitting2521 at1909 the3588 receipt of custom:5058 and2532 he saith3004 unto him,846 Follow190 me. And2532 he3427 arose,450 and followed190 him.846

10 And2532 it came to pass,1096 as Jesus846 sat at meat345 in1722 the3588 house,3614 behold,2400 many4183 publicans5057 and2532 sinners268 came2064 and sat down4873 with him2424 and2532 his846 disciples.3101

11 And2532 when the3588 Pharisees5330 saw1492 it, they said2036 unto his846 disciples,3101 Why1302 eateth2068 your5216 Master1320 with3326 publicans5057 and2532 sinners?268

12 But1161 when Jesus2424 heard191 that, he said2036 unto them,846 They that be whole2480 need2192 5532 not3756 a physician,2395 but235 they that are sick.2192 2560

13 But1161 go4198 ye and learn3129 what5101 that meaneth,2076 I will2309 have mercy,1656 and2532 not3756 sacrifice: 2378 for1063 I am not3756 come2064 to call2564 the righteous,1342 but235 sinners268 to1519 repentance.3341

14 Then5119 came4334 to him846 the3588 disciples3101 of John,2491 saying,3004 Why1302 do we2249 and2532 the3588 Pharisees5330 fast3522 oft,4183 but1161 thy4675 disciples3101 fast3522 not?3756

15 And2532 Jesus2424 said2036 unto them,846 Can1410 3361 the3588 children5207 of the3588 bridechamber3567 mourn,3996 as long as1909 3745 the3588 bridegroom3566 is2076 with3326 them?846 but1161 the days2250 will come,2064 when3752 the3588 bridegroom3566 shall be taken522 from575 them,846 and2532 then5119 shall they fast.3522

16 1161 No man3762 putteth1911 a piece1915 of new46 cloth4470 unto1909 an old3820 garment,2440 for1063 that which is put in to fill it up4138 846 taketh142 from575 the3588 garment,2440 and2532 the rent4978 is1096 made worse.5501

17 Neither3761 do men put906 new3501 wine3631 into1519 old3820 bottles: 779 else1490 the3588 bottles779 break,4486 and2532 the3588 wine3631 runneth out,1632 and2532 the3588 bottles779 perish: 622 but235 they put906 new3501 wine3631 into1519 new2537 bottles,779 and2532 both297 are preserved.4933

18 While he846 spake2980 these things5023 unto them,846 behold,2400 there came2064 a certain1520 ruler,758 and2532 worshiped4352 him,846 saying,3004 My3450 daughter2364 is even now dead:5053 737 but235 come2064 and2532 lay2007 thy4675 hand5495 upon1909 her,846 and2532 she shall live.2198

19 And2532 Jesus2424 arose,1453 and followed190 him,846 and2532 so did his846 disciples.3101

20 And,2532 behold,2400 a woman,1135 which was diseased with an issue of blood131 twelve1427 years,2094 came4334 behind3693 him, and touched680 the3588 hem2899 of his846 garment: 2440

21 For1063 she said3004 within1722 herself,1438 If1437 I may but3440 touch680 his846 garment,2440 I shall be whole.4982

22 But1161 Jesus2424 turned him about,1994 and2532 when he saw1492 her,846 he said,2036 Daughter,2364 be of good comfort;2293 thy4675 faith4102 hath made thee whole.4982 4571 And2532 the3588 woman1135 was made whole4982 from575 that1565 hour.5610

23 And2532 when Jesus2424 came2064 into1519 the3588 ruler's758 house,3614 and2532 saw1492 the3588 minstrels834 and2532 the3588 people3793 making a noise,2350

24 He said3004 unto them,846 Give place: 402 for1063 the3588 maid2877 is not dead,599 3756 but235 sleepeth.2518 And2532 they laughed him to scorn.2606 846

25 But1161 when3753 the3588 people3793 were put forth,1544 he went in,1525 and took2902 her846 by the3588 hand,5495 and2532 the3588 maid2877 arose.1453

