Chapter 13

1 AND as I stood on the sand of the sea, I saw a wild beast rise up out of the sea, having ten horns and seven heads, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads blasphemous words.

2 And the wild beast which I saw was like to a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his throne, and great authority.

3 And one of his heads was as though mortally wounded; but his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered about the wild beast.

4 And they worshipped the dragon because he had given power to the beast : who can prevail against him to fight him?

5 And there was given to him a mouth that he might utter great things and blasphemies; and power was given to him to make war for forty and two months.

6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name and his dwelling place, and those who dwell in heaven.

7 And power was given to him over every tribe and kindred and tongue, and nation, and it was given to him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them.

8 And all who dwell upon the earth shall worship him, even those whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

9 If any man has ears, let him hear.

10 He who leads into captivity, shall go into captivity; he who kills with the sword, must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

11 And I beheld another wild beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke as a dragon.

12 And all the power of the first wild beast before him was exercised by him, and he caused the earth and those who dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

13 And he wrought great wonders, to such an extent that he could even make fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

14 Beguiling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the wild beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.

15 And he had power to give life to the image of the wild beast, and to cause all those who would not worship the image of the wild beast to be killed.

16 And he compelled all, both small and great, rich and poor, freemen and slaves to receive a mark on their right hands or on their brows:

17 So that no man might buy or sell, except he who had the mark of the name of the beast, or the code number of his name.

18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding decipher the code number of the beast: for it is the code number of the name of a man; and his number is six hundred sixty-six (Nero Caesar).

1 Стал он на берегу морском. А из моря, я вижу, поднялся зверь с семью головами и десятью рогами. На рогах у него десять диадем, а на головах — имена богохульные.

2 Зверь, которого увидел я, походил на барса, а ноги у него были, как у медведя, пасть же — как у льва. Дал ему дракон свою силу, престол и власть великую.

3 Казалось, что одной из голов зверя был нанесен смертельный удар, но рана его смертельная была исцелена. Вся земля с изумлением смотрела на зверя.

4 И поклонились люди дракону, потому что он дал власть зверю, и зверю поклонились, говоря: «Кто равен зверю этому и кто может сразиться с ним?»

5 Дано было зверю говорить надменно и богохульно, дано было и властвовать сорок два месяца.

6 И стал он извергать из пасти своей хулу на Бога, стал поносить имя Его, и место обитания Его, и тех, кто на небе живет.

7 Позволено ему было воевать с народом Божьим и победить их, и властвовать над всяким коленом, народом, языком и племенем дано было ему.

8 Поклонятся ему все живущие на земле, чьи имена не вписаны в Книгу Жизни Агнца, принесенного в жертву от сотворения мира.

9 Если есть у вас уши, слушайте!

10 Если суждено кому в плен попасть, он в плену и окажется, и если должен кто пасть от меча, он им и будет убит. Здесь стойкость и вера народа Божия.

11 Увидел я еще одного зверя: он поднимался из земли. У него были два рога, походившие на рога агнца. Но говорил он, как дракон,

12 и имел ту же власть, что была у первого зверя. Он действовал на виду у того и заставлял землю и живущих на ней поклониться первому зверю, у которого исцелена была его смертельная рана.

13 Великие он творил знамения перед людьми, даже огонь низводил с неба на землю.

14 Обманывал он жителей земли всеми чудесами, какие дано ему было совершать на глазах первого зверя, и склонял живущих на земле сотворить образ этого зверя, который смертельно был ранен мечом, но ожил.

15 Дано ему было оживить образ зверя, дабы заговорил он и сделал так, [чтобы] все, кто ему не поклонится, были убиты.

16 Настоял он на том, чтобы всем: малым и великим, богатым и нищим, свободным и рабам — всем ставили на правую руку или на лоб клеймо,

17 и чтобы никто уже после этого не мог ни купить ничего, ни продать, если нет на нем клейма: имени первого зверя или числа этого имени.

18 Нужна мудрость здесь. У кого есть ум, пусть подсчитает число зверя, человеческое оно, это число: 666 — вот число зверя.

1 Стал он на берегу морском. А из моря, я вижу, поднялся зверь с семью головами и десятью рогами. На рогах у него десять диадем, а на головах — имена богохульные.

12 And all the power of the first wild beast before him was exercised by him, and he caused the earth and those who dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

12 и имел ту же власть, что была у первого зверя. Он действовал на виду у того и заставлял землю и живущих на ней поклониться первому зверю, у которого исцелена была его смертельная рана.

13 And he wrought great wonders, to such an extent that he could even make fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

13 Великие он творил знамения перед людьми, даже огонь низводил с неба на землю.

14 Beguiling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the wild beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.

14 Обманывал он жителей земли всеми чудесами, какие дано ему было совершать на глазах первого зверя, и склонял живущих на земле сотворить образ этого зверя, который смертельно был ранен мечом, но ожил.

15 And he had power to give life to the image of the wild beast, and to cause all those who would not worship the image of the wild beast to be killed.

15 Дано ему было оживить образ зверя, дабы заговорил он и сделал так, [чтобы] все, кто ему не поклонится, были убиты.

16 And he compelled all, both small and great, rich and poor, freemen and slaves to receive a mark on their right hands or on their brows:

16 Настоял он на том, чтобы всем: малым и великим, богатым и нищим, свободным и рабам — всем ставили на правую руку или на лоб клеймо,

17 So that no man might buy or sell, except he who had the mark of the name of the beast, or the code number of his name.

17 и чтобы никто уже после этого не мог ни купить ничего, ни продать, если нет на нем клейма: имени первого зверя или числа этого имени.