26 And2532 the3588 fame5345 hereof3778 went abroad1831 into1519 all3650 that1565 land.1093

27 And2532 when Jesus2424 departed3855 thence,1564 two1417 blind men5185 followed190 him,846 crying,2896 and2532 saying,3004 Thou son5207 of David,1138 have mercy1653 on us.2248

28 And1161 when he was come2064 into1519 the3588 house,3614 the3588 blind men5185 came4334 to him:846 and2532 Jesus2424 saith3004 unto them,846 Believe4100 ye that3754 I am able1410 to do4160 this? They5124 said3004 unto him,846 Yea,3483 Lord.2962

29 Then5119 touched680 he their846 eyes,3788 saying,3004 According2596 to your5216 faith4102 be it1096 unto you.5213

30 And2532 their846 eyes3788 were opened;455 and2532 Jesus2424 straitly charged1690 them,846 saying,3004 See3708 that no man3367 know1097 it.

31 But1161 they,3588 when they were departed,1831 spread abroad his fame1310 846 in1722 all3650 that1565 country.1093

32 As1161 they846 went out,1831 behold,2400 they brought4374 to him846 a dumb2974 man444 possessed with a devil.1139

33 And2532 when the3588 devil1140 was cast out,1544 the3588 dumb2974 spake:2980 and2532 the3588 multitudes3793 marveled,2296 saying,3004 It was never3763 so3779 seen5316 in1722 Israel.2474

34 But1161 the3588 Pharisees5330 said,3004 He casteth out1544 devils1140 through1722 the3588 prince758 of the3588 devils.1140

35 And2532 Jesus2424 went about4013 all3956 the3588 cities4172 and2532 villages,2968 teaching1321 in1722 their846 synagogues,4864 and2532 preaching2784 the3588 gospel2098 of the3588 kingdom,932 and2532 healing2323 every3956 sickness3554 and2532 every3956 disease3119 among1722 the3588 people.2992

36 But1161 when he saw1492 the3588 multitudes,3793 he was moved with compassion4697 on4012 them,846 because3754 they fainted,2258 1590 and2532 were scattered abroad,4496 as5616 sheep4263 having2192 no3361 shepherd.4166

37 Then5119 saith3004 he unto his848 disciples,3101 The3588 harvest2326 truly3303 is plenteous,4183 but1161 the3588 laborers2040 are few;3641

38 Pray1189 ye therefore3767 the3588 Lord2962 of the3588 harvest,2326 that3704 he will send forth1544 laborers2040 into1519 his848 harvest.2326

Matthew

Chapter 9

1 SO he went up into the boat, and crossed over and came to his own city.

2 And they brought to him a paralytic, lying on a quilt-bed; and Jesus saw their faith, and he said to the paralytic, Have courage, my son; your sins have been forgiven.

3 Some of the scribes said among themselves, This man blasphemes.

4 But Jesus knew their thoughts; so he said to them, Why do you think evil in your hearts?

5 For which is easier to say, Your sins have been forgiven, or to say, Arise and walk?

6 But that you might know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins, then he said to the paralytic, Arise, take up your quilt-bed, and go to your home.

7 And he rose up and went to his home.

8 But when the crowds saw it, they were frightened, and they glorified God, because he had given such power as this to men.

9 And as Jesus passed from that place, he saw a man whose name was Matthew, sitting in the custom house, and he said to him, Follow me; and he got up and went after him.

10 And while they were guests in the house, a great many publicans and sinners came, and they sat as guests with Jesus and with his disciples.

11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to his disciples, Why does your master eat with publicans and sinners?

12 But when Jesus heard it, he said to them, Those who are well need no doctor, but those who are seriously sick.

13 Go and learn what this means, I want mercy and not sacrifice; for I came not to invite righteous men, but sinners.

14 Then the disciples of John came up to him, and said, Why do we and the Pharisees fast a great deal, and your disciples never fast?

15 Jesus said to them, Is it possible for those at the wedding feast to fast as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days are coming, when the bridegroom will be taken from them, and then they will fast.

16 No man puts a new patch on an old garment, so as not to weaken that garment, and make the hole larger.

17 Neither do they pour new wine into worn out skins, so as not to rend the skins, and spill the wine, and the wine runs out, and the skins are ruined; but they pour new wine into new skins, and both of them are well preserved.

18 While he was speaking these things with them, a leader of the synagogue came near and worshipped him; and he said, My daughter has just died, but come and put your hand on her and she will live.

19 And Jesus and his disciples rose up and went with him.

20 And behold a woman who had had the hemorrhage for twelve years, came up from behind him, and she touched the edge of his cloak;

21 For she was saying to herself, If I can only touch his garment, I will be healed.

22 And Jesus turned around and saw her and said to her, Have courage, my daughter, your faith has healed you; and the woman was healed in that very hour.

23 So Jesus arrived at the house of the synagogue leader, and saw the singers and the excited crowds.

24 And he said to them, That is enough; for the little girl is not dead, but she is asleep; and they laughed at him.

25 But when he had put the people out, he went in and held her by her hand, and the little girl got up.

26 And this news spread all over that country.

27 And as Jesus passed from there, he was delayed by two blind men, who were crying out and saying, Have mercy on us, O son of David.

28 And when he came into the house, the same blind men came up to him. Jesus said to them, Do you believe that I can do this? They said to him, Yes, our Lord.

29 Then he touched their eyes and said, Let it be to you according to your faith.

30 And immediately their eyes were opened; and Jesus charged them and said, See that no one knows it.

31 But they went out and spread the news all over that country.

32 And when Jesus went out, they brought to him a dumb man who was demented.

33 And as soon as he was restored, the dumb man spoke, and the people were amazed and said, Such a thing has never been seen in Israel.

34 But the Pharisees said, He is casting out devils by the help of the prince of devils.

35 And Jesus travelled in all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every kind of sickness and disease.

36 When Jesus saw the multitudes, he had compassion on them, because they were tired out and scattered, like sheep which have no shepherd.

37 So he said to his disciples, The harvest is great, and the laborers are few;

38 Therefore urge the owner of the harvest to bring more laborers to his harvest.

1 And2532 he entered1684 into1519 a ship,4143 and passed over,1276 and2532 came2064 into1519 his own2398 city.4172

1 SO he went up into the boat, and crossed over and came to his own city.

2 And they brought to him a paralytic, lying on a quilt-bed; and Jesus saw their faith, and he said to the paralytic, Have courage, my son; your sins have been forgiven.

3 And,2532 behold,2400 certain5100 of the3588 scribes1122 said2036 within1722 themselves,1438 This3778 man blasphemeth.987

3 Some of the scribes said among themselves, This man blasphemes.

4 And2532 Jesus2424 knowing1492 their846 thoughts1761 said,2036 Wherefore2444 think1760 ye5210 evil4190 in1722 your5216 hearts?2588

4 But Jesus knew their thoughts; so he said to them, Why do you think evil in your hearts?

5 For1063 whether5101 is2076 easier,2123 to say,2036 Thy sins266 be forgiven863 thee;4671 or2228 to say,2036 Arise,1453 and2532 walk?4043

5 For which is easier to say, Your sins have been forgiven, or to say, Arise and walk?

6 But1161 that2443 ye may know1492 that3754 the3588 Son5207 of man444 hath2192 power1849 on1909 earth1093 to forgive863 sins,266 (then5119 saith3004 he to the3588 sick of the palsy,)3885 Arise,1453 take up142 thy4675 bed,2825 and2532 go5217 unto1519 thine4675 house.3624

6 But that you might know that the Son of man has authority on earth to forgive sins, then he said to the paralytic, Arise, take up your quilt-bed, and go to your home.

7 And2532 he arose,1453 and departed565 to1519 his848 house.3624

7 And he rose up and went to his home.

8 But1161 when the3588 multitudes3793 saw1492 it, they marveled,2296 and2532 glorified1392 God,2316 which had given1325 such5108 power1849 unto men.444

8 But when the crowds saw it, they were frightened, and they glorified God, because he had given such power as this to men.

9 And as Jesus passed from that place, he saw a man whose name was Matthew, sitting in the custom house, and he said to him, Follow me; and he got up and went after him.

10 And2532 it came to pass,1096 as Jesus846 sat at meat345 in1722 the3588 house,3614 behold,2400 many4183 publicans5057 and2532 sinners268 came2064 and sat down4873 with him2424 and2532 his846 disciples.3101

10 And while they were guests in the house, a great many publicans and sinners came, and they sat as guests with Jesus and with his disciples.

11 And2532 when the3588 Pharisees5330 saw1492 it, they said2036 unto his846 disciples,3101 Why1302 eateth2068 your5216 Master1320 with3326 publicans5057 and2532 sinners?268

11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to his disciples, Why does your master eat with publicans and sinners?

12 But1161 when Jesus2424 heard191 that, he said2036 unto them,846 They that be whole2480 need2192 5532 not3756 a physician,2395 but235 they that are sick.2192 2560

12 But when Jesus heard it, he said to them, Those who are well need no doctor, but those who are seriously sick.

13 Go and learn what this means, I want mercy and not sacrifice; for I came not to invite righteous men, but sinners.

14 Then5119 came4334 to him846 the3588 disciples3101 of John,2491 saying,3004 Why1302 do we2249 and2532 the3588 Pharisees5330 fast3522 oft,4183 but1161 thy4675 disciples3101 fast3522 not?3756

14 Then the disciples of John came up to him, and said, Why do we and the Pharisees fast a great deal, and your disciples never fast?

15 And2532 Jesus2424 said2036 unto them,846 Can1410 3361 the3588 children5207 of the3588 bridechamber3567 mourn,3996 as long as1909 3745 the3588 bridegroom3566 is2076 with3326 them?846 but1161 the days2250 will come,2064 when3752 the3588 bridegroom3566 shall be taken522 from575 them,846 and2532 then5119 shall they fast.3522

15 Jesus said to them, Is it possible for those at the wedding feast to fast as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days are coming, when the bridegroom will be taken from them, and then they will fast.

16 No man puts a new patch on an old garment, so as not to weaken that garment, and make the hole larger.

17 Neither do they pour new wine into worn out skins, so as not to rend the skins, and spill the wine, and the wine runs out, and the skins are ruined; but they pour new wine into new skins, and both of them are well preserved.

18 While he was speaking these things with them, a leader of the synagogue came near and worshipped him; and he said, My daughter has just died, but come and put your hand on her and she will live.

19 And2532 Jesus2424 arose,1453 and followed190 him,846 and2532 so did his846 disciples.3101

19 And Jesus and his disciples rose up and went with him.

20 And,2532 behold,2400 a woman,1135 which was diseased with an issue of blood131 twelve1427 years,2094 came4334 behind3693 him, and touched680 the3588 hem2899 of his846 garment: 2440

20 And behold a woman who had had the hemorrhage for twelve years, came up from behind him, and she touched the edge of his cloak;

21 For1063 she said3004 within1722 herself,1438 If1437 I may but3440 touch680 his846 garment,2440 I shall be whole.4982

21 For she was saying to herself, If I can only touch his garment, I will be healed.

22 And Jesus turned around and saw her and said to her, Have courage, my daughter, your faith has healed you; and the woman was healed in that very hour.

23 And2532 when Jesus2424 came2064 into1519 the3588 ruler's758 house,3614 and2532 saw1492 the3588 minstrels834 and2532 the3588 people3793 making a noise,2350

23 So Jesus arrived at the house of the synagogue leader, and saw the singers and the excited crowds.

24 He said3004 unto them,846 Give place: 402 for1063 the3588 maid2877 is not dead,599 3756 but235 sleepeth.2518 And2532 they laughed him to scorn.2606 846

24 And he said to them, That is enough; for the little girl is not dead, but she is asleep; and they laughed at him.

25 But1161 when3753 the3588 people3793 were put forth,1544 he went in,1525 and took2902 her846 by the3588 hand,5495 and2532 the3588 maid2877 arose.1453

25 But when he had put the people out, he went in and held her by her hand, and the little girl got up.

26 And2532 the3588 fame5345 hereof3778 went abroad1831 into1519 all3650 that1565 land.1093
